lorretta u: ..I need to understand your POV on Nigerian security issues, boko haram,MEND.MASSOB,Ombatse,etc.all the bodies violent and non violent alike who have been struggling for recognition and relevance in this country.and I also would like to hear your suggestion on how security problem can be handled better.
What would you suggest the govt and the people do to ensure fairness and justice to all the citizenry?just give me your candid opinion.free from bias and ethnicity.thanks

Hmmmm.. I'll tackle them one at a time..

Boko haram: This group is a terrorist group. I say this because though they claim to be fighting for The protection of their faith, you and I know that they have no real purpose for fighting. Also their methodology of fighting has claimed lot of innocent lives and infringed on the rights of others.. For Boko Haram, I say 'extinguish them.. Don't negotiate with terrorists'.

MEND, NDVF, NDLF, e.t.c.: All these I classify them as a semi-terrorist group. Although they have made genuine points to support their cause, their methodology has also resulted in the deaths and injury of many innocent Nigerians. For this group, I suggest that their demands be looked into and the militant aspect of their movement be crushed by force.

MASSOB, BAKKASSI BOYS, BIAFRAN ZIONIST MOVEMENT, e.t.c: These groups I classify under 'Rebel groups'.. Reason being that their ultimate mission is the division of this country and as a Nigerian, I find that unacceptable. Their methodology has violent tendencies and they are an ethnically charged group who have taken the law into their hands severally. Their actions have resulted in the death of people (both Northern and even easterners), they have been used severally by politicians to upset the polity on many occasions and these group have a high propensity for violence. Non of the above mentioned groups should be tolerated. Members should be arrested and tried for treason.

OHANEZE: now this group I can live with. Made of of elders and has no militant tendencies. Their methodology is purely via diplomacy. I have no issues with them. They have threatened violence but have never resorted to violence.

OMBATSE:: I'm still not familiar with this group, their mission and objectives. However, I'm well aware of their violent tendencies and I strongly believe that this group should be infiltrated by the SSS, intelligence gathered on them and then they should be destroyed by any and all means necessary including force. They have shown that they have a high propensity for violence, are ethinaically charged and are not afraid to kill.

Simply put, if any group advocates violence, uses violence, infringes on the rights of others, are racially, ethnically and tribally motivated towards violence, then that group must be destroyed by any and all means necessary, irrespective of its ultimate goal.

. The struggle for relevance can be archived without violence or infringing on the rights of others. Look at the Chechen rebels for example.. they are fighting for what i consider a worthy cause, but their methodology has claimed the lives of many many innocent people. The theatre massacre and the school seige is still fresh on my mind. A well organised peaceful protest that doesn't pose a threat to others, using the Internet, a demonstration at international conferences and gatherings like the UN, G-8 summits, etc, Using the media, banners, billboards, radios, e.t.c without violence, vandalism or any other such violent and destructive means. Every group has the right to express themselves without causing a nuisance or interfering with the rights of others.

To ensure freedom and equity for all... Nna men, that one go be long sermon.

If you listened to her you cannot escape tears! She saw her own caring mother.

According to her, the woman was a 'good woman', caring, hard-working and every other thing you can think of BUT the entire family before she died never believed in JESUS let alone accept him as their Lord and personal saviour.

I don't even know how to describe all she said ( just few hours ago) cos the tears & agony was too much for her to bear... This girl couldn't recognise her mother .. If not for the voice she heard, and her look according to her is something you'll never wish for your worst enemy..

She said her mother was crying bitterly in pains and regrets. omg cry cry cry

I beg all of una, HELL is soooo REAL.
and the worst is our world today is full of sin.. everything around us is sin..

Lord I need your mercy.....

and as for these Pastors who always ignore the teachings of Hell & Heaven out of fear of loosing Money and people to occupy your plastic chairs, may God close down your churches & run you down until you repent & change your ways (Amen!)

Politics / Re: Enugu Shuns MASSOB Sit-at-home Order by Okijajuju: 11:58am On Jun 09, 2013
teemlo: THE people of Enugu Saturday refused to comply with the directive by the pro-Biafra group, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB to sit at home to mourn Igbos killed in northern states by Boko Haram.

There was apprehension among the people over the sit-at-home order but there was no compliance as the people went about their normal businesses.

The state police command had on Wednesday issued a statement warning those trying to cause confusion in the state to drop the idea or face the wrath of the law.

The command thereafter beefed up security in parts of the state to signal their readiness to tackle the miscreants who masquerade as MASSOB members.

Many residents who woke up Saturday morning expecting to see the enforcement of the order were disappointed as the capital city was calm with many traders doing their normal businesses.

The markets were opened to traders and buyers even though some youths were telling people that there would be no trading at Ogbete Main Market.

Officials of MASSOB were nowhere to be found as policemen were seen along major streets of the capital city.

Reports from Nsukka, however, said economic activities were partially paralyzed as some traders locked up their shop in the market for fear of being attacked

My dear don't mind that Okija Shrine/Juju or whatever he parades himself with, Owerri is a full member state of Biafra, and have a lot of MASSOB memebers. Chief Uwazuruike used to pay us visit to MASSOB meeting in Owerri. Today 98% of Owerri people/residents observed this Sit At Home. Orlu my town has the highest members of die hard MASSOB members in Igbo land.

Yes, behold every 12, there must be a Judas, that is simple truth. Many are criticizing the MASSOB today just because they couldn't gain the membership, today they are calling the group many nasty names, some are claiming to be educated while they are 24/7 online on nairaland meaning that they are online graduates. MASSOB, do not force anyone to be a member neither do they force anyone to believe and support their agitation for the Sovereign State of Biafra.

When Dim Ojukwu was busy fighting for the freedom of Biafra, many of his kinsmen and other notable Igbo men eg DR B.N. Azikiwe was against him. Today Chief R. Uwazuruike is fighting, the same people are here calling him names. No one can please everyone that is for sure. Not every South African black supported Dr Nelson Mandela during the struggle but today all of them are happy and enjoying the freedom. Distractors/traitors will never seize to exist, we are very ready and prepared for them.

My prayer is for the Biafra to be free, so that every Biafra citizen should come home and contribute towards the development of our land.

I repeat again Imo state and Owerri the capital is a full and committed member state of the MASSOB and are in great support of our freedom and liberation. We are the Heartland of the Biafra, played a vital role during the war, and still playing it now. God bless the Biafra, MASSOB and all the Igbo sons and daughters both at home and in diaspora, amen.

Lol... Mua Judas? Mua online graduate! grin

Imo State is a Biafran state but not a MASSOB stronghold, #fact! Even Ohaneze was against this sit at home order. I guess that makes them Judases as well.

Anyways, there is no point to this thread anymore. The day has come and passed. Wether the entire Ndi Igbo nation sat at home, stood on the street or went to farm, it's now irrelevant. The pump price of petrol has not changed, not even the price of Opka at 9th mile was affected.

Oya.. Tell Uwazuruike to organise another useless exercise. Whilst other tribes are formulating strategies to better their lot in Nigeria, you and your likes should sit at home.

i think this thing has being explained over and over again, that bridge had to fit in into the space, by the length of it you would realize that it is not for want of money or material that the bridge wasn't wider than that but for the sake of minimizing damages to already existing structures by the side, since the flyover will still achieve is intended purpose why add more burden on the government purse? bear in mind also that if they had to bulldoze buildings by the side of the road, that flyover wouldn't be completed in 5 years, people will sue their lives out.

gbanikiti: So sad for the death of your uncles. I also lost my maternal uncle in the war. He wasn't forced to join the Biafran Army but he volunteered to join. I almost lost my dad but he escaped during the training at Ozubulu.
If the killing of your uncles made your to hate Biafra, well it's your decision. There are many families who lost their loved ones during the war, that doesn't stop them from believing in Biafra. We all need to put the past behind and actualise the Biafran struggle without another civil war.

my dear, I don't hate the Biafran struggle at all.. But I'm not gonna support the Biafran struggle based purely on testosterone.

What does Biafra bring to the table? What makes you think Biafra would be better than Nigeria? Ordinary Umuleri and Aguleri which are next door neighbours still harbour residual bad blood for each other. What's Biafra going to look like. Would it involve the South south? How would the internal strife between Ndi Igbos be sorted? A lot of unanswered questions. It's not just for us to join the Band wagon and chant 'we want Biafra'. Even I personally doubt that Ojukwu really thought the Biafran idea through properly. Lts all remember that the primary motivation for the Biafran struggle was to basically 'stop the killing of Igbos by northerners'. Nobody asked what part the ijaws, Benin, Deltans and the over 150 minority ethnic groups that would have fallen with the Biafran territory would play.

The question for me is WHAT EXACTLY DOES BIAFRA HAVE TO OFFER EXCEPT A NATION THAT WOULD HAVE IGBOS AS THE MAJORITY ETHINIC GROUP MERGED WITH OVER 100 MINORITY ETHINIC GROUPS WHO WOULD EVENTUALLY BE MARGINALIZED BY THE IGBOS?

anonimi: For some time now I have warned my friends who happen to be propaganda proponents and remain blindly loyal supporters of the Association of Conmen in Nigeria, ACN that they NEED to stop LYING and circulating LIES to us. This forum is not made up of their usual crowd of Area boys, agberos, motor park touts, thugs etc.
They obviously cannot and do not want to listen and heed good advice, hence they continue their reckless journey of dis-information.

Last year's budget ALONE of N160 billion contained a provision for over N50 billion as loan:

And this is obvious given what Ajimobi's state receives from the federal allocation which flows essentially from Niger Delta oil monthly.

So the difference between the N110 billion "to be financed directly" and the N2.3 billion monthly allocation is the IGR that is taxes, levies, rates, fines etc from the hands, wallets, pockets, handbags and purses of Oyo state residents and even those outside the state who have aged or other dependents whom they support due to Ajimobi administration's failure to provide socio-economic facilities of

* free & compulsory education for our children
* free basic primary health care
* potable water for all
* cleaning gutters and clearing bush
* etc etc

Initiatives that will generate revenue & create massive employment down the line with an attractive and competitive investment climate.

Logically, the Oyo lawmakers approved the bill for Ajimobi to borrow the N50 billion last year.

It is interesting to note that the TWO loan requests from the governor were approved by the lawmakers after "29-clause amendment to it before a two-thirds majority passed it into law" in October 2012. That was some three months after the infamous trip to London for the "training" of the lawmakers' wives.

Pvt. Parts:

He is clueless as of what to do with money in bettering his state.

He is the kind of Gov. that will be hoping on an increase from the Federal Purse to demand a higher share.
Just like they conveniently remained silent during the Fuel subsidy palaver only to bare their fangs demanding more money from the pot. These are the kind of governors that will look envyingly at the allocation going to the oil producing states without looking in wards to develop whatever resources (both human and industrial) in their states.
So instead you have a Gov. whose basic function is to:
1. act as paymaster in the moribound state civil service (a sector that is more of a blight to the state)
2. Award contracts on projects that have little or no significant developmental bearing to the state as a whole

He is plain clueless.

I really wish I didn't share similar opinion as yourself on this matter so we can have a healthy debate. You have just made very very good points. Not borrowing money in 2 years does not mean that Oyo state is doing very well economically either.

On a flip, I guess it's a good thing. Rather than borrow money to do nothing.

From the history you Anambra people never participated in the Biafra struggle like other parts of Igbo, so spare us these your too know trash and pomposity, you are only an online academician.

In MASSOB, there are many more educated elites, you can't be in your hut and ascertain the educational levels of the members. If you are not in support of MASSOB, good , as you have the right of choice but stop exposing your stupidity online against the people you can't even match many of their members. During the war your people were busy trading in the main market Ontisha , until Murtala Muhammed invaded you guys. His escape was assisted by an Otuocha woman when his troops were destroyed at the Niger bridge.

I have been reading most of the trash you post against the people who are fighting for their freedom, i know you are well placed and love your one Nigeria, good, but stop speaking on the matter that is far beyond your status. You are right to be against the MASSOB, after all the Northerners were against the independence of Nigeria from the beginning.

Remain calm and enjoy your under the slave master's table bones , but let the MASSOB be. Market never notice the absence of a single trader. I'm comfortable, no questioning that. I work super hard like many progressive Ndi Igbos and I can't blame Mother Nature for blessing my hustle.

On the Biafra matter, you need to cut that crap. My family played a very prominent part in that war till the last moment. One of the people that was with Ojukwu when he fled Biafra was my grandfather. My family lost everything to that war. My grandmother lost 4 sons in one day to a Nigerian army arial bombardment of Aba. My grandfather still carries a bullet frag in his head from that war. Now where was your family when mine was busy shedding blood, sweat and tears in that war? Don't come chanting Biafra like its only those who fly the rising sun flag today that are the true patriots. We Anambraians didn't play any prominent part in the war? Wow! Like wow! Like fuuccking wow! Infact, there is no response suitable for this one. Just wow!

Why some of you feel it's okay to respond with insults is amazing. Throwing insults around like it makes your post more intelligent than it is.
