coolzeal:I'm sorry this has everything to do with the love and inexplicable passion for mediocrity. Our leaders are just content with poorly executed projects that is why we have this issue. ...and yeah, this is not just a TA Orji or Elechi matter, almost all other Nigerian governors are guilty of this same mess. |
..But seriously, shouldn't Nigeria be doing a massive parade of masquerades and cultural dances instead of these Caribbean parties? #JustAsking ![]() |
anonimi:The project was frustrated by OBJ and the PDP central government. Now we have an APC central government, hence the project is being revisited. I hope my English is simple enough for you to comprehend? |
Alishachris:Your write-up should have been a good one if you did not include this falsehood. This issue has been thrashed and denied severally, the statement of $1 = N1 is only the figment of the imagination of one Vanguard journalist as he seems to be the only one who heard this out of several thousands (including TV cameras) present at the stadium. There are countless bogus promises made by GMB and the APC during the campaigns, why don't you just stick to the actual promises made instead of insisting on the rumoured/conjured promises?... It only demeans your entire message. I was already enjoying what you wrote until I got to that line. You cannot force words into the mouth of a man and then turn around to hold him to account for |
coolzeal:I'm only talking about the road markings and this has nothing to do with annual allocation. It cost absolutely nothing to finish the job properly if only we can rise above our collective passion for mediocrity. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2400612_umuafaiagbamaroadumuahia750x0_jpegc452117263460ccc51a7566993fb49d4 Someone completes a beautiful road like this but refuses to buy a bucket of white paint to demarcate the lanes and you say it's because he has less annual allocations?... I disagree with you; this is just mediocrity and it's very common in Nigeria. Its just a line of paint! |

Something I have noticed about most Nigerian city roads, the roads are never marked and I wish someone could explain why ![]() Is it just that we so passionately love mediocrity or what is the reason exactly?... For crying out loud, after spending hundreds of millions to build a new road, why is it so difficult to spend a few thousands to mark the roads properly and give the city a nice and meaningful look? www.nairaland.com/attachments/2400612_umuafaiagbamaroadumuahia750x0_jpegc452117263460ccc51a7566993fb49d4 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2400620_umuahiacity1_jpeg92362b551327320da8a95020f3df1122 Today we keep hailing the roads in Akwa-Ibom but in my opinion, there's just one thing that differentiates the roads in Uyo from other city roads in Nigeria, Uyo roads are marked. 18. “We are going to buy Guns and give good Pensions to our Brave Soldiers, so that when they are killed, their families will not suffer”Chaii ![]() The saddest thing about these is that even with all these, some supposedly sane people still think there's nothing wrong with all these and will attack anyone who says GEJ isn't presidential material. ![]() |
How did Jim Nwobodo stole?... Money not enough to buy Peugeot but GMB jailed him |
David Mark is likely to retain his presidency seat from the way things are going... |
Elueme:Manual accreditation was allowed by INEC for the presidential election but was not allowed in the governorship elections. How is this very basic explanation too complex for some people to understand? No one is talking about the presidential election here, any fraud in that election cannot be traced since card readers were not used. |
Sometimes I wonder where people like Bruce were when people like Jonathan were made to represent Bayelsa, the south-south and Nigeria at large. ![]() |
sebali:I listened to his speech and I was impressed. He explained that the problem of Nigeria has never been about the north vs south or about Christian vs Muslim or PDP vs APC. He made it clear that the problem has always been about good vs bad people. If only Nigerians would begin to see things this way, maybe and maybe, we may be able to salvage ourselves from the choke hold of our evil leaders. ..and to answer your question,he's in the PDP. |
Watch out!... Some not-so-smart persons would soon start throwing invectives at Okonjo thinking they are doing GEJ a favour (even at their own expense) |
Why is there a wrong picture of the Nigerian presidential jet and not a single person has pointed this out?
|
CyberWolf:Lol... now I understand exactly where all these your confusion is coming from. ![]() Just to correct you, the APC has NOT zoned the speakership to any zone yet. |
CyberWolf:Lol... and all i am saying is that it is too early for you to come to that conclusion especially since the apc hasnt endorsed anyone for the speakership yet. Okay lets assume the apc endorses Dogara for speaker next week, how would the pdp reps voting for a man endorsed by apc HQ cause a crack in apc?... This is all I've been asking you since yesterday. |
CyberWolf:This discussion has stretched too long and it seems you have forgotten how it started or you dont even have an idea of what I was talking about before you quoted me. ![]() |
CyberWolf:The point is that apc hasnt zoned the speakership yet to anybody so you guys are just putting the cart in front of the horse... What if apc finally zones it to the NE? So how does pdp reps voting for Dogara punish APC? |
CyberWolf:Obviously you did not know the main reason I asked my question. My question was in response to a TANoid who was rejoicing that PDP Reps would punish APC by voting for Dogara... and then I asked, "is Dogara not also apc?"... How is that suppose to be punishmet to APC? |
CyberWolf:Sorry i'm not sleeping.. My question is in order. |
From this guy's part of the story, it is clear the duo have never met but must have only communicated online and on telephone. Seems like the Yul guy has just been scamming a depressed gay man in far away Canada... Yul, why evils? ![]() |
janus05:Is Dogar not also APC? |
I can just imagine a new block buster nollywood movie with Onyeka Onwenu, Patience Ozokwor and a surprise appearance by the one and only, Mama Peace a.k.a Dame Patience ![]() |
Gbaja in my opinion has been the most active Rep on the house in the past years. He has always been the voice of the opposition in the house and there's never any issue being discussed in which he doesnt have a contribution. Gbaja has also been the minority leader and head of the opposition in the house for 8 years. It would really be an anomaly if when his party finally becomes the majority, the former minority leader would then be pushed aside and someone else from the blues made a speaker. ![]() |
deletrue:Stealing a gold watch at OPEC meeting?... For real? ![]() These hardcore TANoids, I would have thought the Oshogbo Igbo you smoked should have cleared by now... wetin happen? |
idupaul:Hahahaha... And that's exactly what makes Baba a very very smart man... Unlike some other leaders we know who would have denied flat on international TV that the video was fake even after the lady in question has confessed. GEJ absolutely lacked the intellectual capacity to be a good leader and even to be a crook |
If he can do the job properly, then so be it. Enough of these forty something and fifty something year olds who just go into government and expand their accounts. There are only 2 categories of leaders in Nigerian history; the good and the bad. Age of our leaders has never been our problem in Nigeria, neither has the ethnicity nor the religion of our leaders been our problem. The only leadership problem we've always had is that we keep having bad kleptomaniacs (s)elected or appointed into top leadership positions. Until we collectively identify that this is our problem and not age or religion or ethnicity, we will never move forward as a nation. By the way, I hear Prof West is the only Nigerian past petroleum minister without an oil block. |
tochukwuifeduba:Arrant Rubbish! What has age got to do with anything?... The number 1 and biggest problem we have in Africa today is the diabolic greed and corruption of our leaders who don't mind if the nation roasts as long as they make their money. After all it was a very old man that transformed Singapore from a third world slum to a first world country. We need to understand that there have been only 2 categories of leaders in Nigeria from 1960 till date; the good and the bad. Age, ethnicity or religion has got absolutely nothing to do with. We have been unlucky to have too many bad people ruling us for so long and that is the reason for our backwardness. Until we collectively agree and identify this true cause of our problems, we can never move forward. The second biggest problem we have today in Africa (Nigeria specifically) is the cluelessness of the masses (especially the youths) to properly diagnose what the problem really is. We keep misdiagnosing the problem to be the northerners or the south-westerners or the Easterners or the Niger-Deltans or the colonial masters (that left 55 years ago) etc. We also find it comfortable to blame one religion or the other or we blame the military or we blame the age of our leaders for our backwardness. Whatever the case, all we do is blame, blame and blame yet we always fail to blame the right people. |
kennes10:Far far far from it. I'm not trying to lead any tribal war, rather I'm actually denouncing the tribal wars we witness here everyday as being a manifestation of foolishness and myopia. I was only pointing out the way in which we watch our leaders commit blunders but instead of cautioning or criticising them, we resort to blaming our neighbours for all our problems even when the real source of the problem stares us in the face. Now we are celebrating Nigerians being elected leaders in other nations but down here in our homes, we cant even tolerate our closest neighbours that speak the same language as we do. |
Meanwhile somewhere in a jungle nation in west Africa, a frog eyed cretin like governor who was just recently (s)elected to the senate ordered the sack of all non-indigenes from his state's civil service. The sacked workers included his fellow tribesmen from neighbouring states and even people married to indigenes of his state. Even the long serving civil servants who started working before the state was split into two were sacked and asked to go to their new state's civil service. And at the end of the day, some 'smart' fellow comes to tell me the problem is Yoruba or Awusa or Igbo or Christian or Muslim etc. ![]() |
apeoyemojo:SaharaReporters focuses on the government in power hence their searchlight has mainly been on the PDP and on JOnathan (being the president). There are too many stories of filth to be reported on our rulers and you dont expect SR to spend their resources chasing people like Tinubu or Buhari or Timipre who are not in power. But that being said, if you were not blinded by sentiments and emotions, you would have known that SaharaReporters have still thrown out several corruption stories on all those individuals you mentioned. For God's sake, how can any sane person even accuse SR of not exposing the corruption of Tinubu?... Are you blind?... or are you just emotionally talking for talking sake?... For you to even make such a statement, you do not deserve a response... I only searched the word 'tinubu' on the SR website and got uncountable results... http://saharareporters.com/2013/10/29/bola-tinubu-family-paralyzes-lagos-economic-activity http://saharareporters.com/2010/06/08/other-face-lagos-land-scams-lagos-involving-gov-fashola-and-ex-gov-bola-tinubu http://saharareporters.com/2014/06/05/how-saraki-tinubu-odili-others-rob-their-states-blind-through-obnoxious-pension-laws http://saharareporters.com/2010/09/24/ribadu-aids-and-abets-tinubu-enslave-lagos http://saharareporters.com/2007/10/28/bola-tinubu%E2%80%99s-140-million-v-mobile-deal-exposed-pointblanknewscom http://saharareporters.com/2012/03/25/lagos-state-cough-n1-billion-fund-tinubus-birthday-celebration http://saharareporters.com/2007/02/10/tinubu-pays-own-company-1-billion-naira-monthly-obanikoro-0 http://saharareporters.com/2009/02/18/bola-tinubus-heroin-tainted-assets-forfeiture-judgement http://saharareporters.com/2014/10/23/more-photos-n33billion-ekiti-government-house-reflect-staggering-opulence http://saharareporters.com/2009/09/09/stupid-governor-sylvas-opulence-bayelsas-poverty http://saharareporters.com/2011/08/25/sanusi%E2%80%99s-financial-gerrymandering http://saharareporters.com/2013/06/07/documentation-sanusiyaro-sex-scandal http://saharareporters.com/2010/11/21/transcript-governor-fashola-spars-saharareporters-london http://saharareporters.com/2010/01/27/fashola-mega-corruption-true-face-lagos-part-1 http://saharareporters.com/2010/11/20/governor-fashola-spars-saharareporters-london-%E2%80%93-denies-tinubu%E2%80%99s-financial-windfall http://saharareporters.com/2010/11/21/fashola-vs-sahara-reporters-%E2%80%93-19th-november-seminar-london-school-economics http://saharareporters.com/2011/03/06/governor-fashola-lied Can you now kindly do your research before blabbing what you don't know in public next time. Finally, SR has been around for over 9 years (even before most of you learnt how to use the internet) and they have churned out strangely revealing stories of which 90% turned out to be true, hence their reputation. Now I have always said that any GEJ or PDP sympathiser who thinks SR is owned by APC (formed 2 years) to attack PDP, that person is absolutely free to form his/her own SR which will reveal the filth in APC and I think that would be beneficial to the Nigerian people (if and only if they can churn out facts). |
