And I put the blame on entire Rivers people. They are afraid to put him in check even in their state, and he is bringing his silly bravado to national level. Very useless power drunk and corrupt slowpoke. Even if Wike goes to court and court declares that he cannot be suspended, what is so difficult for the PDP members to cut off Wike from all PDP meetings and activities and render him useless in the party. All need to do is ensure all meetings and PDP affairs are strictly by invitations. He cannot attend a meeting or partake in decision making when he is not invited. You will be shocked he will be expelled from the party, he has done his worse, what else can he do. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: If Iranian Strikes Were A Flop Why Is Israel Now Declaring War On Iran ? by Oghene86: 10:27pm On Apr 15, 2024 |
GenSpecifics: The truth is Iran hit Israel hard.
Out of 44 ballistic missiles fired from Iranian soil that is over a 1,000km from Israel after Iran made it known in advance within 48hrs, 9 struck their targets.
A Mossad drone base in the Negav desert was hit hard with reported casualties of at least 44. This same base houses F-35 bombers.
The cost ration of Iran's attack was in their favour as it cost them only 40-60 million USD to stage their drone and missile barrage . Note that all the hardware used in striking Israel are manufactured in Iran.
The cost of attempting to repel the missile and drone swarm on the part of US tax payers amounted to over $1bn and involved US maritime strike groups, patriot batteries in Iraq , Israel, Syria and Saudi Arabia. Jordan even chipped in by sending their air force to engage drones in midair over Israeli air space.
Now if you go by the official IDF narrative that minimal damage was caused by the Iranian swarm attack , why then is Israel now fuming and declaring war against Iran ?
Currently the IDF is declaring war on Iran and the Israeli Knesset has given Netayanyu full war powers.
If Iran's latest attack was a nothing burger , then why is Israel hell bent on forcing the US into war with Iran ? Tomorrow is people like you that will be shouting genocide by the time Israel takes on Iran, you will all forget about this strike on Israel. |

Ofunaofu: ...over Bobrisky’s conviction
Reactions have continued to trail the conviction of popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, to six months in prison without the option of a fine.
The main pain points for many were that it was Bobrisky’s first offence and he pleaded guilty. Also, there were other person who were spraying money at same event as him.
Vanguard earlier reported that Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos delivered the judgment after Bobrisky pleaded guilty to Naira abuse charges.
Activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju; fiery rights advocate, AishaYesufu; infleuncer, Omojuwa, are among many who have expressed their misgivings about Bobrisky’s sentencing.
Reactions
After the ruling, activist and lawyer, Adeyanju, faulted the court’s decision to sentence Bobrisky to jail without the option of fine.
He questioned the appropriateness of the sentence. He cited efforts to decongest Nigerian prisons and the fact that this is Bobrisky’s first offense. His statement read: “We note with concern, the six months sentence handed down to Mr. Okuneye Idris Olarewaju (AKA Bobrisky), without an option of fine, for Naira mutilation offence, as reported by various national news platforms.
“While we do not condone any attempt to break down the law or actual violation of the law, we are, however, constrained to state on record that at a time when private individuals, non-governmental organisations, states and federal governments are taking steps to decongest our prisons, Mr. Olarewaju, a first time offender, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment, notwithstanding his allocutus and promise to use his platform to sensitise the public against Naira mutilation.
“In handing down sentences, we urge our courts to be mindful of the cultural undertone surrounding offences.
“The act of spraying Naira or (otherwise called Naira mutilation), though an offence criminalised by law, is one that has been part of our cultural practice from time immemorial.
“The relevant agencies, therefore, have a duty to carry out large scale sensitization on the issue, before seeking to prosecute offenders.
“We also note that even at the said event where Mr. Olarenwaju was alleged to have mutilated the Naira, there were several other persons engaging in the same act. The question is, why single out Mr. Olarenwaju?
“In prosecuting offences like this, security agencies must be careful not to give the impression that the defendant is being targeted for alleged offences other than those stated on the face of the charge.” ‘The more you look…’
Similarly, a lawyer, Inibehe Effiong in a post on X (Twitter) wrote: “Six months imprisonment without an option of fine after he pleaded guilty? And despite being a first time offender?”I’m speechless!”
@AishaYesufu said: “Who advised him to plead guilty? How does spraying of money equate to mutilating money?
“If it is and a crime why is it selectively used?”
A constitutional lawyer, Festus Ogun, wrote: “Bobrisky is a first time offender. He pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity, to save the time of the court and resources of the state.
“Yet, he was convicted and sentenced to six months imprisonment WITHOUT an option of fine.”
@Omojuwa wrote: “I hope there’s room for appeal. This person is a first-time offender who immediately pleaded guilty.
“Six months without a fine makes it appear like there are motives beyond what has been spelt out. It’d be one of the most bizarre carriages of ‘justice’ you’d ever see in Nigeria.”
@_Asiwajerry wrote: “This Bobrisky sentence is a matter of the more you look the less you see.
“There are people who have committed far more heinous crimes than what he did and they got bail options.”
X user, @Letter_to_Jack said: “Never been a fan of Bobrisky. But if the breaking news of his sentencing is correct, then it’s worrisome. Is six months jail term without option of fine not excessive to you guys?
“Or you don’t care about fairness because you want the guy punished for something else entirely?”

AKSG SPENDS N112BN ON ROAD PROJECTS: YET NOTHING IS GOING ON AT CONSTRUCTION SITES!
...Eleven(11) other completed roads included in the 2024 budget...
...2024 budget padding brouhaha looming...
That Akwa Ibom State Government has spent over N112 billion on road infrastructure since May 2023 is rather mind-buggling, worrisome, grave fallacy and one of the 21st century tales by moonlight...
A government that isn't up to a year old since swearing in on May 29,2023 is claiming to have sunk in such a whooping sum of state funds into a non-existence/audio road projects unimaginable is painting a clearer picture of the Umo Eno led administration not doing anything different from the previous administration which had groomed, cultivated and implemented the culture of spendthridting the state Treasury in absolute secrecy which has given rise to the fathom looting spree, fingering and rakeless wasting of the people's commonwealth/patrimony in the hands of a few greedy, marabouting, selfish, self pocket filled and self-centered cabal who are only interested in enriching their immediate family, relations, selected friends, cronies, business associates and government hallelujah praises singers to the detriment of the common masses (Akwaibomites)
In a recent disclosure by the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof Eno Ibanga when he presented a breakdown at the State Executive Council meeting in Uyo.
Eno Ibanga claimed 39 new road projects have been undertaken with N78.77 billion released to fund them, while old projects have been funded to the tone of over N30 Billion, with an additional N12 Billion recently released by the Governor.
If we have to go by the figures released by the Commissioner for Works that a whooping N112 billion has been disbursed by the Governor for road infrastructure since May 2023, with 39 new road projects receiving N78.77 billion & N30 Billion for old projects, with additional release of N12 Billion, how come is the state not witnessing much of the infrastructural projects spanning the state so far❓
The Umo Eno led administration has so far performed abysmally low if we have to go by the current indices of hunger, massive unemployment, hyperinflation rate in the cost of living and slow pace of economic activities in the state since assumption of office...
If the governor and his Co- deceptive travellers are busy mouthing about release of funds for projects, Akwaibomites will definitely want to see how much work is going on at those sites as claimed...
This administration is yet to hit the ground since assumption of office, all we see is random organization of crusades alongside dabbling political fathers of faith and uncountable flag off of projects without especially road projects as claimed without nothing going on at most of the project sites...
If government claims releasing such whooping sum of monies for roads construction alone within the spate of 9-10 months since May 29, we should at least see massive construction sites sprawling the nooks and crannies of the state not when nothing is going on and they're telling us folk tales and chorusing folklores of empty achievements yet billions of state allocation/funds, security votes, internally generated revenue and other royalties are accruing into the state treasury...
One the banes and sad scenarios hovering like a thick cloud over this administration is the fact that Eno is still allowing himself get surrounded by those who alongside the excruciating reign of eight ( unyielding jamboree years of his political godfather and predecessor Udom Emmanuel remains in the corridors of power those who aided in looting/milking this state dry are those taking strategic policy decisions since his assumption and this will definitely not change the development, growth and advancement narrative positively with all this naysayers, confusionist, detractors, cheap monks, sychophantic hallelujah praises singers and selfish bigots hanging on...
Are we not aware that Uyo - Ikot Ekpene road and eleven (11) other completed projects are currently in the approved 2024 budget of the state government❓
There are enough to show the public aside from the White Elephant projects of past administration of Udom Emmanuel which Eno has likewise injected billions of state funds to continue to draw crippling funds into those good for nothing ventures. A typical example is the five hundred million naira (500,000,000.00) allocation for the construction of additional structures at the worship centre which hasn't been put to adequate use since the exit of his predecessor...
The State Bulk Purchase Agency recently inaugurated by Gov. Eno to ensure equitable involvement of the vulnerable persons has defaulted with so much of state funds sunk into the hurriedly passed bill by the rubber stamped state assembly...
The agency is operated on party lines and the beneficiaries are merely people from one party, yes of course the People's Democratic Party (PDP)The outcry by supposed beneficiaries currently has reached a crescendo and the head of the agency being the governor's kinsman is also a rooted PDP apologist...
In all I believe those managing the information organs of government should guide most of this appointees to do more on figures research which do not balance with work done to avoid washing their dirty linen in the market square, there's nothing showing so far if government claims it has so far in less than ten(10) months in office spent such in road construction alone aside flagging off rasmatazz...
It's all a grand conspiracy to loot, spendthrift and milk the state treasury within a few cabal...
Umo Eno should face governance to a radical conclusion and avoid those luring him into this whitewash of piling up funds for his re-election...
What will be will be... 2027 is coming, deliver on election promises if any...
Pat Reuben writes in from Awantong/ Ikot Eba-Etinan Nigeria! I really don't see this present governor of Akwa ibom state doing well, though let's give him some time hopefully he may pick up |

Politics › Re: Electricity Tariff Will Reduce If Exchange Rate Reduces Below N1,000/$ - Adelabu by Oghene86: 3:26am On Apr 12, 2024 |
shafykay: The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, says the N225 kilowatt-hours being paid by electricity consumers on Band A will reduce if the exchange rate falls below N1,000 to a dollar.
Adelabu said this on Thursday when he appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
On April 3, the Federal Government, through the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, announced that subsidy would no longer be paid on the electricity consumed by Band A customers.
From N68/kWh, Band A customers now pay N255/KWh, while others maintain the old tariffs.
1 kWh is the amount of energy that could be used if a 1,000-watt appliance is kept running for an hour.
For example, a 100-watt light bulb operating for 10 hours would consume 1 kWh.
Answering questions on the programme, the minister stated that the amount being paid by the Band customers is still cheaper than the amount being spent on fuel.
The tariff is flexible. I can tell you if the naira gains more and the exchange rate comes down below N1,000 to a dollar, it must positively affect the tariff; and the tariff, even for Band A, will come down below the N225/KWh that we are currently charging.
“There are variable factors that go into the composition of the tariff, and we are not closing our eyes to it. We are publishing it, we are transparent, we are talking to Nigerians and all the power sector stakeholders. This administration is very serious, and we are committed to transforming the sector,” Adelabu declared.
According to him, the current problems in the power sector had accumulated for over 50 years, saying it could not be resolved in a year.
“The problem we are having is an accumulated problem of over 50 years. It will not disappear in one year, but we’ve been making consistent and gradual progress,” he added.
The minister stressed that efforts are ongoing to upgrade customers on other bands to Band A as power generation improves in the next six months.
The President Bola Tinubu administration has come under heavy criticism for the recent electricity hike as groups and individuals called for a reversal of the decision.

When I saw him brought out rigor mortis had already set in as his hands and legs are already frozen to the original position he died in. The bigger issue then comes to the fact that in Nigeria they have minsters, commissioners , directors, heads etc from the federal to sometimes local government level who receive billions annually and are charged with overseeing the inland water ways because thousands of Nigerians commute through these routes daily. What do they do with the billions ? Making life jackets compulsory for such trips is what is obtainable in decent societies but in Nigeria you won’t even find them in office and when they are there would be drinking beer with plates of pepper soup and watching TV So he actually died? I thought he was still alive na wa |
