Semtu:Send them an e-mail: iomlagosmedicalbooking@iom.int A customer care representative would respond to you at thier next business day. |
mrczar:So sorry bro, I know this is painful but you will get it if you dont give up. Wait for your GCMS notes to arrive to help you see areas that you can improve on. In the meantime, please try to take your mind off and enjoy the holiday, take sometime to relax and have fun. You can contact any of the gurus privately in your re-application to help you review your SOP. It would end in praise. |
Holarjoseph:This would depend on the nature of the enquiry of the CBSA officer; * At the Point of Entry - The CBSA officer already has details of the incoming immigrant ( e.g international student) displayed on thier screen as they asked the students those random questions before printing out study permit. They can always request to see the enrollment letter from the student if they want to confirm if the person is actually a registered student. The decision to log into a student portal is rare exept they have some doubts and want to probe further. * Compliance Reporting - The designated learning Institutions do report details of thier enrolled international student like twice in a year to IRCC which is another way the immigration authorities do track genuinue students. I hope this adddress your question. |
ehiremen2002:I understand the anxiety. I presume your application has exceeded standard processing times since you submitted the re-application in May. You can send them an e-mail and via webform appealing to them to speed up the process of your application. One of thier primary objective test is to see if you are genuine student so let that reflect in your reminder to them. Let them know you have completed a semester in your home country and that your continous studies online is not really conducive and not alowing you get the best value from your fellow cohorts and faculty due to the difference in time zones etc You can attach your enrollment letter for the completed semester and that of winter as proof of enrollment. Let the e-mail be concise and straight to the point. All the best. |
ehiremen2002:Ghost update means your application is currently being reviewed by assessing visa officers. E-mails are not sent for ghost update except if there is an update on your account like i.e medical request, Request for additional document, Original Passport Request etc. Keep hope alive and be hopeful for a positive decision. |
Tinakem:Hi Tinakem, Thanks for the confirmation. Do you know if this is particular to just Ehiopian Airline and does not affect other airlines? I have a friend planning to go through Ghana but plans using another foreign airline. |
Racewinner:If you are fully set and have all your stuff sorted , you can plan travelling in December. You would need time to settle in so you are not distracted with so many things you need to sort when classes starts. It is also getting really cold and the snows are falling heavily. Dont forget your thick jackets, thick sweater, glooves and boots. You can get a jacket with hoodie to cover your head or hat. Aboniki and rub too for your chest. I felt i should chip that in. Safe trip in advance. |
Luckymama:Dont worry, you will get a hang of it with time. I had that weird experience early this year (winter 2021) when i came in. Everywhere looking so quiet unlike the buzzling noise and music from some quarters we are used to in Nigeria. Sometimes, i will just sit looking at the window staring at flying birds or squirrel jumping up and down. It can be that depressing when you are new so i can relate with guys having this initial shock. The truth is you will get used to it with time without realising it. I would say what helped me was that i made friends regardless of race. I reached out to classmates at random and formed bond with a couple of them which helped relieved boredom. I think it is even better now that schools are going back fully in-person so there is opportunity to mix and with time you will blend. |
mrczar:Hi mrczar, Please see as requested: https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en/search?caucusId=all&province=ON&gender=all The MP supports on schools within thier constituency so check the one in the same region where your school is and give them a call and email. I will also suggest you keep sending e-mail reminders to IRCC as your application has passed standard processing times. I hope this helps and all the best. |
mrczar:No one can really predict the internal workings of IRCC. It gives a postive impression of the applicant when they are able to respond to request from the IRCC in a timely manner. You just do your part and get another police clearance certificate and send to them asap. It shows your application is progressing. Hopefully, you get the love letter as a final decison. All the best. |
ednut1:Thanks for the headsup edut1 - I never knew such app existed. I just downloaded on my phone when i saw your post. It appears fun and makes sense. Will reserve this for after exam stuff. Much appreciated. |
Hello guys, I stumbled on these tips on writing academic essays for those applying to schools for admissions. These tips from this Youtuber might give some clues on how to go about your essay. I particularly like how she explained with gestures and demonstrations that viewers can relate to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAbAtCoMV0U&list=PLPTqUXuJ7a5fO6nDYUP_coq_qXNSEEj4h I wish everyone success. |
TheGbemisola:Send to the Addis Ababa Office since that's the primary office processing your Application. If you send it to London, they will re-route it to Ethiopia, but no harm in sending it to London, addis@international.gc.ca consul.addis@international.gc.ca All the best. |
etin06:The Study Permit application package as a whole should be able to convince the responsible visa officer that the applicant would depart Canada immediately after their studies. Hence, it goes way beyond the Affidavit of Return. The wordings on the statement of purpose or study plan should also be speaking that same language, so; the affidavit is just an additional document of proof to buttress what has been documented in the statement of purpose because one of the binding rules on study permit is to prove to the assessing visa officer and even the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) that the applicant or incoming immigrant will depart Canada when the study permit expires. Once the applicant can fulfil those conditions by resuming for studies and completing the program without violating their law and decides to apply for the Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) and gets approved, the person would no longer be bound by the study permit conditions but that of the Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). The person can then decide to follow that process legally till the Permanent Resident Permit is secured. So to answer your question, the answer is no as long as the person does not break their law and follow their rules. Cheers! |
OdabiP:It was sad reading this. This is pure wickedness. You can try to book a consultation with this Canadian immigration consultant. She was a former Canadian Visa officer. She should be able to advise you better on your chances. https://www.beaudoinimmigration.com/ (Credit of the link to Rolly A) |
Doree:You will be screened at your first point of entry. Since you will be landing first in Montreal, that is where you will be issued your study permit after verification by the respective CBSA officer. I presume your DLI is at Halifax. I would suggest you liaise with the immigration advisor of your school regarding the present COVID guidelines in Halifax or any other thing you need to know, but the bulk of your screening would be done in Montreal. Safe trip in advance. |
LoadedHollow:Why not? You can always re-apply after a refusal. I would recommend you use both your mum and dad as sponsors. There is nothing wrong if you intend to use your mum as the main sponsor. I suppose she has the bulk of the funds. Then your dad can be the co-sponsor. Both of them should jointly sign the sponsorship letter. She can also pay for your first-year tuition, and you attach the payment receipt to your next application. Having both parents as sponsors would put lots of weight on your application. But better to first apply for your GCMS notes so you know the specific concerns of the VO and you can tackle this in your next application All the best |
Chukwuemekatehi:@ Chukwuemekatehi, please let us bury the hatchet. Everyone that has been affected negatively as a result of this, Liliana2020, Ola, faithyyyy et al. Please don't be offended. Everyone has made their point. Please let us move forward and let peace reign. I wish those awaiting PPR God speed!!! One love |
Berle:Hi Berle, Please dm me directly. I still can't see any mail from you. Thanks a lot |
Soleizzy:Have you received a confirmation from the clinic where you did your medical exam that your result has been sent to the embassy. IRCC might not necessarily reply, and most times, they take time to acknowledge the documents you sent to them due to the high influx of applications they are dealing with. You would need to keep checking if your medical on your GC key has been updated to pass, then you are good. All the best. |
ManlikeDee:Hi ManlikeDee, Read through the link below as published on the IRCC web to guide you on the necessary documents to prepare for your study permit application. Please note that you would need to prepare a Letter of Explanation or Statement of Purpose. This will be an important document which you would have to submit with your application. These documents would summarise more details about yourself and helps the visa officer understand you better. It is a document that would speak for you in your absence. Just like an in-person interview is conducted at the US embassy for prospective students. For Canada, your letter of explanation does the speaking . The link below will guide you on important points that should be included in your letter of explanation or statement of purpose. You can conclude this with wordings that " you understand your responsibility as a student" and develop on that. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents.html. Also, please go through the below thread to guide you on more information : https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part Credit to Luckymama and justwise. Yes, you can submit your student copy as long as your school registrar stamps it. All the best. |
Fisayo6:Don't worry; the decision mail will drop; you don't need to do anything now. Just wait and hope for the best, and by God's grace, it would be PPR. |
Berle:Hi Berle, you have not yet accepted my mail request sent through your moniker. I have resent again just for the benefit of the doubt, or you can send a request through my moniker. Apologies for the inconvenience. |
jeffdaniel:Hi Jeff, You need to transmit the documents to IRCC electronically. Remember the process you took when you initially submitted your application, and you clicked next to make payment and signed electronically with your name before submitting your application. You would need to follow that same process to transmit it to IRCC. The only difference here is that you are not making any payment. Once you do that, the status on your additional document section on your GC key would change to acknowledge receipt of your document. All the best. |
Berle:God bless you, Berle. I have sent you a message through your moniker. You can check your e-mail. |
OlaqR:I am sorry about the temporary delay on your application for a study permit. I am glad you are giving it a fighting spirit. You would be surprised when your GCMS notes arrive; it might not reflect any loophole in your application as you would have done everything right. Refusals from what I have seen so far do not mean you have not done the right thing and have not packaged your application very well. The God factor and luck play a role. These visa officers often make decisions based on their discretion, especially when your application is reviewed by a visa officer who does not know much about the Nigerian market, culture, and our ways of life. I wish everyone still awaiting a positive decision, and to those who got refusals, remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. Don't let it cross your mind ever to give up. It will end in praise. |
Good morning Guys, Please do we have any WhatsApp group for Nigerian finance professionals for aspiring CPA and CFA in Canada? Kindly let me know if there is one, would love to join. Regards, |

This looks like a Procedural Fairness Letter and not a ban, so there is still hope to put things right. You can contact makano through his moniker to guide you. No need to panic as you have not committed any misrepresentation since your application was handled by an agent. The IRCC just needs an explanation with your payment that's all. You need to be in the right frame of mind to respond to them and close it asap. All the best. |
Naheem4real:Sorry about the temporary delay, I am sure you will get it next time; some things to note: * The testing microphone you did, as you stated in your message, might have harmed your application. What you should have done if you don't want to go through the NSE route was an official letter of explanation on why you don't want NSE and informing them officially to process through regular channels. Anyway, lessons learnt. * Does the reasons stated in their refusal letter make any sense to you? If not, please apply for your GCMS notes to get a deeper view of the specific reasons for the visa immigration officer. * Pending when your GCMS note arrives, you can do some internal housekeeping by booking and writing the IETLS that is if you don't have a test result yet and prepare to submit mybankstatement certificate in your next application. That will fasten your application in the aspect of NSE. * Pay part of your tuition fee if you have not yet done so to address their concerns on tuition fee, and if you already did that, point their mistake to them in your next application with documentary proof (re-attaching the tuition receipts) * Are you applying with your family? Consider applying alone and use your family as home ties. You can await contributions from the gurus in the house. All the best |
Lizabeth36:As a student, your study permit entitles you to work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. You can work overtime up to 40 hours per week during scheduled breaks (i.e. semester holidays) as long as you are registered and enrolled as a full-time student. But please note that you must commence classes before you start working. Working before resumption will be violating your study permit conditions. I hope I have addressed your concerns. |
Lizabeth36:Please, don't try that route. That would be a violation of your study permit conditions, and you may lose your student status, which would most likely affect your immigration records. The trouble does not worth it. The Designated Learning Institutions (DLI)normally do a compliance reporting of the academic enrollment status of their international students to IRCC. Their record would show you have not reported to your school for studies. |
SweetJJ:Review Required -means the case analyst has flagged an item for review based on the documents submitted on file, which would need a more thorough investigation. This is concluded on time for some applicants, while others may take longer depending on the item or documents flagged. That is why sometimes applicants are asked to send an updated bank statement (not necessarily an NSE request) or provide another copy of a particular document submitted or might be an employer they want to contact directly. Recommend Interview - means a Case Analyst has reviewed the documents on file, specifically every item based on criteria for eligibility. They put their comments and pass them on to a Senior Officer who is always very experienced for a secondary review and final verdict (Approval or Refusal). The comments of this senior or experienced officer are always noted close to the last page of the GCMS note. |
