smartasuen:Enugu is relatively high, and the ground is filled with coal, hence boreholes are not as plentiful as you may find in some other cities. Not to say things can't be done... like building a huge water reservoir/park that is fed by the Ekulu River. That said, it's up to leadership (and the people who vote them in): Even my city Asaba, which is right next to the freaking Niger River cannot boast of potable water to its residents, yet Dubai and Israel find a way to create drinking water in the desert, from saltwater. I just hope this wonderful city gets its water supply back on track - one of the few cities with running water in Nigeria these days. |
Religious zealots are told: "if you die killing infidels, you're martyrs" Bandits are also told : "if you die killing enemies of your progress, you're martyrs" And now citizens are being told: "if you die killing bandits, you're martyrs" 3 different sets of people being manipulated by the same set of leaders... The leaders won't solve the systemic issues behind their troubles, but will just tell each party to kill each other. SMH They should not be surprised if one day, they hear: "if you die killing useless leaders, you're martyrs" |
...a possible new year's present in the making? I no talk anything oh... But since this is Nigeria, I expect one spokesman to come out and say "fake news". |
So... drinking palm wine that somebody else tapped is now called "tapping palm wine" abi? What next, "somebody is drinking water in the villa", and it will make FP bah? It's not ur fault, mumu me clicked to see this mumu post. Even worse, I replied ![]() |
But Apostle, you've been linked with giving money to Moesha, Chioma (nor be dat one oh), and Daniella in the past... how far? ![]() |
“Almighty God, in the Quran, told the Prophet to tell his wives, daughters and other women of faith to cover themselves properly.”Please Hisbah should explain to me why belly dancing - the exposure of body, and the watching of it - is so popular in the land from which Islam came? |
Investigating to collect their share. When IGP was a corporal or sergeant mounting roadblocks in 80's and 90's he no collect? So what are we talking? ![]() But I pray the cough up that money and spend jail time sha. |
AntonVince:And that's the problem... once again we're going to be choosing between two bad choices? Haba, even now, youths should shout down both Tinubu and Atiku. Tell them to forget whatever ambition. We no want. |
You've done well my man Reno... you've earned your potential place in Atiku's cabinet... but don't be surprised if all this brownosing doesn't bear fruit. Instead of finding and promoting excellence, you're backing the same crop of leaders... |
Welcome to Nigeria, where wages are some of the lowest in the world, but government expenses are higher than in the richest countries. 300 billion naira? For arrangee and rigimori? Una well done oh! |
Sonnobax15:Amen! And really even more painful is that they will just spend it carelessly on flexing. My guy lost over 100k in one night. Somehow the debit alerts did not post till morning, so he didn't get a chance to stop it. Same format: ATM card used for POS, so I'm suspecting these bank people. Even when there was only 1k left, they still did two 500 naira transactions to wipe him out. Wicked people! |
But wait, is there anybody this Tonto no dey fight with? ![]() It's like every 4-6 months she will say: "hrm... I'm bored, who can I drag with"? Dem plenty: if no be Halima Abubakar, na Churchill. If not na Ik Ogbonna, or Bobrisky. Tomorrow Rosy, next, Ubi Franklin. Now na Kpokpogri and Janemena. Haba, dem send u? |
A true beneficiary of tithe and offering... ![]() |
Nigerian leadership gats no chill, and always like to focus on all the wrong things. |
I miss the Naija of those days... up and coming and hopeful. now it's just endless doom and gloom. |
No collect am oh... just reject that job, and dey press phone you hear? The person wey go collect that work no go come ask us ![]() |
OK, so we get upset at some people in Asia for eating wild animals... yet snake co. is a regular diet here... hrm... next covid loading |
Eh... pay your taxes people. We want to diversify our income streams, and have good infrastructure. Tax is what most countries use to fund these. What we're missing is good governance, but then again, the choice of government is made by the people, so quite complaining about the bad choice you made. ![]() *I only feel sorry for the 5% |
The number one bully in the country... who are they going to investigate? ![]() RIP Sylvester. |
Thank you sir, because this will solve the light issue in our country... in fact, let me not say what is truly on my mind. ![]() |
First of all, RIP to Sylvester. I'm seeing these posts of abuse and bullying... knowing fully well that these same parents complaining are the worst at abusing their own househelp and even their own children. Then they will come and pen some crap about how it's wrong. Please fix the log in your eye, etc. |
habeeb246:*HOW*? Because the movie is a sequel? There's nothing in common between the two movies please. One is more akin to a mob action tragedy, the other is a family comedy. I personally like both movies (and KOB series), and am looking forward to this one too. |
Of course... weapons and vehicles are not free. |
sammyj490:Is this the new fake bragging? It's like every two days somebody is trying really hard to choose between two wonderful choices: a sweet job here, or a sweet job abroad. What is it? Please read the existing 1000 of posts on this matter. We're having to make choices like: do I buy meat, or do I buy tomato in this Buhari era. It wasn't funny yesterday, I had to skip some food items, and wife is talking that we're not getting enough protein... and here comes another one disturbing us with "I don chop belleful, now help me decide between cake and ice cream." ![]() If I was a mod, this type of topic will never make front page again. Haba. ![]() |
Aaronsrod:And that is somehow fair bah? It's another reason to think that religion is a scan: nobody really understands anything, so they make up stuff. How can a God condemn people just because he sent His son million years after humans appeared? Christianity has never had a satisfactory answer for what happened to all the souls who died before they had a chance to hear the good news? |
BeeBeeOoh:Funny thing is we all know... that guy needs to be in our 2021 summary of nairaland personalities ![]() |
Heh heh, na so my landlady use to pray around 5am, shouting up and down about holy ghost fire and demons in the room below... na me she dey refer to oh! Because I dey carry cutlass and ghana must go (full of tools) go construction site, them come rumour say I be occult. ![]() |
Fulaniherdmens:And garri is what exactly? No be fried fufu? (in terms of starch) |
WibusJaga:The trouble is, you need a critical mass of vaccinated people to keep the number of cases low. There's a certain percentage of people who can get very sick and will need medical assistance to pull through. If you have a growth in sick population, and medical assistance is not enough (e.g. not enough ventilators, oxygen, staff), more people will die simply because, well, there are too many to attend to. The ultimate goal is to keep the rate of really sick people low enough, and you do that by vaccinating them. There are conspiracy theories, sure, but the basic truth is that vaccines are the major reason why people (especially children) don't get ruined or die from polio, measles, tuberculosis, tetanus, flu, etc. Now a government's mandate is to protects its citizens, and if being vaccinated is an effective way to do so, then so be it. We very strongly encourage vaccination against many other diseases, and it's in fact odd to find someone who hasn't had their "required" vaccines for the aforementioned diseases in Southern Nigeria. Whether this is mandatory (like FG is doing with Covid), or routine (as it has been since the major drives to vaccinate in the 70's and 80's), the point is it's not unusual to have such a mandate. |
I don't understand this list at all ![]() What Nigerian police cannot do does not exist abeg. |
AroOkigbo:The sad thing about solar, is that, once again, we are not developing our ability to manufacture. Nigeria should be the #1 source of panels on the continent, but all we're doing is buying panels and controllers with oil money. The day the West or Asia stops buying oil, is the day we can't afford solar. ironic. |
Remove noodles. |
