coretechng1:Abi. Wetin be one naira crash? ![]() |
OP, what the hell man? Crash implies 20% or more. I came to see something significant only to see one whole naira ![]() This is flickering noise in the daily value, partly due to dollar weakness based on market fears in US. It's been hovering around 38x for a while now, as opposed to widely fluctuating, which is good. Would like to see it touch 37x by July... |
Again... Hope this is for real this time... before one laywer will come with cease-and-desist ![]() "Ah don get anoda sponsor oh...." I wonder how much he paid/will pay to release him from the contractual obligations, even while running Alterplate. Or is 5-star partial owner in his new label? |
baba4thegehs:Mehn please. The only reason so many American rappers blow up/go international is because of the marketing power of American record companies (and the soft-power of American media/culture that the world swallows as gold). If we're talking raw talent (not commercial success or fame), I can only think of 10 or so rappers in the past 20 years (2pac, Nas, Suga Free, Infamous Syndicate, Mos Def, Outkast, Q-Tip, Azealia, Snoop, 50) who I'd place before Olamide. If Olamide was an American rapper and had the right marketing muscle behind him, the world would be saying Badoo. Give us your top-ten American rappers that have debuted in the last 5 years, (I can only think of Lil Wayne and maybe J.Cole) that come close to being in Olamide's orbit, in terms of talent. Rapping is not just about calling out Italian brand names and blinging in strip clubs. *E-40, Busta Bus, that nigga J, that cray cray Nicki, also deserve honourable mention. |
IamRespected:Our Federal police system is actually a very good thing: because officers can be moved and posted anywhere, there is less of a chance of being influenced by long-term relationships/friendships with the people you're supposed to police. Most importantly, governors are already too-powerful, and having the police under their direct influence (command, budget), would essentially make them sovereign powers. Having officers from all over also aids in our drive towards a more unified country. |
The leadership should provide for their officers before complaining: 1. Bribe - officers are not paid living wages and are left to fend for themselves in many cases 2. Money collection - this come down from the DPO who claims the lion's share of the collections. 3. Public urinating - are there functional toilets anywhere? 4. Fighting over bribe - when salary is so low, anybody will fight to augment their daily bread My only grouse is with the leadership of the NPF: the top brass get air conditioned, huge offices with all kinds of privileges, and the field officers get merciless heat, no water, no toilet, abusive superiors, and so on. I wish I was wealthy, I would contribute money to the officers posted to my town and build better working quarters for them. Maybe some of the abuses of power will reduce. |
NwaObinkita:Haba ... so it's insecurity to support and uplift upcoming artists, or to acknowledge talent when you see it in others? Listen, Olamide is one of the baddest ever liveth in rap, and in my opinion can stand toe to toe with anybody in US, dead or alive. And as is typical of truly great people, he is not pretentious or arrogant, he doesn't feel the need to hold back anybody. In fact he does the opposite and encourages his proteges to fly and be great on their own. After attaining success, if he wants to sit back and relax, kudos to him. |
fearNORTH:Heh heh... you have a point ![]() |
fearNORTH:I prefer to think of it this way: these are independent women who don't stay and take crap from their husbands. |
100s at the wedding... maybe 5 at the divorce... this life sef. |
I won't be surprised if some of these raids are being done by robbers... |
"Warlord" is very misleading (it conjures up images of savage, disorganized fighting forces). He was a Col. in the Biafran Army - the organized armed forces of an internationally recognized country (however brief). I was initially wondering if this was some recent Delta resistance movement, but then realized this is the revered Joe "Air Raid" Achuzia. But what's with Mr. Kanu and all these consultations? |
Must be terrible knowing your sister has been kidnapped, without knowing if you'll ever see her again. I pray she makes it back home OK, somehow. |
RIP. But 3 pictures wearing black on black? I don't want to pour suspicion on tragedy, but... ![]() That's how me and my friend went to party... he was wearing black on black... small time, area con dey eye am. I say "o boy, you better go change oh..." |
wealth499:Just like they ignore trafficating, stop signs, yield signs, roundabout rules, one way, no parking, solid lines. The only thing that we pay attention to are braking light and horn. ![]() My people, my people. |
Nice one. You know what I was seeing though... lots and lots of construction of high rises Lagos is going to be unrecognizable in 10 years. |
4k is balling baby... as long as you have a small place to park yourself at night. I disagree about the street food... it's relatively expensive (except like akara and eko). When you can get correct N300 eba or amala for the day. I for say rice, but it doesn't last in my stomach and I get hungry soon. That same 300 will only fetch you like 3 roasted corn or boli, or maybe 1 indomie. Small bus and keke where possible, now they've banned okada anyhow. But the major trouble with Lagos is the cheap places to stay/eat are not the parts I want to visit. By the time you factor in transport and 2 hours commute... just not worth it. And then when you get to the really interesting places, it costs 1k to eat. |
StephDamielola:No be only him oh... All guys get inspiration from BUMS or BOBBI. Abi you no dey listen to radio? ![]() |
doublewisdom:The article said he refused it and had it distributed to the poor. As in "I don't want it, distribute it to the poor". What point are you trying to make? He is also due his pension, is he not? All in all, it's a nice story, but we're more concerned about now, 2017, how he is going to lead up to prosperity |
WTF? What next? "Temi drinks water from a cup", "See how Temi puts on shoes", or "Temi drives a car".. Oh wait, we just did that one ![]() |
The make very practical cars... Fuel efficient, easy and cheap to maintain, affordable. Camry and Corrola are practical, Avensis or Avalon are stylish enough, but none of the consumer models can be called exciting. You need to move up to their racing/luxury cars for that. And that's ok. All those curves and fancy composite materials get expensive and are wasted on those who want an economical car |
Calabar, sitting on rivers and creeks, in a state called Rivers, yet no drinking water. Naija sef. But at least this is due to (overdue) maintenance and vandalism... It probably will be fixed soon |
We the masses are really fools. Elites are busy sharing cake, and we're fighting over what part of the country the crumbs come from... |
Na wah oh.. zero chill on this topic ![]() |
diMITCHELL:We were all thinking what you so eloquently put to words ![]() |
Tolexander:I'm not saying she's not, but how u take know, bruh? ![]() |
sarrki:You blame dem? Why should they risk their lives on the crappy roads and robbers that the rest of us are subject to? We really need to wake up. |
Like mama like daughter... don't forget to visit your grandpapa's people in Asaba ;-) |
Hm... Robbers will like this. Just look for some mumu that decided to bring his tablet or smart phone to park... |
Eyin boys... You know what to do. Please teach this guy that he can't go around smacking girls |
Congrats. Babe, sell that car quick quick and build small rooms to let. Cars are liabilities and will be gone with 5-10years but rental properties will put money back in your pocket for the rest of your life. |
Malakh:errr... the examples I gave produced their wealth by working hard, employing people, and serving various needs in Nigeria... why are you dragging fire and brimstone into the discussion? Even Jesus "gave unto Caesar", was friends with a tax collector (Matthew), and created wine at a rich person's wedding. Somebody said it's not proper to be spraying money... with the implication that those who really have money don't disrespect it |
