My argument is not about holder of U.S, UK or EU visa but a passenger on the way to Dubai and flying with KLM will transit through Amsterdam airport (International Transit Airside) without EU visa so far the Aircraft is flying from the same terminal.
True holder of U.K, U.S and Canada visa can only transit through one EU airport not two.

How you wan come take enter the plane for Lagos/Abuja, Do you see the “aduro” implication of this? Calculate am again first sha.... You see US and Canada as dem respect each other reach so? E get why if you no get one of dem visa and you get for the other, the one wey you no get no go still let you transit through dem. Barbados and all those countries wey we be visa-free to so, none of the US or Canada go lailai allow awa people transit for their country without visa enroute Barbados and their gang. All these EU countries, the US, Canada and UK get their border to protect die, the reason you dey see say na better country visa you go get for your Nigeria Passport before you transit through dem naim be dat so. Of course I agree that you don't need a Transit Visa for the route you just mentioned. If you read my post you'll see that exemptions are granted to Nigerians who are holders of US visas.

My argument with Lordcrixus is on the difference between a Schengen Transit Visa and a Schengen Short Stay Visa (regular visa). When transiting only one Schengen area (eg LOS - AMS - DXB), you'll need a Schengen Transit Visa. However, when transiting more than one Schengen area (eg LOS - AMS - CDG - DXB), you'll need a Schengen Short Stay Visa and not a Transit Visa. But if you have a US or UK or Canada or EEA visa, then you don't need either Transit or Short Stay Visa.

True, but the US (and other exemption qualifying) visa(s) won’t allow do more than one Schengen Area Airport in any particular trip. I’m with you on most of what you have been saying since.

B2 is specifically medical and you’re supposed to state that clearly these days. You pick B1/2 and specify B2 below it. And since she already has B1/2 she should mail the VO and take it from there. I hope she makes that intention clear before she departs.

Taaah!!! @Blink2; you see this advice? You can try to weigh what all others have advised you on here to help you make your final decision, but just pretend as if you didn't see this one, and don't ever touch it, it's full of venom oh. You write them that valueless letter and your visa is revoked, simple!

Please house, I really do not know if this is the right way to ask a question in a thread. I need advice.

I have US Visa expiring Jan (did renewal in 2018 jan) however I have used this visa twice last year for casual trips prior to having a bun in the oven. What do you advice, as I am due in the first week of December and just got married. Hubby does not have a visa at this time and I intend to use a reputable hospital. My worries are no more change of intent letter, reappearance at the embassy et al. Should I just travel and come back with a clean bill?

Go ahead if you can afford paying undiscounted bills for the birthing, that should help during renewal. In the absence of that, kindly turn yourself in for a fresh B2 interview for the sole purpose of birthing in the US, a lot of financial capability to be shown still either ways....

That's the reason. I hope you have a valid reason for the long stay.

Hopefully she didn’t fill in her DS160 form and say during her visa interview that she will be visiting the US for maybe 2, 3 or 4 weeks tops. I doubt if she said anything more than these anyways.

She seems to be underrating the matter at hand though. This could be really grave even if you got the 6 months stamp and didn’t stay more than you were stamped in for. 2 months, then for 4 months, then what next most likely? Whew! BE WORRIED OH, unless....

The “I’m self employed” part that affords her the capacity to stay that long in the US ehn, I just help her pray sha. Lately, it is clear that these people will not allow thunder strike one particular spot twice again, I really do help her hope and pray.

I know some of us here have been waiting for me to share this transcript , believe me I had it in mind all these while but I got so busy in the last few weeks that it became "work" for me to sit down and type something this long.Especially with the plot twist(like in a movie) that made the story a long one.But I knew I was going to to do it eventually , for others to learn from it.

Choi! You did absolutely well, with the Americans particularly, you beat them squarely but for the underlying Canada application issue of having not "declared Child Birthing" therein, you can hardly blur that thinking by them that you wanted to go birth in Canada without declaring same in your application (even I will hardly believe otherwise despite all your very smart explanation which of course you weren't opportune to do effectively during your US visa application follow-up interview).

Your credibility is eroded already by that "small" doubt on the balance of probability and hangs in the air surely. Seems too they are validly "poke-nosing" in your relationship with Canada and by extension protecting themselves. Pretty sorry this didn't pan out right for you and your wife, I commiserate with you both. May the best be yours however!

What you just said is totally wrong, she said it was not discounted and she has her zero balance. My suggestion is to get in touch with the hospital and ask for your full financial detail of the child birth and if there's any hidden discount, if there's none please reapply and explain with evidence of your findings.

It was discounted, please oh. That "she said"? Naaah! That figure can never be without a discount (it's the percentage of discount she should be looking at to see if at all she will have a case, a somewhat safe margin will be a discount not more than 50%), let her check or go for her itemised bill, then she will understand better, it's all in there.... It's just about were we've found ourselves with birthing in the US! Sighs

What is this issue about invitation letter you have been emphasizing on from the beginning of your post?

You stated that elderly people want to go and see their son after 10years at the same time you stated that it is not B1/B2 visa you need for them.

You need to be clear about the visa category you plan to use.

Normally, I will advise that this person is allowed to pack his/her parents and brother's "bags and baggage" to the Embassy, seems there's nothing you people will say about this process that would be passed across effectively, when they go in and come out without any of the "load" being checked, the understanding will come, no doubts. And these "invitation letter and documents to go with" thing is where applicants mostly expose themselves to agents unnecessarily!

I hope he gets the drift that all the parents need would be to fill the forms appropriately, submit print the appointment and DS160 confirmation pages, GTB US Visa fee receipts, passport photographs and international passports. Then know more about their son and be natural during interview. Stop thinking and believing your USC Sibling is a "chairman" oh, and that your parents will get a pass just because of him, they actually have to qualify for a visa as individuals in order to get one.

I hope the marriage you talked about is the source of his entrance into the US and not the source of his sustaining himself in the US after entering with a visit visa?

.... That isn't just a good thing to do please, there's a tomorrow. Unless you have resolved not to come out of Canada again sha, this could boomerang! Why not prepare yourself and arm yourself with the financial resources and then do the necessary at the POE by telling them what you are there for?

At least, Canada ain't as 'wicked' as the US on this. It is bad enough you didn't declare childbirth in your application, but you could have straightened it all out at the POE. Unnecessary fear I tag this. Every aboki with his or kettle sha! All the best....

As an afterthought, and if I may ask too, do you intend to even pay bills for this birthing sef ni?

@Becca01; why are you always goal-shifting and blackmailing? The above was my post in response to your not airtight plan previous year. Where are we now?

I put it to you that you are only here for yourself on this, and not for other people please. You and your likes are the ones that soil the road you pass through not minding the effect it will have on those coming from behind and even for yourself on your way back, your mindset is that of “I won’t worry for now, once I get to that bridge, I will cross it”, and that is why you are here again right now. But you can see the Canada birthing route too is getting tighter now, abi? You deleted those posts because of the traceable details you put out in the open before. I at least know the hospital you used and the doctor sef (not like there’s anything I was going to do with those details though, do note that we used them a couple of years ago), unless you had a change of plan after you deleted those posts.

I wish you all the best in your visa renewal efforts still, I don’t think it’s anywhere as bad as that of the US yet. Ciao!

I believe I never said you said so too. That was put in for the purpose of understanding. That is to point the obvious to you, that that particular form of adjustment is legal just like the one you are "teaching" us is legal too, and that you may likely agree with me that despite the legality, they have consequences right in front....

What am trying to say is that adjustments of status from B1/B2 to F1 is legal. The refusal shouldn’t be because of the adjustments of status.

Why please? I understand you have been researching though. Is adjusting status through marriage illegal?
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OmoBendel24: 2:38pm On Jul 22, 2019
Supported. The problem is with the visa misuse mainly I think, hardly about the missing passports. Agreed that people adjust status from the B visas, there will always be consequences, whether to F1 or via marriage oh, a day of reckoning beckons.

Just go and try your luck, prepare your mind for the worst

It is hardly a try your luck thing with the US visa application currently at least. This mindset is the reason those long queues of applicants at the embassy exist virtually every day, group of people just trying their luck. And when they are turned down, they come up with tantrums and abuses, even when they know deep down that their real intention was to try their luck and of course escape if granted.

It will take a mugu developed country to actually grant visa anyhow to Nigerians as things currently are in the country, make no mistakes about that.... You must bring something more than “try your luck” to the table, several factors are considered when adjudicating per a visa application, you’ve got to be above average on your score vis-à-vis these factors these days like seriously. Top and comfortable Nigerians that were trusted with the US visa have all escaped into the US and Canada with the visa, and we expect to have it smoother with them? Luck is very minute currently in US visa adjudication, merit and meeting standards is now key!

denitro:
Here is how the US visa process works. (From a consular staff)
Once you apply and your interview date is set, the consular holds a meeting previewing all applications for a particular interview date.
During the meeting, they go through all applications and predetermine those that will be granted visas based on the allotted visas for
that day.
The interview date is just a formality and those who have gone for the interview can attest to the fact that it sometimes last 20 seconds
and the consular office interviewing you might not ask for your documents.
The factors they look at during the pre interview meeting:
1. DV lottery application:
If you have apply for the US DV lottery before. FORGET IT you don't qualify.
Those who have won the DV lottery and didn't go, can be rest assured they will never be granted a US visa.
REASON: Applying for a DV lottery shows intent that you had a prior mindset of migrating to the US.
meaning in the past, you wanted to migrate to the US, but now are applying as an immigrate. Your chances are ZERO
2. SPONSOR PAST HISTORY
If your sponsor entered the US on B1/B2 visa and later upgraded to another visa type: FORGET IT you don't qualify.
3. TRAVEL EXPERIENCE
Get as much travel experience as possible to boost your chances.
Maybe the embassy has already decided your fate by now.
My advice, PRAY and PRAY

Lolz! Which yeye consular staff? Oh please! If no one corrects this, a big lie will just be fed nairaland people, even continually.

Only your point number 2 has a lot of value and number 3 too to some extent. Your introduction and point number 1 is turning things upside down.... I doubt if there existed a year in eight in a row that my then girlfriend (now wife) did not apply for the US DV. I never did till after my US visit, and it didn’t affect my visa renewal.

And who and who holds meeting on your application before your interview? Can you substantiate that? So, how come I submitted my mother Inlaw’s DS160 form on the morning of her interview right there at the front of the embassy before she went in for her interview and yet got the visa? Oh please!

I have a Business/Tourist US visa. In one of my visits I spent about 5months in the US which was not intended, how will it affect my next visit or visa renewal?

Mel Burslan
Mel Burslan, Have been to US with B1/B2 & H1B visas in the past

Not positively. Even if you were given 6 months of stay by the CBP officer.

It also depends what you told the CBP officer as your reason and expected length of your visit. The point is, if your plan was to be in the US to attend a business meeting and may be see family members and go back home in 30 days and told this to the CBP officer and he turned around and stamped 6 months long stay on your passport, it doesn’t mean that he is giving you a free pass.

When you get your US visa, the main consideration of the consular officer was if your ties to your home country was strong or not, so that you are more than likely to return home, because something is waiting for you at home, which is important to you.

Now, you said you will be away from home for 30 days. It is understandable. But if you go AWOL fro 5 months, guess what ? Whatever the consular officer thought that something important to you, was not so important after all. You can stay away from whatever this thing is, let it be a job, an ailing parent, or a husband or child or any combination of these, it was not that important after all. You have proven that by staying away for 5 months long. And this is recorded in yor immigration file. Next time you want to go to the US with the same visa, you may find it cancelled and you may be held back from boarding the aircraft. Or if your visa has expired and you need a new one, guess what, you do not have strong ties to your homeland and denial is almost certain for the new visa

Thank you for your reply. But I don't seem to see anything like that from the beginning of the site to the end. I would love it if you could show me in my screenshot above. Thanks

Actually, that won't work. The message you sent too does not have good enough content.... The old and new DS160 form details are not there, likewise both applicants' details, you ought to send his passport data page alongside the message. I'm however surprised you didn't even get a response from them at all, strange. Anyways, this is one of the reasons I keep advocating for the setting up of individual profiles for all applicants, it's easier from there to fix challenges of this nature.

Ladyguinivere ma, will plead that this solution is added to your introductory message for this thread, please. This one is actually no fault of applicant's so to speak.

The fastest and easiest solution for your situation now and generally is to call their number (kindly search for it, it's in the previous thread I think), explain your predicament and have them change your brother's DS160 number from their end, this won't happen without them questioning a bit though, basic questions. Ensure you have his passport with you when making the call....

That would be the cheapest option...

If he can book ahead of time, he can certainly get a MegaBus Ticket from either New York City OR Washington D.C. to Atlanta for $20...

Washington D.C. to Atlanta is roughly 6 hours by MegaBus...

New York City to Atlanta is roughly 10 hours by MegaBus...

And then he can take Greyhound from Atlanta Georgia to Birmingham Alabama which is roughly 2 hours by Bus

A Greyhound Ticket from Atlanta Georgia to Birmingham Alabama should cost about $20...

NY to ATL will take well over 18hrs, stops inclusive, and anywhere from $40 oh!
