Joselyn... where am I? Unfortunately, I would really like to be beside you, but I'm out watching ball with some noisy people. We're ready to yab, shout, drink, and swear. |
... if only Argentina wasn't also full of prayer warriors... what is an impartial God to to?... ![]() Maybe he'll listen to the prayers of the better team, with a history of winning games, with members who can actually play ball, and with a sports ministry that knows what they are doing... In case of doubt, the better team is not Nigeria... in case anybody was holding on to false hope... ![]() How do you say "Issa Goal" in Spanish... because that's what the Argentines will be singing ![]() |
This is not a real promise... we all know the score will be NG 0 - 4 AR ![]() <runs out of thread> |
If the Slaying Eagles manage to hold out against Argentina, it will go a long way towards restoring confidence. They need to stop being so defensive and make more drives. They should also be careful not to rely too heavily on Musa ... Argentines might decide to foul him out of the game... |
Concentrate on the game... one win does not a tournament make. This one against Argentina is what they should be concentrating on right now. Of course, the contract to buy must have started weeks if not months ago... but I hope this is not distracting him from his game. |
VanjoshIII: lonelydora:Here in our beloved country, police carry out reprisal attacks on a regular basis. If a crowd should interfere, don't be surprised when police shows up a day or two later armed to the teeth like a battalion, and start beating people, shooting indiscriminately, and burning stores, causing damage to people and property worth a lot more than N50. Government hardly intervenes or investigates, and you can forget about them refunding or helping to offset damages caused by police action. So, painful as it is for me to say, sheeple like me would just advise that driver to jejely pay his "road tax", because we're not prepared to risk ourselves for any cause. |
ariesbull:Germany has a coast on the Baltic Sea... as well as on the North Sea. It is not landlocked... are we talking about a different country? Please zoom out on your map (I've included a snapshot from Google Maps). From Wikipedia (for your convenience): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany#Geography ... " Germany is also bordered by the North Sea and, at the north-northeast, by the Baltic Sea. " I'm really confused why anyone would look at the map, read about German coastal cities, see the description, and still call it landlocked...
|
ariesbull:Just to clarify... the area in dark green is Germany, and the area in aqua is water, so... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography_of_Germany You probably meant Austria... Australia is that large island in the South Pacific...

So... what I'm reading is a veiled attack on PMB (especially the line on "failure of leadership")... Sorry Mr VP... we're not falling for this... I know why I don't like PMB, but I don't need you putting mouth either, since your terms in government weren't all that stellar either... |
themodernman:Actually, his comment was not about Biafra or Igbos... it's about voting for the person who will be best for Nigeria, and there are many people of Northern extraction who qualify far better than PMB. |
Sigh... if 9 people chose one of each of the permutations below, somebody would be right. Out of 9 pigs, 1 would randomly choose the right one. Nigeria v Iceland 0 - 0 0 - 1 0 - 2 1 - 0 1 - 1 1 - 2 2 - 0 2 - 1 2 - 2 Many many people made different "predictions" which are just random chatter. Somebody is bound to be "correct"... it's just chance. Nobody remembers all the ones who made wrong predictions. Anyways... enjoy your trending. |
Let me see.. |
So much hope on this thread... sorry it will be wasted ![]() |
RZArecta:Quite right... but of course, most people with car loans are vetted by their paychecks in a solid company. That's the first thing a bank would want to see. It may simply not be worth it to extend credit to the general market (smaller amounts, higher risk of default). Actually, I think it's good we have cash and carry... all these buying things on contract (phones, cars, houses, vacations) has left most Americans indebted and servicing loans for the rest of their lives. The interest paid accounts for more than 20% extra on top of the initial price. To another person talking about lack of honesty: it's not a "Nigerian problem"; Europeans and Americans can be very dishonest too... it's just that they have everybody on file so that law enforcement can be effective in catching people. They can even get the courts to pay them directly from your paycheck. In US a $1000 iPhoneX is about 1/50 the median annual income. In Nigeria it's about 10/50 the median annual income, so of course it's much more affordable in US for it to be on contract. |
Critics and hypocrites who perform or receive the same thing they're getting upset about, even the president. Imagine: "what about all the youths who look up to you".... Does that even make sense? The youths want to also get mouth action no ni. I suppose they're just mad that it was exposed... or something... |
CANDYDADDY:I see you drank your hatorade today... ![]() |
Follygunners:?? If you want tech/investment and other "serious" news only, there are sub-forums on Nairaland for that. You can also go to the many blogs/forums that focus on that content and enjoy your fill of progressive news. The Nairaland FP is a place where all news of interest shows up. I do wish we'd tone down the over-sensational/mundane/celebrity/pepper-soup articles, but I won't go so far to start casting aspersions about the future leaders of Nigeria. About following the progressive rest of the world... are you implying that the bulk of the content on their forums is not the same as here (gossip/entertainment/etc)? Because there is quite a lot of vapid content on any general forum in the world, in most of the media, and certainly on many blogs. Is it not the same West that also brought Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and other social media that is mostly filled with - to borrow your term - balderdash? No need to get all hot and bothered... here's a cookie. |
rentAcock:Say wha? she is a mother... and he'd like to do that thing with her, hence MILF... |

Yes oh... ever green lady. Is she still acting? |

QueenSuccubus:Not really... "I like women" is actually grammatically incorrect pidgin... ironically. |
MrBrownJay1:I don't know... if our guy hadn't frittered his money on beer (about 500/night) or olosho (1-2k per encounter) or naijabet or "business" or some other frivolous pursuit*, he'd have enough money for rent over the course of 1 year. Nobody's fault but his for causing embarrassment to himself ... he knows rent is due, and should save accordingly. Now the wife has used all their family savings (which should be kept for emergencies like hospital treatment, bail, fixing the roof, or some other unpredictable expense). 1. If she secretly didn't save money, he would have found something to spend it on... it's a recurring theme in many marriages. Even this wonderful video from Niniola beautifully shows this good sense that wives have demonstrated since time immemorial. Unless he learns to save, they will be in a worse situation next year. 2. Maybe he didn't even let her know the true situation in the first place... you know men and their pride. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qcaggEL1z8?t=249 * Don't mind me jare... I'm just insinuating and casting aspersions...
|
And the most annoying part is that: here Leke is admonishing people for not saving... the same people his father threatens with hell fire if they do not "sow seed". If people give 10-20 percent to the Church... why can't the Church assist them in their time of need? ![]() |
linearity:It's like you know them well... those guys don't joke and won't stop until they have their pound of flesh... |
Viralkid:It's a lesson in civility... this is the kind of thing the world admires the Japanese for... civil and always thinking of the group and the image they collectively project to the world. |
Sirfeeking:I was going to say that too... Ghana, Senegal, Cameroun have played a lot better than Nigeria in the past few World Cups. THIS is how a match is played. I've said it before and I'll say it again, our Slaying Eagles really have no business in the world cup... too full of themselves without demonstrating any real skill.. Kudos to Senegal, they have always been a challenging team. |
