Pls whats BVL?
It is called the Biometric Validation Letter(BVL) which contains information on your biometrics. This letter drops on the GC key account of the applicant before the decision letter ( Approval or Refusal) drops.

A biometric validation letter (BVL) is an indication that a decision has been made on the applicant file and he/she should be expecting this decision letter to drop soon. i.e for some the decision letter comes with the BVL for some others it takes some days after BVL drops.

Guys please, what's the difference between LOI and Counterfoil. How do you recognize them? Are they sent to the email or to GC key
Letter of introduction is a letter officially sent to the successful applicant by IRCC informing them that their application to study in Canada has been approved. It is also a letter introducing the person to the Border Services Agency in Canada who would receive this letter and issue you a study permit. This letter mostly drops on the GC key account after the official passport has been stamped.

Counterfoil is a confirmation to a successful applicant that IRCC has stamped the Canadian visa on their respective official passport and this always reflects on the GC Key account.

How about credits? The balance in my account after submission has increased. Would i need to clarify the deposits now that I have been asked to submit mybankstatement
This is normal. it shows the account is active. There is nothing to worry about, just submit your mybankstatement. There is no need to provide an explanation except you feel there is any irregularity in the account or lump sum deposits that need to be explained.

Good day gurus in the house.

I applied for study permit since October 13th. I still haven't received a decision yet. I requested for my GCMS notes about a month ago and I received them today. I can't find any notes by the visa officer on it. This is the screenshot of the assessment section and I don't know what "recommend interview" means.

Also it looks like the notes section was covered or something.

Gurus in the house please help
Your application is moving in the right direction.

The meaning of Recommend Interview means the Case processing agent ( visa officer) reviewing your file has passed it on to a Senior Visa Officer to review and give his/her final verdict.

Keep praying and hopefully, it comes with approval.

It will end in praise.

Has anyone here been successful using bank statements not from "mybankstatement"huh, and also do they expect the statement have to reflect through the 6month and 12month periodhuh
In addition to @ deommanuel response, you can also attach a response letter addressed to the Deputy High Commission of Canada.

Indicate in your letter that First Bank of Nigeria Limited is not on the my bankstatement platform reason you are submitting an official stamped copy.

So on the letter, you can just itemize concisely what you are attaching and merge everything in one single document and submit as instructed in the IRCC letter.

Otunbetee has already clarified your enquiry regarding 6 to 12 months.

All the best.

I’m sure the line will be a hot line as many people will be trying to call at the same time. I will advice you try it like midnight so that possibly traffic would have reduced a bit.

Unfortunately they can only be reached on that line. I don’t think there is provision for any other way to get them.

Keep trying I’m sure you will get them.
Thanks Yteem, i will try that out. I hope they streamline the process of booking these hotels on time.

Why not go to the website of the hotel listed and check for their customer service Email where you can send them the necessary information you need to ask am sure they will respond and help with the booking and how to go about the process!!!
Thanks @ Awys but unfortunately, you cannot book by contacting the hotel directly, everyone has to book via the government-designated phone line published on their website.

Hello House,

Is there anyone who has been able to book one of the government-designated hotels for the 3 days quarantine? Please share your experience of how you went about this.

I have tried to call the phone line 1-800-294-8253. published on the CIC website. Each time I call, it puts me in the queue and goes on for more than an hour without an agent attending to me.

I would really appreciate the feedback from someone who has successfully booked one of the hotels.

Hello, please was it the exact amount of money you had as proof funds that you used for your NSE? I have been asked to submit documents for NSE but I already moved the funds from my account to another account, so I don't know if I could transfer the money back or I should just ignore the NSE thing.
I submitted my mybankstatement certificate exactly the way it was when the request came in from IRCC and yes almost exactly the same money,

The decision is up to you if you want to respond or ignore IRCC request and allow your application to follow the normal processing channel.

Should in case you want to follow the NSE route, I would advise you not to move funds for now as this would be flagged by the visa officer when they see inflow and outflow of lumpsum transactions. Please submit my bankstatement certificate for both bank statements and attach a one-page official letter to explain the movement of funds. I almost also wanted to move funds when I got the NSE request but my bankers' advised me not to try it and submit the statement the way it is.

I wish you success in your application.

Hi guys,

I just got a second rejection from ircc, I was about to make payment for the winter session 2021 when I got the news as shown below;

Please note, they never requested for any documents or IELTS from me.

• Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more: your qualifications,
previous studies, level of establishment, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans.

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of
residence.

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

This was the reason for rejection from the first application in September 22 below;

Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and
available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or
program of studies that you intend to pursue.

• Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and
available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family
members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study

@Justwise and other gurus. Your help and guidance is needed here.
Sorry about the temporary delay on your application. The reasons given in their decision letter are always generic as they are quoting the relevant section of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act that relates to their concerns on your file so you would need to order for your GCMS notes to see the specific concern of the visa officer that worked on your file.

I noticed the remark that is reoccurring in your first and second applications is the concern of the VO on home ties to your home country. If you are applying with your family, you may want to apply alone so you can use them as additional home ties then they join you later but first apply for your GCMS notes to see the specifics first.

All the best.

Please what is the meaning of NSE request letter.
The NSE is an abbreviation meaning "Nigerian Student Express" so the NSE request letter is a letter IRCC sends to applicants telling them they may be qualified for the Nigerian Student Express based on IRCC review of their submitted applications. Please see more explanation in the link below.

Good day to gurus on this loop,  @lekkiboboe
@olasubomy @otunbaTee @frankrobbn1

I would love to hear your opinion on my application process, I applied on the 1st of December 2020 (study visa) (No upfront medical) but during the process of applying I didn't upload any documents on optional documents. So same day a friend of mine says I should raise a webform which I did.

I used the webform to send my landed property, business registration document, statement of purpose and the institution school fees receipt... after three weeks IRCC sent me a mail that those documents has been received and it has been sent down to my visa processing center which is Nairobi Kenya and am expecting IRCC to update it on my account which they didn't do.

Ever since then I haven't received any feedback from them although my application just reached 2 months and 1 week plus

Please I need your opinion...
Thanks.
Hi Officialksolo,

You are not seeing any update on your GC account ( optional section) of your submitted application reason being that the medium of submission of the additional documents was via webform and not your GC key account since you would not have been able to submit via your GC account portal once the application is submitted except IRCC sends a mail requesting for these additional documents. The way forward was to send these via a web form which you have rightly done.

There is no cause for alarm since IRCC has sent you a confirmation e-mail that the documents have been sent to the visa processing center in Nairobi Kenya. You just have to be patient and wait for the next update from IRCC.

You can plan to do an upfront medical as a means to speed up your application or you await and hope to receive a medical request from IRCC. This is solely at your own discretion.

I hope this clarifies.

It would end in praise.

Tony1900:
My major concern is the amount left on the account immediately after printing the statement. So what are my chances and what am I suppose to do now in response to the letter from IRCC without complicating issues any further, please?
My understanding of your question is that you are concerned of your present account balance especially after generating mybankstatement.

If my understanding of your question is correct, I don't think you should bother about the balance in your account and even if there is a charge, won't be that material. The visa officer already has some knowledge of your account balance, what they are reviewing now is the integrity of the account you have presented.

You are not going to be complicating any issue, just follow strictly the instruction of IRCC as stated in their letter. I suggested you liaise with your bank to support in sending the mybankstatement certificate on your behalf to the embassy because it involved an alleged case of fraud which comes with a risk of a 5-year ban so It would be nice if you can get the bank to send the mybankstatement on your behalf. They may just require you to write an instruction letter to that effect which should not be a problem.

You can then do a further e-mail based on my earlier explanation once the bank gives you confirmation they have sent it to the embassy.

I know this would give you some anxiety and some panic but just try to be as calm as possible and don't be too hard on yourself. Approach your branch and try to get the audience of a senior officer if you cant get your account officer quickly and let them know the urgency of the letter since you just have 7 days.

It would end in praise by God's grace.

Tony1900:
I just saw this IRCC and I am in dire need of help please.
Hi Tony, you have nothing to worry about if you are innocent of their allegations.

I would suggest you visit your branch immediately and speak with your account officer or a senior official of the branch.

Appeal to them to send my bank statement` certificate on your behalf ( with one-year banking history) to the embassy and to the e-mail address they have instructed in their letter quoting your UCI and application number. The IRCC would have some comfort if this comes from an official of the bank directly.

You can also on your own part get a reference letter from the bank and respond to IRCC with a copy of the mybankstatement certificate and the reference letter and then write a concise response e-mail that you are writing in response to the IRCC letter dated XXXX and attaching a copy of the mybankstatement and reference letter for their attention in accordance to the IRCCrequest and also inform them that a copy has also been sent to IRCC officially by your bank and also state the date.

But try to get your bank to send the mybankstatement certificate to the embassy first.

It will end in praise.
