I see.. .so the pig did not eat the apple for Nigeria... and somehow it means we will win... Either our apple smelled bad or the guy hasn't seen our guys perform. ![]() |
rentAcock:Funny and true... but Africa is quite profitable as a continent: buy cheap oil and ores, and sell us phones and cars at a premium... their profits would reduce quite a bit if they left Africa to wallow in primitivity... At least the other teams made an effort... our SLaying Eagles just looked at the ball like docile penguins. |
slimjaney:OP: this is tough love, but he's right actually. She is not your wife, nor your fiancee, so, she's free to date who she wants, yeah? Most girls have like 2-3 guys they see on a regular weekly basis, with a few here and there as the opportunity arises. It's just that most guys delude themselves that they're the only one. As for me, I understand the situation, but I don't honestly think I can continue with the girl. Imagine if you married the girl, then both of you jam cousin at some family function... won't it always pain you? Save yourself the drama and move on, not because she has multiple suitors - I can't fault her for that - but because the knowledge will kill you inside. |
Nice one, but Governor, you know, the cost of one of your shoes could feed children like Taju for weeks... And that fleet of cars could educate your whole state... just saying. ![]() |
ManirBK:Not sure what the SAI is for, because: Airport was not built by Buhari. Airlines are not funded by Buhari. Air fares are not paid for by Buhari. At least we should be grateful it remains maintained under his administration. The new terminal is still under construction. This is a good time to start building a new runway, as capacity is increasing... but of course it won't happen under this administration. Now some numbers: 822,059 domestic passengers, 199,925 international passengers. So 4/5 the flights in ABV are domestic. That says there's a vibrant economy there. On the other hand, 481,997 arrivals and 539,987 departures suggests about 60,000 people flew out never to return ![]() Of course these numbers pale in comparison to LOS, which has almost 4x the international traffic, which would see 60,000 x 4 = 240,000 more departures than arrivals. If one was to extrapolate, I'd say nearly 1 million Nigerians leave our shores annually: (4 quarters x 240,000). Is this accurate? So inspite of this "wonderful" administration, almost 1 million people emigrate out to seek better opportunities... that's a lot to SAI Buhari for, I guess. |
Olalan:Man, such unbridled optimism... after seeing their performance, I'd be amazed if we don't lose to Argentina 0-3 What surprised me is that Ghana didn't qualify, yet Nigeria did. The Black Stars always put on an impressive game, and our Slay Eagles always play poorly. |
Team Awon Slaying Eagles ![]() It will be a real shame if after all this fashion and shaku shaku they don't emerge from the group stage ![]() |
Could be a tumor that has grown... instead of the woman to seek modern medical assistance, she's subjecting herself to these quacks. Now, I'm a strong believer in our traditional medicines and feel we should modernize our ancient knowledge... but an ultrasound can reveal much more than just cowries and white fowl. |
ensamy:The Lord may have forgiven, but Lady Justice will still balance the arguments and punish with her sword. |
HungerBAD:I understand and agree with your comment, however, the rule of law demands that everybody has a right to fair trial no matter what, and it is only a jury of peers, having heard all the evidence and arguments, that can legally decide if a person is guilty or not. The law is blind, and lawyers too, must be blind. Their work is not to decide the case or to pass judgement, but to represent their client at the court and present their side of the story to the jury. The people taking the law into their own hands and issuing death threats to lawyers are actually doing the system more damage than they think. Even a judge is not empowered to declare guilt or innocence: a judge officiates the court hearing and decides the punishment, if found guilty by the jury. Presumption of innocence until proven guilty is a strong tenet in our society that we must safeguard, because history has shown again and again that to presume guilt is a slippery slope for all. |
A nocturnal bird is minding it's business at night, doing what it's ancestors were doing long before human beings got any form of religion. Christian man catches it and calls it "evil". Poor bird... maybe in 100 years or so we won't have silly Christians grabbing owls and insulting them. SMH |
Not a big fan of all the noise about fashion kits, but one has to admit the Eagles kit is the best this Cup. There's nothing special about France's kit, but Naija's is snazzy and different, and it shows: it has caught the world's attention, it sold out on day 1, and the team had a twitter moment too. I hope they play "Issa goal" everytime we score... that would be dope! |
lascopes:It's not hating. I would *love* to vote for a woman for President, as many others would. I opened the thread looking for qualifications and other facts that would make her a serious contender, but the bio as written does not seem like it's intended to get people to vote for her based on what she can deliver as President. Imagine for instance, if the late Dora Akunyili ever wanted to run. If somebody wrote a bio/manifesto for her based on her qualifications, her concrete achievements, and the genuine love she demonstrated for Nigerians, she would have been a very serious contender. |
Here we go again... promises that will not be answered when the Cup is over. ![]() |
OP - or whoever wrote/interviewed/edited this biography - is doing this candidate a disservice. Nobody cares about where her parents worked, or how she was center for any kind of attention at home, or what primary school she went to. I want to read about what leadership roles she has held; what issues she stands for and champions; what she would bring to the table as President; and how she would make our lives better. All this vague talk about being a nice person doing charity work does not stir up interest. |
See the sensible explanations involving embryo development and other explanations that make sense. If this was from one of our local rivers you'll hear about witchcraft, village people, and other spiritual nonsense. My people my people. |
EMIOMOADEOYE:Savage much? ![]() |
... another reason why travel to Ghana day hungry person. But don't worry the Limping Eagles will not disappoint us... they'll have the same woeful performance they've demonstrated for 2 decades. ![]()

Escodeb:Nice... after the ban what then? Are the railways conducive? Federal or State needs to invest in trailer parks, and make sure police enforce the law properly. The problem is not the trailer drivers. |
Warrisdis? Just looking at it is giving me a stomach ache. It's a joke right? Somebody is being ironic right? How can this be considered "good cooking". This mashup. Roll my eyes. And some girl will make this concoction thinking she's being creative. <barf> Abeg Udoka or Bukky, bring my dinner so we can show these Kenyan "chefs"... |
seguno2:Is it her responsibility to provide pipe-borne water? So she should provide borehole, pipes, taps, chlorine treatment, and all the things that come with pipe-borne water? Even if all she does is provide one day of pure water, I would applaud. It's a lot better than government has been doing for its citizens. Unfortunately - I've looked into it - government won't even give right-of-way for people to install pipes if its not solely on private property. |
Well done... more grease to her elbow. Did you notice the pictures of heads of state? From Murtala, Obasanjo, Shagari, Buhari, Babangida, Shonekan, Abacha, Abubakar, Obasanjo, Yaradua, Jonathan, Buhari. What struck me is that none of these people made potable water nationally available. A very very simple thing, no high tech involved, yet it takes a small girl from a beauty pageant to think of providing water (from borehole) to rural citizens. It makes me shake my head... I was 7 in 1984 when I heard Fela sing "na 1990, they go give us water"... and it seemed so far in the future, but the song gave me hope. It's 2018 and water is still a problem for most. Sadly, I think 2057, when I'm 80, I'll still be complaining that there's no water. Meanwhile South Korea went from rural backwater in 1950s to a developed country - global powerhouse - by 1995. Here in Nigeria we're still dealing with power outage and lack of water. |
Looks like she needs to reconsider the type of men whose destinies she's stealing... cuz by now she should be able to afford better hair and makeup ![]() |
Adbiz:I was going to say these but you said it most eloquently. Lagos is tough and soul-sucking. Once in a while I visit to catch fun, but I don't want to live in Lagos: 2-4 hour traffic jams starting at 5am, and then agin from 4pm-10pm. What kind of madness is that? I have friends who don't see their kids all week (and they're all living in the same house)! |
ChiefAzubuike:Over a leaky tire... somebody's life? srsly? But based on 171 posts in 4 days... just trolling? We need more of these combined crowd actions ... our so-called security people are getting out of hand and need to be reminded that they are at our service. |
I would like to see a "grace to grace" celebrity someday... enough of the "I had no shoes talk"... ![]() |
decatalyst:Bros I see am oh!!! That's what comes of eating apku late in the night ![]() We get dem plenty in Asaba. You can hardly find a girl with a flat tummy here. |
OceanmorganTrix:I'm looking in your cup to see check what you've been drinking... cuz this is just fantasy. |
OK good. At least they won something. They can come back home now... nothing more expected of our limping Eagles lexyman:Say what? We sent people to play ball and they're busy winning fashion awards while losing friendly matches... I don't know where any of that optimism comes from, based on their past and recent performances. Wishes do not win a World Cup... disciplined team play does. |
2019 tins... Abeg, face your work on the economy, power, and infrastructure... Or is June 12 going to provide jobs and power our industries? Hero of democracy who warned of baboons and blood. Mtchew. |
It starts from the top... governor should stop padding contracts and lavish spending of government funds. |
All these jokes... it says more about some of us that this would even be newsworthy... |
