Someone should put up a better pic of that chick. I met her once and she's really really pretty and much younger than she looks in this picture. I think she should even be around 23.
Politics › Re: Buhari Should Take Over The Control Of Efcc Operations by obailala(m): 11:31am On Jun 21, 2011
Big B1:
This is one topic current and future politicians hate to come across!

If we want Nigeria to be part of the developed countries in a very short period and if Goodluck Jonathan is smart, EFCC will be handed over to Buhari with ABSOLUTELY A COMPLETE AUTHORITY to take control of the organization daily activities or operations.

This is the only gift Jonathan can ever give Nigerians that have elected him to lead this nation.

If this move takes place, with confidence I can assure Nigerians that things will come together before the end of this year.

Yes, Buhari may be too big for this position, but with wisdom and strict conditions I think the Major General will be excited to take the position.
Without any questions, I see nobody else holding this position that has the capabilities to get things done effectively and efficiently better than Buhari.

But I doubt it if our president, Goodluck Jonathan has enough wisdom or the courage to pull thru such an incredible move.

Just close your eyes and think about the combination of EFCC and Buhari: what exactly do you think will happen to this country in Less than 6 months?

This is the sort of thing u get when the government is too efficient and the country is so peaceful. The demons trapped in men always wants some freedom to act but when there is no opportunity to misbehave, the animal in man siezes the slightest albeit meaningless opportunity. huh huh
Politics › Re: Children Of The Poor Can’t Break Even, Says Soludo by obailala(m): 10:33am On Jun 16, 2011
Pukkah:
You are right on point Soludo! But the people too are their own enemies.  Instead of putting their government under pressure and ask searching questions, they regurgitate cliches like 'God put him there', 'God will judge', 'He's God's choice' , 'he's my kinsman', 'when you get there, remember me oh', 'it's his time', 'if na me sef I go chop pass dat one', etc
^^This is the exact problem with Nigeria

Dis Guy:
but that's because they have been denied education to they cant see past the cliches these criminals push down their throat,
Education should be made compulsory and Free, many poeple are against this even in the basic form as announced by some governor recently
saying free education wont make the students serious- in many countries in Europe education is free. The govt should increase taxes so they can pay for it
@Dis Guy,
I totally disagree with your statement. Majority of the people described above are well educated. We see lots of them here on NL

Now u see y I always say that the Igbos r the main architect of their own problems.

That is one area I think Yorubas are better !
Willing to defend you own even though he is a monumental failure.

Post pictures of Awka as a model city or Onitsha or Nnewi if shame go let u ?

This is a state that has suffered everything from teachers/lecturers strikes, doctors strikes, judiciary strikes and civil service strikes.
Based on my assessment, Obi should not be allowed to run a town union.
Mr Dumbhead, this development has nothiing to do with "the Igbos"

It's just a normal endorsement by a few handsomely bribed sycophants who claim to represent traders. This sort of story isn't new in Nigerian politics and I wonder why anyone should be surprised or disturbed by such news.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Pastor Chris An Entertainer? by obailala(m): 10:51am On Jun 12, 2011
Whether Pastor Chris is an entertainer like dbanj or a fraudster or whatever people might want to call him, the most important thing is that his ministry has saved a lot of souls and changed a lot of lives. Whether we like it or not, these men of God are truly anointed by God but the fact remains that they are still 'men' so they can still be swayed into mistakes by things of the world. Judgment should be left for God so we should be careful the way we despise MOG.

"Despise not my anointed"

In the Bible, David had several opportunities to kill Saul whom was after his life but he refrained cos he didnt want to touch God's anointed. Interesting point from this story was that at these times, Saul had even lost the anointing and the anointing was actually on David but he still refrained.

Jesus Christ told the desciples in Matt23:3, "Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do."

My pastor always reminds us that pastors are human and can also make mistakes but rather than laugh at them or ridicule them whenever they go wrong, we should try as much as possible to pray for them cos as pastors, they are usually under attack and are prone to daily temptations by the evil one.

Pastors cannot always be right so as Xtians, we should endeavour to read our Bibles to get directions instead of always swallowing whatever 'Pastor' says.
Romance › Re: Now Who Should Sacrifice Here And What Is Sacrifice Anyway by obailala(m): 9:38am On Jun 12, 2011
upendo 98:
My friend, they married and a year later the lady got this dream job in a foreign country.Still in Africa though not far.
Its a contract job of 5 years and its a full package meaning lots of allowances including travelling back to her country once a month. After all its Africa.
Note; she has been working very hard and studying to get a great  job and her husband supported her all through.Then finally the job came knocking and the husband on hearing its a foreign country went berserk;

a) He claims the marriage is still young and the wife must sacrifice her job for its sake
b) He fears he may land into temptation if left alone since, I mean the honeymoon isnt yet over kind of thing u know.

The wife on the other hand says;

a) If he supported me and loves me then he should sacrifice too and allow me to go
b) She insists that since she has been working hard to climb the ladder including praying and fasting, she cant let this chance pass by cz she will live to regret worse still she believes God opened the door and the hubby is just insensitive.

Now note this: They husband doesnt earn much but this job could be their dream come true.
At the time of being told the story they were not in talking terms and not sharing the bed/room together. Its gotten soo bad its a break or make situation.

Question now: who should sacrifice here and whey?
The man's fears are very logical. If the lady leaves for that job, that mariage is damned, PERIOD!

Contrary to what she thinks, God did not open that door but rather the devil did to destroy her young marriage. If she truly believes in God, then she should learn to be a bit more patient for God's own blessings cos he does not bless with conditions such as these that can threaten marriages.

On the other hand, if there are provisions for the spouse to accompany the lady and the man can humble himself to that level (which is advisable), then that would be a much more ideal situation.

Romance › Re: SOS, Urgent; I Am Dying - What Do I Do? by obailala(m): 6:51am On Jun 11, 2011
You shouldn't be mad at her that she hesitated telling u in the first instance; who wouldnt be scared of saying such a thing? dont u ever disregard ur girl cos of this cos over 50% of the young girls u see out there have been down the same road. u should rather be happy that she told you herself cos most stories like this are heard from a third party. In my opinion she sounds quite honest although u should have in mind that if she told u she's done it once, then it's possible she's actually done it like twice or thrice.

The solution is simple, u both should see a doctor and confirm everything is in place.

Of course every PDP looter and all other thieving politicians would be extremely happy that Buhari lost. BUhari's victory would have shaken the cabal of looters to

their bones and it wouldn't be business as usual for them anymore.

Babangida Aliyu is just being too honestly outspoken and has just aired the mind of his folks.

Politics › Re: Nigerian Masses Are As Corrupt As Nigerian Politicians (evidence) by obailala(m): 1:39pm On May 26, 2011
MyJoe:
I agree with this. When people on this forum and elsewhere call the Westerners, particularly the British and the Americans, "hypocritical" for holding their leaders to higher moral standards than the masses, a la Clinton/Lewinsky and DSK, I shake my head. Leaders ought to be better than the led. "If you are not better than us, you have no business leading us," this is what the British and the Americans seem to say when they hound a public figure for a "mere" extra-marital affair. Extend that to accepting of gifts by public officials, and from there move on to inflation of contracts and outright embezzlement.

For Nigeria to change, it has to start from the stop. Elite consensus. Someone at the top has to stand up and say enough is enough. Once accountability is enthroned at Aso Rock and the various state houses the people will take note and change will come gradually. By the way, op's assertion that Nigerians are as corrupt as their leaders apply everywhere. There is an old saying that everyone wants less corruption or a chance to participate in it.
Word

Bawss1:
Many people do not want to take responsibility for their situations that’s why they usually blame their leaders. It’s much easier that way. This is not to say that our leaders are without faults when it comes to corruption. It’s just that when we blame our leaders the attention moves from us to the leaders, that way we delude ourselves that we are OK then can continue in our indolence and corruption. If we all did the right things within our own spheres of influence then corrupt leaders will scarcely emerge in our mists.
of course the leaders are responsible whether u like it or not. For a chain smoker/womanizing father, it would take only the grace of God for the child not to follow suit. Even if a bad person becomes a leader and changes his ways in leadership, u will be surprised at the positive effect that would have on the followers. U dont transform a society by transforming those at the bottom of the triangle; it's the other way round.
Politics › Re: Nigerian Masses Are As Corrupt As Nigerian Politicians (evidence) by obailala(m): 1:05pm On May 26, 2011
I disagree with the topic cos certain things have to be made clear. Every human being has corrupt tendencies, be it the Americans, British or whoever. The only reason those other countries seem better is cos they have laid down penalties for corruption unlike in Nigeria where anything goes (anything goes cos our leaders are bad!!!).

Nigerians are dynamic people; we adjust to the environment we find ourselves. If we can be fortunate to have upright leaders today, everyone will automatically become upright.

I always hear comments like "even a toddler in Nigeria thinks corrupt" but that is only possible because our leaders are corrupt. The most effective impact would be an impact on the person(s) at the top of the triangle.

A close source close to a news agency revealed that deliberation is under way to arm corpers being posted to any northern state with a pistol short gun each. The gun will be registered with name of the corper and training given by the NYSC authority on usage.

The source said that this will be made known to the public and implemented after the deliberation.

I think this is a good idea since police cannot ensure adequate security. Or what do you think house?
