BeardedMeat:You have clearly proved me right by your comment. The point I was making is simple, these guys committed the same and even worse atrocities under OBJ, GEJ and even Yaradua who happens to also be from the same place as Buhari. But the entire uproar now as exemplified in this thread is all about a hatred for buhari, making it look like this sad events are happening because buhari is president; it stinks of politics and as long as this is the case, as long as a genuine problem is treated with political gloves, the real problem will never be solved. |
Isn't this general knowledge? .... Even a simple google map search or even a mere wikipedia search confirms the massive size of sambisa cutting accross several states. What vindication is Omokri really talking about?SleekMallam:Can you please dig out any of the threads where anyone disputed the massive size of sambisa? |
noblezone:Bro, I share in your fears and disgust for the effrontery and brutal tactics of the fulani invaders. I totally concur that the south should be very wary and watchful else we would be wiped out completely one day in their violent religious campaigns. There is no doubt that we in the south shouldnt have ever been in the same country with these marauders whose only contribution to the table is violence, ethnic cleansing for land grab and generally pulling the south backward. However, even in the light of the above, I only have one problem with this your present campaign. The fact that these fulani activities have been happening for ages but we never got this present level of outspoken campaign against them makes it look like your angst is also (but maybe not completely) being fuelled by political sentiments and discontent. These fulani guys committed a lot of evil in plateau during Yaradua's time, I remember clearly some of their dastardly activities in Benue as far back as 2009. The hausas have also fought and killed yorubas in Lagos and also murdered innocent igbos in the north for ages, but it all seems like you have only woken up to this menace only because Buhari won the election. I may be wrong but this is exactly how it looks and its exactly how I see it. There have always been some die-hard Biafarn supporters since day 1 such as the massob guys and even ipob which was formed a long time ago but the big question is, how much support did they get from people like you?.... In the past (under OBJ, Yaradua and even GEJ), several massob guys have been arrested, detained and some even killed by the police (Ezu river) but the truth is that nobody really cared about these people not until buhari won an election and instantly, the followers of these hitherto disregarded organisations soared by 100,000%. What I'm trying to say in this my long epistle is that this your campaign reeks of political sentiments; I may be wrong but your present emotions appear hypocritically fuelled by political indicators. But that is not to say the dangers of the fulani invasion is not true. |
OKorowanta:And then he was hated instantly. The way a cousin of mine's love for Rochas changed to hate overnight after he joined APC was shocking and ridiculous. |
What da Bleep is this thread even all about? .... Easter comes up early this year and friday and monday are public holidays. Afterwards, schools close for 2nd term on the 8th of April. How is this supposed to be news? ![]() |
Adaure4ever:He joined the movement that kicked GEJ out, remember? |
Even a professor? These sore losers exhaustively exploited this senseless religious divide tactics to prolong the tenure of the ineffectual clueless one beyond 2015 so they can continue their mindless lootocracy. Their plans failed woefully but not after they succeeded in plunging Nigeria into an irreversible ethno-religiously divided shit-hole. Long after elections, these charlatans are still preaching the religious card, even a Professor? |
porka:I have long downloaded and read the report and it is filled with political gibberish which negates common sense. 20,500km or roads built indeed, but probably the roads are on Mars cos no one in Nigeria (except maybe yourself) seems to witness these good roads. A road reconstruction project is awarded and little or nothing is paid to the contractors; project is still less than 5% completion (before abandonment) yet it would be celebrated by persons like yourself as an achievement of our dubious leaders. Sometimes I marvel at how the black man could be so cruel to himself. Meanwhile roads like Onitsha-Enugu and PH-Enugu roads are being celebrated as being fixed. |
porka:Very laughable defence/analysis. Total length of Nigerian highways is 34,340.90km and GEJ fixed 20,500km to very good standards, I hail you! Meanwhile you can't point out to me the roads in the entire SS and SE that were fixed to this international standards. All the major roads I have always known since birth to be bad are still in a sorry state, and now you blame it on me for not being a traveller to see GEJ's giant strides. I hail you again! |
porka:(Alvan Ikoku College of Education) + GEJ Magic (painting of signboard) = (Alvan Ikoku University of Education) Hallelluia! ![]() Meanwhile, Buhari Paid about N407bn in Nov/Dec 2015 to fuel importers as subsidy arrears being owed them by GEJ since 2014. Remember, the delay in clearing these owed arrears led to the fuel scarcity in November last year. And since its payment, there's been no need to pay subsidies any more cos of the low oil prices. |
porka:Wonderful! I never knew Jonathan was such a miracle worker, from 4500km of fair roads in 2011 to 25,000km of very good roads in 2015. Such a miracle worker for these roads to be built probably on the moon, cos whenever I look around me, all the major bad roads I use in the SE and SS and SW are still as horrible as ever before. From the PH-Owerri road to the PH-Enugu road to the Onitsha-Enugu road to the East-West road to even the Benin-Sagamu road (save for the most horrible stretch close to Ore which has now been fixed, the rest of that road is still a shit-hole jangolova ride). Wonderful I say, wonderful!... Maybe the 25000 roads were built only in the north, cos I haven't gone beyond Abuja since 2009. obailala:If most of the roads you and I use frequently are still like this, abeg tell us where these 25,000km of roads are biko? |
porka:Coming around from where to where?.. Which reality? |
Nothing we no go see for this nairaland ![]() This Yoruba vs Igbo dickk measurement has been taken to a ridiculous extent; and the perpetrators of this act aren't even children. |
TippyTop:Lol... If GEJ is the candidate contesting head-on against Buhari again in 2019, the whooping of GEJ will be legendary; take that to the bank! |
@Noblezone, The cloth/map looks like the shape of Nigeria. Apparently this is the symbolic ground breaking ceremony to Islamize Nigeria. A warning to all southern Christians, RUN RUN RUN!!! cos they are now coming for you. Next time, every southerner and Christian must endeavour to vote a southern Christian irrespective of how ineffectual the candidate is. A word is enough for the wise! ![]() But seriously, this delusion is beginning to approach mental case. ![]() |
ticker:Party aside and in all honesty, you have made some good points, but you also spewed some ignorance too (no offence): 1. Jonathan increased power to 5000mw, but the real question is, how much did he actually add to the value he met after spending over $10bn?... If Buhari adds 10mw today and Nigeria attains 5010mw, that will be the highest power generated in history, but is that an achievement that should be celebrated (especially when you consider the amount spent)? Lastly, was there an improvement in your daily supply? (answer honestly) 2. GEJ did not build the most federal roads and Fashola never made that baseless statement. If you are Nigerian, then you should be smart enough not to swallow any rubbish report churned out by dubious blogs. 3. GEJ commissioned many new federal varsities, TRUE!... but changing the name written on the signboard from 'federal polytechnic' to 'federal university,' commissioning it and then celebrating that you have created a NEW university, that doesn't really seem like a stellar achievement to any discerning mind. 4. GEJ did not 'make' Nigeria largest economy in Africa, this ignorance isn't worthy of an educated person. 5. No fuel scarcity throughout his reign, Hallelluia!.. But the question smart people should ask is, at what cost to Nigeria was this fuel supplied?... N2.13trillion blown up in 2011 alone to ensure that there was no scarcity. Good result though, but achieved through a very flawed process which resulted in huge damage to the nation's reserves. This explains why Nigeria earned its highest income in this period but instead of having savings, our reserves fell helplessly. Not a wonderful achievement if you and I must be honest. 6. Reduced ghost workers by 50%?... Someone asked a valid question, "if we dont know how many ghost workers are in Nigeria, how come you know 50% were reduced?" I would have preferred you mentioned the exact number of ghost workers for the sake of comparison because virtually all administrations as well as I can remember have discovered and removed ghost workers. |
plaetton:Virtually everything which you celebrate as GEJ's achivements where the germinated seeds of OBJ's administration, inclusive of the telecommunications industry explosion which happens to be what actually pushed Nigeria to the no. 1 spot as the largest economy in Africa. That the rebase of the economy was done during GEJ's era and that we 'realised' we were the largest economy during GEJ's time, that doesn't mean it was GEJ who did this in 1-2 years of his administration. Be also reminded that Nigeria maintained a GDP growth rate of between 6-7% in 2014 and was adjudged the 3rd fastest growing economy in the world. But you might be surprised to know that the Ota man met a growth rate of just over 2% in 1999 and under him, it grew at a point to as high as 8-9% (highest ever) and then averaged at between 6-7%; GEJ only maintained what he met (but eventually crashed it to the 1999 value of below 3% as at handover). Then talking about savings, OBJ met total savings of roughly $5.4bn and handed over savings of up to $60bn to his successor (even though oil sold for $38 average during his time). Roughly all the wild expenses and squandermania under GEJ by both states and FG were from monies saved by OBJ. As for corruption, OBJ's government was bloody corrupt and was adjudged 'at the time' to be the most corrupt; you dont need a soothsayer to tell you however that that record has since been beaten. I am patiently waiting for the seeds of GEJ's own administration to germinate in future as you suggest. If for anything, I already know some of the seeds of GEJ's excellent handling of the economy being a nation with depleted reserves, massive debts, a GDP growth rate of 2.35% and a most divided nation along ethnic/religious lines. |
delonz:The Nigerian youth will become leaders when they 'grow up' and 'take over' leadership. For the last few decades, Nigerian youths have been suckling and waiting for the older generation to 'hand over' leadership on a platter, but that's not the way it works anywhere in the world. |

Nigeria now Islamized! run run run run!!! ![]() |
OZAOEKPE:IF YOU PDP GUYS WERE WISE, YOU SHOULD HAVE FIELDED MARK INSTEAD OF THE OTUOKEAN IN 2015. ANY OTHER CANDIDATE BESIDES GEJ WOULD HAVE LED PDP TO VICTORY IN 2015. |
This Rivers election sef! Even common House of Assembly elections causing all these commotion? Only God knows what would have happened if it was governorship re-run, it would have been genocide. |
Soulz22:It is very common practice all over the world for journalists to use a random file photo to convey a story when they don't have live pictures of an event. Except it was explicitly said that the picture was a picture of the event, your comment doesn't follow. |
Ebeleboh kposaah! |

But why is Nigeria even like this?... Is it that none of our 'big businessmen' can float a massive retail chain like shoprite?... The way we celebrate shoprite, sometimes I find it embarrassing. |
