Ruggedniggaone:Abi now... I don't even know why we bother going to any international competitions again... just be one of the many losing teams that USA and Germany use to shine ![]() |
So how come people from Atiku's place in Adamawa can vote? Are they also "foreigners"? |
egunna:Upon all the war-against-drugs, it's a $350-billion industry according to estimates. Because it's illegal, criminals make a *huge* chunk of this, people end up dead due to gang-related activity, and people do all kinds of dangerous things to make, transport, obtain and use them. There are laws in Oregon USA, Mexico, Switzerland, Netherlands, and a handful of others that have decriminalized it because the facts show that it's ultimately safer for people to sell and obtain without resorting to violence, drug houses, drug mules, or the larger social costs of incarceration, the secondary effects of disease/infection etc. Yes, it's dangerous and addictive, but since people who want it are getting it - despite being illegal - it can be regulated so it's safer for consumption, like any other drug or food - which is ultimately better for consumers. The mindset about Marijuana has changed significantly in the past 20 years... I suspect it's only a matter of time for the same to be true of cocaine - despite how much more dangerous and addictive it is. Some countries are slowly taking a stance of treatment, vs. punishment for addicts, and you'll see the evolution of thought more towards open use. |
frog12:https://www.unaids.org/en/resources/presscentre/featurestories/2020/march/20200303_drugs "Czechia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland are among a handful of countries that have decriminalized drug use and possession for personal use and that have also invested in harm reduction programmes. Consequently, diagnoses among people who inject drugs in those countries are low." In addition, google search results:

Speaktruth88:Indeed, no country. Unlike what's shown here. There are indications of countries as varied as Brazil, Switzerland, Columbia, Greece have decriminalized it for private use. If we'd said the same thing about weed 10 years ago, you probably would have said the same thing. It's actually legal for recreational use (not just prescription) in 18 states including California and New York. Drugs are harmful and addictive, yes. However, the war on it cocaine has not stopped the people in USA and other wealthy countries from buying it, and only enriches criminals. Decriminalize it, is all I'm saying.
|
They should just make this thing legal joor... it sells because there are customers who can afford it. Now think - what kind of people can afford expensive habits like cocaine? For sure not the average person who is struggling to buy bread and beans in this era. Now we're sending people to jail and encouraging criminal activities. If cocaine was legal, it would severely damage the criminal element, crashing prices, and leave us to concentrate on more important things. It's medically legal, as well as decriminalized in many Western, Latin, and Asian countries. |
The ONE thing I like about BBN is that no riots or protests seem to take place this season ... only before or after ![]() How many youths are tuning in to Kanu or Igboho's troubles? How many care about the severe inflation and kidnappings? Not now, but maybe in October ![]() After the opiate season is over, and they've spent all they have supporting and abusing the housemates, they will remember say hungry dey land. |
Donpraiz:And somehow God - omniscient and omnipotent - won't be able to determine her true intentions and give her what she prayed for? Or even worse, deny her fruit for attempting to test Him? Please don't give somebody wrong advise. Two children in Nigeria is enough. We have enough huge families in this country who can't adequately care for the ones they have, in their search of what they don't have. |
Ishilove:And we're sure the "spiritual ritual" didn't involve another man? Do the boys have his features? Just curious... |
indigenous234:But that's what I'm talking about... the medical community itself said this about the Billings method (which BTW is for determining fertility/ovulation, not biasing conception to a particular gender): "Evidence of effectiveness is not very clear. Typical use of this method is associated with a pregnancy rate of 1 to 22%. A World Health Organization study found that 15% is caused by a conscious departure from method rules. The percentage of people who stop using the method after a year is between 1 and 24%. Perfect use has been estimated to result in pregnancy in 0.5 to 3%." 22%. Would you fly in a plane with a 22% rate of landing? How about cooking with a stove with only 22% of not exploding? These "success" rates are worse than chance (which is 50%). The evidence and the medical community discredit these methods, and I do so too, not out of malice or lack of information, but reporting the stated facts. Look, I understand the difficulty and the intense pressure women are under to produce boys. Ironically, it's the men who "produce boys". The medical conclusion is that there are no methods that meaningfully sway the production of boys, otherwise the Chinese and Indians would have perfected it by now (since they've actually had systemic bias against girls for decades now). |
Before people used to be scared of pythons, owls, and cats on roofs... nowadays any village person sending a python should know they're about to lose a friend to the pepper soup pot. Nigerians are not smiling. ![]() |
Nice... so after the people, cities and farmlands are all evaporated by warfare... where will the plane land? Then what next? More, bigger, badder weapons until we can wipe out this solar system bah? |
Kidnappers kidnap soldiers? Soldiers kwa?? Wawoo for this country! ![]() |
indigenous234:I really don't want to discount your personally experience, but there's very little evidence that this method (or any other like timing, diet, position. shuttle, billings) works. I say this because I don't like to give people false hopes and have them try a bunch of methods and giving them stress. |
I'm replying again to say the bitter truth is there is no way: not prayer, not timing, not fertility drugs. If a man is more prone (because of his genes) in creating more xx in his sperm, then there's more chance he will bear girls. "Currently, the only way to guarantee sex is a technique called preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), where a single sperm is implanted in the egg in a type of in vitro fertilization called ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection). A cell of the developing embryo is tested to determine sex prior to placement in the uterus of the mother." - https://health.clevelandclinic.org/boy-or-girl-can-you-choose-your-babys-sex/ So basically create a bunch of embryos, keep only the one you want and discard the rest. Do you want that choice on your hands? Another alternative would be to have a clinic determine which individual sperm cells are xx or xy, and do in-vitro with that. I think this is still very experimental, and very difficult, considering there are over 100 million of those suckers in each burst. |
Yes. Conceive and birth many children until you have a male. Better yet, look for a man with many sons (or from a family of many sons) and get a "donation" from him, if your husband's lineage has a propensity for girls. I'm half joking, but also half serious. Afterall, men have no problem getting another woman if their first lady "can't give him sons". I use quotes because, ironically, it's the man that can influence the child's gender, since he has xy chromosomes. Women have xx; they cannot contribute a y out of xx. That said: "According to the Shettles method, timing intercourse as close to or even after ovulation is the key to sway for a boy. Shettles explains that couples trying for a boy should avoid sex in the time between your menstrual period and days before ovulation. Instead, you should have sex on the very day of ovulation and up to 2 to 3 days after." |
toluleke:It's really unfortunate what happened to the shop owners; I sure hope they have some kind of insurance. That said, is it a crime for a young girl to be taken to a supermarket with parents even if we're not buying anything for her? If we leave them at home and they burned the house, people will say: "you should have taken her out with you". Which way? At 9, children can be allowed to go to a section to check out something on their own. "Daddy I want to see some shoes/dresses/toys/combs"... "OK, but come back quick and look for me here" - what's there? That's not a sign of irresponsible parenting at all, or even of a bad child. People are curious at 9 - and unless she was instructed by an adult to do this - I'm going to still assume it's an accident/mistake/curiosity that got out of hand. When I was 9/10, I started a small fire in our trash pit that spread to some grass, and grew out of proportion, nearly burned our neighbors house. I was scared shitless and shouted as I watched it get out of control. Thank God some adults brought water quickly. I didn't mean to cause a huge fire, and I can't say my parents were bad people because of it, because I was overall a good, if occasionally naughty child, but there you are. We don't know the full story, and I'm still open to the possibility that somebody told her to do it, but we need to investigate a little more. |
EasternActivist:Yes. You can either have somebody actively monitoring the CCTV (not just recording it), or install a CCTV system that uses AI to detect fires. At worst, smoke detectors. Well, nobody will tell this supermarket what to install next time. As for this young arsonist... hm... I'm still not 100% she did it on her own - without instruction from somebody else. And as for the police... is it a crime for a young girl to be taken to a supermarket with parents even if we're not buying anything for her? At 9, children can be allowed to go to a section to check out something on their own. "Daddy I want to see some shoes/dresses/toys/combs"... "OK, but come back quick and look for me here" - what's there? This so-called interrogation is unbelievably unprofessional. |
The video dikwa somehow sha... won't be surprised it's some kind of prank... most women can find a mate just by walking out of their house, so I'm not sure why she's wasting time recording this, unless it's a joke ![]() |
Hah hah... hopefully fake prophets will take heed ![]() |
blinking001:Your point would make sense if you could show us a part of Nigeria that is developed like London because people from that side are so good and honest. IF you did, then we could advise others to take lessons. Unfortunately, no such example exists in Nigeria. |
They just want him to spend his money... there's no path for him in this election cycle. Next time perhaps. It's a pity too... based on all he has done, he would have been a great governor for Anambra (not as a politician, but as an administrator) OChimex:Yes indeed, you got it. Our system of politics is just too crooked, which won't allow good people to succeed. |
vincentjk:Its use as lingua franca aside, I think it's OK for people not to speak English in their own country. We're not English, and something inside me cringes when I speak English (my native tongue is Enuani - a dialect of the Igbo Language). So I personally condone somebody boldly telling you they don't speak English. How many English care to speak Irish or Welsh? |
So there's two cases of plural disagreement, and people drag this to front page as "an example of educational decay?" ![]() Of all the issues bedeviling us, this is what got somebody's ire? Na wah for grammarians. And in case you were wondering, my use of "there's two cases" is actually intentional - and correct. |
With usual ingenuity and hard work, the Chinese will solve this issue, while some of us will be calling out "end times" |
simplesearch:What I do notice is that societies that spend their time understanding and interpreting scripture rarely have time to live in the now and discover, harness, and invent ways to use nature productively. Ironically the West was at its most religious during the Dark Ages. What I am insinuating is that scripture has no relevancy to this flood. Rainwater floods underground tunnel.. big surprise. Guess what, it can be solved with drainage and pumps. It's been done in countless places. What next, the countless volcanoes we've had over millennia, including this one, are a "sign of the times" too? |
simplesearch:Left to all these scriptures, we'd have no electricity, no vaccines, no trains, no airplanes, no Internet. Quoting scripture can only take one so far. |
psucc:The engine was probably already damaged... electric motors do not like water. |
Daddy Nwa ![]() sonnie10:You're so right... people will be chooking mouth, not knowing that people are doing deals together, irrespective of origin. If you're busy hustling, you don't have time for chooking mouth. |
Commentor:This is Trinitas International Hospital, Umuchukwu - the one being talked about in this topic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnvAXDFxfVQ This is the Medical Reasearch Center, also in Umuchukwu - the one I think you're comparing to Vegas (I could be wrong) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWTjQ-XQH7k?t=797 10minutes, 20seconds into the video. |
Commentor:You're probably thinking of the medical research center. This is one of many small community hospitals/clinics he's built, apart from the recent center. |
This is how a government hardens people's hearts... Endless kidnapping and killings by people from north, yet government treats them with kid gloves. But agitators are being punished because the government ignored their pleas (and even punished them for protesting) when they complained against insecurity. Now they've said: "OK we're not doing one Nigeria again", and the solution is to punish them some more. End Sars violence, ransacking of police, and breaking into warehouses was just a dress rehersal. Remember how police disappeared from the streets during that time? Is government waiting for the mob to descend on them? At that time it would be too late because they will occupy airport runways, puncture plane tires, and the leaders who think they can run away will find their escape routes blocked. The humiliating death of Gadaffi should be a warning to leaders who take things too far... |
