Ayokunle07: @OP, I was robbed about 3 weeks ago, in my house at the estate in Amuwo Odofin and I'd been thinking exactly of what you posted.Sounds like a good business idea to me but I doubt if our police force will make it profitable for the owner. After recovering the phone for the actual owner, he will have to pay the recovery outfit for their service and settle the NPF, which must have been involved at the point of recovery. Save for few people with newest BB models and/or those who want back some data, who would be willing to pay, say 15k, for a phone whose second-hand price is below 25k. |
If you are not ready to carry the baby, stop fuccking around without condom. Simple! |
Finding a wife is not the problem, but finding a good one. Even if a guy choosed not to do any of what OP listed, he's still gonna find a wife! |
Me sef don get a message from her but I never reach @kunletiwoo's stage. I just got the first format while she don dey samma you with the third format. Haba! This scam reign way back in 05. Anyone who falls for this scam, in this day and age, is a CRETIN. |
@Moderators A NLer (sandra27) followed me and I reciprocated the gesture. Then I got the overplayed BS: "Hello, Your profile caught my trust and mind.we can be friends if you wouldnt mind. You can contact me on (sandrasamik@yahoo.co.uk) so we can know each other better and i can send you my pictures for you to see more of me. cheerrrs Miss Sandra." The reason why I brought this here is because that Let's have a scam-free NL. |
Olufunmi was the thing then. Love ya Styl Plus. |
Imagine, just for a minute, that your name is Aliko Dangote, even though your family is not related to that of the famous billionaire. Whenever you go for a job interview, you are asked what your name is and you answer them "Aliko Dangote". When you go to see someone (whom you've not met before) at their office and the secretary ask for your name, you reply: "Tell him Aliko Dangote is here to see him". What thoughts do you think will be on the mind of these people? How will life be like for you? Though the example above may not be very popular but I've seen something similar. I've seen countless namesakes of some very successful and famous people on Facebook and I try to figure whether their names will have an effect on their lifelong dream and aspirations. I have a friend named Jimoh Ibrahim. He's over 25 so he couldn't have been named Jimoh because of the billionaire's fame (some people do so e.g. People started naming their children Goodluck immediately after Jonathan became the Acting President). When I asked my friend what is it like to share a name with someone famous, he responded with: "life is not a competition though everybody will like to be known for what they do, except you're an armed robber." If you google the keyword 'Jimoh Ibrahim', you wouldn't find anything related to my friend, even on the 10th page. Why? Because the famous billionaire is always in the news and keeps pushing my friend to page God-knows-what. Something similar is also occurring in internet blogging right now. This is between Linda Ikeji and Laila Ikeji (no disrespect to both of them). Few months ago, Laila posted a picture of Jim Iyke eating roasted corn in Amsterdam on her blog, later on NL and the thread made the frontpage. This generated maximum publicity for the picture but Jim Iyke took offense at the picture and mistakenly took the fight to Linda Ikeji. This degenerated into a twitter fight between Linda and Jim. When Jim apologised to Linda (maybe after discovering) and it was made clearer that the said picture was posted by Laila, some of the comments on Jim's apology thread were like "an [b]obscure[\b] blogger caused it all". When I first encountered Laila Ikeji's blog, I'm like "must she be a blogger? She's most likely trying to cash in on Linda Ikeji's goodwill." But later I asked myself "why can't she be a blogger? Because Linda is a successful blogger was not good enough a reason." Did you share or know someone who share both names with someone famous? How are you or they living it out? If you are not, what advise will you give to people in this position? I'm sure many will advise that these people should live their lives as they would have done if these famous namesakes never existed but one thing is certain, their names will be overshadowed by their famous namesakes, even though they might be successful in their own right. |
They keep citing "standard best practices" when it benefits them and "this is Nigeria" when they are at disadvantage. SMH |
Nice one bro. Thumbs up. |
@OP Like Henry120 said, the app doesn't work as an app on some BB models and it keeps redirecting to your homepage. If I can go to your homepage directly, why should I use the app? After addressing this issue, you can implore users to leave you a favourable rating if they found the app useful. That way, it will be easy for others to find the app. |
Even if I can't be in the church where Jonathan was cracking ribs, thank goodness I had my share of the laughter in my room. |
National Bureau of Statistics even had nothing like monthly unemployment rate on their website. Even if they did, why should I believe it when they claimed that the 2011 rate was less than 25% while Nigerians who are wearing the shoe know that it pinches harder than that. I'm sure government just pick any figure they fancy and claim unemployment has been reduced. |
We've achieved new feats in corruption. That one neva do? |
The delegates were paid to leave the hall, just like the Ojota subsidy protesters were sponsored to protest. |
Joyturns2: Summoned sounds like order or something expecially when it's Nigerian reporter that is speaking, maybe it should be "when they met" IMO ooooThis is done world over in diplomatic relations. Saying 'when they met' sounds like he paid Sambo a courtesy visit and they wanted to have a cup of tea. Like the news rightly stated, he was summoned 'to explain the treatment given to Nigerians and also to register our complaints with his home country'. |
Is this not the same Mark that wanted to censor the internet? |

bennyraz: bennyraz sipping teaWill you ever finish your tea? |
The moral of the story: Be careful of what you buy, especially second-hand products. I've seen a common BB putting people in serious trouble. @OP Please try to write in a comprehendable form. You are giving readers extra stress to decipher what you are saying. |
surveyProf: Listen, the lady I was answering, said she has seen the pix on facebook, and I simply ask her to prove it, I know I am the one, dat is meant to prove it, by using a link, does dis answer ur question? She did so by giving you the name of the facebook page where the picture allegedly originated from. She even said she would have posted the link but she's typing on a phone. What else do you want her to say? Don't tell me you are too lazy to search and visit the facebook page if you are so bent on finding someone to disprove what you never proved. Ciao |
surveyProf: hey listen up gentleman, it has not come to dis level of abusive language, the lady I was answering simply said its frm facebook, and I said she should prove it, that is it, was the question directed to you?Stop whining and prove that they are Nigerians like you claimed in the title of your thread. The burden of proof is on you and on you alone. No one should be asked to disprove what you have not proved. Ciao |
All these money you are mentioning, are they that easy to pool together? I'll rather take a job that gives me 60k every month over a job that gives an average of 2k daily. |
surveyProf: Your source is not good anofe, you hv not been able to prove beyond reasonable doubt dat it was not in Nigeria.....lolYou never proved that they are Nigerians yet you tagged them Nigerians (according to the title of your thread) and you keep asking someone to disprove what you never proved! You must be a cretin. I'm very sure you acting stewpid to keep this thread trending. Ciao |
This is getting interesting. |
^^^ You can simply quote only the bolded part. And you even said nothing. SMH |
cotton101: its only in nigeria a woman will have a broken arm bloody face and people will ask for the other side of the storyDidn't Amb. Wigwe's wife have a 'bloody face'? |
@OP and Gbawe, may God bless you in your quest to see a better Africa. |
Since the book gives her account of 2003 - 2006, she better start writing another book titled "The Unreformability of the Unreformable". |
Wow indeed. The problem is that intellectual property is not always taken seriously on social networks. I once asked a guy whe he choose not to cite the author of an article he posted on a group wall on Facebook and he responded by raining abuses on me. |
What a sad news! That said, why the emphasis on Kings College? The same thing happened with Nonso (the pharmacist in Cynthia's case). How did his KC alumnus status change the fact that he was brutally murdered? Nawa for these KC boys sha. |
I once asked my HOD this question: "Of what use is a PHD when I may even start my own biz after doing it because of the incessant clamour for entrepreneurship? His answer: "It makes you a better person." |
