PoliticsRe: Meet Dr. Sanusi Ohiare, The Youngest Executive Director In Nigeria by nograv: 8:59am On Jan 22, 2019
alizma:
Sanusi Ohiare was born on 6 th of March, 1985 (32), in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, but originally hails from Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria.
He had his primary education at Academy Staff School Suleja, Niger State, before proceeding to the Federal Government College, Kwali – Abuja, for his secondary education.
Sanusi obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Jos, Plateau State, where he graduated with a second class honours, upper division (2.1) in 2006.
He later attended the renowned Centre for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom, where he obtained a Master of Science degree in Energy Studies, with Specialization in Energy Finance in 2011;
He also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Rural Energy Development from the prestigious Institute for Energy and Sustainable Development (IESD), De Montfort University, Leicester, UK in 2014, and is currently the only Nigerian with that specialization.
Unfortunately bros, many Nigerians have better qualifications than this guy. Even I do...

We all know that Nepotism played a hand in how he came to be in his position.

Little in Nigeria when it comes to government roles is based on merit. Given his name is Sanusi, his appointment seems typical for this administration..

Nigeria should be a country where positions are awarded on merit and nothing else. The northern region has done more than others to undermine meritocracy in Nigeria..

grin And he said that I'm the one that's getting angry grin

Anyway, I'm done with you. You still didn't address the points in my previous posts, you are talking about primaries as if this is a primary, you didn't provide any evidence of this conspiracy, you didn't explain how Sowore was able to appear on thr Candidates or Good Morning Nigeria if this conspiracy really existed, you are talking about 10 candidates when there are 70 candidates in this election and every single one will protest being excluded, etc. You are just going round in circles and throwing red herrings everywhere.

I'm done with you. I won't read or respond to your posts. I don't have time to waste anymore. Takia
Bros stop moving the goalposts, we were originally talking about the main TV candidates of which Sowore was one. I mention debates taking place in the US with 10 candidates, then you start talking about 70 candidates which wasn’t your original line of argument cheesy

So what if Sowore has been granted an audience on other channels? That is a lovely “red herring”, we are debating why he was excluded from channels TV debates nothing more.

Of course you will run away once you have been shown up to be a flag bearer for the old brigade..

I see no one has thumbed up your posts, which is good the youth are beginning to see beyond your lies..

Why would I get angry over an online discussion? I'm not a kid. I just don't want to waste my time.

Listen, I've got nothing against Sowore. In fact, I wrote on the debate thread that I wish that he and Olawepo Hashim had been invited (especially as Buhari and Atiku didn't show up).

However, too many Nigerians have this habit of getting emotional and spinning incredible conspiracy theories when things don't go their way and they don't have a single shred of evidence to back up their cliams.

Do you think that Sowore would have been able to appear on Good Morning Nigeria on the NTA if there was some grand conspiracy against him? Do you think he would have been able to appear on The Candidates on the NTA if there was some grand conspiracy against him?

What about other candidates that don't even have the opportunity to appear on The Candidates, Good Morning Nigeria or the debate? I guess there are super grand conspiracies against them?

Man, this is just a waste of time! You are obviously a Sowore fanboy and you won't listen to anyone else.
Actually I am not a Sowore fanboy. In truth he is untested, but he the best of a bad choice of leaders..

I have the good fortune of being able to live abroad if I want, but most Nigerians dont. If Nigeria is to change we do need leaders not linked to the old guard.

What set me against Buhari is the fact that he was a former despot. Also he has shown little ability as president and shown to have severe ethnic bias towards his fellow Northerners.

With Atiku, I knew I didnt like him when walking around the national museum in Lagos I saw a photo of him alongside Buhari, Murtala and Obasanjo. I never knew he was part of the same cabal that failed this nation..

He maybe untested, but he more likely to be more the same than offer anything new. Given his inability to condemn the Fulani herdsmen he seems to be of the same mould as Buhari.. Also given the accusations of corruption that have always followed him, why would anyone think he is good candidate?

In the US Republican primaries up to 10 candidates debated at one time. So this excuse about only being able to have a limited number of candidates is nonsense..

Dont excuse Nigerian nonsense.

Nice try. Affirmati Non Neganti Incumbit Probatio. He who asserts must prove.

You are the ones who have stated that there is some grand conspiracy against Sowore, therefore you must provide proof of the conspiracy.

You are the ones who stated that John Momoh has beef with him, therefore you must provide proof of that beef. It doesn't work the other way round.

https://www.channelstv.com/bon-nedg-2019-presidential-debate/
I guess not, as I expected...

A true online poll shows the numbers and result even when it is closed.

I guess we are at an impasse.

What we do know is that channels tv made some unverifiable claims about public demand for certain candidates.

Whereas Sowore feels he was excluded, so much so that he went to court..

Given the dirty campaigns run by previous politicians including the current administration I know who I believe..

Ahh Nigeria..

PoliticsRe: Omoyele Sowore Live On "The Candidates" On January 23rd, 2019 By 7pm by nograv: 12:23pm On Jan 21, 2019
naptu2:
The producers of these shows have to prune down the number of candidates that can appear on their shows. There are quite a lot of candidates (around 70 candidates) and not all of them can appear.

Therefore, the producers of these shows set up online polls and got viewers to vote for the top 4 or 5 candidates that they would like to see.

Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, Oby Ezekwesili, Kingsley Moghalu and Fela Durotoye were the top 5 for the debate (Sowore sued the debate organisers because they excluded him).

Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, Omoyele Sowore, and Kingsley Moghalu were the top 4 for "The Candidates" (no Oby Ezekwesili or Fela Durotoye).

There were many other candidates that were excluded completely, e.g. Jerry Gana and Olawepo Hashim.

I think that the NTA's "Good Morning Nigeria" show is the only show that is featuring all the candidates. They have been featuring presidential candidates on their show since November (Donald Duke, Jerry Gana, Omoyele Sowore and Alistair Soyede are some of the candidates that have appeared on the show. I have never heard of some of the candidates that appeared on the show before they were featured).
I wish I could believe you..

Unfortunately, we all know how Nigeria works and a young upstart debating is the last thing the old brigade want to deal with.

We can only go on what the station says are the numbers. No one else can qualify the supposed online polls...

Sowore was excluded because he is an actual threat. He is articulate and genuinely wants to pursue some progressive ideas. For the likes of Buhari and Atiku, debating with him would be suicide..

That was the reason he was excluded...

You have been blindfolded by ethnocentric and politcal swallowiness...how do want to judge right..

I know what is good for me, you are not in the position to dictate your corrupt and biased mindset to me...
That's not the point. When Obama took over from Bush he inherited a terrible US economy and a number of foreign policy failures. The odds were that he was more likely to fail than succeed.

He saved the US banking system with a massive stimulus package
He saved American car manufacturers with massive cash injections for GM and Chrysler.
He also pushed for America to invest in newer green technologies like Electric Car technology. One of the results of this progressive policy was the US electric car champion TESLA.
He stabilised US relations with the Middle East. Withdrawing from costly conflicts where possible. US foreign approval ratings rose dramatically as a result.

In short he turned around the US economy and steered it to greater highs.

Buhari inherited some issues, but unlike Obama he did not improve matters he actually made things WORSE!!!! QUITE AN ACHIEVEMENT

1. Boko Haram still ravages the north and now Shias appear to be on the cusp of taking up violence against the government.. WORSE

2. Yes there was poverty under the previous administration, but under Buhari it has gotten worse. With higher prices for basics like food and petrol. While we have seen no significant improvements in infrastructure be it power, water, roads or gas WORSE.

3. Depletions in the treasury. Looting has always been an issue in the Nigerian system. But under Buhari we have seen no significant improvement or change. In fact what is becoming clear is that predations on state coffers has continued only to Northern rather than Southern hands. Additionally stolen funds returned from the west have not resulted in any increased public spending, in fact the dullard has borrowed even more from the Chinese for infrastructure projects?? WORSE

4. As for ethnocentricism, don't make me laugh. Was it not Ahmedo Bello who famously said "he would rather choose a Hausa or a Foreign Expatriate over a Igbo??". Some of the most anti-meritocratic policies implemented in Nigeria were created because of the Northerners, quotas and regional rotations etc. So please don't go down that line of argument..

It is Buhari's failure to take action on the Fulani Herdsmen menace that has led to even more ethnic strife in Nigeria. He along with Atiku have shown themselves to be very partisan. Even his own appointments were very biased towards Northerners when compared to Jonathan. So again don't go down that line of argument.. So again WORSE..

5. Political Shallowness. Hardly, I studied Politics and Economics at a top western university, I have a good idea of what makes a modern democracy tick. Neither Buhari or Atiku have any decent credentials to be modern democratic statesmen. Neither have any clear policies beyond soundbites about reducing corruption or moving Nigeria forward. Buhari was a former despot for goodness sake...

Say what you like about Sowore, but he has policy ideas be it on the minimum wage and what is needed to restructure the Nigerian economy for the better.

Also Sowore is not linked to the existing Cabal that has led to the Nigeria of today, which can only be a good thing. Atiku is part of the same group of Nigerian leadership who took a country that had a higher GDP per capita than South Korea and China at independence to the impoverished nation it is today. Yet you say we should continue to entrust our futures to these useless old men??

Bros you are confused or another APC pig with his nose in the trough.. If that is the case then admit to it, but don't try to pretend that the APC or PDP have anything to offer the average poor Nigerian because they really don't.

In fact I will give you a chance tell me why Buhari or Atiku are the men to lead Nigeria??

What are Buhari's achievements?

What policies can we look forward to in his second term? Please tell me?? Mtcheww...

PoliticsNGR learned that the EFCC raid comes amidst allegations of false assets and non-assets declaration levelled against Justice Onnoghen in a petition written to the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

The CCB had acted on an earlier petition written to it and the EFCC by Mr Dennis Aghanya, the Executive Secretary of the Anti-Corruption and Research-Based Data Initiative (ARDI).

Aghanya is a former media aide of President Muhammadu Buhari.
