Christianity EtcThe Power Of Words by Newsbreakers(op): 5:45pm On Jul 16, 2018
I have always had a special love for words. Words have such power in them. The right words can uplift, inspire, heal, and create endless joy and love in our lives. The wrong words can depress, discourage, hurt, and bring us endless misery and pain. It is so very important then to try and choose the right words in our lives. By choosing the right words I don’t just mean saying the right words or writing the right words either. I also mean thinking the right words. It is amazing the garbage that so many of us allow ourselves to think each and every day of our lives.

In order to live a truly blessed life we must haul away the garbage and start to plant words that will grow into a garden of joy and light in our minds. Start today then to make the words in your life work for you and not against you. Do away with “can’t” and “no”. Try “can” and “yes” instead.

Say, “I can be happy, I can choose joy, and I can share love.” Say, “Yes” to life, to learning, and to growth. Begin to use words like: Wonderful, Beautiful, and Delightful when you speak to others. Find a word of praise for everyone you know and then share it with them. Look the people you love straight in the eye and tell them, “I love you.” Seek our every fantastic, fabulous, and glorious word that you can and start to use them in your life.

Words are such simple things and yet they have the power to change our lives forever if we use them right. Make the choice every day of your life to use all of the good, positive, and loving words you can every second that you can. If you do this you will find that your life will become a paradise of love and joy, that other people will become your brothers and sisters in happiness, and that God’s goodness will shine through every word you use….

Meditation: Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. – Ephesians 4:29

You will succeed in Jesus Name!

CROATIAN STARS CITE ENGLAND’S ALLEGED DISRESPECT AS MOTIVATION FOR SEMI-FINAL VICTORY
Mind what you say about your opponent when you are going into any battle. That was the message Croatia’s players told England after beating the Three Lions in the second semi-final of the on-going World Cup in Moscow, Russia.

Before the game, which attracted over 60,000 fans to the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow, the English media and the people were all about how football was returning to England, the home of its birth. They did not give any other team chance of winning the trophy, which they last won in 1966.

There were stories of how English expatriate workers took the game to Croatia more than 100 years, organised the first matches in the then Yugoslavia enclave and taught the people how to play it. The summation was that the masters were about to take back their game.

HOW DIGITAL IS HELPING THE GROWTH OF NIGERIA’S MUSIC INDUSTRY

Back in its early days, the contemporary Nigerian music industry’s focus revenue-wise was limited to physical music sales, fees from appearances and shows and for the more popular artists, endorsement fees from brands and companies who felt they could transfer their brand meanings to products and services. Those days are long gone as increased penetration of the internet has brought about new revenue models, thereby necessitating that artists look for more technological means to market their music and brands.

A systematic approach to Music Marketing is relatively new in these parts, and the norm has been music creators putting the basic principles of retail marketing to bear: introduce a product (song/album), advertise (promote) it until there is consistent need for the product, watch revenues shoot through the roof, rinse and repeat. Barely was there a scientific effort to gather data on consumer trends and create content and marketing campaigns based on this data. The market was a free for all, and the loudest brands thrived and excelled.

WHY YOU SHOULD HIRE EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT EMPLOYEES
Perhaps you’ve heard the saying, “hire hard, manage easy.” This implies that having a well thought-out hiring strategy can lead to on-boarding employees that best fit your company culture. This saying certainly holds true in today’s age, where having a cohesive culture has become essential for a strong business.

Making a good hiring decision starts by creating a highly detailed and specific job description designed to flesh out the best applicants. In general, your job description should include the specific skill set you look for in an employee. For a great web programmer, this may be using JavaScript to code. For a sales representative, this may be previous experience in sales in your industry.

MOHAMED SALAH’S NEW CONTRACT SHOWS BELIEF IN LIVERPOOL, SAYS JURGEN KLOPP
Egyptian international Mohamed Salah’s stunning first season with English Premier League side Liverpool earned him a long-term contract with the club on Monday. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said the fact the 26-year-old striker — who scored 44 goals in just 52 appearances last season — signed such a deal reflected his belief the club were on course for a successful era.

Salah’s goals played a large part in Liverpool reaching the Champions League final against Real Madrid. However, that proved a rare sour note for the player as Salah was slammed to the turf by Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, causing a painful separation of his left shoulder.

Salah returned to action for the first time in three weeks against Russia at the World Cup in their group match last month but was a shadow of the player that had dazzled for Liverpool and earned him the Africa player of the year award.

But he did not play a significant role last season because he had fallen down the pecking order, making only 16 appearances after signing a one-year contract extension. In May, Guardiola confirmed Toure would be leaving the club.

BUHARI AND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WARS: WHO IS IT FOR?
Since 1999, Nigeria has built a history of intense struggle between the legislature and executive and we are still enthralled by the circus. Unless…the majority of Nigerians ask: What is the struggle in aid of? Does it strengthen our democracy and will we collectively be better off for it?

The Nigerian presidential model was adopted from the United States of America and their system is designed to be contentious because each arm serves as a check on the others. The checks and balances are meant to ensure that no one arm of government becomes so powerful that they can abuse their powers and destroy the ‘republic’.
