According to Ezekiel 18: 20, " Only the one who sins will die. A child won’t bear a parent’s guilt, and a parent won’t bear a child’s guilt. Those who do right will be declared innocent, and the wicked will be declared guilty."

espn:
Is she even in the right position to criticise the present government if truly her husband is guilty of the accusation? Tell me what's constructive about her criticism when shes and her husband are part of the problem. In Nigeria most people forming activist are those who are not being called to be part of the government (stealing). They do not in anyway care about the people. By the way WHO IS BANKROLLING YOU.

In addition even God said the sins of the parent will be melted out as punishment to there kids and offspring ..So why shouldn't they drag her into this. If she is truly a sane and saint as she pretends to be. she should have done the dragging herself before people do it for her. Sebi she claims she is an advocate of truth...So let her charity begins at home irrespective of who is involved.

Christianity EtcRe: After Jesus’ Resurrection, Was His Body Flesh Or Spirit? by Ndipe(m):
Jesus Christ is God's only Begotten Son and that makes Him distinct from the rest of the angels. He is superior, way way higher than the angels according to this Biblical verse, "Having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they."
–Hebrews 1:4

MaxInDHouse:
Well let me tell you that Jesus is the same angel Michael!
Though it's somehow difficult for someone who doesn't believe we know more than him to grasp it but i'll present my own evidence!

First of all Jesus was one of God's sons that makes him equal to angels because God's word call angels the sons of God! Genesis 6:1; Job 1:6, 38:7

Secondly Jesus was the only person referred to as Prince in heaven {Isaiah 9:6} and Michael was also referred to as Prince! Daniel 12:1

Thirdly Jesus was said to be the Chief commander of God's armies in heaven the same position Michael occupied! Matthew 25:31; Revelations 12:7

Lastly the voice of the person that will raise the dead is the archangel's which is Jesus' voice! 1Thessalonians 4:16 compare to John 6:44

The Bible book of Hebrew 1:6 has a deeper meaning than what most of you do quote it for. Angels are surely God's sons {Job 38:7} but the import of Hebrew 1:6 is God did not introduce any angel to us as his son so we shouldn't be deceived when an angel appear to us telling us something contrary to the instructions given by Jesus (the one and only person God introduced to mankind as his son) Matthew 17:5 compare to Galatians 1:8 smiley

Whether you overestimated or underestimated me is not the issue. The matter is for us to learn and imbibe the Holy scriptures in our lives instead of puffing up that we are better or more knowledgeable than others because their views run contrary to ours.

MaxInDHouse:
I'm sorry to have overestimated you, i forgot you are not one of our Bible Students! undecided
OK so out of all i typed there the only point that you feel is wrong is Michael being Jesus, shey? undecided

Leave that one inside the cooler for now, we will treat it later, so Jesus' former body was taken away by the angels after he got back to life as a mighty spirit being!
Christianity EtcRe: After Jesus’ Resurrection, Was His Body Flesh Or Spirit? by Ndipe(m): 6:22am On Oct 18, 2020
Jesus Christ is not Michael. Read the Holy Bible again. Michael is an arch-angel while Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Please read this: "But when the archangel Michael contended with the Devil and disputed about the body of Moses, he did not dare to bring a condemnation of slander against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" (Jude 9). Note, Michael did not rebuke the devil.

Then read this,

"Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.' " Then the Devil left Him, and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him (Matthew 4:10,11).

In other words, while Michael did not rebuke the devil, during the temptation, He, Jesus Christ, rebuked the devil.

Secondly, read this in Hebrews 1:5

For to which of the angels did He ever say: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again: “I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son”?

Those Biblical verses clearly shows that Jesus Christ is not the archangel, Michael.

MaxInDHouse:
That was exactly what Jesus (Michael) did after resurrection!
He temporarily took human form to prove that he is now alive again not his former body.
That's why his disciples who knew him so well couldn't recognize him by appearance again, they only sensed it's him through actions! Luke 24:13-32; John 20:14-16, 21:4-12
So Jesus had to do this because his former body has been taken away by the angels they saw at the tomb {Mark 16:5; Luke 24:4; John 20:12} just as angels took away Moses's body! Jude 9

"After eight days his disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Reach here with your finger, and see my hands; and reach here your hand and put it into my side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing." Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:26-28).

Jesus still had the scars on his hands He sustained during the crucifixion.

DappaD:
In the materialised human state that Jesus was when he appeared to his disciples, he had flesh and bones so he wasn't lying.
Just like angels(who took human form to appear visible) visited Abraham had teeth and bones to shred meat and chew bread that was presented before them. (Genesis 18:1-8, Hebrews 13:2)
Angels are spirit creatures(Psalm 104:4) but when they visited Abraham, they materialised into human form.
The Bible clearly says that Jesus was put to death in the flesh but was raised up in a spirit body.(1Peter 3:18)

Then, I looked behind me and there was the author, Chimamanda Adichie. She was typing on her smart phone. I made eye-contact with her, then proceeded to say to her, "Guess what I am reading." She asked, "Oh, what is it?" I showed her the novel and she remarked gleefully, "Good one" I tried to strike up a conversation with her, but she wasnt in the mood, which was ok with me. Then later on when I was done with security and was ready to glide through another terminal, I observed that she was peeking at me from a corner.

Nairaland GeneralRe: What Broke Your Trust With Friends? Share Your Experience by Ndipe(m):
During the holidays (back when I was in college), I was doing my internship at a bank. One afternoon, I saw a guy on top of a motorbike flagging desperately at me as I stood outside the bank. I recognized him immediately. He was a close friend of one of my coursemates who doubled as my study partner. While I considered him a friend of mine, I had minimal interaction with his friend who was paying me a visit at the bank. He was on a mission as he told me when he got off the bike and I ushered him into my office. He had five resits at the university and he was in dire need of a place to stay so that he could write his resits. The hotel he was currently staying at was billing him 100 Naira a night which was draining his finances. Hence, he wanted to squat at my place. I was the only one who could bail him out. I declined his pleas and he left in tears.

The following day, he stopped by again to beg me, but fortunately for him, I wasnt in the office. He proceeded to plead with my supervisor to help him beg me accommodate him for a month or so while he took and cleared off his resit. When I came back (he had left), Rosa said to me, "Mbok nyanga enye" . . . "Please help him." I acquiesced to her pleas. By coincidence, I was moving into my off campus residence (from home) that very weekend. So after my mum dropped me off on Sunday. There-after, I went to his hotel and he was so so relieved and happy to see me because that meant I was willing to accommodate him which I did for one month. We got along very well, he cleared off his resits and left on very good terms. I am certain that he passed all his resits. The following session when school resumed, the guy again asked for accommodation. So, he stayed with me, along with my study partner, who then sneaked in his friend as well. So, we were four in a room. My landlord made WAHALA with me and threatened on several occasions to kick me out of the house for harboring occupants in his compound without his permission. Earlier on, my mother had gone to my landlord's village on a mission because he had threatened to kick me out, and there, begged him also to allow the guy to stay with me because of his academic deficiencies. But for the Grace of God, I would have lost my place and these fellows stayed with me for about two months and left on good terms. He was very appreciative of my hospitality to him and tried to reciprocate it by always inviting me to his new bunk to eat at his expenses but I turned him down much to his great annoyance. I know he meant well, but I did not want to come off as a leech, sponging off on him, even if he was wealthy. Later on, we quarreled. My study partner and his other friend and another coursemate would gossip about this wealthy guy to my face and I will defend him. But then my study partner would go to this guy's house and gossip about me. We reconciled but our friendship was not as solid as before.

After college, I relocated to the US and years later, I was able to get in touch with him through a lady that I chatted with in a Nigerian chatroom. He was so so happy to hear from me because the assumption back home is that when people travel abroad, they forget their friends back home. My youngest brother died several years after I resumed contact with this former roommate of mine, so I flew into Nigeria for his funeral. I passed the night in Lagos with plans of traveling to Uyo the following day. But my plans derailed that day so when I went to the airport that evening, the only available flight was to Port Harcourt. My goal was that as soon I land in PH, I will charter a taxi straight to Uyo (as I did years earlier). However it was dark when I arrived in PH. Alone in a strange place with nobody to help me, I was just helpless. Then a thought occurred to me as I remembered my friend I had put up with years earlier lived in PH and like I said to myself, he will help me out because I did help him out when he needed my assistance. So, I called him up, he picked up the phone and I explained my circumstances and that I needed to stay at his place just for one night. I will be on my way to Uyo the following day. He came to the airport to pick me up. On our way, the guy sighed, then berated me, "But you could have left Lagos earlier on now." Then he kept on ranting that when people are married, they focus on their family and not on their friends, so in essence, he was very reluctant to accommodate me. And here I was thinking that this would be another reunion of sorts. But the man kept ranting and ranting and asking me, "Ok, so why did you not leave Lagos earlier on now, you should be thankful to God that I picked up the phone because I was about to switch it off when your call came in, it's just that when people are married, they focus on their family not friends." I was so embarrassed and tongue tied at this deplorable way he was treating me. Like, it was a big deal he gave me a place or without him, I would have been stranded big time in PH (just for a day) whereas, back in college, he was on the verge of being kicked out of college because of his academic deficiencies if I had not given him a place to stay) It got worse when we arrived at his house and he served me food like one would to their cat. His wife was very nice and hospitable to me, but this guy was just angry at me throughout my stay until the following morning when he dropped me off at the the motor-park.

He sent me an email when I returned to the States that he was sad at my brother's demise. When I think of how I helped him in his time of need, how he confessed that but for my help, he would have been stranded and how he repaid my hospitality in my own time of need when I was stranded in PH, I now realize that if the roles were reversed back in college, that guy wouldnt have helped me.

How can you differentiate an Akwa Ibomite from a Cross Riverian when their names are almost interchangeable?

Cheat2Win:
Did you know there's war going on in southern cameroon right now? did you k now Akwa ibom enacted death sentence on kidnappers and armed robbers that's why those criminals escaped to Calabar because the governor of Cross river is not tackling insecurity but was rather focused on building industries. Go to the police station and check the names of most of the criminals and they're at least 50 percent Akwa ibomites from Oron ,Uyo etc. 20 percent Cameroonians.

Like i said Akwa ibom is just busy with media propaganda. do you want me to show you bad news and underdevelopment in Akwa ibom right now / i can. I can also show you some nice things going on in Calabar and other plans for private developments happening in Calabar.
TravelRe: My Trip To Calabar and Akwa Ibom From Lagos by Ndipe(m): 10:01am On Oct 07, 2020
I was not painting Calabar black but giving an accurate picture of what's going on there. Anarchy seems to be the order of the day in the city as news reports are inundated with kidnapping and cult killings. It is wrong of you to accuse Akwa Ibomites and Cameroonians as being criminals that are creating havoc out there. Where are your proofs?

Cheat2Win:
I wish people can use their brains more often so i dont have to type long. Nigerians always love to exaggerate things. The thing is that it's human nature to reminisce on the past and that makes you see with rose colored glasses ,but the fact is that no one place can remain the same forever, there's always changes going on. There's been lots of changes and development in Calabar since the 80s . There's still middle class etc. I've seen many photos and videos of Calabar recently and I would say it's not as bad as some make it out to be , it's normal Nigerian setting or most to be okay and the inner streets are bad. and this despite Cross river receiving the lowest allocation. Although there are some private development plans for Calabar. the governor needs to step up and expand and also curb insecurity which is as a result of criminals escaping from Akwa ibom and war torn southern Cameroon to seek refuge in Calabar.
Listen, Cross river is 3 times larger than Akwa ibom and receives the least allocation.Do you think Uyo would develop s it did without those extra oil wells? I think it's highly unfair when people do not take factors into consideration. . i've seen photos of and videos of some development going on in other parts of Cross river state .
Akwa ibom is just doing a good job with media propaganda that's why you think other wise . For example, the airport Akwa ibom is trying to build Calabar already has an airport and seaport and planning to build new ones. The conference center Akwa ibom is trying to build ,Calabar has conferernce center . Golf courses Calaabr has . Calabar has flag and Cross river also has flag. bom Hotel and resort is not doing any better than Tinapa Lakeside Hotel. There are investors and factories springing up in Calabar . As for stadium, frankly,it's not the job of government to build stadium . There's numerous private projects going on in Calabar too. again not all states have everything posted to front page of nairaland. What needs to happen is that new 6 lane roadways need to be built to open up many other areas in Akpabuyo ,etc.

In my time, Calabar was a serene town with great leaders like the late Clement Isong and Esuene who built the Calabar Itu road/bridge that changed the mode of transportation in the place from plying the sea to traveling by road. We had the palm produce board, the biscuit factory, the famous Metropolitan hotel . . . infact, there was a solid middle class in the city. Civil servants lived a decent or somewhat comfortable life, the roads were nice and tarred, Uyo was just a village, I dont know if there was electricity at that time in Uyo when I was growing up in Calabar. How Calabar just degenerated into an abyss is shocking.

Development is not a mystery , Nigerians make it look so. Everywhere can be developed, it just needs competent planning & execution and efficient tax system. without efficient tax system there would be lack of maintenance. dependence on allocation is unsustainable .
Another thing is to enact and enforce progressive laws. For example, ban child labor and street/roadside hawking, wrongful parking, overloading of vehicle, compulsory vehicle insurance, that will make the roads appear cleaner and orderly than they are now .
Calabar is larger and more naturally beautiful than Uyo&Akwa ibom. In my opinion,Calabar has greater potentials, more history & beautiful culture and is still better than Uyo because it's by the water, Hills, mountains around Akamkpa , and you can't beat waterfront cities . All Calabar needs is a good administrator and mega city expansion with bridges and 3 lane avenues linking various areas like Creek town ,Odukpani, Akpabuyo area. waterfront parks, beaches, and boardwalks.
Infrastructures like stadium ,malls, airline, highrise apartments , and resorts are private ventures. It's white elephant and won't last if built by Government.
Frankly, it's not a mystery to build good roads with sidewalks, traffic signs, drainage, trees, etc. , it's just unfortunate that the administrator is incompetent for now .
TravelRe: My Trip To Calabar and Akwa Ibom From Lagos by Ndipe(m): 10:52am On Oct 03, 2020
Prior to the Esuene's administration, the mode of trasportation from Uyo to Calabar was by sea via hovercraft or boat. Esuene came onboard and changed the landscape by building the Calabar Itu road/bridge, a welcome development in the state. It's very unfortunate and disappointing that in this day and age where the mode of transportation has been upgraded in other parts of the world, in Akwa Ibom and Cross River, it is only retrogressing, because now, travelers have gone back to plying the sea to reach their destination.

Gerrard59:
If I had seen this thread earlier, I'd have cautioned you travelling to Uyo via road. You probably should have taken a boat from Creek Town to Oron and use the road to Uyo. Due to the deplorable road situation, it's shorter. People have spent more than five hours on that Calabar - Uyo Road. Five years ago, the trip took not more than two hours and not more than an hour seven years ago (circa 30 - 45 mins).
TravelRe: My Trip To Calabar and Akwa Ibom From Lagos by Ndipe(m):
I am from Uyo but grew up in Calabar. In my days, Uyo was a village while Calabar was an urban area. There was just no comparison between Uyo and Calabar. Even when I was at Uniuyo, people complained the place was dry and they could not wait to leave the area after graduation. One even said he will never step foot in Uyo after his graduation. Now, the roles have switched, Uyo is experiencing a renaissance, with nice tarred roads, modern buildings and influx of tourists and people from different parts of the country seeking to better their lives by tapping into greener pastures of the land. Who would have thought? This should serve as a reminder that no condition is permanent.

OVB123:
Thank you very much but I don't know why Calabar is living in past glory? the place can not be compared to Uyo now.
