topsydee007: Good afternoon everyone. Merry Christmas to each and everyone of us.
I am a here to seek advise. Kindly help me out.
I am a bolt pilot in Abuja for about 2 years now and I want to move down to Lagos to try other thungs but will firstly rely on this Uber/bolt hustle for survival.
In Abuja here. You only need your vehicle papers and DL ... Will I need additional documents in Lagos?
In Abuja over time I have learnt the dos and don'ts and areas not to dare pick rider and I am very familiar Abuja road.
My major challenge is Lagos is that I am not familiar with the road network and fear of NURTw thugs/lastman and all.
I would really appreciate if someone can give me hint of how Lagos hustle is like and tips that might guide me daily.
Thanks in anticipation of your responses. Come to Lagos. This is where the cheddar is. Nurtw . in Lagos, they don't have your time...
Nurtw in Lagos are not like the lowlifes in Area 1, Berger, Apo Bridge, Nicon junction, minister's hill, and Wuse market. The market share here is too huge. You have no biz with Lastma as long as you don't break any traffic laws. Read the thread from like June last year. You will be fine. |

Kamikaze42: The business is not that bad so far the car is his or hers.
For me, I do part time as follows:
1. One ride towards office in the morning 2. Two or max 4 rides in the evening 3. 9 hours approximately sat and sundays
I receive lots of cash trips which I use for mundane things for house and still get alert of at least 16k to 20k every Monday (Uber). I strongly believe someone doing it full time would make much more.
PS. My gross before fuel weekly is always more than 50k despite the short duration of working. So it is not as bad jare especially with surge and bonuses. B. A lot of man hours are lost during the weekdays ( a lot of drivers wait endlessly for trips during the day which don't happen, forget Xmas . 5-9am, 5-10pm, these time belts aggregate the highest volume of trips in a day. C. The guy who grossed over 200k on watsap group. Over 40% of that score was made over the weekend. Yet he still worked for 7 days in a week. Longer hours do not necessarily translate to more earnings. |

ekehopp: Senior men dem,
Changing shock absorbers after 6 months (Toyota Camry, front alone. While adding air to 2 back shocks) is it a normal occurrence on this job?
Or something fundamentally wrong? If you drive in Abuja. Something is wrong. I drove in Abuja for 2 straight years before I changed my shocks. If you go to Jabi, as of then to fill your absorbers with oil cost around 1k each. If one is not observant, the toks shocks sold are often the bad shocks that was refilled with oil n fitted with tokunbo springs. |

Felicity0001: Strongly disagree with this... My bolt commission two weeks ago was above 22k, fast forward to present week, 17k+ that's because I didn't work on Monday and Tuesday... Not working today as. I almost hit the 22trips threshold for the 7k bonus if not for my car breakdown.
Their system is just bad generally born just the rating alone.
Where have you been tho, good to hear from you. MY brother, as the 800k matter Com dey dey one kind. I Just push my head enter some other engagements last week. |

Bolt rating is meant to manipulate the driver to make money for them at all cost. The moment the machine /algorithm sees that you are not making money for them evidenced by constant cancellations / refusal to pick orders. The app starts dropping your ratings, so that it has a justification to push you out of the system. Once, it appears you have repented and you now pick more orders, it will put a halt on the expulsion process. |

For instance, To cross from ojodu berger to Yaba. You hv to pass through either Ketu ( Magodo axis expressway) or ikorodu road. ( areas on lock down). |

Sakamanjeh99: Please house...is it wise to chnge my radiator to double cell as temp is alwys rising once a while.... Your radiator fins are clogged. Find a way to flush it,( I do not mean the external flushing with the car wash guys). Unmount the radiator, ask them ( the radiator guys, not car wash) to wash the fins for you. Then, buy original coolant. You should be fine afterwards. |

Bolt is ready to cash out during this period. Esp the last 3 weeks of the year. The wisdom here is to pace your efforts towards the time the surge starts during the day. |

InfinityEstates: Noted Bro. But what if the rider then paid like 2K? Would they have reduced the price to N2800?
Bolt surge trips make sense sha, when you are the driver. They kinda expect you to make efforts to collect your money in the most diplomatic way. It's always a war sha if the surge trip is not a card trip. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird: 12:38pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
@ infinity.
It wasn't a glitch. A downward review was done on the price.
Bolt just needs a cut from the pie. It doesn't show the riders the exact fare, but it informs them that fares may be higher bla bla.
A typical rider ignores that. |

davit: So far you click on Arriving now before rider comes, the paid waiting is always added to your fare. The calculation is in 5, 10, 15 mins etc. Paid waiting between 5 to 9 mins will count as 5 mins etc. The best Paid waiting time is when the trip is on surge. When not on surge, 5 mins adds 100 naira to your money. But in surge, you get more based on the kind of surge. Davit, sorry for derailing, Have you been able to get back on bolt. |

Felicity0001: Don't mind Bolt, I finally did 17 trip with 93% completion rate as at 16th trip, I haven't seen the challenge dashboard since it expire to know how far. No bonus was added to my account.
Bolt na scam! , I would rather say they have mastered the art of manipulation.. I don't get weekend bonus cos I filter trips a lot. I don't go everywhere even on weekends. Focus more on your earnings rather than the bonus. 3 Saturdays ago. I net 22k (before fuel) without bonus. Tbh, once I achieve the required threshold in a day. Bonus or not, I'm heading home. No more trips except those heading towards my destination. It's a machine, it has no emotions, if you allow it, it will drain you till you are spent. |

I don't see any difference. Is it not the same protocol being applied here? 12a.m - 12noon. Switch of lanes, status quo still remains or is there a change in the traffic mgt plan.? From Adekunle, they switch unto the Adenjji - oworonshoki lane. |

Kamikaze42: My few experiences in my 1 month driving with only Uber.
1. I ride on my way to the office (Lekki to VI), going back home and then weekends. I have done 128 trips (Trips request: 303, Declined: 78, Cancelled: 16) 2. I am currently on 4.81 rating ( 5 Star: 65, 4 Star: 4, 3 Star: 1, 1 Star: 2 (No Nose Mask)) 3. Total net earnings: 130,524 (Including fuel) 4. Got a tip of $30 (#14,250) from a rider rushing to the international airport 5. Still struggling to get #4,900 from a woman I also took to the airport but with issues on bank transfer (Jaiz to Zenith) 6. Met different kinds of people, mostly normal. The rides are usually silent with only radio as I do not talk much. 7. I am already developing lower back pain and my odometer reading is just rising at astronomical rate.
How would you rate my 1 month report? You are doing well for starters... With time, you will have a grasp of how traffic situation works and how to exploit it. Back pain? Watch your diet, don't sit too long at a spot,. Only Uber? Try the Bolt app, you will get a better bang for your buck on Bolt especially weekdays. ( specific destination trips.).Cheers! |

Even if he talked to him anyhow, does that give him right to withold the money of the service he enjoyed. Does he expect the driver to praise or beg him after initially doing fake transfer Baba, you sef dey reason am ba? I don't really know what transpired between him and the rider. But the moment he made a fake transfer, whatever honour he had left has gone down the drain. I see this disposition in other service based occupations as well, is it a Nigerian thing or what? I mean why do people use a service and you still have to beg them to pay? |

fdmskincare: Good morning house, this tread as been very helpful .am new to e hailing, started October, so far it been good.until last sunday when some yahoo boys book me, we drove around lekki for almost 3hours,at the end of the day bolt charge 1800. the guy do fake transfer for me,cos I didnt want to waste time I didnt wait to confirm.sent texts, call the guy he no pick my calls again.please guys help,I know it's not much but 1800 go still fit buy fuel....his number 07037913378 please. Sorry about your ordeal. Go to the trip in question and report that the rider didn't pay, the account of the rider will be blocked . If you do this, the rider might even call you to make payments, if the rider frequently uses the service. @ d emboldened, don't carry people around at short distances and expect to be rewarded on bolt. Ask yourself, is 8 naira per minute worth waiting for ?, its crap pay, but that's what it is, so don't keep waiting for riders You have been baptized into the grind. . More wins ahead... |
