giles14:Before you proceed with another overflogged paranoid comment, kindly point out where I said or inferred that the SE is insignificant?... Also try and stick with the topic. The topic says SE was excluded from the 4 listed infrastructural projects, my point is simple, it is a lie and a divisive report to incite people like yourself to sadness and discontent. By the way, besides Lagos (a former FCT) and Abuja (current FCT), can you please point out the places in nigeria with federal presence? |
Keballl:Prove yourself honorable by pointing out where I defended the arrest of Chinakwe?... If you cant, then its a pity, no further comments. |
blues20:Well, maybe that is just my opinion; these are old projects which have been in the books for years, I think they benefit all and not necessarily any particular zone(s). In my opinion, there are other good reasons to complain regarding the FG's neglect of the SE zone for ages, but this very case of these 4 projects, I think the complaints are needless since these are national projects that benefit all. Just like I said, this is just my opinion. |
BankeSmalls:I was only painting a picture of an independent, progressive people. That the Igbos don't need the FG to survive doesn't mean the FG should abandon the SE. But with regards to these 4 projects listed, I don't see any big deal warranting this outcry. If we get to 2017 and the FG still doesn't do something about the Onitsha owerri road for instance, then that should be a genuine reason for threads like this, not these mambilla dam and rail projects. |
BankeSmalls:The real question is, how exactly is the SE excluded from these 4 projects?... and which zones exactly are specifically captured in the planned projects?.. because all I see here are national projects not specific to any place. Is it the mambilla dam which will supply 3050mw into the national grid?... must the hydro dam be situated in my village before I know I have been fairly treated?... For the record I can't even have a hydro dam in my village. Then we have the Lagos to Kano rail (crosses SW, NC and NW), and Calabar to Lagos rail (crosses SS, SE, SW). Okay the argument may be that it crosses only one SE city of Aba. C'mon, lets be honest with ourselves, is it really everything we have to cry about? |
blues20:It don't matter what people say about you, I don't give a damn what people say or think about me. I know who I am, Igbos are a great people and Igbos don't even need the government to survive and prosper. What I do not understand however is the recent continuous lamentations and continuous wailings of a lot of Igbos especially since 2015. It belittles the Igbo nation and it smacks of inferiority complex. Take a look at this thread for instance and lets focus on it, I have been asking, how exactly do these 4 projects exclude the SE?.... Is it really everything we have to cry about? |
blues20:There are 4 infrastructural projects there listed; - Lagos to Kano Rail - Calabar to Lagos Rail - Abuja FCT city rail - Mambilla hydro power dam Lagos to kano railway goes through the SW, NC and NW. The Calabar to Lagos railway goes through the SS, SE (Aba) and SW. The Mambilla dam is to supply 3050mw of electricity to the whole of Nigeria. These projects are clearly not region or zone specific, they are national projects. If we were talking of building universities, airports, roads, etc, then we could argue about projects being shared across zones or not. But man, just take a deep look at those 4 projects, if we must be deeply honest with ourselves, if we must really leave sentiments aside and if we must put pre-programmed prejudices aside, what exactly is really wrong with the FG completing these projects? TruthisGOD:Read what I wrote above, what exactly is the injustice in these projects?... Is it really everything we must complain about? |
omenka:It doesn't matter whether you show the plebs these evidence, their opinion is already moulded. Sit back and watch as they would ignore your post like a plague as they continue their national duties below. |
MyParadise:What exactly did you understand from what you read that made you sad?... Lagos to Kano rail goes through the SW to NC to NW. The Calabar to Lagos rail goes through the SS to SE to SS to SW. The Mambilla dam is to supply power (3050mw) to the national grid which benefits all, must it be located in the SE before we agree that the project is fair to all?... Which of those projects listed specifically belongs to a particular zone and how exactly is the SE omitted from these projects?... So far not a single person complaining on this thread has been able to answer this question. Your opinion was obviously moulded by the title of the report, a title which was crafted by someone with a motive, a motive to make you feel sad and dejected, but people should always learn to read deeply. Can you point out one project in the list which benefits a particular zone and also point out one project in the list which doesn't benefit the SE? |
Sirlovings:Obviously this one did not read the original report (he read only the title and comments), he did not read what I wrote or did not comprehend a thing I wrote. He's just stuck in the typical retrogressive paranoid mentality of 'FG is marginalising my place.' Sir, I have not a single iota of hate in my heart for anyone, I only have lots of common and rational sense and more. I have also learnt to put meaningless sentiments aside when judging issues because I know these sentiments don't help nobody but only keeps one in perpetual bondage. I asked a simple question, if the FG completes the 35 years old Mambilla hydro power dam project and injects 3050mw of electricity into the national grid, will it benefit only the people of Taraba state seeing that the project is located in the Mambilla mountains of Taraba?... Must a project of such nature be located in your village before you accept it is a good project and not unfair?... Secondly, as the topic says the SE was excluded from all projects, don't you think this is just a sensational title, A LIE also, which is meant to arouse a feeling of resentment and sadness in people like you?.... There wer 4 main infrastructural projects listed; the Lagos to Kano rail, the Lagos to Calabar rail (which crosses the SE), the Mambilla dam and the Abuja city rail, kindly tell me which of these projects is specific to any particular zone of tribe and kindly tell me which of these projects isn't beneficial to the SE? Finally, almost than half of the total money was planned for Agricultural support, education and health support, budget support and Eurobonds. Kindly tell me how you came to the conclusion that these projects exclude the SE?... Can't you just see the point that the author is sensationally trying to deceive you and make you feel bad?... |
kcnwaigbo:It's quite funny how non-niger deltans have become the official spokespersons of the Niger delta since 2015 making some meaningless childish statements. The last time I checked, Dangote would buy the oil which he would refine in his private refinery, whether he buys it from Nigeria (NNPC) or he buys it from Bunkerers in the Niger delta or he buys it from Ghana or Angola or from Ondo or from Lagos or from the larger international market, the fact is that the oil would still be sold to Dangote somehow, and it would be sold at the prevailing global prices or even less. Even if the nation is restructured today and the ND gains 100% control of its oil, the oil would not be drunk, it would be sold, and Dangote would be a simple buyer. So I'm wondering what exactly is your point mister? |
Sealeddeal:Like I said earlier, the definition of an Igbo man mustn't be a someone with a display of needless victim mentality, endless wailing or some pointless arguments as you claim. You aren't more Igbo than I am so kindly keep your senseless opinion of my origins to yourself. The projects listed mainly benefit Nigerians as a whole, and we mustn't sectionalise everything before we know we're making some progress in this country. Enough of this nonsense! |
MadamExcellency:All I got is common sense and lots more wisdom. I should be asking you what you got in you, cos it's definitely not morals. I ask again, the Mambilla dam has been on the drawing board since 1981, if it is finally executed and it adds 3050mw to the national grid, kindly explain to me how that does not benefit the entire Nigeria including the SE? What reverse case under GEJ are you talking about?... The Lagos to Calabar rail goes through the SW, SS and it passes the SE city of Aba. What 'reverse' case are you talking about exactly?.. What do you mean by economic distribution plan?.... Probably, the money meant for Mambilla dam should be shared and used for mushroom sized projects in every state of the federation and that probably is your moral definition of 'proper economic distribution?'.. Madam or Oga or whatever you are, please park your divisive self in one corner. ![]() |
Sealeddeal:You aren't more Igbo than me, the only thing that separates us is the presence of common sense. There has been a rail modernisation masterplan in existence all along which includes the Lagos-Calabar railway. There has also been the mambilla hydro dam project on the drawing board since 1981. All I care about is that we have improved power supply in Nigeria, actualising the mambilla project is a very welcomed development and I can't be bothered if this very important project is given priority. I am not foolish enough to be only concerned about sectional projects or the location of power projects |
AustineE1:The question actually is, 'how exactly is the SE excluded from those projects?' I'm yet to see anyone explain or substantiate that claim. But it seems no one is interested in whether the claim makes sense or not, a lot of people are just happy to swallow the baseless claim and wail as if wailing puts food on their tables. |
NnaaGuy:Of course he has nothing else to say because he knows the wailings over the proposed projects are needless, useless and silly. That's why he has no further words after seeing it from another angle. |
MadamExcellency:From all indications, you are the one that is very lost here. The thread I responded to talks about how the FG government plans to borrow $29.9 billion for projects and how the SE is totally omitted from all the planned projects. This claim is a demonic lie peddled by devils to just further pitch the SE against Nigeria, against the FG, against Buhari and against APC. The idea is to make even unconcerned south easterners to also hat the government. For crying out loud, why must you have to use lies and propaganda to promote your silly tribal politics?... Of all the projects listed so far to be executed from the loan, kindly point out one single one which doesnt benefit also south easterners?... Is it the Mambilla dam project which would inject 3050mw into the national grid or is it the Calabar-PH rail which even goes through Aba and connects an industrial city of Aba to the 2 main seaports in the region (Calabar and Onne)?... Even the Abuja city rail project, the last time I checked, a large percentage of Abuja residents and landlords and businessmen are Igbos, so how exactly does this project not benefit Igbos? Then a large chunk of this project is also meant for education support, agric support, health support and budget support, how exactly did some of you divisive souls come to this ridiculously divisive conclusion that the SE is omitted from these developments? |
MadamExcellency:I created this thread with one question on my mind, 'is it every thing we have to wail about?'.... How exactly is the SE excluded from these projects? |
BankeSmalls:What exactly has happened?... that the FG decides to borrow money to build a 3050mw hydro power dam which has been in the planning stage since 1981 and which has the capacity to almost double Nigeria's power generating capacity?... ANd then some divisive characters decide to incite people by claiming this hydro power plant isn't in a particular section of the country?... What exactly is wrong with our people?... Is it everything we must wail about? If our power supply problems is fixed in Nigeria today, do you know the powerful knock on effect this would have on the industrial cities of Aba and Nnewi for example?.. Why does it have to be a problem where the electricity comes from?.. Why can't we just be objective with our criticisms? |
sainty2k3:I think I would just go to bed with this your statement of hard fact. Wailers will always wail and if wailers don't wail, who will? |
This thread is in response to the thread below which state the south-east zone was totally excluded from all planned project to be financed by the $29.96 billion foreign loan: https://www.nairaland.com/3434857/federal-government-leaves-out-south After reading through the report in the thread above and digesting the contents (including comments), some questions have been going through my mind. Below is an extract from the report: Infrastructural Projects ($18.3 billion)A very quick look through the list above shows that the projects are purely projects that benefit Nigeria as a whole, not any particular section of the country. I may be wrong on this assumption and would be glad if someone can prove me wrong. If the all important 3050mw Mambilla Hydro Dam project in Taraba state is completed, it would single-handedly almost double Nigeria's power generation capacity and to the best of my understanding, the 3050mw produced will not be distributed only in the north (would be nice if someone can tell me I am wrong on this assumption). Secondly, one begins to wonder whether the all important Calabar to Lagos Rail would not also be used by Nigerians of south eastern origins. This very rail connects the Calabar Seaport and the Onne Seaport in Port-Harcourt, and the last time I checked, the rail goes through the industrial city of Aba and connects Aba to the 2 most important Port cities in the south. Reading through the comments on that thread, I never knew Aba had been erased from the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria (I would be glad again if someone tells me my knowledge of geography is outdated). Taking a look the other items on the list from the Eurobond to the Budget support, the Education/health/Agriculture support funds, I still wonder how it was concluded that these interventions funds would not be beneficial to the common man from the south-east. In summary, could it just be that some divisive persons have chosen to deliberately distort information to deceive hordes of gullible persons and promote their political ideologies? cc: Uduak2019, Clinton9000, DickDastardly, SamuelAnyawu, mrvitalis, izombie, Keneking etc |
Infrastructural Projects ($18.3 billion) - Mambilla Hydro Electric Power Project ($4.8 billion) - Lagos to Calabar Coastal Railway Project: Calabar to Port-Harcourt Segment ($3.5 billion) - Lagos-Kano Railway Project: Lagos to Ibadan Segment ($1.3 billion) - Lagos-Kano Railway Project: Kano to Kaduna Segment ($1.1 billion) - Abuja Mass Transit Rail Project Phase 2 ($1.6 billion) Balance of $11 billion Breakdown - Eurobond ($4.5 billion), - Federal Government Budget Support ($3.5 billion) - Social Support for Education and Health ($2.2 billion) - Agriculture ($1.2 billion) - Economic Management and Statistics ($200 million). Another needless thread to wail endlessly; the slavery is all in the mind and many have taken to wailing as hobby. A very quick look through the list shows the projects are purely projects that benefit Nigeria as a whole, but to some, every single thing must be sectionalised for it to make sense to them. One begins to wonder whether the 3000mw of electricity that would be produced from the all important Mambilla dam project will be distributed only in Taraba state. One also begins to wonder whether the all important Calabar to Lagos Rail would not also be used by Nigerians of south eastern origins. Meanwhile this rail connects the Calabar Seaport and the Onne Seaport in Port-Harcourt and the rail goes through the industrial city of Aba; I never knew Aba had been erased from the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Or maybe, when it isn't convenient for wailing purposes, Aba can be regarded as South-South. Anyway, if wailers don't wail, who will?.. Nonsense! |
DesChyko:What FG wrong are we talking about exactly?... Lagos state is building a seaport to boost Lagos' economy, but you blame FG for not building one in the SS/SE? Are there no leaders in the SS/SE?... Why does the leadership vacuum in the SS/SE always have to be blamed on the FG?... Early 90's, I know the multitude of companies that existed in Warri paying millions in tax and employing millions directly and indirectly, but today 95% of those companies have moved away to PH and mainly Lagos all due to the indiscretions and criminality of some lazy youths and the stupidity of those who should have known better to stop those youths but rather chose to encourage, glorify and defend their criminality. Just recently even the almighty Shell left Warri, but instead of identifying or acknowledging the real issue, people choose to believe and dwell in nonsense theories about how the FG is responsible for the unfriendly business atmosphere in the Niger Delta. Meanwhile it's never too late to remedy the problem; Niger delta states still receive the highest allocations, there's really nothing stopping SS state governments from establishing world class seaports even if it means pulling resources together. But will importers use the new seaports with the self-inflicted security situation in the zone?... That's a question for the gods. |
I just hope some extemist twerp don't go attacking her family or attacking her whenever she visits her home. Congrats to her. |
Instead of young people to face their studies, or their trade, or their jobs or their businesses and find how they can develop themselves, their families and the community, they keep deceiving themselves because their beloved candidate lost an election to someone they hate. Everyone these days is now an enemy and co-conspirator to these poor souls; congrats to Mark Zuck on his new found title! The other day some of them claimed Vladimir Putin and Israel was in support of their delusion, that Putin would drop a 'Satan' nuke in Nigeria to destroy the zoo. Others claimed they had battle ready armoured tanks and air gunships in the armoury oiled and ready to engage the zoo and anyone who stands on the way of the delusion. Another ridiculous one I saw was that Trump would help them achieve their delusion, hence they officially have adopted Trump as their sole candidate in the US elections. My God! Prior to 2015, I never believed such gullibility and delusion could exist amongst the largely educated population of southern Nigeria. |
God don pick up that family call through Linda... |
This thread = A congregation of dull people flexing their ignorance joyfully.... ![]() @Op it's actually $1trillion dollars that your father retrieved, why are you and your friends still lamenting and wailing like you don't have other hobbies? mrvitalis:Bros Vita, I remember you advising me at some point not to expend precious energy responding to mumu comments and mumu threads. You're obviously breaking your own rules. |

Nigeria, does anything ever work in this country? ![]() |
JUHABACH:Lol.. Oh yeah, it just has to be blamed on buhari isnt it?... Are you really sure the brutality of our untrained animalistic armed forces got worse or could it just be there's now so much more noise about it for 2 reasons? 1. People get to hear more and react more to these hitherto unreported atrocities today because information now flows more freely. 2. People get to make much more noise today about these age-long problems for purely political reasons; oh yes, people hate Buhari so much hence they accuse him of even problems that clearly precede him. Today, a policeman slaps an okada man or accidentally discharges bullets on a bus driver for n20 bribe, pmb haters and sworn enemies jump online and put the blame on him as though this is the first time we've heard of police brutality. In fact when such tragedy happens in the SE or SS axis, certain people of a particular movement/sect begin to spread hate propaganda 'Buhari and his Hausa-Fulani-Yoruba police are killing Biafrans', this pathetic comment is made even when the culprit officers are of southern origin. There are a lot of people today who can swear Fulani herdsmen never killed anyone prior to buhari becoming president. But fact remains that the killings were rarely reported before and are reported loudly today purely for politics' sake (after all, the hated president is fulani). If you doubt me on this, search for any Benue, Nasarawa or Plateau or southern Kaduna friend of yours and ask him/her what their people have been enduring in the last 2 decades. Here's a little extract from Human Rights Watch in 2014 giving the stats of herdsmen atrocities between 2010 and 2014... 3000 souls, but obviously you never heard of this till 2015 because a fulani man became president. Human Rights Watch in December said clashes in the nation's religiously mixed central region had killed 3,000 people since 2010, adding that Nigerian authorities had largely ignored the violence, an accusation they denied.http://www.reuters.com/article/us-nigeria-violence-idUSBREA360HT20140407 Finally, have these problems gotten worse today?... I totally agree with you, yes indeed! they have gotten worse, but we mustn't make it seem like they started today. And the reason for this deterioration is simple, 'when you dont treat a cancer on time, it festers and gets worse.' |
TheRealestGuy:Lord have mercy!... How can a human be this pathetically dull and he doesn't even know it?.... So because Russia, Azerbaijan, Venezuela etc don't have militants bombing their oil and gas facilities but they also suffer economic problems, so therefore, Nigeria losing more than 40% of it's oil production (to militancy) is not and cannot be a major contributing factor to our recession? So because Wall Street Journal reports that reduction in oil price is the main cause of recession, you cannot use that thing you have in your skull to figure out that the bombing of oil facilities in Nigeria which has consequently reduced Nigeria's oil export by more than 40% ADDITIONALLY WORSENS Nigeria's economic problem?.... And this is the sort of fellow who's been calling someone a ZOMBIE like he even has a clue what a ZOMBIE really means. Lord have mercy! |
