Is not too late oh... slay mama looking fresh! |
Amberon11:I don't understand how you have come to that conclusion, especially as a medical student. A quick google for "is homosexuality genetic" brings up articles from peer-reviewed journals that seek to answer the question. Again, nobody is sure, but the evidence points there. As a scientist myself, the only thing I've learned is that we're always discovering new answers and a lot of times our previous understandings of nature were incomplete, or downright wrong. One4me:tenets of Darwin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwinism - emphasis mine: - More individuals are produced each generation that can survive. - Phenotypic variation exists among individuals and the variation is heritable. (genetic) - Those individuals with heritable traits better suited to the environment will survive. - When reproductive isolation occurs new species will form. As science progresses, we've also moved on to the theory of Modern Synthesis, which has eclipsed the theory (not disproved, just displaced) of Darwinism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_synthesis_(20th_century) Verifiable, peer-reviewed statistics (and certainly not bullcrap out-of-the-air): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_sexual_orientation which contains a ton of citations. I said it was genetic, and still insist on it. It also has 'environmental and hormonal influences' ... how is that any kind of contradiction? Don't genetics influence hormones? E.g. estrogen - a hormone - is produced more in women and is responsible for the development of female secondary sexual characteristics... but it's a woman's genetic makeup that causes more estrogen to be produced. |
This is how these bloggers and OAPs ferment jealousy and unnecessary competition among our ladies. The've already made one between Yemi and Tiwa. Now they want to add Simi to the fray. Our industry needs all the varieties of queens, there are not enough of them, and rather than promote them, we're starting to tear them down (for traffic/selfish reasons). I enjoy BOTH ladies and the songs they sing. Each one has her different tones and moods. But seriously, why are you not asleep? I woke up to go piss and said let me check my phone... you people nko? ![]() |
Amberon11:Actually, the current understanding by the scientific community is that it does have to do with genetics... see my comments in https://www.nairaland.com/4621437/dewy-oputa-charly-boys-lesbian/3#69448806 |
One4me:Nothing was slipped into anywhere, since this was a topic about somebody being gay. Well, it's one not 1 of four, but at least 1 of 20 or so, based on statistics, though many are bullied by society to be "normal". They have always existed, from Ancient Greece, to the Benin Empire, to modern Nigeria and it's only in recent decades that some societies are becoming more tolerant. Ironically, in West Africa "There is historical evidence of homosexuality in Ghana. In the 18th and 19th century, Asante courts (modern day Ghana) male slaves served as concubines. They dressed like women and were killed when their master died. In the Kingdom of Dahomey, eunuchs were known as royal wives and played an important part at court." [1] In Yoruba, we have the word "adofuro", and in Hausa "yan daudu", words that existed way before the West brought their Christianity that gave justifications for being hateful towards human beings that have a different orientation from the norm. Funny, this same West is now preaching tolerance and scientific understanding, yet many Africans are still stuck on their old teachings ![]() Evidence of homosexuality has also been found in 2000-year-old rock paintings in southern Africa depicting men having sex with other men.[2] Nobody really understands how, or why, but the current understanding is that being gay or straight is "caused by a complex interplay of genetic, hormonal, and environmental influences." Please read the first two paragraphs of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality with an open mind, just to understand what the scientific evidence and basis are. Remember, the objective pursuit of scientific evidence is what brought us antibiotics, airplanes, air conditioning, pain killers, nuclear energy, clean water, and cellphones. The same that enables heart surgery, enhances the survival of premature babies, sends gps signals from satellites in space, and rockets to other planets. The other doctrines of "thou shalt not", really don't do much, in terms of enhancing understanding or easing human suffering. These are the same doctrines that were used to justify slavery, spousal abuse, the current wave of terrorism (killing many innocent people), and many other things we now understand to be unjust. Just saying... Notes: 1. Of course there are people who have (according to you, and maybe I) perverted choices, but you can find those in either straight or gay communities. 2. Please, I don't have to be gay to have an open mind, based on scientific evidence. References: [1][2] Anthony Appiah and Henry Louis Gates, Encyclopedia of Africa, Volume 2 OUP, USA, 2010 |
mybestlove:I'm not saying that at all.. in fact family has the ultimate role in shaping a child. However, a family's training cannot change the genetics that determine how tall a child will be (unless they stunt growth via starvation), or how dark her skin is, or the shape of her eyes, whether her voice will be high or gravelly, or whether she's gay. I am of the view that these are genetic variations, and they've always been with us. There's a long long history of communities tabooing being gay, in the same way there was a taboo on being a twin, or on some other variation of nature that somehow did not fit in well with that society's idea of "what is right" |
mybestlove:Sigh... this is obviously nonsense. We have many examples of gay children who come from so called "wholesome" families. We also have plenty straight children whose parent identifies as gay. Or, in this case, do you want to extend the "gay gene" to her grandfather, Judge Oputa, and the rest of his ancestors? At what point do you realize that these are individual dispositions, just like being the tall or light one in the family? |
Oh Dewy... honey... we knew... I was secretly hoping you weren't but all those fierce poses... classic butch ![]() And yes, I'm sure lots of girls were secretly in your DM too... don't lie. Cute girl, too... |
America... number 1 source of scammers and fraud... Ours is child's play compared to theirs', which is just very polished... ![]() But seriously, this guy got casted really fast. |
scribble:But they are incredibly strong oh... don't let that fufu stomach fool you. Nigeria is the best gym in the world. You will run from thieves, sit on okada, carry water, jump from danfo, walk 20km, go up 3 flights of stairs with keg of petrol, and so many body toning activities. ![]() |
And who voted in the current president? People talk as if PMB elected himself. ![]() After all those people made noise and put a fossil in office, they turn around to complain that a fossil is in office ![]() |
countsparrow:Gbam!! Sanest comment I've seen on this topic. But who is that fine sis in black? She no get name? |
Let them come and stop the killings na. To protest from abroad is easy, but to actually come home and make a difference is hard ![]() |
Oblongata:My brother, I did all the above: private surveyor, lands and survey, agent, lawyer, asked community peoples, and wrote a check... and I still had to pay twice. Very few people I know have bought private land without issues. Maybe I would add: check the courts for any pending/ongoing cases involving the land. Our seller didn't say he was involved in a long legal tussle with another person, with plenty k-leg and ancient history. This was what happened to me and after 3 months of wasting money on police, security, lawyers: I eventually just settled because the guy (old man oh!) and his thugs will pursue my workers after we've already mixed cement, or break the building, or demolish wood stairs. I even got the broad end of a cutlass on my arm. It would have been cheaper just to budget 2x for the land. This is in my own area of Asaba INTEGRITYA1:So here's a very serious question, how would you a realtor have foreseen all this and prevented this experience? I mean, your steps are sound in theory, but I still ended up paying twice... |
First of all, cost of living in Kaduna is way better. So earning 750k in Kaduna is like almost 1.2m in Lagos (housing, transport, food, Ambode's various taxes, etc). This is a no-brainer, the guy should relocate. He will lead a less stressful life, though he won't like the night life ![]() |
... All is see is PMB going after yet another PDP ex-governor... partisan politics masquerading as anti-corruption yinmu |
It's like people are itching to vote PMB out... I hope all these celebrities will come out and vote, and not say that the line is too long or the heat is too mush. ![]() |
InvertedHammer:There's a lot of value is seeing things from a drone/satellite view. You get ideas for where is developing, where there might be space for a new development, opportunities for farming, and industry. You can also have a better idea of what is going on, places you can't really see from the street because they are surrounded by trees: I often use google maps to zoom over parts of Nigeria and what I see is often impressive. |
Abbeyme:... I'm looking around to see if we're still in Nigeria, or if we're somehow in obodo oyinbo... What's this talk of "recourse to manufacturers advice" and brand erosion. Nigeria where cars are routinely panel beaten and patched from three manufacturers ... ![]() |
otunbabadok:Note they say "knows how to program" ... not that "he's into yahoo yahoo or drugs", that's why he's name is Femi ![]() (I'm from Asaba, so no vex) ![]() |
T, don't you every apologize for living your life and enjoying it. Most people who take offense don't matter, and the people who matter don't care. Play on player. Gb'ọmọ merin is a goal jọ

Philpham:Sigh... and the counterexamples: USA, Japan, China, Spain, France, are thriving countries who have not had female presidents/Vice Presidents (albeit the US has had numerous governors who were women, and France did have one prime minister). More to the point though, the vast majority of these countries did not even allow women to vote, much less hold office, until as late as 1900s. I'm for gender equality, but I don't think your attribution of Nigeria's failure to gender is accurate. |
petkoffdrake2:I used to think so, but the examples of Stella Oduah, Deziani Alison-Madueke, Patience Jonathan, Kemi Adeosun, etc. have disabused me of that notion. We need good people, of either gender, and we've seen precious few. |
dat9jaguy:We're thankful that he didn't get in the way and stall the project. However, the idea, the rights-of-way, the contracts, the stations, the tracks sef... all were in motion way before PMB got into office. But still, at least, he saw it to completion... we just want the facts to be known so he and his party of liars won't make it a campaign point, because the previous 3 administrations did 90% of the work. |
Can we please show some respect to a dearly departed soul? This was an unfortunate accident and I feel that making fun or advertising in this particular topic is callous at best. RIP, dear boy I can't imagine his mother's heartbreak when she hears of this |
Bisi DSL... I see you... if you know, you know ![]() |
All thanks to Stella the Stealer ![]() And they still went ahead to choose her for senate? MaziOmenuko:Indeed. They are the same people pocketing funding and junketing out, now they want to pin the blame on somebody else. KanwuliaExtra:Yes oh... we need to mention Stella... if she had spent the money on the airport instead of bulletproof vehicles, the airport and runway would be in much better shape. Even now - though she's a senator to Anambra - can she not spend some time to say "how far with that airport?" and joining hands with Enugu senators, continue to help to improve Igbo land, in any way? I know it's not in her constituency, but still... |
emeijeh:Nobody forced the old man to go and marry somebody his grand daughter's age... unfortunately for the woman, she's going to be harassed by all his relatives who would do anything to deny her legal rights to property |
ghostfacekillar:History put us together, and it's now up to the Black man to decide to either continue wallowing in helpless self-pity, or to transform our societies. |
Uglymugg:Yes, they deserve it. They've solved all the basic issues in society (water, light, food, good roads, jobs, security, law&order,) and don't need to waste precious hours dealing with things we're still struggling with here... |
