Dynatress700:This has got to be the best advice OP could get on this forum. Nothing for me to add except I've been in your situation. We've been married happily for 11 years now with a total of 4 children. All the initial fears and tears from our parents are distant memories, and I'm happy we made the decisions we made. |
wao wao wao wao... I sound like a siren, but hott damn!!!! This girl is lovely. ![]()

Nice move social media warriors! Don't forget to get you PVC and actually vote out his ultimate boss. |
SMH... because people wearing tattoos are the ones who ruined this country abi? ![]() |
earnvest:OK let's be clear: National Assembly is made up of two units: House of Representatives, and the Senate, and both have to cooperate for laws to be passed. He is saying he wants a unicameral legislature - and from the looks of things, only the House of Reps, while abolishing the Senate. I'm saying we want both: in the House, larger states carry more weight; in the Senate, smaller states carry more weight disproportionate to their population (each state gets the same 3 senators - Abuja gets 1 - regardless of population). That's the balance. Otherwise, the people in the larger states would always have their way, which is not fair to smaller states. If we kept only the Senate, then you get into a situation where each vote from a smaller state carries more weight than each vote from a larger state. Hence you need both Houses and ultimately the bills passed can be adjudged be be fair to all states. But all this is moot - we're ignoring the basic fact that the Senate would not agree to dissolve itself - a non-starter. Instead of promising what cannot be delivered, he should instead focus on what we need: constant and surplus power generation & distribution, with policies to stimulate economic growth. His comments on this is already bringing me to question his seriousness. This is not a serious discussion and is only made to whip up anger and sentiment for votes, moreso because any rational person can see that it can't happen, under the Constitution as it stands. The President has no power to change clause 47: "There shall be a National Assembly for the Federation which shall consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives." so why even bring it up as a campaign promise? |
aribisala0:You're right... more than one way to skin a cat. Just keep in mind that Decree 24 of 1999 was brought into place by the Federal Military Government, which is no longer in existence. This Constitution governs the Fourth Republic, and amending it requires the cooperation of NASS which is unlikely to erase itself. Abrogating it, well, that's not part of the Constitution. In other words, it's only possible with some extra-constitutional convention or some revolution. |
earnvest:Technically we have one representative per constituency, which usually consists of several LGAs. For instance, my representative, Ms. Hon. Joan Mrakpor represents the 4 LGAS of Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Oshimili North, and Oshimili South. I agree NASS overpays and they should in all fairness reduce their salaries. This is different from why we need two chambers. The point is to balance the interests of states with larger populations, against the interests of states with smaller. For instance, Lagos and Kano each have 24 representatives, and could easily override the interests of smaller states like Bayelsa (5) or Ekiti (6). Each state has 3 senators, so their senators balance out those interests to some degree. It's a really good system - though our current crop of senators have been MIA in terms of actually representing their states interests, and in terms of siphoning funds. Even on the issue of being overpaid, let me play devil's advocate: they spend a lot of that money in Nigeria (their fancy buildings, many cars and drivers, and all the people who derive their pay from them benefit in some way) I'm not really serious, but it's a thought experiment. |
Dead on Arrival. The only way it can happen is to change the Constitution with a motion that passes both the Senate, House, and ratified by most states. Good luck having Senators vote themselves out of existence. He should concentrate on realistic promises, and the only singular one I want to hear is how he's going to tackle power. Fix power, and everything else (industry in particular) would fall into place. In addition, if he can arrest the security situation and stop our penchant for randomly changing economic policy, we would grow. What the country needs is gainful employment, which can only be achieved when our teeming masses make the things we consume. This would in turn increase government's tax revenue, of which Senators' share becomes a smaller section. I know the NASS pays themselves way too much, but that's not within his power to unilaterally change, so he should concentrate on where he can make meaningful impact. |
cococandy:Nu uh sis... you got me figured out wrong. Unlike a lot of hypocrites, I'm one of the most positive, open-minded, affirmative Nigerian dudes you will ever meet. I'm as cool as December, smooth as China silk. Check out my posts and prove me wrong (if you care or have the time). I've always appreciated our ladies in all levels of clothing, any shape, and skin shade. |
Uglymugg:Yes, yes it is. Afterall that is nyash anyway. Some muscle, fat, and 75% water, held together by skin. But it's still sexy tho. ![]() She reminds me of one girl from Warri...

HolyHero:Me too ![]() (Bose, cancel all my other plans for tonight, I'm riding solo tonight) ![]() Hell yeah!!!!! And the girl can drop a few bars too... I really hope she blows up, like that Cardi chick... Let's click on her video and make her famous! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rD_vue4kr_c&feature=youtu.be

How can you price suitcase for 2600 Naira and expect real one? But seriously, somebody should have called to say: "are you sure this is what you want"? ![]() But seriously, look at the description my guy: "Generic Cute Plastic Rolling Suitcase Mini Luggage Box For BJD Dolls Color:Silver Height:17cm * 11.5cm * 8.2cm" "A good furniture for Barbie sized dollhouse, also a good item for collection.." Four key points: height is 17cm, barbie, dollhouse, and the thing looks like a toy. And somehow you still want to blame Jumia? Sorry to get so deep, but I've cried in recent memory only because of these pictures (graphic) https://www.nairaland.com/1926353/new-born-baby-rescued-alive https://www.nairaland.com/1305449/newborn-baby-found-trapped-sewer https://www.nairaland.com/3404283/kogi-state-polytechnic-student-aborts On those occasions, I read the news, and without realizing it, I started crying like a little child... about how somebody could be so cruel to an innocent person. I have small children myself, and I could not bare the thought of any of them being flushed or dumped like that... It takes me almost 10 minutes to recover... that's the only thing in this world that would make me cry. That is why I support places like Rose Ilogbo's Orphanage (Ughelli, Delta) https://www.facebook.com/roseilogboorphanage/ https://www.nairaland.com/4042173/rose-ilogbo-orphanage-motherless-babies and Port Harcourt Children's Home https://www.nairaland.com/2887232/visit-motherless-home-pics among many others. I wish I could do more, and I wish we had support systems for mother and child, and for young mothers to be aware they have support. (Please DO NOT like this post)... |
No problem, after the coming winter and no job wires them, those 75 will be begging to be repatriated. Then they will be disturbing us with "please come to our aid", "Russia is hard" and other wailings. Money that can start a better business here, wasted to go and abscond to Russia. |
This conversation is very very familiar to me... I really hate the part where the girl says: "ehn... these my friends even pressured me to go out with you..." Dat tin pain me eh. So I should thank them with 7k takeaway abi? Did they find me a contract or job? Abeg, man's not hot. ![]() Weeks later, girl wants to ping me and find out what's up. Ignored, since the semester was starting and I knew girls were looking for textbook money. EVILFOREST:That's why I stopped looking at university or even new graduates. If you're not able to meet your own needs with the knowledge in your head, I'm not interested... I'm tired of adopting another hungry mouth. If konji dey worry person, 3k highest can solve that one. |
PUSSYHOE:It's not wrong, nor is it right... just like it's not wrong to leave a goat and yam together. But just don't come and start complaining in my ear that nature took its course... ![]() |
judecares1:Better than poor man's pvssy, no? |
Ekiti360:Heh heh... not of fan of PMB but this sounds like the words of a sore loser. ![]() He should take his defeat with a bottle of Hero and chill out. |
Three thumbs up! If you know, you know ![]() |
Radiant1020: KangaIye: light101:Radiant1020, you better *shine* your eyes oh... you know these Lagos people are always up to no good. See how quickly they replied you ![]() |
I'll miss the danfos, though they can be a nuisance. It's probably better to have a smaller number of larger buses, than a sea of yellow danfos clogging up the place. That said, you know the wonderful thing about luxurious buses with AC? They often break down in our heat, and will cost more... Like Morbeta11 said, BRT buses have now degenerated to molue. I'm waiting to see how this pans out... |
As usual, overspending and being careless with repairs. Instead of learning a lesson, he'll be thanking God and "leaving everything in God's hands", and continue overspending and not going for regular checkups. SMH. |
No need to waste time and effort impeaching. This will only cause more problems as his core supporters from the North will increase their killings and other terrorist acts in anger. Let him be embarrassed at the polls next year, let him feel the pain of being voted out by the North too, so we can put the myth of Buhari to rest at last. |
FastShipping: GoodFaith:Seconded . Since you already have a gen, it's far far more cost effective to just buy the fuel you need for those few days when you're in town. |
I was looking for a real explanation and all I got was "God helped me be here". What kind nonsense explanation is that? ![]() Abeg I don dey taiya for this 2019 election rubbish ... Saraki, Buhari, Atiku, Ekwe-something something, APC, PDP, all are rubbish |

Agbaletu:And upon everything... no light and olosho will still cost. |
So the police don't know how to cordon off a property? They still let random vehicles in and out? I am not understanding ![]() |
namet:I think we in SS and SE need to be smarter about our own development. We have the brains, we have the industrialists and money (in Onitsha, Aba, Awka, PH, and Warri)... why are we still begging the Gov't to come and lay tracks? I wish we'd stop spending so much money in Lagos, Abuja, Dubai, and London, and concentrate our own resources and build private, first class rail by ourselves. |
Alary:Again... the people who we need to call out are our representatives in NASS. I'm not calling Amaechi, because he's a cabinet member, and for the time of his appointment answers to his boss. The point of having representatives is for them to call attention from the center and say, "Mr President, my constituents need this and that", or "Mr President, I think this project would benefit from being placed in this region, for this reason". Honorables and Governors should team together and bring development to their constituents. Isn't that why we elected them? We have governors, senators, house of reps, who are directly answerable to us. The President and his/her ministers can take their input and decide where to allocate resources (technically we should not expect that a president from our side should automatically send development our way, that's the job of our NASS reps). I'm angry that our reps are not doing anything, and I feel that's where people's frustration should be channelled. If we feel that the President should be the one researching allocating and deciding, then why do we have Reps? |
Ebimor96:I understand where you're going with this... I'm from Asaba, so I'm not too happy about Amaechi's ignoring of SS. That said, he is a minister, and bound to do the bidding of his boss. The people we should be calling out are our representatives in the House and Senate. It's those people who are supposed to drive development in their various regions, but I can count on one hand the number of times my Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Representative Hon. Joan Mrakpor have visited, championed a project, or pushed our agenda: none in fact. ![]() |
J4justice:You took the words right out of my hands... that's exactly my sentiment. |
