has yaraduas actions so far in power showcase someone with common sense or the will to move nigeria forward. has the calibre and integrity of his appointees motivated u to believe there is future under his leadership?

during obj's regime, aggrieved persons like atiku and amaechi went to court to contest infringments of their rights, but yaradua's government is sytematical deystroying all hopes of ever getting justice in nigeria. his bribery of the court of appeal president just weeks to ruling, the electoral fraud in adamawa n bayelsa and many nepotical appointments, the power debacle amongst others all point to a man in the dark without vision.

make objective points as to why yaradua is/ or will make a good president and move away from subjective tissues.

all these three men recieved promises, but these promises took time to manifest as said by God in His word.

the only thing they had in common was that they held the testimony and prophecy HE gave them, and all through the waiting period they continued to please HIM. and because He is the living witness, their prophecy and testimony came to pass.

the opposite example was the children of isreal.
u know the story, they went to slavery for the sins of abraham. but even in slavery, He made them a promise and prophecy that they shall not serve beyond 400 years after which they shall find rest in the promised land.
they did not please God with their ways, they grumbled when their time was up. but they paid for it with aditional 30 years of slavery.

Moses was called to lead the children of isreal to the promised land he promised their fathers (Exodus 3:8 ), one mistake on the way and he became history. Moses is a typical example of one who displeased God and never recieved the testimony and prophecy.

When u recieve a good prophecy, await your testimony in righteousness. plead for the grace to await it without sin.
when u recieve an unfavourable prophecy, denounce the testimony and make proclamations using the word of God to affect a change. king Ezekiah is a notable example

To the issue u raised.
first u must note that Gen25:23 is a prophecy. Since God is omniscient, he sees beyond.
He knew that this children will each be the favourite of their parents. Isaac to Esau and Jacob to Rebecca. He knew of the blessings Isaac wants to pass to Esau and the schemings of Rebecca. you already know this part of the story.

If God had decreed it so, then there was no way out for Esau. But every prophecy that does not speak well of u can be reversed, that was exactly what Esau did. Though Jacob got the blessing and was well blessed, Esau broke the yoke and never served Jacob and Esau had more than jacob in terms of all.

Lets examine the scriptures together
Genesis 32 vs 4. Jacob acknowledges he is a servant compared to Esau.
Genesis 33 vs 3-8 Jacob and his entire household including his servants bows to Esau 7 times and Jacob called Esau "MY LORD".
Genesis 33 vs 9 Esau rejects jacobs gifts because he was far more blessed.

The fate of Esau was as a result of the wranglings and scheming of his parents. God's word was only a prophecy and just like jabeez did, Esau refused to be poor neither did he serve jacob.

If a pastor says u will die tommorow, its only a word of prophecy, what u do about it determines wether u die or not.

the least the private universities charge is 300k per session. my question is that what is the purpose of setting up these institutions? and who are the targeted people?

giving subsidized and affordable education to the church by the church should not be subject to watering down educational standards, since the schools are supposedly biult by the church.

except the church has resulted to the suspected, there is no moral and spiritual justification for such expensive education (with exemption to RCCG who to the best of my knowledge offer scholarships) from the church

Attempts have been made by several people to assess the yaradua goverment over the past one year. while many are quick to judge him because of the turbulent but peculiar power situation others are quick to adjudge him as Nigerias long awaited messiah for no justifiable reason. I choose to belong to neither of these schools of thought.

But to fairly assess the yaradua government one has to clearly understand or state what ones expectations are, and then compare them to the present efforts on ground by this government.

What were my expectations of the president?

1) I expected the president to assemble a team of competent and impeccable men and women as ministers and aides. Not more than 36 ministers and no more than neccesary aides. people whose credibility is beyond debate, Dora akinyuli, pat utomi readily come to mind.

2) I expected the president to consolidate on his predecessors attempts to fight corruption. but the president must understand that these fight against corruption was as a result the immediate post abacha and babangidas years. but we are now in an era where we make far more money than we made uring these wasted years. In consolidating the war, we must bgin preventive measures against corruption. There is an element of greed in every human being, but a system that makes it possible for someone to still a billion naira and transfer such abroad is a faulty one. preventive measures need be taken.

3) I expected the strenghtening of democratic institutions and adherence to the rule of law. This institutions include EFCC, the legislature at all levels, ICPC, Police and the judiciary.

4) I expected the president to ensure food security. private sector and state governments should be encouraged to massively get involved in local food production. the likes of dangote and other manufacturers should be encouraged to go into farming production for their raw materials againast the practice of them importing such from foreign nations.

5) I expected the gradual derugulation via issuance of more licences and enablement of small and medium scale industries of many sectors of the economy to allow "ventilation" and enable job creation.

6) since the president is from the party with a ruling majiority, I expected the local governments to have a clear direction. they should either enable qualitative primary and secondary education, adequate health care facilities or sanitation initiatives, which they are to pursue vigorously.

7) I dont expected the president to solve the power crisis in the country, nor repair all fedral roads immediately. but regardless of how wasteful his predecesor was, I expected him to continue with the power policy, even if as a short term rmedy, then we can talk about a probe.

I expected a honest and interactive government, that carries us all along.

Though yaradua has averagely strenghtened democratic institutions by his non interference in some instances, but from the afforementioned, it is obvious that yaradua has not met my expectations of a president taking us on the part of greatness. He has neither appointed credible and patriotically driven passionate men into his government nor has he made any effort to prevent the incessant looting around, he has practically deystroyed any mode of food security by budgeting 84 bilion to import food, when less than half of that could be used to set the nation on the path of self sufficiency in terms of food.

While I m not bothered by the ethnicity of appointees, the nothernazation of appointees is a backward step. And while I did not expect yaradua to repair Nigeria within a year, there is however a lot that can be done in a year.

what were your expectations? and were they met?

I hope this serves as a lesson to others.
