As it stands, there seems to be a superior argument in favor of Contract Staff within the Mgt circle. This is for a number of reasons amongst which is the fact that they already have requisite hands-on experience/training over the years. So, Why hire new EHs when you have already expended resources to train Contract Staff?

As such, they’re considering proceeding with GTs and shelving EH applicants. No final resolution has been made yet as they’re still weighing the options and having meetings.

In the end, there might just be some middle-ground agreement.. take from here and there.

The guy that brought up the issue of EH deleted his post in the name of security reasons. Why didn't he think of the security reasons before he posted what he posted? Some of these guys are just here to create panic. The GMD simply said the recruitment will be completed soon and not GTs will be brought in soon.

Chief, I totally Understand Your point of view but the bowl of contention here is whether or not certain operations can wind-off during year end. Is it possible for operations to continue on the interim? The Answer is Yes.... Is it also possible for there to be a halt on the interim? Absolutely.... As long as such operations do not interfere with Production, Sales and certain other major functionalities, then they could be tweaked at least to certain extent.

HR et al are only supports, if they decide to halt the recruitment now to proceed in the new year, It will not put the Company in jeopardy, that's the point I'm trying to make....

NB: I would totally absolutely love for APL to drop before year end.....

HR cannot decide to halt the recruitment just on their own accord. If the GMD gives them a deadline of this month to wrap up the recruitment, they sure would ensure it's completed this year.

Another thing I forgot to add is she said that given the amount of publicity the recruitment has faced of recent, the comprehensive list (FOR GT'S ONLY) would probably be published in a National daily FIRST, immediately before notifications are sent. AND also that the recruitment is NOT hinging on any court case, that the NNPC committee set up to oversee the recruitment is bent on settling the matter out of court, series of meetings have been held with the lawyer in question and his lawyer...

1. GMD promised to complete the recruitment

2. Offer likely to come before end of first quarter 2020 (could be as fast as end of this year - he/she mentioned this but I wish I didnt add it, dont want people to start mentioning my name by 31 Dec if nothing happens)

3. The guy that went to court is an attention seeker that has been ignored. This recruitment will be completed.

DISCLAIMER: While the source is close to top powers in the system, I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the info but what I’m most sure of is, the recruitment will not be canceled. GMD expressly mentioned that.

So many people including me won't be happy if truly the process has been halted.but in a realistic stance too many tins are wrong in this country.first don't forget people also got to this same stage that u are in now in 2014 and since the govt came on board,they halted the process and more than 500 people has been employed tru d backdoor.This same recruitment they not only limited people with age but also limited polytechnic graduate insisting that they must posses a master degree (I don't know who gave them that law).what ever should be should be,I insist let's get tins right for once even if it means starting the whole process again.why were scores not posted if truly they wanted to be sincere.
