wildchild1: Congrats once again, what do you mean by the bold statement? Do you mean the border officer can issue a study permit longer than the one stated on the approved letter people always get when their application was approved? Would the officer have also issued a work permit if you had said yes to working part-time? I think the CBSA officer was just using psychology on him in asking those questions to see if he is really genuine, and he passed the test with a smart response. It is part of their job to do that to enable them to detect the intention of an immigrant. |

kelvine95: Good morning everyone, I got my PPR this morning. This is my 2nd application, having been initially refused dec 2020 on financial status and personal assets, and family ties.
Timeline:
Applied feb 10th (there was no need for biometrics since it was 2nd time application)
Eligibility review started feb 17th
Got my gcms notes April 19th and the pre-assessment stated that I was going for a course that didn’t align with my undergraduate course of study and career as a Data Scientist. Also highlighted that I was being “funded by a professor” and that my family didn’t look well established. Anyway, I gave up as I had other opportunities. Through encouragement from different persons, I sent a short email and also raised a webform explaining that my program was fully funded research based masters at a top University in Canada, and that it is because of my excellent undergraduate degree and my experience as a data scientist that made me a fit for the program which is actually an engineering program under the faculty of agriculture, since my research involved the intersection of engineering(electrical sensing, automation and digital communications) and data analytics. I added link to my supervisor research page, a design thinking material I had with my supervisor detailing my research work, and also ensured to point that my masters was under the department of engineering and not exactly an agricultural program, that it was applied intelligent engineering to agriculture. (my supervisor was furious when I told him what the pre-assessment said, I reported it to the international office and they said nothing could be done aside appealing like as I have done). Then, for the finance, I drew their attention to my personal fund, to the research assistantship letter from the office of the associate dean of research and to my Uncle’s financial documents. But then, my research is fully funded, so every other financial documents I added were only met to explain to them that in case of eventualities, my Uncle can quickly cover a bit of my expenses. Then for family ties, I drew their attention to my mum and late dad’s landed properties, my study leave, my pension account and also quickly chipped in the fact that my Uncle is the governor of Edo state(I added Wikipedia link) and another of my Uncle is the CMD of UBTH(added Wikipedia link). Mind you, nobody has same surname as me. All had same surname as my mum, and they are actually my mum’s cousins. The point is, I didn’t really have to submit new documents, i just resent what I sent before but this time gave very very short and clear explanation to their concerns. These guys are overwhelmed as well, so they could mistakenly not see some stuffs, and I would advice we give very concise explanation to any concerns that might be raised.
May 5th I got medical request May 25th went for the medicals and I couldn’t see clearly. I was scared. Lol. June 2nd I passed medical and I started sending webform and emails twice weekly since my application has passed 8 weeks. June 14th I got PPR and BVL.
Special thanks to justmellow, frankrobbn, Chocs and everyone that responded to my incessant emails and post here. Finally, it has ended in praise.
Please I need the information on what I need to put together for me to send my passport. Also, I want to resume in September instead of May, hope this won’t be a problem as my supervisor has agreed to this. I need y’all guidance. Thanks and God bless us all! Congratulations bro. You must be really elated. It should not be a problem resuming in September as long as you have your enrollment letter as proof you are registered for the semester. September is a good time to come to Canada as the provinces plan to ease restrictions. All the very best. |

olabisi6438: Guys
I I need help
on my international passports my middle name is Anuoluwapo on my birth cert and some documents it is Anuoluwa Immigration would recognize the name on your international passport. Therefore, your application on your GC Key should reflect it as on your passport. I assume you would have already done a change of name that explains that the middle name relates to the same person "you". Attach a copy of your newspaper publication and affidavit with your application. Also, one of the IMM forms has a question if you have a former name and another box to type the new so you state your full names there and "Anuoluwa" as former and on the new"Anuoluwapo," to clear the air on the middle name disparity. Cheers! |

ToluDstar: Thanks to everyone for the congratulatory messages, I truly appreciate y’all!! The wait wasn’t easy but we thank God for his faithfulness! I got the two emails during prayers this morning! Please never doubt God cause at some point, I began to have some doubts. Only this morning when I woke up did I regain some faith again, just before I got my PPR. This is such a wonderful birthday gift as my birthday is later this month and God just perfected everything!
LONG POST ALERT!! My journey (Omo my talk fit plenty small) I started this journey around May 2020. I wanted to go for a Masters in Accounting and finance at the University of Toronto which was what delayed me till this point. They needed a special CPA assessment for international students which included a WES ICAP evaluation. I paid for all and I carried out the assessment. The assessment was to only to know whether you are qualified to apply based on your degree/transcript. Due to our failed educational system in Nigeria, I couldn’t get course outlines for each course I did from 100L to 400L from my school which the U of T required for the assessment thereby making me unable to apply. This whole period took about 3/4 months before I knew I couldn’t even apply to start with. I went on to apply to Simon Fraser and University of Windsor. Simon Fraser answered me fast but their fees are over $50k plus they needed GMAT for me to gain admission. They sent mails every month for a while asking for my GMAT score in other to gain admission. I didn’t have the time to take GMAT because I was preparing for my ACCA exams and besides, the fees were outrageous so I just ignored Simon Fraser as well. Windsor was my bus stop. I applied and it took about 3 months before they gave me my admission for Winter 2021. I had to defer till summer/spring due to the unavailability of time to prepare documents for study permit. As at December 2020, all my documents were ready except medicals and IELTS. I booked dates for medicals and IELTS for January 2021. I did both of them and got results sharply. Due to some issues, I had to wait until February before I submitted my full application with my NSE documents. I got an application confirmation on that day and another update a day after. I didn’t do biometrics because I had applied for a visiting visa in the past so IRCC applied the same biometrics to my application. Omo the wait was long! I got a fantastic job offer during this period o and the confusion began; whether or not to forget everything about traveling and commit to working at a top investment bank for two years. I said in my mind my God doesn’t do unfinished business. I even had to start my first semester here from Nigeria and it was a bit tough but God did it. God doesn’t do half work. I kept on refreshing my mail for dayssssssss without updates. Finally, June 2, 2021 during NLP prayers, I got two updates successively. Mind you, powerful fasting and prayers had been going on personally during this period o. I am even currently fasting! Finally oooo my people, I got PPR. My application wasn’t perfect as there were lump sums left unexplained in my sponsor’s statements but God was faithful! To show you how God works and to give hope to some people, we transferred some funds to my Dad’s statements just a day or two before we did the mbs for the two accounts, although the account have solid history and they are quite buoyant.
Before I forget, about a month or two ago, I contacted the parliament members in Windsor and they really helped as they contacted ircc on my behalf and also sent their correspondence to me. That was how I knew my application was being handled in Nairobi. For about 10 days now, I had sent emails and webforms to Nairobi informing them that I already commenced classes and I pleaded with them to speed up my application process. I also ordered my GCMS notes on May 17 but I guess I won’t be needing that anymore lol. All in all, I received the favour of God guys. Thanks to all the gurus in the house for always responding to all our questions and concerns (Justmellow, Frankrobbn, Lekkiboboe) and everybody else, may God continue to uplift you guys. @Teenie19 and marcelonwa, I dey wait for una PPRs too plus everybody else waiting for PPR, God will favour us all by his Grace.
DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED: * STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (TWO PAGES EXPLAINING WHY I’D RETURN TO NIGERIA) * BIRTH CERTIFICATE * ALL ACADEMIC CERTIFICATES TILL DATE * NYSC CERTIFICATE * ALL PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS ACQUIRED (THEY WERE ALL RELATED TO MY COURSE) * CURRICULUM VITAE * LETTER OF SPONSORSHIP ON SPONSOR’S COMPANY LETTERHEAD * CAC DOCUMENTS * MEMAT (MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION) * AFFIDAVIT FOR CORRECTION OF NAME ERROR IN CAC DOCUMENTS * AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR SPONSOR’S COMPANY. * RECEIPT OF SEMESTER PAYMENT (10,655 CAD). * IELTS - GENERAL * UPFRONT MEDICALS * MYBANKSTATEMENT - TWO TICKET IDs FOR 6 MONTHS EACH. * SPONSOR’S LAND DOCUMENTS AND CERTIFICATES OF OCCUPANCY FOR TWO LANDS OWNED BY SPONSOR.
God did it guys! Goodluck to everyone else seeking PPR, God will make his face shine upon everybody in this house ijn I no dey commot this thread sha as you guys helped a whole lot, we gather dey!
TIMELINE: Application submission: February 4, 2021. Application in process: February 5, 2021. I don remember when exactly my eligibility review started/when my medicals turned to passed. Didn’t get NSE request as I submitted all documents upfront. Contacted Kusmierczyk Irek, a member of parliament on April 13, 2021. Got a reply that same day and was told to fill some forms. They didn’t get back to me until May 4, when they sent the correspondence with the visa office in Nairobi. This reply was quite detailed and different from the usual generic replies we always get. I started sending emails and webforms to Nairobi from May 17, 2021 (the same day I ordered for my GCMS notes). I got some generic responses about my application being under active review and all of that but I didn’t stop sending webforms.
BVL: June 2, 2021; 7:28am PPR: June 2, 2021; 7:32am
Goodluck to everyone waiting for PPR once again and to those that were delayed, please do not give up as God will definitely crown your efforts with success.
Cheers. Reading your story, I can see the passion and drive for excellence. You will obviously do well in Canada. Big congrats!!! |

Teenie19: I'm looking once again at the previous GCMS note I ordered, and I noticed that under the study permit section, it states "compliance verification- required". Please what does this mean and did anyone notice this in their note? School is sheridan college..@ gurus, pls help Hello Teenie 19, The compliance verification requirement is a program that the Canadian government introduced in 2014 to strengthen the Canadian immigration programme, especially as it relates to international students. One of the core objectives is to ensure that study permit holders actively pursue their studies and facilitate entry for those who truly want a Canadian education but not using the study permit route to immigrate for a different agenda. The Designated learning institution is supposed to submit a compliance verification request on the DLI portal as required by IRCC. This simply means that DLI reports on the enrollment status of their international students twice a year. IRCC sends a request to the DLI, and the DLI has a statutory time limit which they are required to respond to such request So to address your question, IRCC awaits a response from your school. I hope this helps. |

childgodly: Oh okay thank you. For this country-by-country information sharing, do I have to include visas? Because I got a new passport literally the week before I submitted my application so there are no visas in it. I declared the countries I’ve been to in the form, but didn’t include scanned copies of the visas. Also am I meant to include countries I stayed in transit? For example, I once got a 48 hour visa or something like that because my hotel was outside the airport and the layover was long. Thank you! Hi childgodly, The country-by-country means that Canada has set countries that are considered as migration partners. ...i.e. the United States. United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. These countries share information on bio-data, biometrics, and fingerprints on applicants who intend to gain access into their country to determine any criminal record or any form of inadmissibility offence. Like Canada sends to other countries, the United States also sends to Canada and the likes. Secondly, I think you have done the most important aspect of declaring the countries you have been on the IMM form; they have a way of tracking it; since you forgot to include the visa with your application, I don't think there is any negative effect. So the important thing is what you declared. No, I don't think you need to include the transit as you only transited that country to your final destination. You can await more contributions from other honourable members. |

childgodly: Hello, Is a background check supposed to start immediately after applying? Yes, background check starts immediately after you submit your application; that is why the first request from IRCC when applications are submitted is a Biometrics Collection letter with instructions to go for biometrics. They need the data gotten from the biometrics for the country-by-country information sharing for further reviews and checks on the applicant's admissibility. |

shawn55ng: Gurus in the house,
Please help me review this SOP if it is okay and convincing.
A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF MYSELF
My name is Sola Odeyale, a banker from Lagos, Nigeria. I am a graduate of Economics from one of the best University in Nigeria- Lagos State University. I finished in 2009 and thereafter I secured a banking job in Oceanic Bank Plc which was later acquired by my present employer Ecobank Nigeria Ltd in 2013. I have worked in different capacities as a banker from being a marketer to customer service officer handling customers' complaints on mobile application and internet banking.
WHY I BELIEVE IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ME TO FURTHER MY EDUCATION DESPITE HAVING ACQUIRED SOME EDUCATION SO FAR
It is well known that education is the bedrock of all nations and learning new things has always been part of me. I am challenged with the limited human skills in mobile application development in my country and increase in demand for their services which arouse my interest in this course. Also my love for IT especially in the field of mobile application development and how it can be used to reduce the level of poverty in the society via training and empowering the youths has made me to opt for it. Being a graduate of Economics with many years of working experience in banking i believe I am equipped and matured to explore new world of knowledge and build myself to the peak of information technological world most especially mobile application development.
WHY I CHOSE THIS PARTICULAR COURSE
My love for mobile application development was wayback my days in learning computer studies in my local community coupled with the unit i was privileged to handle in my place of work that exposes me more in the field of mobile application usage and development.
It is no more news that the world is now a global village and the dynamics of doing business are rapidly changing very fast with many companies moving from physical structure to digital world. It is projected that in some years to come machines will replace human beings in the work environment which can only be possible through Information Technology. Therefore, it is pertinent to strategically reposition myself for the future task in order to be relevant in the society at large.
Furthermore, the shortage of genuine experts in this field and equally high demand for mobile application developers in Nigeria with rising cases of companies springing up everyday with high demand for mobile application presence has necessitated my desire to study this course in order to train and retrain our youth back home, consult for companies, financial institutions, small scale businesses and also establish my own MOBILE TRAINING CENTER in Nigeria where i have projected to train more than 5million Nigerians in the next 10 years. This will be my only way of giving back to the society and contributing in my own little way to my beloved country in order to reduce the level of poverty and create wealth and skills among our teaming youth.
WHY I BELIEVE IT IS BETTER TO STUDY THIS COURSE IN CANADA.
My desire to study in Canada has been my long time dream being one of the best destinations for Information Technology. Canada harbors one of the best educational institutions in the world with a diverse culture of unity, value for life and enriching quality of national life.
This is evidence in the way different people from diverse backgrounds all over the world in pursuit of a world class education in Canada.
Canada is lovely, peaceful and accommodating with a low level of crime rate among other countries as the level of insecurity and industrial action in my country Nigeria is increasing every day. This has made 1 year academic program to be completed in 3 to 4 years sometimes due to industrial action which made me to opt for Canada.
WHY I CHOSE THIS PARTICULAR INSTITUTE
My choice of choosing Cambrian College is borne out of my love to study from a well recognized college that can impact and add value to me.
The college is among the best top 10,000 Colleges in the world with an exceptional learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds.
Another captivating attraction to the College is the way they support foreign students right from the point of admission to the point of graduation. The College plays host to students from different countries while still being able to give personalized focused academic experience.
In my quest for a Canadian institute that is exceptionally good and stand out among equals, recognized all over the world with a knowledge filled research center, Cambrian College stands out which prompted me to opt for it among others.
HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE ME TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM
This program is going to run for duration of One year. I intend to complete this program within the specified period and then return to my country to fulfill my dreams as earlier stated.
WHETHER I AM FLUENT IN ENGLISH
English is the official language in my country. I am very proficient in speaking, reading, writing and also understand English. All the education I have acquired was taught in English. It has been part of me right from birth.
PROOF THAT I HAVE SUFFICIENT FUND TO STUDY IN CANADA WITHOUT SEEKING FOR AN EMPLOYMENT
Attached is my statement as proof of my financial capability to take care of all my financial obligations during the period of my study in Canada without any recourse to public funds. Besides, my organization is expected to pay me some huge sum of money as my long service benefits/gratuity allowance in case I apply to resign my current job to further my studies.
I also attached a reference letter from my bank vouching for my financial credibility.
Furthermore, I have also paid my first semester course fees therefore I will not find any financial difficulty during my study.
Lastly the inflow of funds in my accounts are evidence of my consistence savings built over a long period which I have invested in buying used vehicles, generators and other obsolete items sold by my organization to staff at low prices. I have made some reasonable profits from these purposes and intend to make use of it as part of my savings to finance my studies in Canada and upkeep for my family.
PROOF THAT I HAVE FAMILY TIE IN NIGERIA THAT WILL MAKE ME RETURN.
I intend to come back home after my studies to practice the knowledge I have acquired in Canada and ensure i pursue my goal of training our youth back home on mobile application via my mobile application center i intend to establish.
Also both my immediate and extended family are in Nigeria and the bond we share together is very strong that I need to reunite with them after my program. My wife is currently engaged as the CEO of her personal company. Therefore, she will assist to provide financial support for our children when I am away.
My aspiration and goal of setting up a learning center to train our youth back home on mobile application development can only be achieved if I am on ground to make it a reality after my studies.
I believe the information I have provided is adequate and detailed enough for the purpose of this study permit. However, should you need further clarification or enquiry from me i am always available to answer your question.
Thank you. The information on your statement of purpose should be private to you. It is better to contact any of the gurus privately to help review this for you than posting publicly here. I would have loved to help but may not give that quality time to review your work due to lots of coursework in school. You have made some reasonable effort but can be improved upon as noted below; (1) Grammarly is a handy software tool that can help to polish your statement of purpose much better and even scan for text and grammatical mistakes that you might not even notice. Google Grammarly and read more about it. (2) Brief History of Yourself -Highlight critical accomplishments in your workplace that relate to mobile work development and perhaps promotions, if any, in your present job. (3) Proof of Funds See the bolded under the proof of funds - Reg flag! Again, don't give the VO the impression you intend to resign. These are the three I spotted based on my glance; you would need to liaise with any of the gurus to help you review this. Please don't post your SOP publicly here again. All the best. |

Thanks. Management and business programmes in Canada are not cheap. chicaO2: Hello my people o! Abeg help me with this puzzle. I applied for study visa on May 15th but yesterday evening I got an provincial NOI from the same province I got admission.
So, i'm about to do upfront medicals and biometrics (as required for study permit) on Thurday which also requires updating the study visa application once done.
1. Should I update the SV application with the medicals and Biometrics once done? 2. Will the study visa application affect my chances of federal ITA or conflict it in any way? 3. If YES, Should I withdraw my study visa application now and wait for federal ITA?
I'm following avidly as I have just 1 day to medicals. Thanks in advance. Good evening; while you await a response from honourable members of this thread, you can also post your question on the Canada Student Visa thread to get a faster response from members more knowledgeable on immigration matters. But my own take relates to guidance by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act on Dual intent. "An intention by a foreign national to become a permanent resident does not preclude them from becoming a temporary resident if the officer is satisfied that they will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for their stay" extract from the relevant section of IRPA https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/i-2.5/section-22.html.So I think each applicant receives the benefit of a procedurally fair, individual assessment as long as they can satisfy the reviewing officers (VO) and meet all the Immigration and Refugees Protection Act and Regulations requirements. I am inclined to believe you may not need to withdraw your study visa application given the above. This is my own view; you can await more contributions from other members then you make your decision. I wish you success. |

hertzz: Please oooooh, I need a response from the guru's in the house.
Must someone travel immediately after receiving a Study Permit? No, for a student visa, you do not need to travel immediately, but the immigration would always state the time frame in which you must enter Canada. This is always indicated in the letter of introduction. Also, based on the current pandemic, you would not be compelled to travel immediately since students are permitted to study online till December 2021 outside of Canada and still be eligible for PWGP. see link for more info https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/students.htmlRegards,

ozone00001: Ok thanks, how will I tackle " the proposed studies do not seem like a reasonable expense when compared to local options."
" Document submitted submitter show some funds seem available, but there are concerns that third party funds would be sufficient and available for the whole course." This means the visa officer was not well convinced when he/she read your statement of purpose. That is one of the first documents they read to have an overall view of the applicant. It is almost the replica of having a visa interview with the VO at the US embassy. The difference with Canada is you have to document all your defence and motivations on paper. Also, third-party funds mean the amount given to you either by parents, siblings, relatives etc. The area to look out for to re-address is your study plan (why you want to study your proposed course in Canada and not Nigeria and considering the same course available in Nigeria universities. What value would this add to you, and how relevant would that be to your plan after your studies. You might also want to speak to the current pandemic that has made it possible for students to study online without any need to travel, so you might want to address why you have to travel to Canada despite the current reality. e.g. A clue that you can address is the poor internet bandwidth, irregular power supply, the difference in time zones, as the need to have access to a more conducive environment in Canada to study. The visa officer also has concerns with the finances- I think @Spectro has done a lot of justice in explaining how to tackle finances. I would not want to over-flog this aspect. Still, you need to revisit your SOP vis-a-vis the supporting documents you submitted to guide you in wording your letter of explanation to address the loopholes and don't forget the God factor in all these. Put it all in prayer. All the best! |

sleekcheek: Please, is it advisable to buy a cheap laptop in Nigeria with the option of upgrading to a better laptop when I get to Canada? I want to know if I can get a good laptop over there and pay monthly It has advantages on both sides. For example, if you get a laptop from Nigeria, you get the advantage of getting one at a lower price, but you would have to pay some amount of dollars for its repair in Canada if it gets faulty. On the flip side, if you buy over here in Canada, though you pay more considering the exchange rate, you have protection/warranty for the product. Walmart stores sell their electronic items relatively cheaply compared to other stores, so I would say you try Walmart. You would find Walmart stores in any province in Canada. Regarding paying for the product monthly, I am not so sure about that, except you already have a credit history here; that option might not be available for you for now since you would still be new in the country. This is my own sincere view. |

Emmyzdon: Good day Nairalanders...
Congratulations to everyone who have gotten PPR this week.
Please I submitted my application on April 20,2021 and did biometrics on April 23, 2021. I observed on my profile that I have been given a biometrics identity number and also d date I did the biometrics was also captured. But on the part of the biometrics it is still showing I have message, instead of it to indicate biometrics updated. Has anybody encountered such pls? I have attached a screenshot Don't worry, it would eventually be updated to "Biometrics Completed". When you go for biometrics, your fingerprints and iris recognition is captured. The agency also uses this data for the background check they carry out on applicants. It would eventually be updated later. It would end in praise. |

dyce101: Good evening guys, please I need more light on this I submitted my application April 27th 2021 tho I did my biometric nov 2019 I don’t know why my status is not changing You would not see any update for now because you just submitted and your application is still at the preliminary stage. Although, the agency is already running a background check on you and I think this aspect takes some time as your information would be shared with other countries to screen you to be sure there is no form of offence, crime or other material facts that can result in any form of inadmissibility. Try to take your mind off it for a while and be hopeful for positive progress on your application. It will end in praise for you. |

Ruthbella: Our God is faithful. Congratulations bro. I applied on 9th December,Biometrics 14th December 2020. Im still waiting for PPR. The wait time is emotionally draining. I agree. Draining and scary most times. Try to distract your mind from it with other activity or you may want to apply for your GCMS note to give you an insight into the progress of your application. It will end in praise for you. |

Ysakaws1: PPR JUST DROPPED!
My application journey is quite interesting, and I promised to share here if I get a PPR. So firstly, I applied using an agent. As a matter of fact, I got admission using one agent, and got the visa using another agent. My application made me come to the conclusion that using an agent is truly not worth it. Imagine that I paid 300k just to get a PGD admission in University of Winnipeg. Bygone, anyways - lucky agent. After my admission, I switched to another agent because my Dad, who previously didn’t show interest, decided to be involved. The second agent came through my dad (he paid the agent 250k or so) - he was recommended by my uncle. I gave him the LOA I paid 300k for, and he requested me to write my LOE. I was able to write a good LOE with the help of Google, and of course, Nairaland. I am sure you are wondering what exactly this agent was paid to do, if both LOA and LOE came from me. Me sef dey wonder lol.
APPLIED - DECEMBER 7 BIOMETRICS - DECEMBER 8
Na where wahala start be this. The whole journey was mentally exhausting. This agent fit make person crase with obvious lies and pretense. Want to make this as short as possible, so let me just drop one example. The agent was supposed to have applied long before the time he did. So we pressured him till he lied and made a fake medical request letter. In his own letter, the medical has to be done in 90 days, instead of the usual 30 days. Note that biometrics had not been done then oh. He also gave us fake biometrics appointment letter one time, and when the day came, he said IRCC has technical issues, and he would have to book another date. Basically, my whole journey with this agent was filled with altercations and mistrust. It got to a point, all we wanted was access to the portal, but this agent was giving stories like he didn’t know the password offhand, and he would find it. Moving on...
ORDERED GCMS - MARCH 27
Fast forward to April ending, I hadn’t heard anything from this agent. Was checking this thread regularly and seeing even January applicants receive PPR. I decided to message this agent to remind him. This was when the agent logged into my portal and saw that I got medical request 8 days before.
MEDICAL REQUEST - APRIL 14
Finally, he was confident about the application, and dropped the login details even without asking him.
MEDICALS DATE - APRIL 27
I was eager to get the PPR, and was checking my portal like every hour after I did the medicals. On the morning of April 29, I opened my portal, GUESS WHAT I SAW? Booooom! Procedural Fairness Letter - I wanted to faint even before opening the PFL.
PROCEDURAL FAIRNESS - April 29
I opened the PFL, and what I saw was that the VO has concerns that my Dad’s statement of account is not genuine. I am to prove that it is genuine in 15 days, or I get 5 years ban. I was destabilized and scared to the bone. A lot ran through my mind in milliseconds.“ Could it be that this guy used a fake SOA, instead of the one we gave him?” “Could it be that he altered some transactions?” Picked up the phone to call this agent, and for like 2 hours, his number was switched off. I started feeling like he already saw the PFL, and was on the run.
Finally, we reached him, and he assured us that he used the SOA we gave him. He told us to go to the bank for MBS, and give IRCC a SOA that shows transactions till the date of the PFL. We did that immediately, but how could I trust someone who once gave us fake medical request and biometrics appointment letter?
I became restless since that minute I saw the PFL, and even after submitting MBS, I couldn’t still sleep or do anything. I was literally checking my portal uncountable times in a day.
MEDICAL PASSED - MAY 1
This should have been an update that would have made me rest assured of finally leaving this Nigeria, but I remained unhappy and restless because of the PFL.
GCMS NOTE RECEIVED - MAY 3
Finally, GCMS note came in yesterday night before I slept. Saw that everything has been passed. I also saw that instructions have been given that I get a study permit till 2023. Lastly, it was in the GCMS note that IRCC had messaged my Dad’s bank to confirm if the SOA is genuine, and they got response from the bank that it is genuine. This happened since the beginning of April.
THEN WHY ON EARTH DID IRCC GIVE ME PFL ON APRIL 29 Shaey IRCC dey whyne me ni
The more I thought about the whole issue, the more it becomes obscure. I search Google tire to see if anybody don face the same issue before, but I no see anything.
To God be the glory sha, I opened my portal 12pm today, and I saw ORIGINAL PASSPORT REQUEST! Booomshakalaka!!!!
Till now, I can’t explain what happened concerning that PFL thing, but I just thank God. I no even wan understand again sef lol. Thanks to everyone doing a good job here. You all will be forever appreciated.
CORRESPONDENCE LETTER & PPR - MAY 4 This was interesting to read. All is history now. Congrats!!! |

UpcomingCanadia: [img][/img] I'm a ghost reader here and I've been following this thread for a while now... please I plan to reapply what should I do now to address the VO's issue. I applied through an agent and he said the reasons are baseless that I should reapply...it's for a bachelor's degree at Cape Breton island I'm 18 years old. Thanks Sorry about the temporary delay in your application. Please try to blur out your name on this screenshot document and I noticed you did not properly hide your UCI and application number. I noticed you tried to blur out the information but it is still looking obvious. I would suggest you be careful about these agents, trust me, you can do this on your own, it may look tasking initially but as you go along asking questions and gathering documents, you will be surprised you can even do much better than these agents. Some of these agents are money-driven and not performance-driven so they charge you heavily and do not add much value. The first step is to apply for your GCMS notes to enable you to get an insight into the VO comments that lead to the refusal to enable you to tackle this in your next application and explain it clearly in your letter of explanation. Please do not rush to re-apply, take your time to do it right before making the move to re-apply again. All the very best. |

Zodiacwarrior: Can anyone please help me answer this thanks alot. You can write to IRCC to ask for their opinion. You can just paint the scenario to them so it looks like you are asking a general question. This question is better answered by someone versed on immigration matters so you don't take the wrong steps. Additionally, every university does have an immigration advisor in the international student's office. You can find out the contact of this office in your school and get their professional opinion. As per the Canada immigration record, you are supposed to resume in Manitoba so it is best to get clear answers before leaving Nigeria so you can plan your move wisely. |
