Avalon 11 has a very good luxury, rare vehicle and very reliable but avalon looks like a car to be chauffeured in.

Acura TL uses premium fuel, drives lovely on road, good looking but not cheap in maintenance

ES350, luxurious, reliable, good fuel economy of the lot but pure water car, too common abeg.

Avalon 09 is just like the 11 but good for personal driving but not too executive and image boosting as the 11 model

Good afternoon Nairalanders, please i have a question to ask here.

My Wife drives a 2006 XLE Toyota camry V6, some 2 months ago the car started overheating and due to the lack of trust i have for my mechanic i had to try another mechanic for sake of second opinion. Well they wasted a bunch of my time without result so i had to go back to my mechanic, and he told me there is something he would do and the car will stop overheating. Well he accessed something around the compartment of the engine close to the inlet hose of the radiator and from no where the car stopped over heating. I have been asking him what he did and he kept on saying he is not going to tell me.

Well from no where the car started vibrating when you accelerate and this same mechanic told me that its the shaft (The side to the Gear box ) and also when you decelerate and try to accelerate again the car gives some squeaky sound like the engine is cranking and oga said the top gasket is flat.

Out of curiosity i took the car for a diagnosis the car never detected a flat top gasket or dead shaft but instead it showed that the thermostat is malfunctioning, which i suspect oga mechanic had by passed without telling me.

My question now is that if a car has a flat top gasket or any other related mechanical issue like bad shaft can it be detected by diagnostic kit?

Sorry for my long epistle please help me so that this man does not knock my engine.

Some vehicle can eg mercedes benz never a toyota or Lexus of such years. Also results would come in technical terms like cylinder bank so so so low or no compression it is now the technician that will scrutinize it and find out gasket is the cause, rings or valve etc.

But no scanner would tell you your gasket is flat out, gasket has no sensor.

Civic better fuel economy good looking and easy to maintain.

Avensis bigger interior, the 2.4az may not be prone to oil burn, but cost of body parts.

I have always loved avensis because it's an affordable toyota and not a robbers magnet like other offering

I have a 06 Toyota Sienna 13 pin with a bad transmission. A mechanic told me the 13 pin gear can be converted to 10 pin because 10 pin gear is more reliable and even cheaper. He said the 13 pin gear is very problematic on Toyota Sienna. I want to know if I should buy the 10 pin gear or go ahead and buy the factory follow come 13 pin. Please advice.. Thank you.

none is better than the other, highlander has 3rd row seating and bigger cargo space. The special edition of rav4 too has 3rd row seating but smaller cargo space.

Both are CUV and have same engine variant 2.4L i4 and 3.3L V6 for highlander, 2.4L i4 and 3.5L V6 for the Rav 4. buy the one you fancy out of the two once they pass the quality inspection.

I have been buying chinese tyres since the days of 11k for brand-new 2016 there about double king tyres, it was recently I read NL that people complain of double king as not lasting pass 1 year so I decided to ditch it and buy another chinese brand Road-X, online reviews was little to non existent but if he last 2years I thank God as long as it doesn't bulge or burst on speed.

08-13 toyota highlander

1AR-FE 2.7L 4 cylinder engine 187hp 5 passenger seater

2GR-FE 3.5L V6 engine 270hp 7 passenger seater.

Though the 5 passenger can be made into 7 seater you just buy the seats and panel beater go attach am or probably later model years with 4 cylinder were fitted with 3rd row from factory am not certain.

As for making the 187hp to 270hp not possible even if you add supercharger and turbocharger.
