Please help pass this to Mukina2. Sallam Alaikum sister, I was hoping you will post a new topic today in POLITICS section so I could sneak in my thank you. . . I received your birthday wish and want to say God Bless you and thanks!! |
Im for any policy and action that will wipe boko out of existence, permanently. . . . never to be resurrected as a new group in 3 orr 4 yrs from now. However, the topic asks the wrong question! |
@topic. . . . .technically, after years of terror, isnt that the same treatment that MEND got with its amnesty and training package? |
Igbo land does not connect to the sea, however there are 4 deep sea ports located in warri, port harcourt, Onne (south of PH) and Calabar. Igbos in lagos have the choice to ship their products to any of those locations but they choose to go through Lagos.A lot of these guys in Lagos that have succeeded in the typical fake product marketing are what in the igbo society would be called "osu". It does not matter how successful or well educated they are, their society discriminate against them. They are an outcast in that society and the osu stigma is lifelong. They cannot hold titles or lead the igbo tribe. Their relevance is limited to fellow osus like themselves. As a result, they take any slight opportunity to get out of their discriminating society and go live in societies outside iboland that are more liberal and embracing of their humanity. Once they leave most never look back home. This is why inspite of many years of killing and oppression in North, they still prefer and loved that region far more than the oppression and indignity suffered in the hands of their own people back home. For this reason, iboland is deserted. It is not the industriousness that make them leave. . . they can be just as industrious on their soil, but rather the crime against their humanity. They will never use ports in East, even if you dredge the Delta and bring the sea into iboland and build a world class harbour and port in there. . . . these guys will not go to iboland. Hence, as new structures and facilities are built in East. . . there is hardly anyone to use them and so they lay underutilized. A waste of money! It is not a seaport that ibos need to go back home. . . . it is abolition of the osu caste. |
Eh, we have nothing in common with Fulani, aside from certain events in Ilorin.woo, let me clarify before people start misquoting me. I never said we have commonality with Fulani. I said there were alliances that sought to entrench interests, inter-exchanges, including marriage being one of them . Anyone can quote me on that. ![]() |
Ekt, The inter-exchange between Yoruba and Fulani is deeply interwoven. In the old days, allied tribes sought to entrench their interests in foreign palaces through marriages and childbirth. By mixing blood you mitigate threats and increase partnership. As much Yoruba blood can be found in Fulani palaces, you can also look in Yoruba palaces and trace some. Even down to Lagos, Fulani had raised children in that palace. Shymmex. . . . .exotic is a lost case, I have zero tolerance for his type. |
Quote from: Obiagu1 on Yesterday at 11:45:38 PM. . . .another Ogbuefi. Incremental encroachment fed by their land grab campaign. |
There is no doubt he is better than your father in every human endeavor baring none. I guess you know where it leaves your father with boneheaded statement you made about a man old enough to be your father. so is your generation on your pa side? Have your father ever had opportunity to be interviewed by any press? You see, ibos with their thin skins and sensitivity to insult and harassment. All the guy said was Ezeife is a clown. But yet you want to roll with big boys in the game of bullying. I pity una! |
We prefer to have a leg in North and Kwara is our political leg, firmly planted in North. Itsekiri in Delta. . . our political leg firmly planted in SS. Ibos lack political understanding and so I dont expect you to understand the relevance and strategy of having representation in different geo-political regions. |
Why is Delta not in this meeting? I think the SW are realising that Delta state is gone from the old West.West is not Ibo land. We dont threaten people to become one of us. If Delta wants to join and feel it adds value to their development they will indicate so and appropriately join. They speak for themselves, we dont speak for them. |
Another ibo generated insult against other regions. Keep it coming! A most distressing revelation awaits you. . . . .one you never thought could be digged up on your history. |
I am from a noble Igbo family that was chosen to become a royal family when the Igbos began to have kings in imitation of their neighbors; the Igala, and the BiniHere is what one of the princes of that imitated title said. You dont have to listen to me. Listen to your own prince. |
The problem with you ibos is you have thin skin for debating issues without getting offended and whining or resorting to tale of victimization. Everyone in Nigeria knows. . . everyone, when it comes to greatness in this country, you are the lowest of the low. You are a manufactured majority tribe, thanks to Lugard. Before he stepped foot here the Ibibios and the Igalla and Binis were the rulers and domain sovereignties in West and East of Niger. It is documented. Would you like me to bare your a s ses in the harmattan wind again? Do you want me to bring the record out and quash this argument once and for all? ![]() |
so instead of yorubas and igbos to appreciate the similarities between them, they keep fighting over pettiness and celebrate their differences while claiming to be share similarities with edo. errr, it doesnt work that way. edo is in this unique position because of its location and the authority it once commanded.Culturally, there has never been a similarity between Yoruba and Igbo, and there is never going to be one. We are talking about cultural unity, not geographic placement. In fact even in geography, Edo is not the midway between West and East. Bini did not create monarchy for Yoruba but Bini created monarchy for Igbo. Huge difference!! |
and present a concrete evidence of the relationship between edos and yorubas. . . . what other form of account or evidence is more concrete than a narrative on one side that is corroborated and acknowledged on the other side? What are you looking for. . . . dna? |
good point sbeezy! whichever you approach it. . . from the Bini account or from the Ife account, neither one denies brotherhood of the other and their common ancestral bond. If you dont believe the Yoruba account, then take the Bini account that is trustworthy and it brings you that conclusion of common ancestry with Yoruba. If you dont trust Bini account but believe Yoruba, then follow that and you will still arrive at the same common root. |
Before British colonialism, the Igbo were a politically fragmented group. There were variations in culture such as in art styles, attire and religious practices. Various subgroups were organized by clan, lineage, village affiliation, and dialect. There were not many centralized chiefdoms, hereditary aristocracy, or kingship customs except in kingdoms such as those of the Nri, Arochukwu, Agbor and Onitsha. This political system changed significantly under British colonialism in the 19th century; Eze (kings) were introduced into most local communities by Frederick Lugard as "Warrant Chiefs I am from a noble Igbo family that was chosen to become a royal family when the Igbos began to have kings in imitation of their neighbors; the Igala, and the Bini.Look at the above. It is documented that Igbo majority and entry into Kingship and civilization was facilitated by non-igbos. Edo and Yoruba are one family. . . .Odudua ancestry. Modern politics and increased assertion for geo-political quotas and representation has fuelled rivalry for independence. If the question of state creation and quotas disappear, which will happen when the country dissolves. . . the Edos will naturally reclaim their bond and rightful place in their ancestral home. |
Mukina2 is the best!!! Mukina, I received your well wishes for my birthday. . . mmmuuah!! God Bless you sista! |
Maddock thanks for exposing those gaps between the various cabinet groups. Very pathetic!! |
Negro whistles in ibo ![]() |
why the place no go clean when most of them ran away, spread like cockroach all over the world? ![]() To determine which town is cleanest, you have to factor in the population density, which generate most of the waste and litter. . . and as well the industrial development which also pollute the air, water and land. If you have a town where the streets are clean and litter free, more than likely population density is sparse and less compared to a city that generate higher production of litter and waste per million persons. |
This relatively insignificant attack is a reminder of our presence in the creeks of the Niger Delta and a sign of things to come.Busshyyt! Gbomo Gbomo is ranting nonsense!! MEND and GEJ are in the same camp. The increase in voice of those accusing GE of implicit support for MEND has given the camp a motive to show separation. This stupid act and the attached anti-Gej statement was premeditated as a PR spin. Which Delta group or person do you know that is anti-Gej? . . . . . and MEND of all people! If they trully want to prove to us they hate Gej, they should go bomb Abuja and create turbulence for his government. Dont let their anti-Gej antics fool ya! |
darapture, If my response seem too broad its because the proposition you tabled has a broad and multifaceted scenarios and contact points to it. The protectorate will face many problems, one of which is the same problem that beset the American black neighborhoods today will be transplanted in the new land, the other is because you are not insulated from the rest of Africans, the generic problem of corruption and bad leadership will infect your protectorate. At the end of the day you will regret leaving America. I see you put two pictures, one of an African rural coastal town and the other of, I believe Chicago or, a metro city in America. You dont need to come to Africa if thats your reason for resettling your ancestral roots. You should be concerned more with culture, regaining the lost philosophies, healing and alignment of the spirit back to its cosmic awakening, ryhtmic and artistic balance. . . . If you build a city like Chicago in Africa then be prepared to build a similar city in every country so that people do not abandon their lands and flood into your land and overwhelm your infrastructures into stagnation and decay. |
If you look in any African American neighborhood in US you will notice that the economy is usually around the following types of services - gas station and corner store, laundromat, cash checking place, bill payments and payday loans, fast tax filing and returns, hair, nail and saloon, barber shop, hotels and motels, pawn shops, restaurant and churches. Out of all these it is only the churches, restaurants, the hair sallon and the barbaer shop that is owned by the black people. The gas station and corner store, laundromat, cash checking, bill payment, pay day loan, tax filing, hair and nail shop as well pawn shops are wholly owned and controlled by foreigners. This is today! It wasnt like that at all in the 60s. Blacks controlled most of the economy in their hoods. . . except a few in the hands of Jews. When the Jews started to leave they sold ownerships to the Indians and Pakistanis. In fact blacks businesses started going bankrupt and they sold out their control to the new comers. The damage had a lot to do with narcotic drugs and crime into the hood. Now, take that concept and overlay it into Africa. You get the exact same outcome! Our drug is not narcotics. . . . we are addicted to corruption and self interest. We kicked colonial masters out and they were replaced by well educated and meaningful leaders with great vision. . . but we killed them off one at atime until there is nothing left to guide us and in that state of vulnerability and loss. . . a new master stepped in and filled the gap. Now we have new colonialists. So your picture of Indian, Chinese, Koreans controlling our continent is accurate. What I mean by vulnerable is to say that you cannot operate a mini America within Africa, you will kill of your designated zone if you do that. You must by nature of preservation interact and partner with rest of Africa for viability. Africans today fight 100yrs old wars on disputed territorial ownership. So to get a safeguard against a claim on your land. . . . there has to be a protectorate that all parties signing the trearty agree to. This will have to be done at an institutionalized level to succeed. The authority responsible to carry that out is addicted to the corruption fed by chinese and korea and america and eruurope. . . . Africa is high on its own crack! Approaching this question in the alternate path of individual sponsorship and adoption removes the risks of that communal vulnerability and reduces it to individual level. The damage, if any, is far smaller and the gains are far greater. |
Beaf, dont irritate people with your toys. Take them to the creek and play with. Yeye! ![]() |
Sam, Let me first say that I was shocked to see the response I referenced. You are always calm asnd guided in your interaction. For that, yes, I commend you and I would give a wide latitude to hear your views than I would most others. You are not an Ibo. . . . you, my friend are an Ndigbo! You should have been the one enthroned as Eze N'dIgbo of N'Land. . . . not that rascal called Onlytruth. You are balanced and seek ways to repair and bring people together even in the middle of a bad bashing and attack on your people. You are Igbo but you have the spirit of a Yoruba son. . . .iwa pele (you are humble) and omo lua bi (you are upright). So it shocked me to see that from you, but you are human and there is limit to what the individual can take in insults. Once upon a time, Igbo shared mutual respect with Yorubas. In fact Yoruba elites in Lagos embraced Igbos as brothers back in the days. We cannot say the same today. What has changed? Once upon a time here on NL, we discussed political issues with fairness and balance. . . . Yorubas and Igbos expressed unibiased views regardless who the subject of discussion was. It is no longer that way. So what has changed? No one tribe in Nigeria is a saint. . . we are all guilty to certain degree of asserting our regional interests above and over the patriotic interest of the country. This is good competition and rivalry. What is bad and distasteful is when one tribe charge falsehood and insults at another tribe. Of all the tribes that converge here in NL, Igbo tribe is guilty of this. Others were forced out of their shell and compelled to ward off the insults after several unheeded warnings. I am proud of my Yoruba heritage and I can say it loud and clear. . . . but it is not good for me to start demonizing Igbo or Hausa to legitimize my pride in Oodua. If I cant find anything worthy to show my pride in then Im better off not insulting others at all. Your brothers need to check themselves if Igbo bashing muist stop here in NL. It is unfortunate that it rubs off on good people like yourself. Particularly in this turbulent times when you are evacuating yoru people from North. . . . it is best not to antagonize and cause an eruption in West that forces another regional evacuation of your people. I agree Nigeria needs to be dissolved. . . I am a strong advocate for that. Oodua nourisghes my spirit and body far better than Nigeria can ever hope to do. Online enmity can translate into street enmity. . . all it needs is a trigger. None of us know what or how, or even who might activate the trigger. I opened this thread as a response to ones opened by your brothers questioning North and West's contribution. Never understimate capabilities on the other side. |
My advise to ndibos. . . . stop throwing shyyt out there, it doesn't matter what you throw out it will beat your imagination when a response arrives on your screen, . . and we all know you have a thin skin for humiliation. Protect and shield yourself from constant beating by remaining conservative instead of boisterous and loud. |
Well, an Itsekiri from Ogbe IjawObi, you are insinuating that Ijaw own that land. Well, there is a town I cant remember if its in Enugu, Anambra or Imo called 'Agbu or Agwu-Ekiti. Does it mean its owned by Yoruba since it has Ekiti in its name? |
Ah, ah,. . . yanzu ina Amurka, Atlanta. A Ikko aka haife ni amma na yi girma a Birnin Kano da kuma makaranta a Zaria. Na jin bayani'n ka da Dayo gamme da girman naka a Bauchi da karatu a GSS. |
Hey Alhj. . .check this, I got this owambe tonight and need a bling for this attire. Help a brother out. . .

South East produce nothing, right? Yet when they wanted to secede (and still want to), the rest of Nigeria said no and fought them. Something must be wrong with you Nigerians. No, when they rebelled Nigeria got the whip out! |
Presido, that was sarcasm to mock the SS/SE coalition. Jason knows there is no way Delta in its current composition will fold into that blue zone. Everybody knows that except maybe the Ibos, intoxicated in their land grab campaign. |
