Billyonaire: State Police will be the beginning of true Confederacy in our Nationhood. I do not agree that we are not mature enough because Politicians will use police to hunt their opposition. Even if Politicians want to use Police against themselves, who fvcking cares ? The lesser the number of politicians, the better the system will function. State Police will be excellent, and it should be experimented in Lagos as a pilot state.
At last...

Govt spending Billions of Naira every year transfering policemen & their family from one part of the country to another is WRONG.The NEGATIVE effects of this policy on police children are enormous.
Whereas, under state police, govt need not spend a kobo to accommodate police officers & their families.

If Lagos State Govt says NO to reckless driving towards oncoming vehicles, then it's NO. If you don't like it, then go to your village or better still Zamfara where you won't have to go to jail. All you need to sacrifice is one of your arms.

For your information, after the first offence, it's three years jail without fine...

Seun: If the punishment does not fit the crime, it is not justice. 1 year jail term does not fit this crime, and that's all there is to it.
When we read about Shariaists stoning girls for getting pregnant, we are indignant, because even though it works, it's not just.
The solution to petty crimes is not to make the punishment unreasonable and wicked, but to enforce reasonable penalties consistently.
BIG SHAME on you for saying these cra.p. undecided So based on your own thinking, the LSG should wait for him to kill innocent people before they act. I want to believe that you've stepped out of Nigeria before. Can you drive towards upcoming vehicles because you are in a hurry in London or New York? Even if you are the Mayor of the city you dare not! But because it's Lagos, anything 'goes'. BIG SHAME on you.

Teacher:Who can fire a minister for been clueless & under-performing?

Student: The President

Teacher: Clap for yourself

Student: claps (pa pa, pa pa pa, pa)

Teacher:Who is the current president of Nigeria?

Student: GEJ

Teacher: Correct. Who is the Minister for Power?

Student: GEJ

Teacher: Correct. Now, if the new Minister for Power(GEJ) fails to deliver, who will fire him?

Student: GEJ

Teacher: Correct. Now, you'll agree with me that, if the President fires the Minister of Power, he automatically fires himself as the president, Yes or No?

Student: Yes sir.

Teacher: Now, who will take over from the president? Remember, when Yaradua (RIP) died, Turai took over?

Student: Sir,according to Nigeria's constitution Section 419, sub-section 2019, Madam Patience Ebele Jonathan will become the president of the F.R.N

Teacher: Correct, that's my boy. See you tomorrow.

Shut your big trap Mr. Foolish man. You destroyed all what could have been your greatest achievements as a president, the day you impose the sick Yaradua & incompetent GEJ on us, all for your selfish reasons.

I hope you are happy and smiling and 'dey kampe' with all what is happening in the country, 95% of which is caused by you.

TravelRe: Aviation-Minister Blocks Foreign Airlines From Abuja by olivertwist: 3:55pm On Aug 28, 2012
I think I understand the minister's point of view. There's every need to protect indigenous airlines from these foreign airlines. This is what UK,US, France,Holland etc do.

If Enugu airport is indeed ready, govt can make a kind of law for all foreign airlines to atleast have one airline that operates from Enugu.

I was once flown to Kano from Abuja by KLM to pick some passengers on my way to Schipol Airport, Amsterdam enroute New York.

This kind of arrangement can also be made with Enugu.

Samething the useless daughter did on the renaming of unilag to her father's name.
LOL @ 'financially contacted'. Must everything be about money. Let me ask you, with the current high level of corruption, indiscipline & injustice, if Fela Anikulapo Kuti a.k.a Abami Eda{strange being} is alive today, do you think GEJ and Sanusi Lamido dare mention his mother's name not to talk of using her picture on the currency? Kudos Seun, lion begets a lion.

HNosegbe: Oga read your post again and ask yourself if you made sense. "Obama is not capable and up to the task like GEJ". Are you serious?
Oga, I'm just being sarcastic. If US can have state police, why can't Nigeria?
PoliticsRe: Governors Will Abuse State Police - Jonathan by olivertwist: 12:10pm On Aug 28, 2012
GEJ is free of corruption, more capable, reliable, intelligent, sensible, honest, sincere, patriotic, faithful and loyal than all the 36 state governors combined. He's the only one that can control the Nigerian Police Force.

The reason why each USA states have their own police force is because Obama is not capable and up to the task like GEJ. And their governors like Arnold Schwaznegger(film actor) are better than our governors like Raji Fashola(Senior Advocate of Nigeria) etc

But pls, stop taking us all for FOOLS whenever it's election time coz we know your motive. We can see through you.

omosexy1: Fantastic post. I live in Lagos and I dread the city. The pollution, the noise, the rush, the madness, the disorganisation. This is Fashola's appraisal. He has a lot to do or whoever becomes the Governor. Don't know if the man is scared or he is playing politics. However, for the rest especially those in the east, claiming their city is better. Please hush your mouth, your city wasn't even recognized as a city in the first place. There are only 3 cities in Nigeria according to the International community - Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt. The rest have not gotten to the stage of being recognized as a city. The only city better than Lagos is Abuja.
I think your dad is more sincere than you concerning new developments/improvements in Lagos state. Even a blind man knows a new dawn has come. The problem is that, we expect Lagos to turn to Melbourne overnight forgetting that Rome wasn't built in a day.

You are right about pollution, noise, rush and disorganisation in Lagos but all these are the result of over-population. London and new york are experiencing the same thing hence the reason why they are encouraging people to migrate to other nearby cities.

As I'm typing these, thousands of people are landing in Lagos from VILLAGE yet Lagos is bad.
TravelRe: Lagos, World’s 3rd Worst City To Live by olivertwist: 9:50am On Aug 17, 2012
Lagos used to be one of the neatest and nicest city in the WORLD (not only in Nigeria) until every TOM, DIC.K & HARRY from all the VILLAGES in Nigeria start to migrate to Lagos in their MILLIONS every year thereby turning the city to what it is today.

The same set of people rejoicing about this survey will be the first to condemn Gov. Fashola for destroying slums & illegal structures in the state. SMH
