Good morning,

I have ugu leaves for sale directly from the farm. order for any quantity. though at least a sizeable quantity. can supply anywhere within lagos. My farm location is at ikorodu. I will also embark on large scale dry season ugu farming by November, so potential buyers should also keep this number.

08183549869- Emmanuel.

Bros why you farm without any market survey. Market plenty near you nah.
Try sabo, they have section dedicated to ugu. Same ketu/mile12, and oyingbo.
I know a farmer in Ogijo who farm on just less than 2plots, who wl bye pass sabo and mile 12, and wl head straight to oyingbo to sell his ugu.

I did with chicken manure, left outside for more than 2 months and the few that grew had stunted growth

Something should have gone wrong somewhere. Besides its over concentrated issue, Sawdust/wood chips used may also be responsible, some trees have poisonous a.i that can kill young plants even human being.
Don't underate the power of chicken manure when used in right proportion. i once used it in sack farming, none of the transplanted seedlings survived. I have also used it with brilliant results.

I'm yet to see a planting material that would beat decomposed Piggery manure, it works like magic.

there's a farm we did and used piggery manure, in 4days there was germination and the rate is one of the best I've recorded

Agree wt you. Its because is not too concentrated like those from chicken.

HornyTave:

make a hole, fill the hole with decomposed Piggery manure, plant your cucumber in the middle of the hole.

If u try this with decomposed chicken manure without mixing enough soil, it may burn your seedlings.

please if I may ask, why was gamaline declared contraband
Both the compound and its residue have acute and chronic effects on the vital organs(kidney, lungs, pancreas, nervous system) of the body.

Your mum uses it for preserving kola nuts or killing fishes in d river right?
Tell your mum that the use of Gammalin 20 has been outlawed (it's more of contraband), if them catch am, na jail o.

Good evening,
I recently acquired 2 plots of land, about 1000sqm in the south. I intend using it solely for cucumber farming. What's the estimated revenue that I can get from it in 3 months considering this rainy season period and it's a virgin land..?

You may wound yourself with this mindset.

Not sure of the variety but it should be Emerald F1 touted to produce 140 tons per hectare. A farm in Cameroon was said to harvest about 4000 baskets from a hectare of emerald f1
You ealier called it sakata f1, the fb handle also called it sakata, why are you saying its emerald f1 again? Is sakata=emerald?

Modified:
OK i think I can relate the 2. Emerald is produced by sakata seed Co.

Good day all. For sb novice in building, which will you suggest (checking cost, and durability), which is better: buying blocks or molding it by oneself?
.
Please I also need opinions on what to do to afford thugs causing me problems on site.
If you don't have time to supervise the labour, go for already made. Moulding is cheaper but lots of risks such as rainfall, wetting during dry season, theft from labourers-half bag of cement nay be used to mould same quantity that full bag would have moulded, the remaining quantity wl be taken to their house. Some moulders have built houses from these proceeds.

@farmerakinloye6 @oluchidelly, I just observed the cracking issue on some fruits (mainly the bigger fruits), I am still monitoring for more signs of the cracks

That's it. That's the only issue with padma. I initially thought it was due to harsh dry season effect.

I have started harvesting but only at the greenish red stage, maybe I will need to keep it to as bright red stage to observe this. Oga oluchidelly have you started selling the dwarf Okro seeds, and could you suggest other tomato cultivars you have laid your hands on pls
Not yet bro.
Not all fruits get cracked, just less than 10%, u may not experience it as its not yet dry season.
Not really planted much variety, some Cotonou variety n padma.

Your cracking observation wt padma is right. I experienced it too. It was around december, probably due to hot weather. Aside that, its a fantastic variety.

Agriculture / Re: Which Pesticides Can I Use To Kill Pest Eating My Farm Produce? by OluchiDelly: 8:52pm On May 23, 2020
kabanayol9:
This is the thing disturbing my maize
That's armyworm.
Very destructive, stubborn and cunny.
Its right below those debris you are seeing.
It uses the debris to insulate itself from attack. If you sprsy insecticide anyhow, it gets absorbed and neutralized by the debris and it will not touch it.
It also developed resistance towards many insecticides.
Findings show it moves towards the surface/ mouth of the foliage in the morning and return to the bottom when the sun is out. So the best time to apply insecticide is in the morning before sunrise.
Nozzle must be directed towards the mouth of the pipe when spraying (for shorter crop). Unfortunately your corn has gone taller (maybe than you self) you may end up spraying your body if you want to use this method. So its better to use the water bottle method of the poster above since you farm is no big.
Every farmer has diff testimony of the insecticides that work for them. To some, its laraforce, army force, catapillarforce, neem, etc. Most important thing is to spray at the target spot and time.

That's why i don't like posting in other thread, them don start view, they will not comment.

Lol,
Your picture did not clearly capture the defective ones among your corn. But what I m seeing from afar appears like armyworm infestation.
To check it out, sacrifice a defective plant among your corn, gently tear down the foliage(you can use a knife or blade) and concentrate on the "pipe" , the armyworm, greenish brown colour worm, usually stay at the bottom of the pipe and covers itself up with the debris of its waste product. Perform this exercise and get back with the feedback. If it is the one, people will surely give you the solution you want.
