FamilyWould You Allow Your Wife To Still Remain Friends With Her Divorced Friend? by Ndipe(op): 2:27am On Nov 17, 2012
In the olden days, divorced women were shunned socially in the society for fear that they would either corrupt a married woman or break down her marital home.

Even today, there are some men who express discomfort at the mere fact that their wives are on friendly terms with a friend of theirs who is divorced. Part of thier discomfort is the fact that they might try to break up their marital home.

Even women at times might shunned their divorced friend out of fear they might be out to pursue their husband or wreck their marriage out of jealousy.

What do you think? Your wife's friend just got a divorce and would you issue an ultimatum to her to stop hanging out with her friend or simply avert your eyes the other way?

7-Year-Old Girl Narrates How Wicked Step-Mum Forced Her To Eat Her Faeces

at 11/13/2012 06:33:00 AM

A sombre atmosphere last week engulfed the court as a seven-year-old girl gave a heart-rending account on how she was forced by her stepmother to eat faeces as punishment for soiling blankets.

The 19-year-old stepmother is facing charges of ill-treating a minor under provisions of the Children's Act.

The girl gave evidence in the victim friendly court, on a closed circuit television screened from a separate room. Harare magistrate Ms Anita Tshuma is presiding over the case.

The girl said her father threatened her if she gave incriminating evidence against his wife. Ms Tshuma was forced to briefly adjourn the court after many people watching proceedings from the closed circuit television could be seen shedding tears. In her testimony, the girl said she had a running stomach when the stepmother forced her to eat her faeces.

"I had a running stomach and I told mother before I soiled the blankets. After I soiled the blankets, I was beaten with a hosepipe before she chased me out of the house in the evening. While outside the house, mother poured cold water all over my body and forced me to wash the blankets. She threatened that I was going to sleep outside the house if I did not open my mouth and eat the faeces," she said.

During cross-examination by prosecutor Ms Francisca Mukumbiri, the stepmother denied ever ill-treating the minor, saying she had been taking care of her since 2009. She, however, admitted to assaulting the girl using a stick.

Charges against the stepmother arose sometime this month, when the minor soiled her blankets. She allegedly forced her to eat the faeces. A neighbour saw the minor's mouth full of faeces before she washed her, it is alleged.

It is alleged that the stepmother assaulted her and denied her food, forcing her to rely on neighbours. The accused allegedly failed to take the child to school on numerous occasions. The matter came to light when an anonymous note was dropped in a police suggestion box leading to the stepmother's arrest.

FamilyRe: If You Are Obama, Would You Adopt A Son? by Ndipe(m): 3:04am On Nov 15, 2012
Techwriter: President Barak Obama has only two daughters. The implication of this is that the name Obama is near extinction in the United states after the demise of the president. As an African man, would you tow Obama and Clinton's path? If you are his brother, would you advice him to adopt a son in other to preserve his name? What does he stand to loose? Lets compare US and Africa for a while, are there lessons our typical son-seeking African man should learn from the US or is it them that should learn from Africa
No, the name, Obama, wont be extinct in the near future, as he has half-brothers who would perpetuate his family name to future generations. But even if, a child is a child, be it girl or boy.

Ok. I had wanted to ask you if you knew the Nentys and Eduoks in Staff school. They were staying at the quarters and now based in the USA. I lost contact with them when they left Hope Waddell for the US.
Have you tried searching for them on facebook?

Mine was Mrs Ekpoh (RIP) of the University of Calabar Staff School. I was in grade 2 when she was my teacher and I grew to like her classes and the subjects like Mathematics and English. I still remember reading her glowing comment on my report sheet in my grade 2, that I was "good at reading, even difficult words." I think I might have been her favorite pupil at staff school, or maybe one of her favorites and she and my mom sort of became acquainted. She is late now, she died few years ago, I was very sad. Her brother is married to one of my cousins. What a small world, may her soul rest in peace, Amen.

Dr. Wise, when did you finish at Army Secondary school?

P/S: I hope this doesnt include grad school advisors.
Christianity EtcRe: Can Death-bed Repentance Lead A PersonTo Heaven? Many People Are Banking On This by Ndipe(m): 11:14pm On Oct 22, 2012
Very interesting topic, but if you know what is right, then why postpone it until the last minute, or do you think that God, the Omniscient Supreme Being who knows the intent of our heart would casually look at a fellow's intent to steal, rob and do all sorts of atrocities, with hopes that they would repent at the last minute? I am not perfect and I pray to God to guide me in His Grace.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Celebrating Halloween Harmless? by Ndipe(m): 11:02pm On Oct 20, 2012
inurmind: Poor kids. You can as well ban them from watching disney and nick and all the other kid channels since people say they are controlled by illuminatti.
Not even Dora the explorer is suitable.
Also ban them from celebrating christmas on the 25th of december since it also has pagan origins.
Then u can ban them from going to school because u never know who's who.
Please realise that inorder to raise healthy and happy children you should allow them go through the wonderful experiences that other kids go through. What memories would they be able to share with others and even your grand kids except ''Momma banned me from doing it. Never understood why.''

I mean, what harm has trick or treaty done to your kids apart from making them happy?
So, you are depriving kids of their childhood because they are not allowed to partake in halloween activities? (smh)
Christianity EtcRe: Is Celebrating Halloween Harmless? by Ndipe(m): 10:57pm On Oct 20, 2012
JeSoul: I don't understand the point of halloween.

And this is not based on the "it has pagan roots" etc etc or else there is plenty in our lives (christians) we would not celebrate at all. Not everything has to be "scriptural" before you ban or not ban it.

My argument is on the surface, basic instinct - what is fun in the idea of celebrating terror, death, gore, blood, evil, horror, darkness etc etc?? huh I just don't see it. Our rational sensibilities would tell us that its odd - if not for society has accepted it as 'normal'. Someone will say its just fun for the kids to dress up & get candy - can't I give my kids candy without dressing them up in ridiculous looking costumes in the name of whatever?

^just my 2cents.

I was doing a research about Mansa Musa some weeks ago and read the conclusion by certain historians that he was the richest man who ever lived. Dunno how true it is, but I have read about his fabled wealth, generousity, pilgrimage to Mecca where he gave so much money that led to inflation in Egypt for years.
FamilyRe: I Am Scared To Leave My Fiance Behind For My Studies by Ndipe(m): 3:49am On Oct 10, 2012
[quote author=remmyton]Please house I need ur advice.

Me and my fiance have been together for five years now. In those years, we have had a lot of obstacles and problems, but we have been able to overcome them

Now, there is a bigger problem, I got an admission to study medicine in London, my visa is ready too, I don't trust my fiance to keep faithful while I am away, cos I have always had this feeling that he is not faithful now. But, he has always sworn that since we started dating he has not seen another woman, but I wonder who is chibaby n others on his Whatsapp, I know all his cousins and relatives.

He is one who foot all the expenses of this travel, we are engaged, but all these does not keep my mind at rest, he loves me, I know, I don't understand why I don't trust him, maybe because men are d biggest liars or my emotions are deceiving me cos he is my first love.

I am just confused instead of happy I am going outside to study.

House I am asking for your opinion here, should I date another man while I am in London or should I just be faithful as I have always been. Duration of my stay in London is six to seven years, how do I cope with this feeling.

If you dont trust your fiancee, why are you still with him?
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Wisdom For Christians To Lie In Some Situations? by Ndipe(m): 9:02pm On Oct 04, 2012
anonimi: Is hiding the truth not liehuh
Apart from Abraham there are many more leading Bible figures who lied when in "tight" or not so tight circumstances:

* Jacob, who became Israel, lied to his father by pretending to be his brother Esau.
* David lied by pretending to be a mad man to save his life.
* Peter lied about knbowing Jesus to save himself from embarrasment shocked

Etc etc.
Jacob paid a huge price for using deceit in stealing his brother's birthright. Originally, he was supposed to be the recipient of it, according to Biblical prophecy, but he went about it the wrong way.
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Wisdom For Christians To Lie In Some Situations? by Ndipe(m): 9:01pm On Oct 04, 2012
It's a question that I have always wondered and asked myself. Look at Rahab who lied when her towns people came to her house demanding the whereabouts of the spies. And she never told them that she had hidden them.

Or imagine this scenario, if a thief breaks into a house demanding to kill the head of the family who is hidden in an undisclosed location in the house, should the wife (who is a born again christian) be honest by revealing this location to have her husband killed or lie that her husband is around? Food for thought.

From Ali n Simbi,Mr and Mrs Salami to “Edet lives in calabar,he is 8 yrs old“ to Emeka,Kunle and Wakama. Oh...! Rose and Gloria, does anyone remember their story of going to the theater and were stormd by rain...?
Are Rose and Gloria, the story of two friends who got lost while visiting their friend at GRA in PH on a rainy day? While roaming around from directions given to them, by two passersby, their friend called out their names to their relief. I think that's the one.

Agbo was sick while taking one of his exams. He contemplated telling the teacher that he was sick, but decided against it, because he felt the teacher would assume he was simply faking and the reason was that he did not know the answers to the questions. When he got home, his mom asked him about the exams and he told him about his illness. She said that he should have told her and she would have told him to stay back. When the results came out, he scored very low and when the teacher inquired, he chalked it up to his previous illness.

Who are the authors of those books? I liked reading them.

FamilyRe: Most Heart-touching Life Experience Your Parents Ever Shared With You by Ndipe(m):
Ok, this wasnt from my parents but my maternal grandmother shared this with me.

Against my grandfather's objections, my grandmother had my mom enrolled in primary school. In those days, female education in Ibibioland was considered a waste of resources, (for a woman was expected to leave her family house and get married) and my grandfather held fervently to those norms. He threatened to deal with my grandma if their first daughter (my mom) got pregnant. An out of wedlock pregnancy for an Adiaha (first daughter) was scandalous in those days, because every man wanted to chop an okukim (a white ram given to the parents during the marriage of the first daughter) Yet my grandma risked it all for my mom's sake. while imploring her not to fall for the wiles of men. My mom obeyed her, studied hard and later on moved to the USA, the first person in her family to travel to the USA which was in the 60's after she got married to my dad. When she came back, the following year, she bought a car. Dissenters couldnt believe that it was possible for a woman to buy a car in those dayss. Infact, one guy tried to convince me that it was my father who actually bought the car for her. When my mom's younger sister got married, their dad (my grandfather) out of gratitude and appreciation presented my mom bales of wrappers because as he put it, she was the first to open the door for her younger sister. Though my parents are late, I still admire the zeal they put in to ensure we became educated.
