We have tarantula spiders in Nigeria ![]() |
Anyone? |
blank:At least the school scams are from Uyo. I think beatsbug and gracesome are part of the same thing, but the threads have been removed so I'm not sure. I also think i remember Gracesome was also a school scam and beatsbug was supporting him by pretending to be his friend from school. Can anyone remember? We need to have those threads unlocked. Seun and RoyalRoy, Lalasticlala, can that be done? We need ample evidence. |
Mafioso9 did you send money? Please to whom did you send it to? Godmother and Banmee, did you send money as well? Whom or what was the account number and name sent to. Who knows UniCal's system well? As in, please explain how someone would have access to student's data, forms that have their passport photos. Is it something your classrep would have access to or do you submit only to your department office? |
blank:Good. Any more info? How did they catch VineHands? What made people suspect and catch him? The birthday scam, who can remember anything about it? |
blank:Do you have the account details? Does anyone have it? I'm going to contact some legal people and ask what can be done. I remember one of his accounts was GTB. Both vinehands and humbledbyfaith attend UniCal, dept of biochemistry and stay in Akwa Ibom. Both had issues with family supporting them. Both of them started with a thread that had a sob story, then opened another thread asking for help, in order to seem genuine and gain trust. Too much of a coincidence. So this person works for or is a student of UniCal. And if we can get an account number, we can try get his/her identity. Let's nail this SOB. |
blank:I tried looking for it but too many pages back. I think RoyalRoy pinned it to the startpage at some point in time, to warn people. I just did a search. The topic has been removed but his moniker was VineHands. https://www.nairaland.com/2860404/when-helper-turns-back-advice/3#42004493 WAIT! VINEHANDS WAS IN UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR STUDYING BIOCHEMISTRY! Ahahahahhahahahahhhhaaa I'm about to pee on myself with laughter! (But he's enterprising sha. He'd make a great businessman). Tearoses, cococandy, ifyalways, thorpido, Ioannes, royalroy,InvertedHammer, Seun et all. I think we need to contact a lecturer or bursar at department of Biochem, UniCal. Someone there (either a student or an staff) is repeatedly trying a scam with people's identities. Also contact Hope Aganyi, because he had all her documents in the other thread (admission and dockets). I believe the last time, he also had documents for a male student and that apparently wasn't his first time. We can fish him out. Who's ready for some sleuthing! |
I am taking notes.... ![]() |
Update: please check out the following thread: https://www.nairaland.com/3268948/it-now-never-me-dear The OP made a plea for money and it was discovered that her parents were alive and well and she had even done her NYSC, contrary to what she said. So maybe someone as using her name to try and scam people. Even though the OP was asked several times to confirm or deny the allegations, she strangely went silent (though her profile says she had been on NL this morning). If you wish to continue, do so at your own cost. Thanks. |
And as for the wailing about bad marriages nowadays, ya know, I know a lot of bad marriages that were filled by people in their 70s. Some even got divorced and others divorced by simply moving away. And those are just the ones in my immediate vicinity, countless others exist as well. So, may be this panic about bad marriages is like the panic about Homosexuality: that existed for a looonnnggggg time (read your Old Testament, folks!) But now that is being pushed into mainstream acceptance worldwide, it is creating a panic. Same with Women's rights, Islamic furor, Drug Wars, Race Wars etc. See a pattern? Maybe, I dunno, try NOT to clutch your pearls and panic...I dunno, I'm just spitballing here.. |
pavlovt:Dear Nigerian Youths, I'm afraid for you. You see, your society is so fvcked up that the government gave a job to an 83 year old man and someone defended it by saying "he's really old so he won't steal as much as a young man". That same person then accused you of stealing billions, blatantly ignoring the fact that the majority of the stealing and corrupt politicians in the government are well over the age of 40. Then he sealed his comment by throwing in your face a politician, whom, I'm 90% sure, rigged his way into office and used his elderly political godfathers to secure his tenure. You are called hooligans for using the only method you have to express your displeasure with the government, who has been ignoring you since 1960. The same government filled with old men, too old to "steal" as much. And you are agreeing with him. ![]() You should sell yourselves to more worthy people or better yet, jump into the sea en-masse. You are taking up valuable resources that other countries can use more effectively. I'm afraid for you. ![]() |
Cc Banmee, Godmother, who else was active on her first thread? Cococandy, you shouldn't have brought up Identity Theft so soon. If Humbledbyfaith is the same person as that Facebook page, she will easily claim that it is someone from her school that did this and feign ignorance. Because she put up a lot of school registration documents, which are hard to get, even if you work in her department's office. |
cococandy:It's called a "Long Con". Where is she, humbledbyfaith please put up all those documents you had on before. Or shall we screengrab this thread and post it on that Facebook profile's page? |
Do you know the latest method of scamming? Firstly, start a thread filled with some sob story. Don't mention donating, just keep piling on the sob story and getting people to comment. Then eventually, on another thread, declare life has gone to the dogs. People will rush and help you, remembering your first "genuine" thread. Proof: remember that guy this year whose aunt did not want to help with his schoolfees and he came to complain bitterly and everyone rushed in to tell him not to be ungrateful and he eventually admitted he was right? Then the plea for financial support came and lo and behold, someone caught him that it was a scam. Scammers are smart. They know directly asking for money is now obsolete. And I'm seeing more threads like that, a lot (1st thread, anguish-filled tearjerker, much later, pleas for help). And in all things, God must be mentioned. They know their audience. I can NEVER give anyone in NL money. Not unless you entertain me first by shooting yourself before me, in the presence of my family. ![]() |
chukzyblingz:Fulani herdsmen attacks have been happening, just that it hasn't reached the scale seen elsewhere so it isn't public knowledge. |
chukzyblingz:I'm from Delta, I actually live in Nigeria and know quite a bit about the governor. Still not yet impressed. |
mysticgal:Supermarkets like Spar, Shoprite (they don't have a good selection though). Mostly on the island. Baby E loves cheddar cheese and we love mozarella for pasta. I'm trying to find goat cheese made locally (which is very nutritious and values abroad). |
chukzyblingz:Like what precisely? |
For anyone wondering, a Nigerian dwarf goat is the local short goat we are everywhere in the South. Its milk is sweet and creamy and safe for lactose-intolerant people and it has a higher nutrition value than cow milk. It is easier to digest than cow milk as well.
|
Hello! I read on a thread recently that tofu is made in Nigeriaby either Benue people or Northerners. That also made me wonder if goat's cheese is made here, as I know the Nigerian Dwarf goat is prized for its milk. So, does anyone know where it's sold, the local names of tofu and Goat's cheese. I'm in Lagos. Thanks. |
udumosam23:Most men of God work as well. Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, give to God what is God's. So take care of your family and start a business, nothing stops you from preaching to your passengers and fellow bike riders. It is still a ministry. Speak to your pastor's wife and sister, if you were willing to explain to us, I'm sure you can explain with proof and evidence what happened. Sit down and negotiate payment plan that is reasonable to them and to you: maybe 20% of your salary goes to servicing your debts. Sell the rotor and use it to finance your debt. I'm not sure why you want forgiveness from men but peace with God will come from prayer and bible study. |
Is Word Of Faith good? I met someone sending his children there but he didn't specify why he liked the school other than costs. OP, here's a list of schools on this website, try and visit them and make a decision: http://passnownow.com/the-coolest-private-secondary-schools-in-edo-state/ |
modath:We good. How you guys? |
Okay, if they admit their fault, that means they should have refunded the payment for shipping the extra item. You can file a claim for it. So can you provide that info, the Invoice number and Tracking Number to ifyalways so she can help you? Also create a thread about it if they didn't refund you because it's bad for the business and I'm sure someone will contact you once the complaint thread gathers steam. |
udumosam23:You ought to have taken it up with them since they charged you extra for it. Anyway, Madam ifyalways is willing to help you fight, so hopefully you can get something back from them. So please give her your invoice number and tracking number. That is the only way forward. The drugs proof, you don't have proof of it and to have left the poor repairman to face them by themselves is bad. But try and get proof. You could have a nice settlement if you can gather all your proofs together. |
Descartes: ![]() I can't deal with this... ![]() |
Doctorflaky:That is Dulles International Airport, D.C. I passed through it to the point I had special spots for chilling for my flights. I'm not a Buhari fan but please use your common sense to know that she is at least in the U.S. |
Descartes:Yes na! Sorry for mentioning you, I didn't know I was arguing with a not-so-smart person. That is Dulles International Airport, I know it so well. |
Descartes:Dude, you're becoming embarassing. I saw your comment on the other thread about how it wasn't the U.S. I kept quiet because I recognised the airport. Now see what you're saying. County sheriffs cannot arrest her, only the FBI can question her. I'm not even a fan of the President or any politician but you and your ilk are becoming embarassing. And to believe Fayose (of all people) is proof that Nigeria deserves to be a sh.ithole of a country forever. |
udumosam23:Why did you agree to pay for something you didn't order? If MyUS added the rotor wheel to your order, couldn't you ask them to remove it, since you didn't order it. You can take it up with MyUS that because they consolidated the goods, they got damaged. Also, once they found drugs inside the laptops, why not challenge MyUS and get them to refund your shipping because you can report to the police about their illegal trade? I really feel bad o. Oya drop your bank account details here. (cough). |
She cray-cray. Let him move out, before he ends up sleeping in a cell. No contact with her, moving out, after he has paid schoolfees, just leave then in 1 month's time (when he's beginning to feel like himself again), contact her family and sort out custody of the kids. Joint custody or visitation rights. I think his marriage is over, but let's see how things work out. And people don't just change, something happened for it to get this bad. |
aycorporat:It's been about a month since I saw her. I think she moves around so that no-one can note her movements and catch her easily. Because I've heard when people sometimes decide to stop and help them, rather than give them money, they disappear into thin air. |
