What is the essence of these towers that will gulp all these billions? When will our leaders realize that projects should have a meaningful purpose? Please let someone tell Rochas to feel the heartbeat of his people and provide meaningful development- create self-sustaining industries, renovate schools and health centres build roads and provide water. I am very sure that most Imolites will vote against centenary towers(whatever that means) if they had a say. |
Was that a question or what? Are you from outer space? Why would a sensible human from Nigeria ask who Ojukwu is? |
Who is a pagan? A person who does not know God; which God? Our problem as a nation was and is still caused by the same people who forced their religion on us and labelled African religious practices paganism. That statement is fallacy. |
Ndi Imo need to open their eyes wide before the evil flood sweeps us all away. When those that should know and direct others are blinded by abracadabra, then there is huge trouble. I just laugh when people express the wish that Nigeria should be run by Imo governor. They should be careful what they wish for because they just might get it. ROCHAS IS ENERGETIC, PASSIONATE AND AMBITIOUS, SO HE WORKS! Yes he works, but his projects have no real worth because he just dabbles into things without careful planning. He is reckless and too flippant and vain for a leader. He is a master of double-speak and policy somersault. In one instant he tells us he has never borrowed a Kobo to run the state. Next minute, we hear he has borrowed much more than his predecessors. Somethings are more serious that sentiments. I wonder how a governor can stand before a crowd and tell them that he does not believe in due process. I just wonder. |
Wow, this dame must be lame in the brain. |
sounds like he's in a champagne mood. Well, may her soul rest in peace |
Sad commentary on the follies of religion. Wake up and face the truth, my dear friends. Watching movies cannot initiate you into sorcery if you do not want to be initiated. The worst problem of religion is that they love to use FEAR as an instrument of control. By the time they are done with their hapless CAPTIVES(converts), they have lost their basic human reasoning. That is why fanatics are like feather blown about by flimsy, unreasonable directives from so-called religious leaders. GREAT PITY |
One Nigeria is a farce, a big lie we have been trained to tell ourselves. Time to wake up to reality. |
These prophets sef! NA WAO! |
Lucky him. He found himself among very gullible people. He has the anointing to liberate people from poverty like someone said, yet most of the members are struggling with poverty. Pity. |
Nigerians are like chicks deprived of mother-hen's protection. They are prone to all kinds of blunders and consequently exposed to all kinds of ill-treatment(mainly for crimes committed) anywhere in the world. Our defective system is to blame. Only a wholistic cure will save us. |
Oh, i am sooo loving this fire-brand woman. Bring it on, madam. Let Maku and his boss step into the arena if they dare. Jisike, nwa afo. |
Mercy Johnson! No comparison. |
I wish they would be serious, as in serious about banning those sweetened poisons. Unfortunately, i don't think they are sincere because some of these high-profile politicians are the same people that import these drinks and other harmful substances. Nigeria is one of the largest dump sites for unwholesome products in the world. Once the hands of the greedy leaders are adequately greased, they throw our borders open for all kinds of stuff. I'm surprised some of us do not understand the gravity of this matter. |
If you really think there are no cults in the primary school, you have to think again and look closely around you. I know of a nine-year old who was approached by her mate to join a group, but first she asked her, 'can you keep a secret?' This happened in a decent school. As for the public schools, water don pass garri. I know of public primary schools where full-blown cult activities are practiced. As for books, look at the literature texts. Some approved books are unpublishable materials. Our education sector is failed and a state of emergency should be declared in that area if our government is sincere. |
Playing big brother while the home base burns? |
1. Teachers in our schools are generally low-grade, poorly motivated, ill-equipped for their sacred duty. 2. Exam malpractice has become a culture; the most important friend to students. Even teachers are products and fans of the monster. 3. WAEC, NECO, JAMB and every other exam body thrives on the proceeds of exam malpractice, yet we have a government in place 4. Cult activities blossom in the primary schools right now. All imaginable acts of hooliganism are perpetrated by young children, sometimes under the supervision of one or two shameless teachers. 5. University teachers belittle themselves before their students by selling grades for money or sex. Yet we have establishments that should check the activities of these criminal and abominable lecturers. 6. Books to be recommended for study in schools are selected on the basis of financial gratification and not quality as Officials of the ministry of education reek of graft. 7. Parents connive with corrupt teachers at every level to buy results and certificates for their children. 8. The government is guilty of criminal negligence. They sit at ease in the government houses and luxurious offices while our future burns Concerned parents who can afford it quickly send their children to quality schools abroad or in Nigeria. Is this really the solution we need? Will these privileged children not come back to meet the rot they are running away from? What is the way out? Who is to blame? |
So where is all the money budgetted for police institutions over the years? Failed country. |
Frankly, i don't see anything worth celebrating about a country like ours. I will like to celebrate Nigeria whenever it becomes possible to say that for one full day, every part of Nigeria enjoyed uninterrupted power supply and water supply through the public taps. But of course, the ruling class must find ways to celebrate their victory over the masses. I wish them luck. |
We are victims. If we had a good country that looks out for the welfare of her citizens, foreigners would not be able to maltreat us in our own land. PITY!! |
Rochas is busy being who he has always been; helping the gullible masses to get over their mass craze for the glimmer he came with. R---ROGUE OF THE CENTURY O---OBTAINED THE GOVERNORSHIP BY ADVANCED TRICKS C--- CLUELESSNESS PERSONIFIED, CONFUSION EXPERT, CONQUERS BY PROPAGANDA H---HOODWINKS THE CROWD BY CHEAP GESTURES A---ATTRACTIVE FACIALS TO MASK REAL INTENTIONS S---SLIPPERY, SINCERITY DEFICIENCY, SOULLESS Ala Imo na-achu ndi mpu oso. Anyi na-eche ka iko ya ju, oso emeekwa ozo. Rochas mara asu, ya suo n'ikwe, ya achoghi, ya suo n'apata ukwu ya. Ndi na-aguru ya egwu, gurukwanu na-aga, ka onye iberibe na-awujikwanu ukwu. |
Nollywood practitioners are their own greatest enemies. They are greedy to a fault and that is what fuels piracy. How can they split a short film into four or six pats and expect their consumers to keep buying them? It' annoying. Any alternative is welcome |
She cannot be the world's oldest person. There are older people in our villages here. Just that we have not learnt how to make noise about such things that will affect the cost of garri in the market. I' m happy for her, shaa. |
I thought these praise-singers wanted to say something concrete. You seriously want us to take the promises of Rochas seriously. What happened to the daily stipends he promised school children? What about the school uniforms, school books, school bags, etc? What about the pensioners who were promised heaven and given only heartbreaks? What about the promise that he would complete all unfinished projects of previous administrations? Are you aware that Imo state has about the worst network of roads in the entire country, all thanks to his myopia? HE IS SO OBSESSED WITH HIS HATRED OF THE PAST GOVERNORS THAT HE HAS LEFT MAJOR ROADS IN OWERRI TO BECOME DEATH TRAPS. Find yourselves another job because Rochas is a bad market right now; very difficult to sell. |
Imo state is really unfortunate when it comes to governance. The chaos the governor and his convoys have created in the state cannot be quantified. Following his example, everyone who is remotely connected to governance goes about chasing other road users out of the road with sirens. The level of power drunkenness in this administration is unprecedented. GREAT PITY. Two people who hold the people's mandates are busy fighting dirty while the state burns. GREAT PITY! Leaders scramble for supremacy when the once-cleanest capital city is gradually turned into one huge refuse dump. GREAT PITY! The local governments in the state lie comatose while the leaders enjoy their fights. The hospitals are in a sorry state. The schools are suffering from government negligence. GREAT PITY! Has anybody been to School Road lately? The market end can best be described a refuse hill. Ditto Orji, World bank, Amakohis, Aladimma, Ikenegbu, etc. Someone should please tell our leaders that we expect more dignified conduct from them. |
It is wrong to be irreverent towards God. It is even wrong to disrespect fellow men. However, no one can say he understands the reason behind tragedies. It is not as simple as this picture you have painted. There have been people who said such horrible things about God, but did not die tragically. There have also been cases of devout Christians who met with terrible and tragic deaths. In such cases, the preachers will say that God knows best. When it happens to someone outside the fold, it becomes a big issue. Truth is, we are all groping for the light. It's obvious that God decided to keep his identity from us. We will do well to respect his wish and do our best to live good lives. |

I am not an atheist. I know there must be God somewhere. This earth could not have been an accident. However, i do not believe in organized religion. Each one claims that they know the name of God, He told them this or that, He is a member of their sect and other such nonsense. That is where i beg to differ. The worship of God should not be a group affair. Individuals can only develop their spirituality by relating to God personally. Joint belief breeds nothing but hypocrisy because the individual's belief clashes with the group's belief, but he has to hide his true convictions in order to belong. |
It is not strange. It is simply natural. We don't also have to thank Satan(whoever he is) because he was not the one that put our instincts in us. It was God who gave us the ability to know what we like and what we don't like. The birds like to fly and chirp. That is perfectly normal. Try bringing them together to listen to some talk about heaven for two long hours and you will understand that it is not strange for us to feel this way. God enjoys our worshiping him naturally, and not in some straight jacket religion. |
[quote author=Onyegecha]My dear friend, you are not indebted to God; can never be. He does not require any tithe from you. All you need to do is to free your mind from this shackle of the mind which religious folks have effectively used to enslave millions over the years. Serve God with your substance, but it must be from your heart, not in obedience to any compelling law. Do good, serve humanity and give as much as you can to fellow men, and God is pleased with you. Even the Bible says so in so many places. cheers |
samm_miey: Pls nairalanders I need an advice on tithing as I dnt knw wot to do!is it mandatory to pay tithe as an individual stil dwelling under parents roof and yet to get a job?A circumstance where d parents are still the bread winners source of income, can an individual stil pay tithe out of d chicken feeds he gets 4rm demMy dear friend, you are not indebted to |
I wonder how you define hate and haters. If hate means sticking to the truth, so be it. If Gov. Okorocha wants to revive something, let him do so at Avutu poultry and other establishments that have been moribund, not Adapalm that was very operational before he came. We cannot keep swallowing these lies forever. For your info, tell him that every lie has an expiry date. He has managed to keep some people mesmerized with his oratory but it will not last much longer. The only way out is to start working sincerely now for Imolites. |
?wot are the implications on denial, what are the pros&cons?
