Religion / Re: BBA Africa: Matters Arising by omosexy1: 9:59am On Jun 17, 2013
Honestly, I do not intend to insult you but your post is very childish. BBA does not teach you morals. It is pure entertainment. If you are in search of morals you have to seek it elsewhere. The colour black has nothing to do with satanic impressions. It is the early founders of the church to ascribe the colour black to be devilish. I do not watch BBA except evictions (just to be informed) because I find it boring watching a group of people doing nothing but talk.
Politics / Re: Lagos Schools Where Students Sit On The Floor & Under Trees by omosexy1: 7:53am On Jun 17, 2013
I really don't understand the argument here. Our leaders do not invest in education at all. What they know best is to build structures and the public dances around. What about the quality of learning and the academic qualifications of the teachers. Many public and even private teachers do not update themselves anymore with current situations. Our universities continue to lecture with the theories of the 1960s. School administrators only embezzle money without any impact. How is the government going to wipe out poverty if they do not address education properly. A well educated man can fend for himself. Our leaders are the first to send their children out of the country because they know that the quality of education in the country is poor. However, they do not intend to address the problem.

Please lets stop making excuses for our Government/Public Leaders. None of them is working, I cannot understand why someone would provide social infrastructure and tax its people after all the internal generated revenue from taxes and land sales and also from federal allocations. To me I think our state governors are the devil in our lives.
Music/Radio / Re: D'banj Ft Big Sean & Snoop Lion - Blame It On The Money by omosexy1: 1:55pm On Jun 13, 2013
As a good fan of D'banj and one who shares the same birth date with him, I believe this Gemini is losing his golden touch to music since his departure from Don Jazzy. He is yet to up an artistry touch of flame like we note him for. This music is a far cry from what we know D'banj for. It is so western for me to accept. If I want to listen to western music I know where to look but I cannot listen to another western-make up from a Brother. C'mon D'banj come back to Lagos and stay for a while maybe your musical senses would come back.

To note, I dislike the lyrical content. Nice western beat for a good rap song. Snoop Lion did well.

Celebrities / Re: Omotola Blasts FG For Mistreating Nigerians by omosexy1: 1:41pm On Jun 13, 2013
She is saying the truth. We have sulked up to our corrupt leaders. We feel its ok for them to steal our money. We feel happy when they oppress us with the stolen wealth. I am listening to D'banj singing about money and sorry for the poor ones. The same poor ones who save N100 to buy his album. It doesn't matter when we awake from our slumber but we must wake up and demand our right.

Politics / Re: Should The Nigerian High Commission In London Remain Silent? by omosexy1: 11:45am On May 24, 2013
Ilelobola: In the past, I wrote to the Nigerian High Commission whenever the name of Nigeria was being tainted be it a TV programme or newspaper. I would write asking them to contact the producer, editor etc to right the wrong. They obviously never acknowledged my emails and I've never heard of a retraction about Nigeria.

The media are consciously reminding everyone the murderers of the British soldier killed senselessly and so horrifically in Woolwich are of Nigerian descent, which is true but we need less of the reference to Nigeria or someone to state clearly and publicly that they are not Nigerians. They have never even been to the country! People are phoning radio stations asking why Nigerian children are like this (can't blame them as every youth knife crime in London seems to have a child of Nigerian descent involved), and people are probably writing all sorts online about Nigerians etc.

They do not remember the great people representing Britain that are of Nigerian descent, those that win Olympic medals, footballers, politicians etc. I can mention a few but I'd hate to write a good name on this thread.

Even Chechyna which isn't an independent nation denounced the Boston bombers as Chechynans. These 2 boys though they have Nigerian names and are of Nigerian descent are not Nigerians.

When will the Nigerian High Commission start speaking up for Nigeria?

You are certainly right. I think it is now our job to fight the negativity with both action and words. I think the Nigeria high commission in UK is not working. We need to remind the world that just like every society has its problems, a majority of the Nigerian citizens are hardworking and honest about their activities. We need to remind the world that just like criminals roam around their streets, the criminal minded Nigerians are genetic defective people and do not have the true Nigerian blood in them.
Politics / Re: Lagos State Breaks New Grounds In Vehicle Administration With One-stop Centre. by omosexy1: 11:40am On May 24, 2013
I think we are getting confused with the plans from the actuals. What we want is actuals and no more plans. Fashola should guide his commissioners from rushing to the media with plans just like he told all civil servants to avoid talking to the media. This is getting confusing. I know that in Nigeria, government would plan and fail and then blame. So we should adopt another approach, complete and blow your trumpet.
Politics / Re: Should Lagos Govt Ban Danfo & License Private Companies To Run Transport Sector by omosexy1: 11:29am On May 24, 2013
God bless the OP for this thread. These are the issues we should be discussing on nairaland and not pictures of celebrities (making front page). There is extra money to be made from private buses licence. I believe Lagos has suffered so much in the hands of these danfo buses and drivers. They believe so much in NURTW and as a political tool, politicians do not want to fight with NURTW. Lagosians cannot continue to suffer from these people, I believe we deserve better and if truly Fashola intends to transform Lagos into a mega city, then eradicating danfo drivers from the road is not an option but a necessity - A MUST DO. I participated in a summit "Global Leadership Summit" organised by the London Business School, the world have their eyes on Nigeria, they are watching. Though, many might be praying we fail, but some interested investors are glued to the activities happening in Nigeria, many of them even have a better viewpoint of the news here than we the locals. If we begin to organise our house and do the proper things, I tell you in the next 5 years the influx of foreigners into this country would be unprecedented and that means more money and JOBS.
Politics / Re: 10,000 Megawatts To Be Generated By Dec – FG by omosexy1: 11:08am On May 24, 2013
I really dont get this. I think we may not have constant power supply for the next 10 years. Privatization exercise has been concluded but the private firms would not taken over the transmission and distribution companies because the govt will have to put things right (OMG). Why can't the private firms put these things in place themselves. Govt would waste more money and time and achieve nothing. Then the blame game will start all over again. When are we ever going to get there?

I pity the man that intends to do such. Everybody has one baggage or the other. Her own baggage right now is MARRIAGE. Lets be honest, the lady in question is not yet marriageable. Any man who marries her is in trouble. I will not go further to break it down cos I no get that time. I also know that she wont be married this year (no be curse but based on her attitude).

The world recognizes nollywood because of the audience. The quality of movie churned out is crap and classless. I keep spitting each time I see a nollywood movie. 15 years after, and the actor still has the same cloth and haircut. The actors speak bad English. We only specialize on the Drama genre of movie, the drama sef we no dey do well. We have abandoned our history and facets of life that we can show the world and entered into love love movie, I steal your wife, i poison your mama and your dog kind of movie. And someone wants to tag some of our actors A-list. The person dey drink Omo abi na urine.

Politics / Re: Innoson Vehicles Complains Of Low Govt Patronage! by omosexy1: 8:55am On Jan 31, 2013
AjanleKoko: The government should give the guy some form of protection. After all, India did it, they banned importation of fully-built units for a long time, to allow the likes of Tata to grow. This was in the 60s, and 70s. Same for Brazil. No reason why that can't be done here.

I wonder why people are making supposed 'capitalist' statements on here. Most of you have never tried to produce anything in your lives, so i understand.
Here's some reading material to get more informed:

http://www.leadership.ng/nga/articles/43758/2012/12/30/how_policy_inconsistencies_reduced_capacity_utilisation_automobile_industry.html

http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2012-06-14/news/32235804_1_ban-import-second-hand-machinery-import-duty

This should never be implemented by the government. People will kick against it. I would too. Because you do not impose a product on me just like that. The market is very wide and still young. If that is his strategy, Innoson should kiss his auto company goodbye. I won't be surprised, if Toyota rush down to set up a plant in Nigeria just because of the ban and what's going to happen? Innoson should create a business around his product and stop dancing with government officials.
Politics / Re: Atiku Calls For Stiffer Anti-corruption Laws by omosexy1: 8:42am On Jan 31, 2013
Good call from Atiku ABUBAKAR, he should also pressurize the law makers to include prosecution of past government officials involved in corruption.
Politics / Re: Innoson Vehicles Complains Of Low Govt Patronage! by omosexy1: 8:23am On Jan 31, 2013
The CEO of Innoson should step aside and employ real business development managers that would take his auto company to the next level. At this point he should resign his position to become chairman. That is what the likes of Dangote, Cosmas Maduka, Femi Otedola are doing. If Innoson continues this way, he would end up becoming the local university student who built a vehicle and was proud about it. We know he wants the publicity and fame, that would come when his product begins to compete with the likes of Toyota, Honda, Hyundai etc around the Africa continent. At that point, he doesn't need to lobby CNN or BBC, they would all be rushing to get an interview from him. Also to note his website is crap, hence serious buyers won't take him serious. Oh before I forget, Innoson has a good product but he doesn't have a business, he should create a business around his product.

Politics / Blackberry Unveils Make-or-break Blackberry 10 In New York; Changes Its Name. by omosexy1: 7:40pm On Jan 30, 2013
Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) renamed itself BlackBerry and unveiled the new BlackBerry 10 lineup at an event in New York this morning, aiming to lure back customers that have defected to Apple Inc. (AAPL) and Samsung Electronics Co.

The company introduced a touch-screen model called the Z10 and a version with a physical qwerty keyboard named Q10, both of which run the revamped BB10 software. The Z10 starts at C$149 ($149) in BlackBerry’s home country of Canada, where it goes on sale Feb. 5. The phone won’t appear in the U.S. until March, with the Q10 following globally in April, the company said.
The event marks a do-or-die moment for the company, which has seen its market share fall to a quarter of what it was three years ago. It’s counting on the BlackBerry 10 to reverse that slide and help return the Waterloo, Ontario-based company to profitability. The stock dropped as much as 9.1 percent after today’s presentation, signaling that investors remain skeptical.
“I don’t think it’s going to be dramatically better,” said Roger Entner, an analyst with Recon Analytics in Dedham, Massachusetts. “At least not good enough to get people to switch from Apple iOS or Android.”

Chief Executive Officer Thorsten Heins and Chief Marketing Officer Frank Boulben have been crisscrossing the globe to show carriers and corporate customers the BlackBerry 10’s features, aiming to distinguish the product from Apple’s iPhone 5 or devices that run on Google Inc. (GOOG)’s Android platform.
