If you can, please do.

It mostly ends in tears…
Even if one avoids women all his life, he would eventually need to get married to one. Whilst you may have successfully avoided a lot of problems by keeping away, the single one you marry might end up packing all the problems you avoided into your life. grin

Only God's grace can ensure peace of mind last last.

DubaiLandLord:
What kind of Anti Aircraft Gun is in the possession of the Bandits that can threaten GMB aircraft?

I find it so hard to believe this news.

Except they have a SAM, no anti aircraft gun can take down any of the presidential jets cause of how high they do fly.
Passionate888:
They are in Katsina, what about during landing or take off? I know planes tend to descend gradually
DubaiLandLord:
Soldiers and police are always on ground. They will be monitoring every inch of land close to the Airport.

The Bandits won't just come out of no where to shoot down the president plane while it's descending or ascending
Some anti-aircraft guns have a range of over 30,000ft, which isnt far from the standard cruising altitude of a 737. You'd be surprised at what some of those monster guns can bring down.

Even if the range of the one in bandit possession isnt as much, all they need do is mount it even 50km from the airport, it could easily bring down a descending plane. Soldiers and policemen wouldnt be spread as far a 50km from the airport.

But...

What if the recording is fake? What if kopkogir (or whatever is mame is) was lying? We're too quick to believe the worst in people that's why a lot of people are not questioning this so-called voice note. Voice recordings are one of the most unreliable pieces of evidence in any case, that's why it is not admissible in any court.
The alleged source of the leaked voice note claims there's also a video. So we better be careful how we publicly doubt the voice note before someone is forced to release videos.

You're just dancing about needlessly not addressing the questions posed to you. We do not make any claim of smarts, rather we only pointed you to simple fact of Peter Obi's infraction. Instead of you to address it pointedly, you're dancing around making useless excuses and comparison.

No you accept you're defending him? What was the self-deluded position that you were not defending him. Pray tell! What integrity are you referring to when the outcome of Pandora Investigation explicitly shows Peter Obi lacks Integrity? Don't tell us stories of what Obi did or refused to do. Simply address the fact that he broke laws in the constitution and CCB codes. He wasn't the only one in the Pandora box, yet he came with watery defense. Gov. Oyetola of Osun state also came out (through his Press Secretary) to defend himself . He did not offer watery defense like Peter Obi. Oyetola stoutly stated that he had resigned the board of the company in question before assuming office as Chief of Staff to Gov. Aregbesola, something Obi cannot claim with Next International UK. That is a defense that can be scrutinized and validated. Peter Obi's defense Nextwise needs no scrutiny, it simply falls flat.
Lol... And the desperate pull-him-down syndrome approaches a more ridiculous dimension. Mr Oyetola said he resigned from the board before taking up a govt position; you believed him! Mr Obi said he resigned from the board the day he was announced governor; you say his own claim is 'watery', that he's a criminal who broke the law? how ridiculous! What's the evidence you have to prove that Obi's claim is false?

By the way, I never mentioned anywhere that I wasn't defending him. I'm definitely defending him from compulsive pull-him-down merchants like yourself, who would stop at nothing to tear him down (probably because of partisan or possibly tribal sentiments). Hate him or love him, but his integrity clearly stands out amongst his peers; there're only a few leaders in Nigeria who can match him in that regard. For a Nigerian politician and an ex-governor, that the only thing you can pin on him is an accusation that he didnt resign as a board director when he assumed office, that already says a lot about him.

You keep desperately repeating the same line that he broke the law and that he lacks integrity, but the man has come out boldly to tell you your accusations against him is watery nonsense! He claims he knows the law very well and is confident he hasn't committed any infractions; he's also boldly challenged you and your likes to take him to any court if you think he's guilty. Oga, social media judge and jury don't take anyone to jail! If all you can come up with is all these non-resignation stuff, or 'resignation by phone' like someone else put it, then you really have to try much harder to convince me that the man is a typical Nigerian politician (crook).

What his political opponent does with the information is not my problem. Did Peter Obi break the law or not? Have you been able to address the 3 infractions as submitted by the investigative journalists, which any rational human being can see are clear contravention of the constitution?

Why are you even trying to defend something that is as clear as day? Your moral compass must be that compromised that you want to hide under some excuse to defend what is clearly evidenced by facts.
NGpatriot:
..,..and because they did not capitalise on it, it means he did not break the law.

It's like saying the armed robber is not an armed robber until they are captured.

The extent that you people go to defend rubbish is nauseous and mind-boggling..
@NGPatriot and @Mapet, you guys are both laughable in your desperation here. You believe you're smarter than the entire APC machinery that toiled day and night to dig filth on him, with no success?

When governor in Anambra, the entire state assembly plotted ways to unseat him for refusing to share the cake. Eventually he was impeached for the most silly reason (creating a savings fund without consulting the state assembly). @Mapet, you really think if he didnt resign from the board of a company he's well known for, the entire state assembly wouldn't have picked on that? Funny!

You say I'm defending him? I accept it fully with my chest, YES I AM DEFENDING HIM because in terms of integrity, he stands out several miles apart from your other typical politicians (who some of you even defend blindly).

He wasnt even the only person mentioned in the Pandora papers but so far, he appears to be the only one who's come out on TV to not only boldly confirm the Pandora findings, but also detail how he hasn't broken any law. You really think the man and his lawyers are so dumb to let him go confirm those things on air if they had the slightest worry that he may have broken the law?.... You guys must really think the man is an idiot.

Politicians steal billions and are defended, but the only thing you can cling onto for Mr Obi is that "he didnt resign from the directorship of a company"? This already speaks volumes on his record.

1. it is illegal to hold a position as directorship of any company and maintain an elective, ministerial and government post - Section 6 CCB Act
2. It is not only illegal but criminal to employ secrecy to hide offshore holdings. Aside from failing to declare, you are evading taxes doing so which is clearly different from permissible tax avoidance
3. When you operate foreign accounts, simply declare and deactivate those accounts while you hold public office or get a trust to operate it and have nothing to do with it till you're out of government. The law (both the consititution and public service code of conduct) clearly states you cannot operate a foreign account
You think the man the man you accuse is such a dumbo not to know these things? He rightly told you in that interview yesterday that he followed all these laws to the letter, so why exactly is this atill an issue?... he mentioned in that interview that he resigned from the board of over 10 companies the very day he was announced governor, so why exactly are you still calling for his neck? And many of you are just shouting double taxation without knowing what it really is, or its benefits.
So in essence, you're agreeing it's more of a 'moral' issue, not necessarily a 'criminal' matter? Who in their right senses would choose to pay higher tax if they had the legal choice to pay less? Because Mr Obi chose an option which reduces his tax burden, he automatically has become the problem of Nigeria's economy?

Most young people wonder why Nigeria is in this terrible state it is, well this is one of the reasons right here.

I mean we all complain why we don't have good leaders, why our leaders keep taking us for granted with impunity ; but then we forget we are the ones who empower and encourage them to do so.

I understand the author of this article claimed he's trying to fact check the Peter Obi's alleged corruption against the law, but what he doesn't know is that he has given an easy way out for the man to wriggle himself out of this mess he presently found himself and has even encouraged more politicians like Peter Obi to do this same thing and get away with it.

Nobody accused Peter Obi of being a thief years after his tenure expired as a governor probably because he had all his flanks covered and even kept on boasting about his clean and impeccable records up till this moment that the Pandora papers actually revealed he's not as clean as he claimed to be. Now a lawyer boldly coming out to start explaining tax law just to prove that the man might have done one or two things to help himself to make some money against the "Mr integrity" picture he was selling to us all ; it just looks somehow.

Later we will all be complaining why People like Tinubu and Odili got perpetual injunction prohibing the authorities from trying them for allegations bothering on financial misappropriation if their hands are actually clean; we will complain why EFCC didn't go after Tinubu after the bullion van episode; we will complain why Orji Uzor Kalu is a free man today walking up and down Nigeria on political visits despite what he did with Abia state's funds through Slok...... What we fail to understand is that people like this author that are smart and young will always be there to offer their "professional views" and claim to be fact checking when in fact they are emboldening future politicians to even do worse Than the present.

“If my family owns something I won’t declare it. I didn’t declare anything I jointly owed with anyone.”

He said the offshore entity is the holding company for most of his assets and that the business structure he adapted was to enable him to avoid excessive taxation.

“I am sure you too will not like to pay inheritance tax if you can avoid it,” he said.

It was clear even to the deaf and blind that the northern elite cashed in on it and blamed Jonathan. It was known to them that it was a northern agenda. In the case of IPOB even IPOB themselves have denied most of the killings, including the death of Akunyili and the Owerri jail break. This is a clear False flag Operation, so let us stop throwing banters on this and face the truth. FG and Buhari know about these killings and the end game is to cause public disaffection in the east against IPOB to justify a military offensive
..and how exactly do you explain the trend of IPOb adherents celebrating the actions of UGM every time they strike? Or maybe those are also govt paid online agents making those comments and posting those videos right?

Let me borrow the post quoted below, maybe you could help answer some of these questions:

ba7man:
(1) The FG is killing policemen and the millitary at check points.

(2) The FG is killing Govt officials with their police escorts.

(3) The FG declared sit-at -home on mondays.

(4) The FG is burning police stations and setting prisoners free.

(5) The FG carries out these acts in broad daylight and Igbo IPOB folks on the streets cheer them.

(6) The FG burns a school and chase the students home.....
So in essence, you're saying the FG is responsible for all these just to make IPOB look bad right? You honestly think the FG doesnt already have enough justification to go after IPOb, hence why they're on rampage everyday now on the streets?... IPOB declared sit-at-home and then the FG pays hoodlums to go and enforce the sit at home while IPOb members cheers the hoodlums on? That's the logic you're trying to sell right?

Keep deceiving yourself until the crisis hits your family compound.

You are amazingly naive. This is a clear False Flag Operation, FG has hands wirtten all over it. This has nothing to do with IPOB this is a bogey operation designed to create a bad perception of IPOB in the south east, Once there is disaffection from the public in the east against them it will be easy to take them out using Military force(Martial Law) without any worry of international backlash based on Human rights violations.
Amazingly naive smart people from the north, not too long ago, also claimed bokoharam was a brainchild of Jonathan to destroy the north and declare a state of emergency; of course we all know how that story went.

We've all sat down and watched how the IPOb madness metamorphosed from simply insulting and attacking non-comformists online, to physically attacking people and businesses who failed to adhere to the May 31st sit-at-home (even before Kanu was rearrested). We all watched and made excuses whilst UGM attacked police stations, killing personnel and burning down buildings; the online comments and videos of IPob disciples praising, hailing and glorifying those acts are still very much visible for all to see.

Now the monster is inevitably becoming uncontrollable and instead of condemning it wholeheartedly, you've opted for the same class of wisdom brandished by the northerners few years ago (i.e. blame it on 'others').

Like I said before, "those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it". May God protect my own family members (since others have chosen to be 'too wise').

PoliticsRe: Politicians Go Into Hiding In Anambra As Gunmen Break Loose by obailala(m):
bishop4life:
Let me take you down memory lane. Hopefully, this may stimulate your thought.

During the dark years of the notorious General Sanni Abacha, a poor criminal that became a rubie under military uniform, Nigerians were beseted with so many unexplained killings of the opposition to the military junta.

Recall that at a time these murders were blamed on NADECO by the military which forced some of the NADECO activists to go under ground. Fortunately, Dr. Arthur Nwankwo one of the founding members of NADECO narrated most of these events to me before he departed to be with the Lord.

At some point people were confused and some even blamed the deaths on other politicians.

Amongst the slain were Kudirat Abiola, Chief Alfred Rewane, Mrs Suliat Adedeji, Rear Admiral Olu Omotehinwa, Admiral Tunde Elegbede, Oluwatoyin Onagoruwa, Gen. Yar Adua etc.

Fortunately, after the death of Gen. Abacha Nigerians learnt from the horrific confession of Sergeant Barnabas Rogers that Gen. Abacha was behind the killings.

If Obasanjo who came back as President in 1999 did not force Sergeant Rogers to spill the beans during the Oputa panel with a promise to protect him, Nigerians may never have known what truly happened during this period.

However, what may also interest many of you is that at the period of these killings, Gen Mohammed Buhari the current president was with Gen. Abacha at Aso Rock. The same Buhari has been defending Abacha's action till date.

According to Buhari, Gen Abacha meant well for Nigeria. In other words he murdered these people and stole billions of dollars just to keep Nigeria together.

My problem is that many of you underrated the personality of Buhari. He may not be endowed academically but he is a calculated strategist and a vicious killer. From his antecedent, killing innocent people to advance his Fulani goals is his pastime.

We are talking of a man that paid Israeli Mossad to kidnap Umaru Dikko from the United Kingdom.

... a man that supported Abacha's numerous murder of innocent Nigerians.

... a man that sent his army to murder about 1000 Shite members for stopping Buratai convoy from progressing.

... a man that sent his army to murder more than 170 unarmed IPOB members across Igboland.

... a man that invited his Fulani brothers from across West Africa to come fight for lands with their brothers inside Nigeria

How some of you can't piece the recent events together is very baffling.

The balance of motive to kill Prof Akunyili falls more on the side of Buhari than any other group because of their desperation, history, antecedent, tribal objective etc. They may have calculated that a high profile murder will pitch the people against IPOB but they are terribly in error.

Buhari and DSS are the ones behind some of the high profile murders in Igboland. He deliberately enabled state of insecurity to destabilise the region with his political stooges. Their eyes are on 2023. He's not ready to hand over or conduct peaceful election.

Did you read DSS denying the murder of Professor Akunyili? What a plonker. For an arm a nation's secret service to come out to debunk the murder of a citizens says much about the outfit and the government of the day.

If you read some of my posts in the past, I told you that this is where we are headed to. I mentioned several times that the security architecture of the North has collapsed and Buhari and his moral urchins are on a vendetta mission to destroy the Igboland through targeted attacks.

They murdered Ahmed Gulak in Imo State and pinned it on IPOB. When the killers were apprehended they refused to disclose their identity till date.

How many of you noticed that since Buhari abducted Nnamdi Kanu and stopped his radio programme that python ceased dancing in Igboland?

Can anyone explain to me why the Governors that invited the python to dance and the snake to clap in Igboland can't invite the same people to secure Igboland from murderous hoodlums? The reason is because insecurity is in line with their overall objective. They never planned to secure Igboland.

There is a reason for this and that reason is very strategic to their overall plans.

Python stopped dancing because they have moved to the next stage of their plan which is to destroy public perception of IPOB amongst Igbos and label them terrorists at global stage.

To achieve this, they are sponsoring dissents, frustrated thugs, angry Igbo job seekers, notorious politicians, cultists, Abuja contract chasers etc to work against the interest of the group.

Sadly it is an only an IGBO man that will betray his brother at the drop of a coin. I encourage you to visit history. The Fulanis don't have that trait. I concede it to them. No matter how poor an average Fulani man is he will never betray the collective pursuit of his people for money. Igbos will kill and betray the interest of their brothers for money.

Even Fulani PDP Governors prioritised Fulani interest over party interest. That's how stupid, lame and charlatanic many Igbomen are.

How many of you noticed the incidents of armed robbers who left Biafran flags in banks after robbing banks? IPOBs are also armed robbers.

These are the same mindless rogues and poor strategists that accused Saraki of sponsoring the Offa robbery.

You also noticed the chant of "No erection in Anambra State" in murder scenes. In other words, as they were killing people, they were also chanting "no erection".

Only a classical idiot will believe that IPOB is behind the killings in Igboland. However I can also concede that Igboland today is filled with classical idiots.

Everything is programmed by state actors and their local Igbo conspirators sponsored from Abuja and rogue politicians to destroy public perception of IPOB. But they will also fail.

One of the reasons why they kept Kanu back from appearing in court was to first of all instigate public opprobrium against IPOB through sponsored killings in Igboland. They will also fail.

At this stage it is important for IPOB's hierarchy to keep denying involvement in these killings as they are presently doing and stay focused to her separatist goals.

We are dealing with the worst human being and the worst killer Nigerian army ever produced. He is a man on vendetta mission, doing everything to destroy Igbo resistance to RUGA, grazing route and his numerous electoral defeats in Igboland. He knows he is a hated figure and rightly so.

Buhari and his paid Igbo muppets and buffoonic supporters will ultimately fail.

The untrained Nigerian police has also messed everything with their many bursted false parades of unknown gunmen expecially in imo. Plus hiding the identities of their alleged killers of Ahmed Gulak.

I am out.
The people committing these crimes have been doing so based on the ideology of IPOb - i.e. attacking people who disobeyed IPOb sit at home orders, murdering people with police security, attacking perceived saboteurs, burning police stations and INEC offices on the basis of IPoB's no election in SE, murdering policemen across the SE etc. The violent rhetoric of the IPOB leadership has always been obvious; sensible Igbos (and non-Igbos) warned of the dangers of such fanatical/extremist ideologies, but as usual, the mob of illiterate (and even dumb literate followers) shouted down the voices of reason. Today, things are getting out of hand and here you are, living in denial and blaming Buhari.

You claim these crimes have nothing to do with IPOB, but somehow whenever these things happen, IPOb adherents in their thousands always rolled out red carpets online, exploding in wild jubilations, hailing and glorifying the activities of unknown gunmen, all because many foolishly believed it was the enemy being attacked. Only the unwise could not see the similarities between these order of events and what happened in the north east (i.e. northerners hailing bokoharam in the incipient stages cos they thought BH was attacking their common enemy - Christians). But it was only a matter of time...

After a while, the very same idiots who hailed bokoharam turned around and started blaming GEJ (and Oritsejafor of CAN), claiming bokoharam was an agenda of GEJ's to depopulate the north. Once again, only the mentally blind will not see the similarities between those events and what's happening currently in the SE; i.e. glorifiers of IPOb violence now claiming it is Buhari, DSS, fulani herdsmen etc. that are responsible for the the 'unknown gunmen' in the SE.

Winston Churchill said and I quote "those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it". In our case we aren't even talking of far history, but rather just events in the last decade. May sense fall upon us before the crisis gets beyond control.

If he's not the defence minister, what stops the DHQ from simply mentioning the name of the person in the video?

Very soon, Buhari will be out of office, then we would start to blame another person. That road was awarded during Jonathan government and someone squandered the money.
What some of us don't know is that before a road rehabilitation or reconstruction is approved, the government go into the history of that road.
Someone need to be hold responsible for that road
That road was also awarded by OBJ, and I hear Rochas also even awarded a contract for it as well.

Words. I made similar point at the other thread.

What is happening in SE is a terrible tragedy.

I worked in there (Ebonyi, Enugu) for many years and still maintain the average Iboman smart, hardworking, calculating, and will NEVER support this ongoing madness.

Never mind the empty-headed noisemakers here.

'Is it your business'? That's all they can say. What callous barbarians. Yes that's the fitting description for such people.

You kill your kith, destroy thier livelihood, instill dreaded fear. . .all because of what??

So sad and pathetic. cry
The hardcore Ipob supporters who glorify the sit-at-home nonsense are glaringly the poor and wretched never-do-wells, who believe Biafra will automatically make them rich. These guys of course are also intellectually challenged and may never be able to comprehend the economic effect of the ongoing madness they support and enforce.
