Sibe007:
The Artist is a friend from way back, I would have prefered he did Something Better or More internationally acceptable and less deprave, I only wonder what message such music would give out to the younger ones, The Future Leaders,
Must every song teach something? Whatever happened to a song or movie being just for entertainment purposes?

It is in this same bid to always convey a moral lesson that most of our home movies today end up being worthless tragedies. . . every producer wants his movie to 'teach something'

We should be emphasizing on proper censorship and not Banning! Banning! Banning! cos if a child is not already morally depraved, he/she wouldn't know the meaning of 'Put something'

This our hypocritical nature is the reason why Nigeria is where it is today.

Why should it be banned?? what's wrong with the song?

How am I not sure the poster is the artist himself or the artist's friend just trying to promote his song here on nairaland?

The name 'University of Benin' should be left as it is. All these unnecessary renaming of great institutions should stop. Something else should be named after him but certainly not our University.

I never knew these politicians and 'big men' updated their facebook pages profiles themselves. I always thought someone else did it; maybe an assistant (sycophant) or something. Does GEJ actually update his own profile himself?

Every human has shortcomings. Some of our lawmakers cant speak english at all; this guy speaks english/latin/greek/slang/pidgin all muddled up together but at the end, he still falls into the category of lawmakers that cant communicate fluently.

The most important thing is that he makes a lot of sense, though in a senseless and clownish way but we must appreciate the sense he makes. grin

Politics › Obahiagbon Speaks Again (video) by obailala(op): 10:34pm On Nov 24, 2010
For all those who hate this man, search yourselves properly. You will find out that you hate him ONLY because of his idiolect.

If you set his "big, unusual and incomprehensible grammar" aside, Hon Patrick Obahiagbon, the Igodo migodo of Benin kingdom (and in fact, Nigeria) still remains one of our best lawmakers who speaks for the common Nigerians.

The bags of rice in question were not in any way close to 2million. Na wa for these our journalists oh!,  What i saw at the venue couldn't have been up to ten thousand bags.

Secondly, it was a very dumb idea to share 50kg bags of rice; 25kg bags would have been much better cos some of the beneficiaries must have fainted while carrying the 50kg bags on their heads.

NIGERIA!,  USELESS LEGAL SYSTEM, USELESS NATION

Animals like Lucky Igbinedion looted and defrauded over 5 million citizens of Edo state of billions of naira when he was governor. What he got from efcc and our useless legal system was just a fine of 3.5million which we heard was even paid by one of his junior drivers.

How much has this woman possibly "conspired" to defraud this Miss Ogonna Ebubedike to warrant 10 yrs in prison without an option of fine?

The issue about the 2011 election that bothers me isn't GJ. We have just about 4 months to the 2011 elections, who are the presidential candidates? whom amongst the aspirants so far has a good CV?

IBB?
ATIKU?
GUSAU?
SHEKARAU?
OKOTIE?
GEJ?

If these are the only aspirants so far, then Nigeria is in deep sh.it

MY QUESTION IS: IF JONATHAN DECIDES TO YIELD THE PRESIDENCY TO A NORTHERNER, WOULD SUCH A PERSON REFUSE TO CONTEST THE 2015 ELECTIONS GIVEN THAT THE NORTH HAD EXHAUSTED ITS TURN BY THEN?
The answer is NO.
Zoning died the day Yaradua died. It's either shoved aside by the south in 2011 or by the north in 2015. The southerners have been the fools since 1960. Will they still remain fools?

What has he done to deserve the award?
He overlooked his physical disability and strived hard to become somebody. Somebody that has been able to put smiles on the faces of many Nigerians through his comic movies. Most other individuals in the same conditions would have rather relied on public sympathy and resorted to begging.

I challenge all those asking why those midgets were honoured to name one person on that list that deserves the award more. How many other awardees have been able to put a smile on anyone besides their immediate family members?

Also, it is worth noting that the protesting women are directing their protests at the Federal Government, NOT Chevron.

Funny how you  people could turn a demand directed at the Federal Government  (who in fact SHOULD be the ones to provide power to their citizens) to upbraiding Chevron for not doing what the Government should have done.
We all know it's the duty of the Federal Government but it's no news that our FG is a failure. How on earth can these women possibly direct their protests to an unserious, insensitive and inept FG? who is even the FG if not some pot-bellied evil men in Abuja that think only about their pockets?

In a struggle like this, u can't blame the women for directing their grievances to chevron cos it's only chevron they see. . FG is invisible to them. We know these companies pay huge taxes to the govt and they even pay special levies to the same govt for the development of host communities but what happens to the money at the end of the day?. .i believe ur guess should be as good as mine. Even their chiefs, representatives, youth leaders etc are a part of the conspiracy

I think it will be somewhat humanitarian if these companies can give a little bit more to their immediate society knowing pretty well the kind of Govt we have in Nigeria. I personally don't think it would cost the company so much to make their host communities comfortable.

How is that 'Good'?
People are disrupting efforts to improve power to the whole nation and you think it's good, next thing you'll turn around and blame the Federal Govt for failure to provide power.

These people will NEVER face their state and local government. Instead they'll troop out to retard progress while demanding for gratification.

These gas lines do a lot to provide an alternative route for gas that would otherwise be flared. these same people would come out complaining of gas flaring and Acid rain.
The truth is that it would cost Chevron absolutely nothing to meet the simple and justifiable demands of these host communities. The real problem stems out of the diabolic nature of the FG and SG who have wrongly influenced these multinationals to be insensitive to the plights of these communities.

The power plants in those facilities produce more than ten times the required power capacity for their systems and they still flare excess gas away so I wonder why they can't just power their host communities whose power demands are insignificant.

@poster even though this question have been asked severally, I still want u to do a deep soul search for the Umpteenth  time why u wanna adopt and if u are ready to still love her/him unconditionally when your kids eventually starts coming in by God's grace.

Cos I watched a movie few days ago where couples adopted and later started maltreating the girl. they were very poor and later became so wealthy since the girl was adopted. it was so evident that they attributed thier success to the girl. Later the 'mother' wanted the same girl dead.

This is only a film but it happens in real life too. I was terrified when I watched it. Please be sure u are mentally, emotionally, physically etc ready for this adoption.
I think i've watched that same movie and the "mother" was none other than the evil "Patience Ozokwor"  grin grin grin
Business › Re: GTB Bank And Their Checking Balance Rule by obailala(m): 5:56pm On Jul 16, 2010
I find this story difficult to believe but if it actually happened, i think the poster should have seen some other staff of the bank cos its clear that the customer care individual she saw woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Secondly, if its a new policy, then this policy exists only in that particular branch of GTb where the poster visited cos i checked my balance yesterday at GTb with a customer care staff even though i was with my ATM card.

Its understandable why they are doing this but if u aren't comfortable and they insist on their "new policy," there are 23 other good banks out there. Just ask the customer care staff for a plain sheet of paper to draft a letter to close ur account and highlight clearly ur reasons. . .BTW, just pray they don't ask u to use ur master naira card or the net to close the account  grin grin grin

Politics › MILITANTS BEAT UP TIMI ALAIBE, Whereabouts Still Unknown!!! by obailala(op): 11:19pm On Jul 02, 2010
Presidential Adviser on Niger Delta and former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Corporation, NDDC, Mr. Timi Alaibe was today beaten up in Calabar the cross River State capital by militants who were protesting what they termed the deceit in the Federal government's Amnesty program.

Sources informed Pointblanknews.com that while addressing militants in Calabar as part of the second phase pf the Amnesty program, angry militants pounced on Alaibe and gave him the beating of his life. His security operatives including policemen who were said to have been over powered by the angry militants took to their heels grin grin, leaving behind the former NDDC boss. He was said to have been dragged to an unknown destination by the militants.

Another source however hinted pointblanknews.com that it took the intervention of armed soldiers to locate Alaibe but his where about is still unknown as at press time.

Three SUV's belonging to Alaibe and his entourage were vandalized during the mayhem.
However, when Pointblanknews.com contacted Mr. Alaibe on phone he was said to be in a meeting and cannot take calls.
http://pointblanknews.com/News/os3576.html

We need more of this!!
Its high time these militants channeled their wrath on these thieves who call themselves our leaders cos they are the real enemies of the niger delta.

Kabikala:
The governors that need to learn a lesson in decorum from Amaechi would be Gbenga Daniel (Ogun) and Theodore Orji (Imo).
Gbenga Daniel's security men had brutalized a man for having his seat close to the governor's in a plane and refusing to stand up from his alloted seat.
Theodore Orji is even worse. His security men beat up a woman in the presence of her young daughter and in full glare of passers by. He then took it a notch higher some months later by abducting a young Nigerian citizen for daring to criticize him, detaining him, and personally administering lashes of the cane on his bare back. And you know what? Nothing came out of it.
Thumbs up to Gov Rotimi Amaechi. Another breed like Fashola. Just that two out of 36 makes me uncomfortable.
It's IKEDI OHAKIM not Theodore
