2good:Very very valid point. Studying in the UK (dont know of US) is hell on earth when compared to what i experienced in Nigeria. I dont know much of undergrads but as a postgraduate student, i didnt bargain for what i am goin through now. Some people say they have better lecturers abroad who actually teach but that's a big fat lie; over 80% of what i learn daily is 'self study'. Only difference is that when the lecturers ask u to 'read up', the books or materials are readily available. What I have to read in one semester of my Msc is way more than what i read in 3 full sessions in Nigeria. The only reason why people pass better here is because, when one thinks of the millions spent to come here, he/she has no other option than to |
9ijaMan:Posters are defaced everywhere in the world and so does that makes it right? Take note, I used the word offense and not crime. Assuming you own a new business (be it a church, school, whatever) and you paste posters allover town for public sensitization. Then just a day after you paste posters, someone (probably a competitor) pays some small street kids to go allover town and rip off your posters. Do you really think there is nothing the law says about such an act? GEJ team might be wrong for targeting those ripping his posters alone but I hate it when people just come out and say thrash that "there is nothing wrong in defacing posters" |
I might not know the law but my common sense tells me it is an offense to deface anyone's campaign poster. This has nothing to do with GEJ |
@PapaBrowne Your analysis is flawless. As much as I detest what GEJ is doing today as president and even with the growing popularity of BB, the truth remains that GEJ will win the elections even without rigging. Never in the history of Nigeria have we had an incumbent that is so popular amongst the populace. I cant explain the reason for the love but it must be based on the nature of his ascension to power. All the flaws and shortcomings of GEJ which killed my support for him are seen only by Nigerians with access to the internet news and aproko media (SaharaReporters, nairaland, etc). A typical okada man on the street still maintains the same level of love they had for GEJ over a year ago when he was being intimidated by Turai Plc and it is these same set of people that will make up a majority of the voters. Trust me, GEJ will win even without rigging but we all know rigging cannot be ruled out in our (s)elections. |
For years i had been wanting to go for a test but last december, i was challenged by the boldness of a randy friend who voluntarily went in and actually tested negative. It took 3 torturous weeks of thinking b4 i summoned the courage to secretly go for mine. The result was to be ready in 4 days and i was told that if it was +ve, i would receive a call. Those 4 days were of course the worst 4 days in my life; i couldnt sleep or eat. On the fourth day, my blood pressure reached an all time high and my heart would skip a beat whenever my phone rang. Unfortunately, my useless phone just kept on ringing that day and the callers could never understand why i was so hostile in my response. At a point, i received a call from an unknown number which happened to be a landline and that was it, I almost took a shi.t on myself but thank God, some i.diot just got a wrong number. After that, I had to switch off my phone for the rest of the day just to postpone the likely doomsday. The next morning, an unprecedented air of courage just came my way and i picked up my phone and called for the result. After putting me on hold for about 5 mins, the lady says, "congrats, u are -ve." I wasn't satisfied so i went to the clinic to get a hard copy of my result which i actually framed ![]() It's been 5weeks now and since then, I've been living happily ever after without punanii . . . To God be the glory!! |
SapeleGuy:I just pray so. I also pray we would have 'sensible' legislators as u rightly mentioned who will stop collecting huge bribes from oil companies to kill the bill. |
SapeleGuy:The bill has not been passed |
Two disturbing facts about this PIB development are 1. The Bill will never be passed; Not with our present crop of leaders (especially legislators) who are presently receiving billions in bribes from the multinationals to sit on the bill. If not for this, how else can we explain the prooooooolonged passage of the bill for years since it was first introduced? 2. If the bill sees the light of the day, it will still remain business as usual; *What is the definition of oil community? *If the money comes, who will receive the cash? the same old corrupt Niger-Delta leaders? *What happened to NDDC funds, ministry of Niger-Delta funds (wonder if this still exists), DESOPADEC funds, ISOPADEC etc will still happen again to PIB funds |
Please I need someone to educate me cos I dont understand what's goin on here. Did INEC or Jega ever announce or promise anybody that DDC machines were to be used for elections?? I thought the DDC machines where to be used to create a voters register? . .That's what we were told so where is this allegation of dumping ddc machine coming from? What has Jega done wrong again by following our constitution to warrant all these lousy insults from nairalanders? If e-voting is to be used, shouldnt it be the national assembly's duty to make the recommendation first b4 we insult INEC? Nigerians we really need to wake up from this slumber. . Insulting people carelessly without getting our facts right will not get the nation anywhere. |
I wonder why people always mistake illiteracy or sheer dumbness for "inability to speak english". Rita's main problem is very very far from her english skills infact she speaks better than most peeps. The real issue is dat she's just got nothing upstairs. |
Exactly what i'm saying. Lots of people just love Ogboru (for no clear reason) and his large supporter base especially in Warri and environs deceives him. The man hardly campaigns and the only time we hear his name or see him on tv is 2 weeks to general elections (that's why i said he is no politician). Is this the kind of opposition we need to topple the almighty pdp?? One thing his supporters are unaware of is that he is only known in Warri/Uvwie and his home town. Ask a random market woman in asaba/ogwashiuku/patani etc and u will find out they 've not heard the name Ogboru B4. Fact is that, it is these people in these local areas that actually vote. If i live in the uvwie axis of the state for instance, i would never step out of my house to vote on election day simply for the fear of my head being blown away but the old woman in one remote village could easily be paid a measly N100 and she would vote in pdp. The simple homework Mr Great has to do is to focus some of his attention on these villages or else, he will keep sleeping in law courts and deltans will continue enduring the Uduaghan mess. |
I know too well that GEJ is just being tooooooo desperate to cling to power hence he's been involved in all sorts of horrible and unthinkable moves just to ensure he wins the selection in April; But I still cannot believe this particular piece from SR. |
Monkeyleg, The real problem is not if Uduaghan is fit to run for a second term or not but rather the question to be answered is, " Who is the opposition in Delta state? Apart from Ogboru, there is no other reasonable opposition in the state and I'm still yet to understand why people (mainly okada men in warri) love him so much. In my own opinion, 'Great' is not a politician but rather a rich businessman who is being pushed by those around him to contest in elections. |
Hmm. . . so this thing still exists in our universities ![]() |
The last time i checked, Nigerians tip a lot. Except i dont understand what type of tipping the poster is talking of. Where i live in the Uk, 'blacks' are known to be the highest tippers. Nigerians have the highest population of blacks here. |

cornoil:Just my thoughts. . . Best time for a man to move out is when he has the finances to live independent. For a lady, i think the best time is when she gets married. |
He should be calling for infrastructural development for Aba, Onitsha & Nnewi.
@EzeUche How can u possibly expect a commissioner in Lagos state to call for infrastructural development in Aba and Onitsha? Next u would call on Obama to spend US funds in developing healthcare in Kenya. Ur tribal sentiment has completely eroded ur sense of reasoning on this one. It's really sad cos except here on Nairaland, Igbos are not really known to be tribalists. |
ayusman16: guru01:You guys should explain yourselves or shut up. What exactly do you mean by copy copy?? How else do u expect them to adjust to the prevailing competition except by reducing tariffs? Why must people criticize others even when they don't have a good argument? |
And politicians in a bid to cling to their seats are saying it's to early for a state of emergency. . . maybe when a nuke is detonated, they would understand |
This is the peak of Jonathan's desperation. What's the meaning of 'Diaspora affairs' and who da hell is Bianca Ojukwu to be given such a position? Is he trying to buy S-Eastern votes with this move? GEJ just keeps disappointing Nigerians everyday. |
Guys, please take a look at this job site http://myijc.com/
[li]First of all, this is by far the WORST website design I've ever come across in my life.[/li]

[li]Secondly, these guys happen to also be the greediest and dumbest scammers I've ever seen (N5000 flat per job)[/li] . Let's give it up for the mega yield "ISHIEKWENE JOB CONSULTANCY" . . .u have no reason to remain unemployed with these guys around |
The great Igodomigodo stands out, in the National assembly for three main reasons 1. His unusual and clownish idiolect, 2. His eccentric dress code and 3. His ability to stand up to his diabolic colleagues without fear and speak the mind of Nigerians It's so dis heartening that Nigerians, especially here on nairaland base their judgment of his performance and relevance entirely on his language. Why wouldn't our nation be the way it is today when we never focus our energies properly or place our priorities right? |
frosbel:What if I have just one child, should I also say "mine are in school" as u suggest? |
"The PDP Presidential auction was over lastnite with each PDP National Delegate giving the Egunji of $7.000.USD from Aspirant GoodLuck and $5.000.USD from Aspirant Atiku. . . . . .So we are smiling to the eagle sq to vote the highest bidder Goodluck." The above quote was purportedly sent in a text message to Saharareporters by an unnamed PDP delegate. (http://saharareporters.com/news-page/pdp-presidential-primaries-abuja-live) If this is true (off course I believe it's true), then for 5000 delegates, lets do the maths:Conclusion is that Nine Billion Naira from tax payers funds entered the hands of DELEGATES between last night and today in Abuja. HOW CAN I BECOME A DELEGATE so I can smile on days like these ![]() |
@OP your reasoning is quite dumb to think that Jonathan arranged that poster himself.
So who did and why did Mr. President and his chicken-kabobs allow the banner to see the light of day?
Posters like these spring up all over the country and they are being sponsored by thousands of different groups (known and unknown). Are u suggesting that GEJ should set up a task force to run around Nigeria and rip of any of such posters?? If that is your idea, then u must be a very DUMB CRITIC. |
PDP Wins again!!! There's no need for me to stay awake again. With the figures i'm seeing for PDP so far, there's absolutely no way DPP can come close to it in the remaining LGAs. PDP has performed their magic again. May God help Delta State and indeed Nigeria. |
babapupa:This lovely story (and picture) has just turned my sour mood this evening into uncontrollable laughter. ![]() |
9ijaMan:In a bid to politicize everything, people like u bluntly refuse to reason with your brain. How on earth does the first statement translate into the second?? 1. "Preliminary analysis have shown that the explosives used in October 1 twin bombings in Abuja are similar to those that exploded in the Niger Delta, while the one that exploded at the Abacha Barracks in Abuja yesterday is similar to the ones that exploded in Jos" - GEJ 2. "President Goodluck Jonathan has blamed Friday’s bombing at the Mogadishu barracks on the Islamic Sect, Boko Haram" - Aljazeera |
