Hydroxide:You obviously are commenting on the wrong thread. I never remotely mentioned any tribe or tribal supremacy here. I only tried to educate some of you that Lagos Island city is different from Lagos state and States are never the capital of any country at least here on earth. Can u mention any country that has a state or province as capital? Is Cairo, Nairobi, Accra, Dakar or Pretoria a state? Likewise Lagos State was never the capital of Nigeria but Lagos Island as a city. Your type must have brains made of sawdust honestly |
ajekpaks:You see, some of you think the purpose of every post is to prove a political point hence you are shaking like someone with Lassa fever. I didn't post to make a point, I posted to educate. Do you know of any country in the world that has a state or province as capital? Only cities are capitals. Is Accra a state,is Washington DC or London or Pretoria or Ottawa a state? Can't you just learn something you did t previously know and be happy? |
sapele914:I errorneously transposed 1967 with 1976 which I have now corrected. But what exactly is your arguement? That Lagos Stete and not Lagos Island was the capital of Nigeria? Do you know of any country in the world that has a province or state as capital? Is DC a state? Is Ottawa a state and is Paris or Madrid or Moscow or Canberra a state? Or is Accra a state? States are never capitals of countries, only cities are and the former capital of Nigeria was Lagos Island and not Lagos State. You shouldn't argue with this irrefutable fact |
emmanuelbrown26:Lagos Island was never part of or inside Lagos state till 1991. It was a city adjoing Lagos state Why is this so hard to sink into your brain? Washington DC is a small city adjoining Virginia and Maryland but not inside any of them. Infact Lagos Island was an administrative territory long before Lagos State was created in 1967 but the island was not part of Lagos state till the FG left for Abuja in 1991. Make una dey read and do small research na, this una ignorance is earth shaking |
Ddeliverer007:To simply red-educate and illuminate your mind. The ignorance in the land is nauseating especially cos the ignorant now occupy the bullying pulpit through social media |
izombie:Am taking pains to cure your ignorance you are still adamant. Washington DC is a small city adjoining Virginia and Maryland, not part of either state. Same way Lagos was an adjoining city to Lagos State. The simple test was for you to find out who collected PAYE for Lagos Island residents and for Ikeja residents prior to 1991. But you would never know there was a difference cos you don't even know what is PAYE and has never paid PAYE from the small shop you run. Stop celebrating your ignorance, states are never capitals of countries, only cities are. |
There is this wrong impression even held by otherwise very educated elites that Lagos State was the capital of Nigeria for so many years till 1991. That is not correct. What was capital of Nigeria was Lagos Island which even did not include Victoria Island. The mainland of today from Ikeja to Ilupeju where all vitually under the western region and only carved into Lagos State when the state was created in 1967. Perhaps to emphasize the difference between the state and the federal capital territory, Ikeja and not Lagos Island was made the capital of Lagos state. All through till 1991, the FG had jurisdiction only on the island and could only collect PAYE tax for residents there while state govt had jurisdiction over the rest of Lagos and collected the PAYE of the residents till d FCT moved to Abuja and the state govt took over jurisdiction of the entire state. Yes, federal presence on the island attracted infrastructure and development to the adjoining towns but but also created urban slums all around the state. However, know the truth, only Lagos Island was capital of Nigeria and not Lagos State. |
Afikoo:Whenever I see Kenneth Okonkwo dramatizing and trying to read poetry in making his points I usually burst into laughter. The guy is a clown and a dramatist, who is he reading poetry for? And to think Obi people see him as so great..The guy is not persuasive, he just reads poetry about impossible things Obi will do, what Obi never even told him. This same Kenneth was initially running around Jonathan team in 2014/2015, immediately Jonathan lost he ran to APC and was dramatizing around them yet he could not convince his ward in Enugu state to deliver 100 votes for APC, very nuisance value and now sensing the sentimental bandwagon among his people he has ran to Labour to continue his drama and poetry. He calls himself a lawyer, (the degree he obtained via night school, allow him defend u in court at your own peril) but we actually know he is an actor and dramatist at heart. His dramatist skills reminds me of those days of secondary school debates - panel of judges, co debaters, viewers and all those slangs. Obi half educated cheerleaders would make a hero of any villain or clown as long as he wears the Obidients cap |
Eriokanmi:So you are now so excited about Fulanis? They are no longer cows, terrorists, killer herdsmen? Obi supporters I hail una. All the former lamentations were only cos u shut yourselves out of political power cos the way u guys celebrate Fulanis and northerners since Obi started his wild goose chase has been legendary |
TalkVendors:You guys have started your lies again. It's no longer Arthur Eze donating $2b and intsalling 20k surveillance cameras or conglomerates of banks donating N10b or Obi Cubana donating how many billions. Obi supporters can lie!!!!! |
I have observed arguments that both South West and South South have tasted power, that the two zones yet to taste power are the South East and North East. The likes of Orji Uzor Kalu used that as basis to support Ahmed Lawan at APC primaries that if South East doesn't get it, then it should go to North East being the other zone yet to taste power. What about the North Central? Why is no one fighting for them, why are they not really agitating for power to come to them also? Yes, in d military era, they produced Gowon, Babangida and Abdusalam but they have never produced a democratic leader, not even VP. At least the North East have produced Tafawa Balewa as Prime Minister for six years and Atiku Abubakar as VP for eight years. The North Central should also show interest in the presidency like the North East and South East. They are not less Nigerian |
AyemafugeILAJE:c If you have angry feelings about other people supporting candidates you don't support means you have a form of Witchcraft in you. Otherwise why should you have burning stomach ulcers and chest pains over the democratic rights of others? You need an exhorcist to cast away that witchcraft in you |
Alright. What made the coup an "igbo coup". As we always hear from you and your ilks. The coup was an Ibo coup cos majority of the plotters were Ibos though the two arrowheads were Midwesterners, the beneficiaries were Ibos as JTU Aguiyi Ironsi siezed power eventually and he never punished the coupists, also only the Ibos did not have the elite of their military a d political class wiped off by the coupists and finally, the Ibos celebrated and owned the coup, an Ibo musician even waxed a song celebrating Kaduna Nzeogwu for killing the Sarduana and right in he north Ibos brandished TShirts of Nzeogwu as a hero. They were very tactless in those days!!!! |
seunmsg:You are very right, Edo is about the most toss up state in Nigeria. Edo South with the highest population would likely go Obi way with APC second and PDP third - Obi has decimated PDP votes there. Edo central that used to be iron clad PDP would also go Obi but with PDP second and APC third. Edo north would be conveniently won by APC with PDP coming second and Obi third. So the projection is slim win by Obi, followed closely APC and PDP falling to third. PDP used to win every preside trial election here, they should blame Obi for this cos while Obi split their bites, APC bites largely remain intact |
Workch:Structure means people on ground working for you independent of you telling them to or being there yourself. Structure means having party officers and officers whose responsibility is to deliver you irrespective of if they like you. Structure means fielding candidates in all the 360 or so federal constituencies and the candidates combing the interiors on your behalf. Only APC and PDP has structure, Obi does not. Let that sink in!!! |
eagleu:Many of you think in reverse mode. Tinubu's wife is a Christian and celebrate Christmas, his children are christians and celebrate Christmas, he never stopped them thus far, is it now as President they he would stop them? What is making many of u so moronic ![]() |
gloryhomemaker: |
Manofnaija:Like master like servant with fake statistics. What is the meaning of 'bullion van movement policies'? Who made the policies, CBN or EFCC. Oya send us a link to the policies let's read it, may e it said van must carry N1b. Some of u are so daft, u hear something, u don't understand it, don't know if it's a lie yet u churn it out as fact |
Joevics:Go to school many of you refused, once u are convicted, u are an ex convict whether u serve jail or u take the option of fine, except for civil cases like slander, or traffic offence or contempt of court. Okupe by his conviction and payment of fine is now an ex convict and can no longer hold public office. But Obi is free to keep him as DG oh, that's not public office but it actually tells us how shallow Obi is, he can't even do due diligence on his appointees, what a calamity, what a disaster |
Deltafirstson:What makes a man? Any man can fall, Oyedepo has displayed too much arrogance that shows that God does not speak to him. He loves mammon not God otherwise he would had been a humble priest not this bizarre arrogance, fake prophesies every year |
swaggerjack:Where is the exhibit to prosecute him? Besides ask anyone who worked in core bank operations, bullion vans can carry as low as N10m. So is it cos of N20m u wanna prosecute a politician? Do u know how much they share to their polling agents as transport and logistics and feeding for election day? U know the number of poling units in Lagos? Please rest, you have zero case |
Manofnaija:Some of you are really daft. How did you know the amount Asiwaju moved in the billion van? Could be as low as N10m or N100m but a single van never carry up to a billion or even N500m. It was election time and obviously was party money to settle party agents all over the state. Party money is not govt money hence you all got no case. So ridiculous making a case out of this, a bullion van whose content u never saw. Where is the exhibit and what's d nature of the crime u accuse him of? U can withdraw any amount from your account provided you pay the relevant charges. Besides Bullion van carries valuables not just cash, stop being moronic |
Thebigheart:Which headache or you did not read the headline? Okupe is on his way to jail, he is now an ex convict except he wins an appeal in at least a year from now. By then d election is done and dusted, LP would had long lost |
owobokiri:The rail line that transverse Itakpe in Kogi state through Akoko Edo, Etssako, Uhe near Uromi, Igueben all in Edo State then Agbor, Warri and Aladja was completed by Buhari and it's functional, beautiful trains. The dualization of Uromi to Agbor road is almost complete, that project was first out in budget in 1999 when Mr Fix It was minister of Works. Also the bridge linking Bonny Island to the mainland delivered by this govt, first and only linkage of that island to d mainland. You guys should show respect to whom respect is due. Buhari delivered on infrastructure big time |
Napata77:You couldn't had replied him better. Don't know why these spare parts sellers cos they have smart phones just jump on threads to comment on matters beyond their brain capacities. This isn't for his type |

Did you just say Obi doesn't believe in godfatherism? How did Obiano become governor? Or u don't know the man was never a politician but a Director in a bank Obi had large shareholding? Obi imposed him on APGA and Anambra and when d man became gov tried to control him but failed hence they parted ways. Obi is a failed godfather. You said Obi children are what? Why did he hide assets in the name of his daughter in Virgin Island as exposed by Pandora Papers? You say Obi doesn't collect contract or pension from d state? Yet he invested d money of d state in his private biz, he benefitted from that investment, that's called conflict of interest, in d US or UK he goes to jail, in China, they execute him. Obi has no record of performance in Anambra, Chris Ngige did better roads than him, grew IGR more than he did, Obiano also grew IGR more than he did. Obi has d unenviable record of not conducting LG elections all through his tenure till d last year. So what happened to their allocations? Abeggi |
comrodioodio001:Okowa that would build a road and stop halfway. Never seen such a wasteful and purposeless govt. Asaba is so unplanned, people build houses at center of the road hence so many closes, the gutters are dumped with refuse, no presence of sanitation officers or ministry of environment, the town and Warri are filled with Keke as main means of transport, more Keke than cars, Asaba has no intra city buses or taxis, no Uber or bolt yet Okowa wants to be VP of Nigeria. Based on what performance na ![]() |
jmoore:We Edos love him nonetheless, he is our pride. He addressed that woman in a fit of anger cos she was selling on the walkway but he apologized to her, invited her and her son for breakfast at govt house and gave her a job as an assistant. As usual some of you are only attude to the sad side, the joyful ending is a stab and sorrow to your heart. Change for good! |
NigeriaIsGreat:Come on, he was only being sarcastic by conjuring the probable opposition reaction, some of una no do literature at all for school? The sarcasm shows he is in support of Asiwaju and APC strides in Lagos |
CaptainAyub:That's cos they care not insulting and harassing people like Obi supporters |
Nefort:Obi is the candidate of the shallow thinker who believes cost cutting would solve our problems whereas what we have is a revenue problem which Obi has no clue how to solve. Obi is the candidate of the riff raffs, the yahoo boys, empty headed easy virtue ladies who have heard that the fashionable thing on social media is to be Obidient. But the deep and critical thinker, the realist, the pragmatists and goal getters are all for Asiwaju. These goal getters control the political space, the power elites of the south west and north and they are going to slam dunk Asiwaju into Aso Rock. Would be a miracle of Obi wins three states. Realistically he may win Anambra and then Edo and if u push it, maybe Abia but that's all he can do, no more ! |
mycar:Am not your friend, you are a compound A- hole for telling me to be ashamed, am I running naked on the streets of Aba like you? For your info, Bola Tinubu wasn't mentioned in the Pandora Papers. What kind of illiterate are you? And you are justifying a governor who wants to pay a contractor with cash of N250m? What happened to doing a transfer? If you were not an olodo you would have known that the money laundering act forbids and criminalizes it. Obi obviously didn't want the money to be traced but slowpokes like you didn't even know when a man is robbing u blind by daylight. The police IG knew Obi was lying hence he paid back the cash to Anambra state account. My consolation is that Obi would never be president. If he manages to win three states, that would be a miracle. He knows that, it's retards like you that are in dreamland waiting for the impossible |
