deols: For how long do you think pcs would be in vogue? There are children being born, you know, who may never have to use pcs. They may start by using tablets and is what they will get comfortable with.

By the time your friends and you are pretty old, your grand children might be laughing at why you wouldn't embrace 'technology'
Deols. . They won't go extinct because i want them to be around but because it is the fact. Unless we can unlock the powers of nano technology and quantum computing i fear we would still have to stick with our pcs for a lot of years. Tell me how you will deal with expansion slots or added Nic's . Gaming needs, editing. Conventional keyboards and so on. I am just being realistic. I know and understand the limits of technology we have now and its not yet time to discard the pcs because there's nothing to function in their place not even your smart phones and tablets.

Deols..its just like someone telling you humans could achieve and perfect dna alteration, reconstruction in the next 50 years. Possible but not realistic yet. Or maybe someone telling me the moon could be made habitable or maybe flying cars would replace normal cars.

baba11: A company can determine the trend of anything.I have a few examples here:1)White and black tv,does pple still use it?No,why?because of the invention of coloured tv 2)Nokia fone, they were household names @ house when it comes to mobile devices, now where are they? They are gradually moving into oblivion not thanks to android,bb,China fone and ifone. All companies do not stop doing research because they know by so doing they may be force out of market.
Tvs are still tvs and i did agree that we moved from black and white to coloureds ones but they are still tvs. All i am saying is the PC would evolve i.e increased speed and all those but it ain't going anywhere. That you watch internet tv on your pc has not lead to the extinction of tvs. Thats what you need to understand. No matter the proliferation of smartphones and tablets. Personal computers would still be in vogue. For light users of computers they might find it easy to move on to tablets but to heavy and average users then not totally possible. I was working on my phone today but when i needed to do batch processing of some images i had no option that to first transfer to my system and do the work . I hope you get it. A new company can bring a new product but they can't single handedly dictate the trend of technology.
IslamRe: Ten Misconceptions Among Muslims by onegig(m): 8:17pm On Oct 27, 2013
usermane: For those who find the OP and all who support it strange. Welcome to reality. My message is not new, right from time there have existed few muslims, righteous ones that have rejected these misconceptions but unfortuanately the majority were proponents of the misconceptions and easily had their way. Today, there are more of such muslims rejecting this misconceptions, but as freedom of speech seem to be lacking here, most of them can't air their views.

As for those who tell me to go to clerics e.t.c. I don't disagree with you,but i do not completely agree with you. Think; If the clerics were so knowledgeable why do they still differ in a range of issues. The sunnis have their clerics, so do the shiites, who is the real cleric? I listen to them, but am critical of what they say. Am aware of their fallibility(Qur'an 9:31, 34). I have seen some of them who reject these misconceptions and even more which many muslims will not consider as misconception.

Abubakar Shekau(boko haram chief) is very fluent in Arabic, infact he prefers and speak Arabic over English. He is also a mullah,an imam,a sheikh, and a scholar according to his followers and most "muslims" definition of scholars.

But what happened to those his students who preferred his tafsir or fatwa as final over reading the Qur'an in English? What happened to them? They have been soiling the name of Islam in the mud. They have become a threat to Nigerians. They have become the enemy of the very religion they claim to stand for. They have become BOKO HARAM!!!.
so your problem is actually shekua? So you actually think shekua is an Islamic scholar ? Also please don't believe all those things you read on the pages of newspapers. I actually witnessed a crisis some decades back in the north and i could tell you it was purely political but what was been peddled in the newspaper was religious wars and stuff. Thats one.

Secondly, we all do disagree with these sunni and shia division. There was a thread by Sissie some weeks back where she callled lagos shia or so on his inciteful statements and his quotation of shia this shia that in all his posts. I could vividly recall most commentators didn't want to be categorised as either shia or sunni but just wanted to be known as muslims serving their lord.

beejaay: arguments in islamic section kehuh all u guys do there is behave like zombies, always afraid to offend the lord there (aka maclatinji and tbaba.. they are the lords of islamic section and all they say is final, the prophets of our time)... say anything contrary to what they say and u will be banned..

if this topic was posted on Islamic thread, almost all supporting arguments would have been banned or even have the thread banned sef....

learning ke for that islamic sectionhuh DAMN!!!!! any contrary view is banned and termed anti-islamic as if they have monopoly for islamic definition

@op u get sense for posting the thread here at the general section
Another fallacy from you. Tell me another new story. Mac and t Baba lord? Over who or whom? Anyways. You can languish in your grandeur delusion. I won't aid you. Am off to better things. Take care.
IslamRe: Ten Misconceptions Among Muslims by onegig(m): 2:55pm On Oct 27, 2013
@Username..

Me hate? I never do that. When the forum was even filled with hypocrites and all sorts i never hated anyone. Hate is a strong word. I like discussing and arguing on issues but the way you have come around with this is wrong. You aren't here to discuss. You came around passing a misconception about a misconception you feel you need to clear the air on. And you went on as if you were passing a fatwa.

You can go to the muslim section and see us argue but we argue to learn more. When issues come up and i have different views of things and someone brings a differing one. I clearly sit back and watch what he has said and look at the verses he has quoted. Serving God ain't about who's right or who's wrong. It's about following what is right and laid down.

The Prophet enjoys us to seek knowledge and question our religion on what we don't understand . But please ask yourself. Have you done this with an open mind. You seem like someone who's ashamed of his religion and is distancing himself from it. My wordof advise for you. Don't look at what the so called adherents of a religion do but what the religion says. Each verse of The Quran you quoted always comes with a fiqh that best explains the verses. Don't take them in isolation. That's the mistake most non muslims make. I have nothing to add i guess tbaba has tried to clear the air on things. I hope you would look at things more objectively.
IslamRe: Ten Misconceptions Among Muslims by onegig(m): 2:03pm On Oct 27, 2013
At all asking peeps to clarify what the op has said. There's a difference between when you don't understand something and you outrightly come out saying you are indeed knowledgeable and what you say is the utter truth even when you give feeble reasons and you coming out to seek knowledge about something you don't really understand.

Starting from the topic you would have noticed he was already determined about his knowledge and wasn't here for a discussion. If he had named the topic " misconception I have noticed about islam" that would have been better . But he is here to gain support for his follies as you can see him shaking hands and recieving praises from his fellow brethren who swallow what he has said hook, line and sinker without a thought as to what he had said. Tell me , who would be ready to enlighten such a lost fellow?

He's on here seeking attention and i guess he's got what he wants. At op... I guess you know your LORD is above and you would give account of whatever you do or say. So maybe you cut short this feel good mission of yours and return back to your senses.

Because he's been programmed like that. Its like you are talking with a wall. Ask him simple questions and he would gladly side step it and go on ,on and on saying nothing. I will advise you to ignore him. It's not worth your stress. I guess he's bored and needs someone to keep him busy and i trust you have much important things than that. Salam.

marry? Nope not yet. But we both still living happily ever after..

Truth is, it works best when you guys both have no inclination of dating or meeting. You tend to be honest and first be genuine friends with no emotions. And from then on it takes just one partner to lead the other on into a relationship or something thats more than a friend..

See? Love is not physical, you just made my day!!
Aso ebi? Hmmm. That would come a bit later. But to God be the glory. She was more than what i bargained for. Truly...love exists in so many ways. But i guess most need the physical attraction first before they fall. But wait you forget about most on air presenters. ..you fall in love with their personalities even though they are hidden behind your tiny radio box.

Baba Oyo: What a great place to unwind on a Sunday morning.
Have this thought in y mind.
Is it possible to fall in love with someone you never met?
For example Cdamsel fall in love with Roy, maybe because of his style of talking online. What if he is not so vocal on real life?
Have anyone of you fallen in love with an online personality before?

Before una answer, let me tell you about my experience in the 80's. When we used to have pen-pals across the world.
We write letters to different people across he world. I met quite a lot of good international friends then.
A particular woman from Norway was very regular with hwe response to my letters.. I started feeling drawn to her. But suddenly she stopped writing. I was always expecting her mail but it just stopped coming.
I felt heart broken by someone I met bbefore. This got me thinking why should I be feeling like this about someone I never met?

Hmmm....anonymous loving exist in y opinion.
It happens. Talking from CNN iwitness..lol Never met her physically but was totally drawn to her . I was so at ease with her, i could tell her my deepest secrets. It was mutual- as she felt the same way.

And a beautiful thread was derailed by people's comments. Why do you always want to be anti? I understand you might want to be different and not conform to peoples standards or reasoning but going gangster on the op is a bad choice. One mistake i ever made on Nairaland was to follow that handle. Woke up the next morning to see 100 posts of people you are following. I was like wow..let me check. And guess what it was usual shenanigans and comments that can't benefit one. I had to un follow asap.

@op . Things happen. Like other posters have said. Try and appreciate what you have and work towards getting the house completed. And don't expect a complete make over over night. Even your dedicated 1000 naira per month contribution towards the project would go a long way in helping.
