Not a waste of money. Traveling abroad is a dream come true to most people in Nigeria. So, this one in a life time opportunity is a nice opportunity for a change. adelafe2019: Most Nigerians are not Patriots.Just imagine a company that made it's money from contracts got from the Federal Govt. of Nigeria only to sponsor over 280 staff to Saudi Arabia. The millions of naira spent on flight, accommodation feeding etc to develop tourism and lGR in Saudi was a waste.
Why not take them to some of the numerous tourist centres in Nigeria to improve income of people in the areas, their state govts . and tax for the Federal Govt.

Politics › Re: Nigeria Should Emulate Botswana And Namibia Town Planning (Pictures) by Ndipe(m): 9:26am On Nov 29, 2020 |
Well, South East is still part of Nigeria hence it fits into my discourse that it would have been wiped off the map. Secondly, the gulf war between Iran and Iraq was from 1980 to 1988 not in the 1970's, hence, it had no influence or bearing in Nigeria's golden era of the 1970's where the country was flushed with money. BastardWike: If any part should use the civil war as excuse then it should be the South East. The war devastated their economy and left the region in ruins. But they bounced back. Other parts of Nigeria weren't affected in any way.
What gave the impression that Nigeria was prosperous in the 1970's was the gulf war between Iran and Iraq that suddenly shot oil prices skywards. The same oil proceeds were abused by Gowon and he made that infamous statement that Nigeria has more money than it could use. A country that was still largely underdeveloped. A wise president would have created a sovereign wealth fund while pursuing value creation through provision of infrastructure and amenities. Instead they started massive looting, rent seeking activities and jamboree projects like FESTAC 77 and the rest.
Nigeria has never been great and would never be in the future if the ruling class continue like this. |
Business › Re: Advice On Photocopying Business In Nigeria by Ndipe(m): 7:10am On Nov 29, 2020 |
Good advice. Thank you. Bulga: My guess is that you want to set up a copy shop and I believe Sewa gave you a very good advice.
Let me add that if you are going for tokunbo copiers you have to talk to some copy-machine repairers around your area in Nigeria, they will tell you the best brand to buy (which must be Mita or Sharp).
If you have enough capital and want to make use of new copiers then go for Xerox and make sure you deal with Xerox authorized reseller (http://www.xhsnigeria.com) so that you will be able to benefit from their "after sales support service" which you should understand and discuss in details with the reseller before buying their products.
As per how to monitor the sales of your photocopiers, coin-operated photocopiers suppose to be the best but I doubt whether such system is obtainable in Nigeria. Resellers of new photocopiers should know better.
Look at the website of a copy shop in Port Harcourt and learn something from there. http://www.nubuck.com/
That's my 2 cents. |

Nigeria rebounded from the civil war that could have annihilated the country from the face of the earth to becoming a utopia back in the 70's and 80's which witnessed a number of migrants from other nations in search of better opportunities. I am interested in visiting Ghana and I will like to take a road trip. The reason is just to explore and enjoy the scenery from Lagos to Accra. But the long journey itself is a deterrent unlike if I were to fly. hardbody: I do not really get all these points. I had done Lagos-Ghana-Lagos by road, just to view the scenery and have a bit of relaxation, i travelled via ABC transport, everything was so well managed and organised. They collected our passports and yellow cards (vaccination) in the bus, gave us forms to declare the amount we had on us and that was the last we had any encounter with anybody. They served us three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner and returned our passports as soon as we had passed Aflao and went further inside Ghana, i guess just before we entered Accra. The return trip was basically the same save for the fact that we got into lagos late because of the traffic from Badagry end. Lest i forget, we were also made to walk through the immigration points as the bus will drive through and go wait for us in front. I recall i had to change some dollars at one of those points so that i will have Ghanian Cedis and pesewas before entering that country. In all i so loved that trip that i am thinking of another. |
