This is just telling us what we already know.... PDP was a curse on Nigeria from the pit of hell. 16 years and over $25 billion spent on power but they couldn't add up to 3000mw to the generation capacity they met in 1999. Brazil generates 12,000mw with $12billion China built the world's largest hydro dam of 22,500mw with $26billion But our lovely Nigeria spends over $25billion but couldnt add up to 3000mw. And some humans were asking these vampires to continue ruling us claiming they were God sent?... Only God will judge these people |

menix: If we need France why is DH telling us that they have rooted BH out... When a job is done, it has to be done wholistically, else we may continue to have isolated cases of stray terrorists detonating bombs randomly at civilian locations like we heard of at the IDP camp last week. Except of course that does not bother you but if does, then you will understand that we just transitted into the hardest phase of the war. All bokoharam camps may have been destroyed like the DHQ says but the war is far from over as long as we still have lose canons with IEDs roaming our streets. Even the almighty US and co were never able to conclude this phase of the war in iraq and Afghanistan. But God will help us! |

Why do Igbos hate Buhari?... If you ask me, na who I go ask?
The real question is, why do Igbos love jonathan unconditionally?.... cos I think its the unconditional love they have for jonathan and the frustration that Jonathan was challenged and kicked out by Buhari, that is exactly what fuels the rabid hate for Buhari and anything he represents.
But at the end, its all an irrational hate. Politics is a game, there must be a winner and a loser, Buhari lost 3 times and won the fourth time, i have no idea why my brothers will not just let this 2015 GEJ vs PMB episode pass and lets see if the nation can tap into any good that can come from Buhari. We need to let sleeping dogs lie. |
Politics › Re: President Buhari's Appointments By Age & Gender by obailala(m): 11:44pm On Sep 14, 2015 |
GodsMercy1: Saw this on Facebook and wish to share here too
Looking beyond president Buhari's northern appointment brouhaha, I would like to highlight two demographics that Buhari is not fair to, the Youth and Women.
As someone that works with facts and not sentiments, I decided to break down the appointments based on age of the 30 important appointments he has made so far.
70 - 80 years = 11 60 - 70 years = 12 50 - 60 years = 6 40 - 50 years = 1 30 - 40 years = 0 20 - 30 years = 0
President Buhari's appointments by Gender Male: 29 Female: 1
Out of the over 30 appointments our president has made so far, only one (1) is below 52. Only one (1) is female.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation is 77 years old. This have shown that this administration is purely a gerontocracy.
I would be looking forward to the average age of the ministers that would be announced So far, PMB has mainly appointed people he's really close to; he has only appointed his 'kitchen cabinet' made up of people he likely grew up with within his age grade. However, I wonder why no one ever talks about the appointment of the NNPC GEDs when they talk of PMB's appointments. And finally, you failed to mention the yound lad appointed as the presidential photographer (Bayo Omoboriowo); I think he's 28 |

THis is a bitter pill to swallow, but it is a necessity if a major loophole of siphoning government funds must be plugged. We can't keep expecting things to change for the better if we continue to live without regards for simple laws.
Unfortunately, there are some smaller banks whose only life blood is the funds they hold from some goverrnment departments and agencies. WIth this new move, some smaller banks might just be closing shop pretty soon. |

Buhari had made it clear from the start that he will not be disposed to appointing people with corruption cases into his cabinet. Contrary to your assumptions, if Buhari does not appoint Amaechi or the others, then he has not BETRAYED anyone. Rather, PMB would have brilliantly passed the hard test of sincerity and integrity. Enough of all these silly blame game. We survived a civil war and with £20 for millions lost we were able to rebuild. Not to talk of useless political appointments that will not change the lives of igbos but enrich the pocket of cleptomaniac politicians. The point which I dont understand is why Igbos keep complaining openly about this exclusion from appointments and attracting unnecessary ridicule. No doubt, Igbos dont need an appointment from any government to survive or excel as the most successful group in Nigeria, but the way we keep attacking the present government and lamenting publicly (even more than the Ijaws) does not speak well of us at all. It totally invalidates the argument that we don't care about appointments and that is very sad. |

OperationIgrigi: **grins** It is because of dunderheads like you that tribalism will never die. Just peruse the trash you put up there;
1.) You accused the Igbos of abusing yorubas after the election. When the world knows, that it was the yorubas who accused the Igbos of not voting ethnically, when GEJ though an easterner wasn't even an Igbo man. You wanted the Igbos to vote against a fellow Easterner, so that you Fulani, hausas and yorubas can continually use that as a tool to brainwash others Ijaws, urhobo, itshekiri that Igbos hated them. I'm sure you would have been the first to open threads on NL with the titles "Why the Igbos vote against GEJ" and "Igbos hate Ijaws"> We denied you that luxury, and you are not comfortable with that. Nigeria has survived on divide-and-rule lies. You want every Nigerian to unite in your farce "One Nigeria" but an Igbo man uniting with other easterners makes you uncomfortable.
2.) Your drunk Oba threatened the lives of Easterners because of an election, and you dishonorably hold brief for him, while you stylishly refused to even condemn him, but condemned Kunle Afolayan, who was only following your drunk ex-policeman Oba's footstep. Like the Emir in fulani-led Arewa, an Oba is supreme in yorubalan, We Easterners are republican and all men are equal here. You see why we are fundamentally distinct and irreconcilable? Prepare for your Odua-Arewa country, that's the MOST REALISTIC THING to do now. Better late than never. Goodluck. Very very typical of a tribally depraved mind... FYI, not every human you come across is so petty as to descend into the pit of tribal bigotry like you do. I am personally irritated by the senseless and needless way igbos and yorubas fight foolishly everyday and being from the SE myself, I would rather call my own people to order instead of indulging myself in the madness. |

koife: THIS IS SAD. Earlier this week, Boko haram struck at the IDP camp in Yola, Adamawa state, killing so many Nigerians - mostly children. I am overwhelmed with sadness, just as I am livid with rage at the hypocrisy of APC members in relation to their CHANGED stance on the constant boko haram attacks in the country. Under Jonathan, every bomb blast used to be accompanied by statements from the APC and its members condemning the government and never the bombers. We were told to look up to the Jonathan for protection. But suddenly that has CHANGED! APC members are now asking us to look up to Allah! Not Buhari. No longer the federal government. Just 'Allah'! I am just coming off the facebook page of the El rufai. In announcing the bomb blast, he is praying that 'Allah' would fetch boko haram out! No mention of Buhari! No mention of the Nigerian government! I remember vividly that this same El rufai used to lash out against Jonathan after any such attack. He used to urge us to look up to Jonathan for protection, not 'Allah' . Once, after school children were killed in Yobe by boko haram, El rufai said, emphatically, that their blood would be on Jonathan's head. But today, school children were killed in Adamawa and El rufai is not saying that their blood will be on Buhari's head. Instead, he is talking about Allah, as if Allah's name was on the ballot paper. As if Allah succeeded Jonathan as president of Nigeria. Jonathan allowed it to fester... Jonathan sat back and watched while the rag-tag group grew into a monster. Buhari is only trying to clear the gigantic mess created by Jonathan's nonchallance and incompetence, so it would be silly to blame the cleaner instead of the one who allowed the milk to spill. Very simple logic for anyone who has even half of a brain. |

Buhari as a matter of urgency must begin work asap or he will begin to lose d populace confidence. @Op, by saying "for allowing ourselves to be decieved", I suppose yo mean we should be sorry for ourselves for allowing ourselves to be deceived by jonathan right?
You start a thousand projects without paying contractors, you squander all the reserves of the nation, you snap pictures of contractors mobilising to site and use it for campaign to deceive gullible plebs, you do not have any money budgetted for these projects in the 2015 budget (because you knew the projects were just to scam voters anyway) and then after losing the election, you blame the new leadership for not continuing with the projects.
And finally, some ignoramuses are blaming the new government for this, even though adequate funds were not paid to the contractors for these jobs?... A question for you guys, do you have an idea of how much GEJ even budgetted for capital projects for the ministry of works for 2015?... I'm sure you have no idea and you dont even care to know, but you are happy to showcase your ignorance here in public.
Just for your info, going by the budget prepared for 2015, GEJ had no plans to fund those projects in 2015; there's even no money for them.
