RomanceRe: Ladies Hail Surgeon Who Allegedly Disfigured A Girl's Hips by onegig(m): 8:00am On Apr 12, 2020
Grandamante:
People should not detest cosmetic surgery. If u have been with a flat or a big bum bum all your life and u want to experience what having a big or a flat bum bum feels like and u can afford it why not. Do it. U have dark or fair skin and you re curious to experience the other, or it doesn't feel good to you anymore. If you can modify it and you can afford to modify it, don't let anyone discourage u. Go ahead and modify. Life is too short. Explore. If u can renovate your house you can also renovate your body. That your body is the temple of God is the more reason u should if u could always beautify, renovate and upgrade your body. Your should not leave God's temple in your care to rust and decay away.It should always be refurbished with the latests in town. That God created you perfectly should not be an excuse. He also created the universe perfectly and we have been modifying it, redecorating it, upgrading it, building new structures and eliminating unneeded ones since time immemorial. Men have refused to beautify their body that is why they had, have and will still pay a premium to be with women who have constantly upgraded their god-given body. Jesus said to Martha; why are you stressing urself over many things, why only few things are important."
This is very naive and ignorant.

You are comparing building structures that are a necessity and modifying your body because of mere personal thoughts? What if those thoughts change in the nearest future? You would go add more booties or boobs?

By the way what if you have big eyeballs? Long neck? Short neck? Too tall? Long hands? Short arms? Big head? Big toes? I hope there are procedures for such also? Why are such people not applying the same thought processes to these? Aren't such things worthy of "upgrade" also?

At what point do you call a spade, a spade and agree this isn't about enhancing your body or health but more about needless selfishness and self esteem issues.

If you have a deformity or painful body part then do well to go for a CORRECTIVE surgery but going for cosmetic or face lifting surgery is nothing but your selfish personal business. The main grouse is do not come out seeking help and public support after a cosmetic surgery goes wrong. If you are stupid enough to risk your life for ephemeral things then you should be stupid enough to own the gifts it bears.

This man lacks deep thinking or does this implies that all Oyo state residents are already infected or sick huh Because from a professional point of views and recommendations from WHO and CDC only medical personnel and sick people should be wearing face masks!! cool
Same WHO that told you that the virus can't be transmitted from human to human as recently as Janaury ending?

Or the same WHO that has been a shitshow in this pandemic.

Everyone venturing out needs a face mask. A group of about 60 to 80 Choristers had a practice session in the US mid March, none was symptomatic as at then and they performed social distancing, staying feet away from each other., no touching and stuff. Wash hands and all other precautions.

At the end of the day about 45 tested positive with two deaths already. That not only confirms that speaking, singing and breathing in air in close proximity can lead to people getting infected. At this point , using face masks is a necessity when going out.

Below is a direct quote from the article

""So now we know, oh hm, maybe it's transmitted not just by droplets and sneezes or coughs; maybe it's transmitted just by people talking, just by people being around each other," Comstock said. "And then of course, if you're singing there's more volume to the talking, deep breathing and more volume."

We return back to the consequences and motivation. Die of hunger? Or risk being infected by a so called "foreign common flu". I am sure if you are in the shoes of millions, natural instinct would be self preservation which is find food.

Yes...
SELF-isolation by its very definition requires SELF-enforcement!

Meanwhile, where did you get the notion that Nigeria is not "scaling up tests and isolation and contact tracing"? New molecular labs are being opened, the existing labs have themselves scaled up through process engineering (ie, going from their regular 1 8-hour shift to 3 8-hour shifts, and thus are now operational for 24 hours daily), more test kits and equipment are being imported, new isolation centers (as well as ICUs) are being opened up in all of the states, and the very essence of the lockdown (as stated in the Quarantine Order itself) is to enable/enhance contact tracing.

Nonetheless, the notion that coercive policing is the only way to get ADULTS to protect not only their own health but also their own families and communities is a sad commentary on the lawlessness and irresponsibility of the citizenry. #TakeResponsibility

>
You should take time to tune into an international TV station and see how world over people would always be irresponsible except their is a catch. Maybe you go learn a bit of human psychology. The concept of needs, wants and motivation. No human would do what is necessary except there is an higher motivation/reward/punitive measure to do what is right. Every single action is weighed between what is in the best interest of the individual. It is human nature. You would expect a government with their head screwed right in to understand this basic thing and understand how volatile Corona is and how highly contagious it is. If i were to follow your logic we should remove traffic lights on roads as humans should be able to "self behave" and citizens should naturally be "responsible".

Lawlessness of Citizens you say? when the government hasn't been responsible to the citizens from the start.?The average Ajegunle vulcanizer shouldn't be suffering the effects of government ineffectiveness when he doesn't even have a bank account let alone passport to travel outside the shores of the country.

The question you should be asking the government is....95% of cases were returning travellers , why are you just forcing isolation now? From the start the major challenge was to avoid local transmission and we failed in that. Shows you they failed in their assessment and risked the lives of millions of Nigerians with their ineptitude. How do you contact trace thousands? With the way country is packed?

As for testing, information out there speaks to the contrary.I hope these measures turn out effective and we come out successful at the end but deep down I honestly feel we already passed that bus stop and only a Vaccine can stop this. Which points back to my stance the government dropped the ball on this.

Yet again, this will not be a case of "government this, NCDC that"....
EVERYONE has a role to play, and the conduct of ALL residents will ultimately determine COVID-19's impact on Nigeria.

Good luck to us all.
>
Fast one? It is the citizens that would enforce self isolation requirements or rules on returnees from high risk countries? The citizens have less than 10% to do in this.

Countries like Singapore enforced stringent rules and even went digital. You get a wrist band fixed after landing and you mark a space as self isolation square. You move metres out of the perimeter and you are fined heavily.

But here we were given a blank cheque to roam around
without punitive measures. Even public officials returning were seen roaming the country.

We should be scaling up tests and isolation and contact tracing but till today we don't even know how many tests has been carried out. That's how you contain this and none is in the hands of citizens

On second thought.... with what I read from you and others.... I will agree that a truckload of explosives will not cause a crater ... since it will blast towards the area of less resistance.... upward into the atmosphere.
On the meteor.... I hold my position. Not on the grounds that meteorites do not enter earth's atmosphere.... nor all do get burned up and none reaches the earth. My position is based on a meteor not being burnt out and making it all the way to the earth's surface.... and creating that size crater...has to be of a substantial size. Whatever size it was..... the speed at which it traveled had to create sonic booms.... which would be heard.... and more likely the meteor seen...and more likely cause damage to buildings .... as happened in Russia a year or two ago. I find it unbelievable that a meteorite that size.....would land in a residential neighbourhood and nobody heard nor seen it. That pill I cannot swallow.
People heard the sound at 1am. How many Nigerians are out at 1am observing the sky? Also nature is not set in stone, some people said they thought it was thunder which means it most have given a whizzing sound before the point of impact.

Even the Russian incident was caught on camera because lots of people in Russia use Dashcams and it happened in the daytime when people were a lot active. Even in the US with the proliferation of phones, how many UFOs were captured recently on cam? you are just never prepared for such and the time span is way to short to react. These things happen in the fragment of seconds. Go watch videos of that Russian incident and tell me how many seconds it took from appearing and point of impact? less than 5 seconds.

We have eliminated the aspects of bombs or dynamites so what else would cause a crater that large?

Edited.........
Watched the videos someone posted up there and can see remnants of vehicle and charred remains on a truck. Still surprised about the crater though. Was the road in a lifted area with drainage underneath? There needs to be more survey of the area.

wetin dey worry all this stupid people sef, PDP are just too irritating, Jonathan succeeded in destroying PDP by sending away their sensible founding fathers, replacing them with foolish drunkards like himself

In US Democrats Independents and Republican have both shunned petty politics to work out plans for their economic recovery, disaster management and relief plan

if PDP are sensible, since they felt Buhari's speech and plans he itemized are not enough or they felt he doesn't have the power to place curfew on Lagos and Ogun, then they should tell Nigerians what other plans they want him to do

.
It is not about PDP. You guys aren't considering the logistic of things. You want the movement of food ? How does vegetables and onions reach a market in Isolo after it has been dropped at Mile 12 when commercial buses and all movement are banned? Or the mama that goes to buy in Bulk in such markets would disappear and just appear at the Mile 12 market?

How would a supermarket with employees living in Sango get to VI where their work places are?

The petrol station workers would walk to the office or when last did you see a petrol station with Staff bus?

How many Nigerians can afford to even stock up food for a week? even if you stock up food where is the electricity to freeze such foods and stables like tomatoes that get rotten within days?

No one is addressing the main issues of testing and isolation of patients as usual we want to use force and fire brigade methods to kill a virus. There numerous statements on social media about how people have not been tested or NCDC turning them back, is it the NCDC that would drive to your house to come test you when you are restricted at home down with all the symptoms of Corona?

Remember it is not a 3day lockdown. This is 14 days.. 2 weeks without movement.

A.truckload of explosives..... that's not enough? Like 2 years ago a meteor landed in Russia.... who didn't see it heard it. Who saw or heard this one?
A truckload of explosives on a surface would never ever cause a crater except they dugged the ground and immersed it in. There are lots of foreign objects entering the Earth's atmosphere in a year. Even NASA can't catch or detect all the space debris coming in.

We don't hear of lots of them because they fall into the ocean and due to the friction against Earth's atmosphere when gaining entry into earth most of them are already small or near dust so the impacts aren't known.

I added images of a what an impact from a meteorite can do and an article from NASA stating exactly how incapable they are as of now to track such entries.

Oga Professor, I disagree vehemently!!!

I am a Mining Engineer by study and by profession by God's Grace. I can categorically confirm that commercial explosives were being conveyed from an explosive company in the South west to a quarry in the South south. EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) officers of the Nigeria Police were escorting the said explosives. The explosives detonated because the truck went in flames, according to report. Whether that cause is true or not is another case entirely. The one true fact is that "EXPLOSIVES IN A TRUCK DETONATED". The impact of the explosion is what you saw, while some witnessed ground vibration, air blast and noise.

For those that want to believe Mr Professor, try to check online videos of blasting done in quarries to know what explosives can do to rocks.

Check this video to understand the power of explosives.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkxKX8Z6vhY

In addition, some people said it was a bomb. Bomb explosives are different from commercial explosives. You would notice that there was no trace of fire or burn on and around the location.
Lol. They didn't tell you that in your video. The dynamite were actually buried in the soil and still yet you didn't get even a crater like result. More like breaking up of solid soil and dispersing them.

The Akure ish isn't a bomb abeg. Every single pic points to an impact from space.

Exactly. We are always looking for the easy way out. We aren't testing enough and isolating but we want to use the fire brigade approach of lock down. Many stories of people with the symptoms not getting aid or getting tested but dumbo wants to close highways.

What is the use of a lockdown if people inside the state are still partying like no tomorrow, most businesses still open and markets are running wild. At least fix that first and do contact tracing and isolate high risk people first.

They just want to appear to be working.
PoliticsRe: Coronavirus: Ogun State To Stop Non-Essential Inter-State Movement From Monday by onegig(m): 6:52am On Mar 29, 2020
Closing interstate borders is actually very silly at this point.

You can limit movement but closing? Also states don't have jurisdictions over federal roads. Are you telling me you are going to Lock Lagos-ibadan expressway and limit the movement of millions moving to other states ?

What about fuel tankers? People returning from Lagos to other states? It takes only one essential service person to infect thousands so closing interstate borders won't work.

We aren't testing enough so we can nip things in the bud
and isolate people we are closing interstate borders instead. Like there is a physical border between Lagos and Ogun that you can just carry stick and block the movement of people. Nigerian politicians are always dumb, always putting the cart before the horse.

Our grid is outdated, redundancies aren't put in place, una dey laugh, grid collapse doesn't mean that there is no generation of electricity, it means that the load is more than power available

Government can allow states generate power for their own use but cost will be too much, power plants to serve just enugu for instance will cost billions of naira, so our government prefers to build it small by small but population dey grow, building isn't meeting up, hopefully as more people go to school, less children will be born and generation will eventually catch up with consumption, to fix Nigeria power problem permanently will require our complete budget for 10 years straight
Doesn't take 10 years to fix. More like 4 years but the problem isn't the money to fix it. The problem is the guarantees on returns on investment. We did better with zero infrastructure in the GSM sector and built up a non existent infrastructure in years. That worked because there was guarantees on returns. The power sector can't achieve that because it requires a functional society not the zoo we are in.

Most Nigerians believe free electricity is a birth right forgetting Electricity is a commodity that is traded. For a start the N21/kwh we are paying is absolutely horrible and unsustainable for big businesses to invest in the power sector. Secondly there are a million houses and government agencies owing thousands of Naira in fees that DISCOs can't even reach or try disconnecting.

You know why MTN paras when there is a free data cheat? Because it is a huge loss of revenue for them if it
is left unchecked and they would go bankrupt because of that.

Forget people shouting prepaid meters. Some Nigerians are greedy lots and they would try and game the system. A private firm cannot police every single house and sadly the Govt legislation is poor as regards such thefts. Sadly those people are in the majority and there's no way any sane investor would put money into such a biz. For GSM I could remotely turn off your call function if you can't pay but for electricity, except you are physically present to take control of such which brings in the elements of enforcement and trust which is non existent in the Nigerian environment. Exactly why NITEL also never succeeded and water or gas lines aren't functional in Nigeria.

It would be nice if you help the young lad. However, some of the previous comments are not out of place. Federal university education in Nigeria is relatively cheaper compared to state universities and polytechnics. My mother as a widow singlehandedly sent four of us to federal universities, at a time we were 3 in federal universities (AT THE SAME TIME). It would have been impossible if one of us was in a state school. In fact, I was in the most expensive school of all my brothers - school fees and hostel accommodation of 32k.

The point is when you consider your financial circumstances, you have to make a deliberate effort to survive. Surviving in this case means reading hard to secure a place in a federal university. If we contribute for this year, how about other years and no mention has been made of his younger siblings
I do agree that Federal Unis are much more cheaper than state Unis but what about opportunity lost?

I am looking at things from the perspective of time lost and different probabilities. I am a very logical person and I would say if you put this to calculations, he would be loosing way more than waiting for next year to gain another admission.

What are the assurances that people won't do exceedingly well and he does poorly and doesn't make the cut off. What about the sunk cost he has invested currently? I am sure he has spent nothing less than 10 to 15k to get to this point.

What are the assurances that his mum or guardian God forbid would be available and be in a capacity to even help next year. There are too many possibilities of things going wrong than right.

His predicament is rather unusual. They actually planned to pay just that Lautech switched the half payment methods for this session. We live in a jungle and in saner climes , there would have been notices for at least 2 years prior stating that from session 2020/2021 half payments won't be accepted. That gives students an heads up on how to plan better.

Surviving would be him taking this opportunity and learning that he needs to find something on the outside to help him scale through school. Most of us had to work during the semester breaks to earn our next session school fees. I have interns working with us whose earningngoes to their school fees no matter how small. They prioritise. Not use fancy phones or follow the crowd in wearing useless designers and keep a low profile. I am sure if the guy follows through diligently he won't be the first to struggle through school. We all did.
