Hi All,

Please I want to get a CPU 4 someone. The person already has the other accesories. Any idea where i can get a good one and an estimate of what it will cost? Any help will be appreciated. It doesn't have to be something big cos the person only needs it for stuff like typing and all that. Thanks

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by niyooo(m): 11:54am On Mar 10, 2008
Hi All,

Sorry bout the tone of my last post. I was actually peeved with someone in my office and i think going through Kuwena's post kinda got me riled a bit. I'm sure i'll just have ignored it as i had ignored many earlier posts that were even worse. Let me add something b4 i check outta here. Kuwena, no one hates you, no one wishes you evil or wishes you to fail, no one at least on this thread knew you from Adam b4 LNG joined us together and you decided to write about what you had been through and all that. Peeps on the thread sympathized with you and life went on. We all have our various stories though some might not be as dramatic or traumatic as others. We are all at the stage that will determine what we'll end up being in our lives ( a so-called critical stage in our lives) everyone is planning and scheming on how to make the most of this stage so that we'll have a good life for ourselves, our families and our families yet to be. If anyone makes it big tomorrow we'll all remember the time we were all young with bright ideas and beautiful plans for the future and those that are friends will reminesce on those times. Kuwena pls just concentrate on you and what you want, ignore completely your percieved notion of what anyone thinks or wishes for you 'cos when it is all said and done we are ultimately responsible for what we make of ourselves.

I'll not like to join in the religious argument 'cos it is only God and the individual involved who knows who is truly worshipping Him. Worshipping God is not all about the ceremonies and other activities that takes place in our places of worship but more of a mind thing. Kuwena, if you've decided to worship God "your own way" please go ahead and do so. You do not need anyone to convince/confuse you otherwise. You know the good thing about God is that He gave us all Free will. That is the power to decide what we want to do and so we'll also be resposible for such.

As a by-line b4 i go peeps if you have anything you are convinced about and want to do, please go ahead and do it, don't procrastinate about it, just go ahead and do it so you'll not rue the missed chance later in the future even if it leads to failure at least you'll have learned a lesson or two that will be beneficial in future. Just imagine if Bill Gates had decided to complete his education in the University or if he had asked for other people opinion? So Kuwena if you want to go to the US, go and we all pray you succeed cos it's always better if someone you know succeeds than someone you don't even know from Adam for obvious reasons.

Peace out.

Hi folks,

I must commend y'all for keeping the thread going, big ups to you guys (this also includes any lady(ies) on the thread). Though I just browse through what peeps post from time to time 'because I don't have the time to read it all not to talk of posting daily and on numerous occasion as some do. I must say you are lucky to be in working in areas that allow you post that much. So Y am i posting again? While browsing through replies, i noticed Mr Opoks and Mr. Kuwena don start again, (or more like i saw Opoks reply to something Kuwena had posted), so i had to go back to previous pages to see what Kuwena posted. At the risk of pouring petrol on this fire, I think i must comment again to Kuwena, that peeps are really not interested in what you want to do with your life, we all wish you success in whatever endeavour you want to carry out, after all at the end of the day, it's between you and your maker. If you want to worship the devil, for crying out loud it's your bloody life stop coming out here and whining about it and you can shove your egotism up the right place, why for Christ's sake do you think everyone envies you or is interested in you? You probably think that you are the epitome of perfection the way you carry on!!!! For Christ's sake get a life!!!!! I think you have a complex and probably look down your nose at other people like the Brits in the false belief that you are better than them and they actually wish they were like you, that's why you'll come out and make statements like "Blacks are inferior" and "I want to go where I'll fit in (being the US)" which literally means you feel you'll fit in with the Americans and leave us lesser inferior mortals to our idiosyncrasies!!!!! Let me explain some Gospel truth to you; People have their own issues to deal with to be overly interested in you. Some are thinking of other important issues that matter to them than to concentrate on "Kuwena-the handsome God-given talent to Nigeria that is not appreciated!!!!!!" Talking about physique, what do you want the wrestlers and other body builders to sayhuh?? Have you seen the picture of Arnold Scwazzeneger(I hope my spelling's correct) in recent timeshuh If you haven't, then go see it, you see what i'm telling you is that all that is just sand, perishable sand that diminishes as you age. What matters is not what you see when you gaze at the mirror but what you don't see in the mirror and i know you are knowledgable enough to know what i'm talking about.

It seems to me that you are just an attention seeker the way you carry on and on about yourself and i must tell you that empty barrels make the loudest noise as i'm sure you know. There's nothing new under the Sun and whatever you do has been done before. Stop coming on this thread and insulting our senses, if you think your being born in Nigeria is a mistake then you can go to America and become the next black president for all we care, that's just your bloody business, if you feel inferior because of the colour of your skin, then you can go the Wacko Jacko way, it's your life but for Christ's sake stop posting trash in the name of posting, you feel you've had it rough in life? Some people will thank God and give all they have to be in your position but all you can see is how you wish you were an american and all that, you  lost your dad, you passed through tough times and you have a bright future ahead of you, you are not an area boy under the bridge and yet you keep complaining about how you'll want to be an american, you really think the place is filled with Gold or something? Abeg make we hear word. Do whatever you want to do and you can post it if you like but please don't come here and insult me and mine because you didn't get employed in LNG.

If i've been a bit harsh, rude or uncouthly, I apologize to some people on this thread but the guy just vex me small. Make i go do my work abeg. Nothing do una

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by niyooo(m): 6:50pm On Jan 15, 2008
@ All,
A very good evening to you all. I have been following this thread almost since it started and have refrained from posting 'cos in as much as i appreciate the idea behind the thread, I've always had my doubts about NLNG. Not really because of the pay which i must confess i believe will be more that I'm earning right now but because I was considering the number of years i've put into the industry i'm working right now, the career plans i've charted out for myself, the self improvement professional courses i've completed, those i'm yet to complete, the leap i believe it would give me in the financial sector when i complete the courses and the fact that i've already gone a bit far on the ladder and i believe the LNG advert was for graduate trainees and i would not have wanted to start all over again. That said I didn't get the offer and so I recovered quickly since I had two minds about the job to start with.

The only reason i'm posting now is 'cos Kuwena just keeps on getting on my nerves. Can you please quit with all these silly and stupid postings of yours? Please go and get a life for Christs' sake. You just keep going from Bad to worse. You don't have to post the story of your life here and will you and Opoks stop replying to each others' posts? I barely have time to read you peeps lengthy posts and tend to wonder how you guys get the time to do all that during working hours.

Some things are private and are better left that way. Whatever you guys discuss in private should be kept that way. This also goes to Opoks, you don't have to tell us about every meet you had with everybody.

Its' been said that if a fool keeps quiet, there is a tendency to consider him a wise person. Please if anyone doesn't have any value to add to any post can you please refrain from posting. Christ.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Fired! by niyooo(m): 6:12pm On Dec 31, 2007
Some people never cease to amaze me and only make one to lose any form of hope for this country at all. I've seen different posters mouthing nonsense like Ribadu was removed so that Obj could be probed and other such nonsense like that. Pray do tell is EFCC the only organisation in Nigeria that can probe OBJ? Don't we have the Code of Conduct Bureau, ICPC and even the Police force (I laugh at that one myself) that are enabled by law to arrest people for corruption? If the government of the day wanted to probe OBJ, they could have used any of these other agencies. The simple truth is that Yaradua got the post through rigging and much of the funds used was state funds stolen by ex-governors, and Ibori was high up on the list of supporters so how do you expect him to sleep soundly when his major benefactor is on his way to gaol? Or do you think Ibori will choose to go down silently? I'm sure the memory of Turaki is still fresh in our minds, remember what he said he used the money he stole for when he was picked up? He cried out that he used if to support the 3rd term bid of OBJ so I'm sure Ibori would also have cried out if Ribadu had been allowed to have his way.
It's all so simple Ribadu is being removed at this point in time because the government in power is not clean and with this single step Nigeria has been thrown back to the dark ages just when we were beginning to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

Is it the Attorney General who was a lawyer for one of the ex-governors accused of corruption by the EFCC before he was appointed AG that will come out and now start fighting corruption?

Agreed the fight against corruption might have been lop-sided but at least something was being done and it doesn't stretch the imagination too much for loyalties to switch sides in this country, if the current president wanted Obj probed he could still have given Ribadu the directive to do that, afterall we know who got El-Rufai into Government and we know whose side he ended up taking when Obj and Atiku were having their rofo-rofo fight.

For those of you who come out and start defending the indefensibles (I'll not stoop as low as to call your names, you all know yourselves) I pray that you get what you have coming to you pretty soon. With people like you in this country, Nigeria is ever going to remain the pipe dream that it is right now. You think if Ribadu had stolen all those monies and built all those mansions some of you keep shouting about it would not have been blown open by the people who are shouting that he is persecuting them? Abeg you people should let us hear word.

While i agree that Ribadu is not EFCC and anyone can head the organisation, i think deep down in our minds we know that he (Ribadu) was removed 'cos the powers that be who have looted us blind are not comfortable with the way the young man was going after them.
BusinessRe: Bad Experiences You've Had With Your Banks? by niyooo(m): 2:53pm On Dec 02, 2007
The truth of the matter is that to most of the banks, ur money is very little compared to their other transactions so unless you are a Dangote or Otedola or some other big shot who is a mover and shaker, they don't really give a shit about you and of course the Dangote's and Otedola's and co do not have to go to the banks for anything rather the bank is moved to wherever they desire to do their transactions so why do you think the bank employees in most cases should care about ur couple of hundred thousands? I'm not defending them but i'm just trying to explain what causes the lethargic and sometimes downright insultive behaviour of most of them. Some of them are actually better than others, in this sense i think Zenith, GTB, BankPHB and some other ones are fair, I can't comment on those i've not been to but i think some like firstbank, Union, Uba and Intercontinental can improve on their customer friendliness. For some of them it's 'cos of the large number of customers but for other's whom i won't mention, their staff just need an outright change of attitude.

The interview was conducted for all the positions advertised for in Lagos and Abuja. So if you got no letter, that means you weren't invited.

The interviews for the various positions are taking place on the 5th and 6th of November respectively so if you've not received your letter by tomorrow friday, it probably means you weren't called. Good luck to all propective candidates.

CareerRe: ICAN Has Rejected Me Again by niyooo(m): 6:44pm On Aug 01, 2007
@ poster,

Take heart. Just confess and believe that November is your diet. At this point i wouldn't recommend that you start attending lectures anymore, I'll just advise that you get enough materials like one of the earlier posters recommended and read up on your own. I passed SFM this last diet which happened to be the only paper i was sitting for and also happened to be the only reference i ever had during the course of the exam. I know it is God that blesses and rewards ones' efforts but you have to sacrifice a lot for God to bless. Now that i'm qualified, all the sleepless nights and other discomforts seem like nothing. As they say, the taste of the pudding is in the eating so I'll say get materials and sacrifice time and come back sometime in January to inform us that you are now Chartered. Good luck

PoliticsRe: Invasion Of DAAR Communications Abuja by niyooo(m): 8:20am On Jun 18, 2007
What I heard is that DAAR communications encroached on others lands when they were building and that they had been told while constructing that they were encroaching. I don't know how true it is but i think the FCDA should be more open on why they are destroying the premises.
CareerRe: I Need Info On Ican by niyooo(m): 8:58am On Jun 13, 2007
The exams are written in May and November every year. If you have time and can get materials, you may decide to read on your own. Since you read agric economics, I don't think you'll be given any exemption but i'll advise you to go to the nearest ICAN office and make enquiries and register on time if you plan to write the November diet of the exam 'cos it takes some time for the registration to be completed.

FamilyRe: Husbands Who Ask Their Wives To Resign Their Jobs by niyooo(m): 12:15pm On May 13, 2007
I believe both parties should discuss it b4 their marriage and reach an agreement. However i believe it all has to do with the type of job. Usually it's in situations where the wife works in Banks in Nigeria that this kind of thing will usually come up. I have a friend that leaves home as early as 5.00 a.m and sometimes is still in the office by 10.00 p.m and has been known to get home after 12 midnight atimes and to make matters worse, they also practise weekend banking!!!!! which requires going to work every saturday and they also go on Sundays atimes. Now if you were the husband and you had kids wouldn't u rather that she gets a less tedious even if less financially rewarding job than that? Luckily she's yet to get married but i'm very sure when she does this kind of job will be a major source of discontent between the couple. I'm not an advocate of house wives but i think the home shouldn't unnecessarily suffer because of the wife's job.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Cbn Applications. by niyooo(m): 11:52am On Apr 19, 2007
@ alnuhu,

Confirm your facts. Is it the vacancy for IT you're talking about or Security? Methinks the question is directed towards that of IT. If it's security then i think some people have gone for interview and the result should be out soon. As for the IT advert, no one has been called.

I'm out of here.

Technology MarketBuying A Tablet Computer Or A Laptop by niyooo(op): 7:33pm On Apr 13, 2007
Hi techies,

I have an issue i need assitance on from you guys that are knowledgeable in IT. I asked my friend to get me a laptop but what he got was just not it at all as in it was very clear that it had been used and even over-used. He's now trying to offer me an HP  tablet. The xtics i got from the properties are "HP Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2500 @ 2.00GHz 997 MHz. 504 MB of RAM." The tablet as i'm sure y'all know does not have CD player though i was told i could buy one. It has Intel Centrino Duo. It is fairly new. It has facilities to connect with blue tooth also.

What i want to know is what is a good price for the computer and if i have to get an external CD player and connect it to it, can i get one that is CD/DVD RW and what price can i expect to pay for the external CD player?

If there are any features you want me to check, just tell me how to go about it and i'll communicate back to you.

I'll really appreciate your suggestions as i have to decide sometime next week if i want it or not.

Thanks all.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: First Bank Interveiw- Is Suit Cumpulsory? by niyooo(m): 2:26pm On Apr 12, 2007
@ chydon,

The workers may not wear suits everyday but u should allow the guy get the job first, after he gets the job he can decide to dress how he likes based on what he meets wherever he is posted. Whoever is going for the interview should endeavour to get a suit. Good luck to y'all.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: First Bank Interveiw- Is Suit Cumpulsory? by niyooo(m): 9:44pm On Apr 11, 2007
@ topic,

What the hell kind of question is that? You are going for a Bank interview and don't want to wear a suit? Don't you know marks will be awarded for dressing, composure, appearance and stuff like that? In the Banking industry you are required to wear suit to the office almost everyday cos they expect you to portray the Bank's image well. In fact for any interview it's always advisable to wear a suit. If you don't have and don't have money to buy then please borrow. They don't actually expect you to come with the most expensive suit but please try as much as possible to go with a suit that fits fairly well and is fairly clean.

Best of luck.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nlg Test,how Fast Was It? by niyooo(m): 6:57pm On Mar 27, 2007
@ dungar,

Is it the whole process from accreditation to completion of the exam that was four hours or just the exam itself? 'Cos from what sweetjoy explained the test itself should be about 80mins?

@ topic,

I'll advise you to try the LNG stuff and hope you finish early and then probably charter a cab or even a bike (if there'll be hold up) and pray for the best. And make sure you try to relax and concentrate on the LNG test or you'll end up being too tense and messing up both chances. I believe we all agree LNG is a better place but you've gone far on the PZ stuff, Just pray to your God and hope for the best.
