I'll do so, right after bandits, kidnappers, police and boko boys present their NIN before doing their trademark. Can you imagine: "right, we're about to raid this your village, but before we start, here's our NIN just so you know we're law-abiding" ![]() The irony is that the very criminals they say they're trying to identify are the least to comply with NIN. Funny minister. |
One Africa Music Fest in Dubai. No suitable destinations in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Rwanda, Egypt, Namibia? We have to hold "African" events outside Africa huh. Fantastic. People should not always blame government for our problems. We talk about improving tourism in Africa, yet we turn right around and give our money to Emirates Air, and all their developers and restaurants. |
I am never disappointed by the usual "end signs" people. Volcano, flood, clouds, rain, no rain, full moon, eclipse... all na end signs. Una go wait taiya. ![]() |
Because SIM registration is just a cruise. ![]() |
COMPAQ:Right you are. Our government should be pushing for these kinds of investments you've listed... but apparently sugar water is OK too. And the irony is that with 30% ROI (typical for Coca cola), they will take out $300m out of the Nigerian economy as profit. After 3 years, they've recovered their investment, and for the next 15-20 years, will be drawing out an increasing amount of money and sending it back as dividends to shareholders and income tax to US. |
mfm04622:And Coca-cola will take $1.3bn out of Nigeria as revenue (and a further $300m every year, based on their 30% ROI). This will be distributed to their shareholders as dividends, to the US government as income tax, wonderful pay packages for the company's officers, and nice upgrades to the headquarters in Atlanta. Not saying it's not a good investment. I'm just also pointing out that income for one's investments come from someplace. FDI should really be called "Foreign Wealth Extraction". |
Jwonder:But the cause has been figured out... it's all the refining (legal and illegal) and/or flaring in the area. It's not rocket science... our gov't just doesn't give a damn, unless we ask them to do better. Then they send their goons to silence or kill us. |
Pray? That's the answer? I thought 7 years of hardship would be enough for people to make better choices... but apparently they need to pray over it first ![]() No wahala now... just remember: the Lion and the Lamb are both praying to the same God, one to find food, the other not to be food, but only one will have their prayer answered. |
SPLENDID25:Glad you see it. Perhaps double check the math...? And you can do the same with the first circuit too. Starting from the right... I can't see the numbers too clearly, but you can visualize: ((((10 + 2) // 6) + 5) // 6) + 4) // 8 ) + 6 and so on then keep reducing till you get Req. The rest of the question is plug and chug. I knew some students in first year EE Ilorin who could finish this exam in under 5 minutes. What's truly sad is that all these brilliant minds have to deal with lousy lecturers who will bill them, or be frustrated into being cab drivers and akara fryers, are persecuted by police for being smart, and in some cases killed, and often just leave the country as soon as they can. Makes me shake my head to think of how Nigeria squanders its youth. |
SPLENDID25:Good, now keep rearranging and you'll likely arrive at my diagram: Bring in the 2ohm that's currently all the way to the right so it's next after the first 10ohm; then pull the point where the 1ohm, 2ohm, and 10ohm meet to the top right of that square; finally pull the bottom of that diagonal 2ohm to the right. You can almost visualize it. |
SPLENDID25:Dude what? Look at the the original circuit... it's quite simple, no need to bring in the big guns like star to delta: - there's a 10 ohm in series with the rest of the network. - in this network, there's a 2ohm that goes directly to ground, in parallel with the rest of the network - in the smaller network, there's a 1ohm in series with a subset - in the subset there's a 2ohm in parallel with a 10ohm, both going to ground. From here it's the first week of circuits: reduce each network to its equivalent resistance, figure out the voltage drop as you go. How is this wrong? Intuitively, you know that 2//10 would be less than 2, and that the first series 10ohm will drop the majority of the voltage.
|
Funny... the second one is actually trival; just have to redraw the diagram a couple of times, get the parallel and equivalent resistors. I took one look, and since I'm not busy, solved it. The voltage is approximately 0.64V. I hope any EE students will take this serious and not let some quack lecturer intimidate you. If any lecturer says this is hard, they are either joking or not bright. Resistance in the entire network is 10 + (2 // (1 + (2 // 10))) In other words, 10ohms in series with (2ohms in parallel with (1 in series with (2 parallel with 10))) then you reduce: 10 + (2 // (1 + 1.667) 10 + ( 2 // 2.667)) 10 + 1.142 11.142 Observe voltage drop across the first parallel network (cd) is going to be V * (1.142 / 11.142). Call this Vcd Given two resistor networks (10 ohm, and the parallel combo 1.142ohm), the voltage over the one you want is simply the ratio of the resistor you want the drop over, divided by their sum: 1.142 / (10 + 1.142). Then observe voltage across the second parallel network (ab) is going to be: Vab = Vcd * (1.667 / 2.667) So: Vab = 10V * (1.142 / 11.142) * (1.667 / 2.667) = 0.64V NOTES: - I'm using // to mean in parallel - The combined.resistance of two parallel resistors is well known: (R1*R2)/(R1+R2) or (2*10)/(2+10) = 1.667ohms. - Parallel networks always have the same voltage across the networks. I'll leave the rest of the math to the curious.

Ahmeduana:Both. Basically a "believe in who you want, or not, and there's no persecution for any choice" |
I wish I could get an internship with this company. Unpaid sef. Just to learn and be part of something great. |
I know, some people will start blaming developers. All the oyinbos and latinos and indians smuggling this stuff nko? Let me hear word abeg. |
mrvitalis:You're absolutely right, actually. I guess I was only speaking for the South, up to Ilorin... chai let's just split this country mehn. |
MyopicMods:It is... and you know what will happen in 2023? Abians will vote for the same crop of incompetent government, all the way from governor, senator, down to LGA council person. Citizens have been given the authority and opportunity to elect sensible people yet they throw it away for some kerosine and jollof. Yet after voting incompetence they want to tell me how incompetent their choice is. Before nko? Abeg, if people are tired of bullshit, they should stop voting for bullshit. |
Abeg, they should go and demolish national assembly and police stations - that's where the real crime is going on. |
tunapawizzy:Abi now? He just dey sign to feel among. |
Signing to which climate change? Country that refuses to diversify from oil? No wahala, when there are no more customers for oil, and our government becomes as poor as Niger or Chad, then they will know. At least some regions are industrious. |
There is an amazing amount of religious tolerance in Nigeria. I'm actually surprised we're on this list in the first place. We all accept that we have so many types of religious adherants and sects... the only instance of persecution I can think of is of Shia (Zakzaky's people), under the guise of terrorism; but there's also the persecution of IPOB and Oduduwa folks too, do it's not religious per say. Anyways, either way, the news will pain some, it will sweet some. |
I just came to read the abuse and memes ... nairalanders no dey disappoint ![]() |
Be a solar installer, then distributor, then graduate to electronics manufacturer. |
Anytime I receive call from somebody pretending to be a bank, I just hang up. If I have issues, na me go call them, never vice versa. |
Don't forget that if you spend money to watch match or bet on matches, you're contributing to these cars. Why don't you save your money and invest in yourself? Think about it... |
Why not boss? You've shown them they cannot be crushed. Pikin wey dem born May 2015 don finish 1 year of primary school now, Baba, and you're still talking in future perfect tense. |
I was starting to post something funny, but decided this country don tire me sha... |
misterme:Why am I hearing Lasisi Elenu's voice? Sorry oh... na the change we never experred be dis. Unfortunately it won't get better even after 2023... |
But we should not talk about it oh... or mention it in the press... because according to Mr Lie, it's all a plot in social media and the press to make the government look bad ![]() |
BOTH. It's like asking what is really good for a farm. Rain or Sun? you need both abeg. |
Bahamas95:My broda, village people gats her on speed dial. It's just she's coded for now. No worry, your eye go clear once you marry. |
For this Naija, most items in this list are F9. 1. Intimacy 5. Comfort 9. Respect Oh, now that I look, it looks like this is a list for women (as in what they get), because Naija women no dey give shishi. |
