JUST ONE SCHOOL, HOPE YOU KNOW. All the pictures captured are just one school that was strategically located for political abracadabra. You can fool some of the people some of the times, but be sure that Rochas cannot fool Imo people all the time. His apologists on this site and elsewhere can only confuse a few persons with their lies, but truth must prevail eventually. |
Many people are refusing to toe the path of truth and so they deceive people on this site. Imo State is sinking day by day and someone is asking us to rejoice rather than find a solution to our predicament. Okorocha has sold Imo state and i wonder how many decades it will take successive administrations to repair the damages done by this administration in just two years. He has borrowed so much money using local govt allocation as collateral. Too many shady deals that will set Imo state economy back for many years long after he has left office. His projects are senseless and give the impression that he only uses them as channels to siphon money. His greed is unquenchable. He speaks before he thinks such that Imo state is currently swimming in confusion. We need to pray for rescue not celebrate rescue. For my brothers who stay far and assess Imo government, you need to know that all that glitters is not gold. |
Tribalism is the bane of this contraption called Nigeria. This post should be one that unites every one on the site because of the truth the OP stated. Why can't we ever bury this ethnic bickering and speak with one voice against our oppressors? The ruling class in the East, West, North and South have the same criminal inclination so the battle is between the ruling class and the masses, not Igbo and Yoruba, Hausa or whatever. |
Many state governors are doing something about education. However, all indicators point to a steady decline in education. Let us consider the following points and assess our governors objectively: 1. Efforts in curbing examination malpractice in the state 2. Teachers' discipline and retraining 3. Positive Policies and implementation 4. Effective supervision at every level 5. School building revolution 6. Provision of essential school materials |
They know that religion is one strong instrument of control which deals with the minds of men rather than just their bodies. This means that those who know how to use it can wield more influence over men than even political gurus of any age. Political influence is usually short-lived and peripheral but having control over the minds of a multitude defines awesome power. Most people can criticize their political leaders publicly or in private, but cannot say one negative word about their religious leaders even in their innermost chambers. Their minds have been conditioned to revere these men almost as much as God. This explains why many ridiculous ideologies and doctrines that fail woefully to pass the test of common sense are swallowed wholly by even very intelligent people. Organizers of religion know that a lot is at stake, so they give it their all. They research into new and more effective methods of enslaving the greatest number of people at a time. This explains why many wars have been fought over religion and tonnes of blood wasted in the course of defending or fighting for one faith or the other. That is why the quest for the divine and holy has been in a messy state for centuries and will likely remain so unless men decide to wake up and realize that they do not have to succumb to the blackmail of having to give their souls to one religious group or the other. Men must take back their brains from religious leaders and begin to think for themselves. Is it not odd that right from the cradle, people's minds and brains are surrendered to these temples to be manipulated, thus making it almost impossible for these people to stand aside and take an unbiased look at these institutions? That is where Africa come in. |
The various places of worship come alive on designated days of the week as the faithful flock into them to fulfill their religious obligations to their God. Anyone that is not found in one temple or the other is considered odd in some societies, and evil in some others. This brings to the fore the essence and place of such religious gatherings. We know for a fact that human beings have a natural urge to worship the maker of heaven and earth. The truth is that no one needs to be persuaded to acknowledge that there is a great being behind this marvelous universe we inhabit. Nature teaches us that. Before the advent of organized religion and their magnificent temples, we have records and even memories of men worshiping God spontaneously, especially when the works of His hands overwhelmed them. People bowed before the glamour of the setting sun and rising sun. People were moved from their hearts to offer things of value before a great body of water in appreciation of the wonderful works of God. Some people knelt before a mighty tree to express their awe. These were genuine acts of reverence from sincere hearts devoid of any coercion or force. Those were the days when men had not discovered the business angle of worship. But now they know. |
I weep for my country. Every evil thrives here because we have no shepherd. Most things that will not be allowed in markets abroad are pushed to Nigeria where everything goes. Is it any wonder that we keep witnessing unreasonable deaths? Who will save us from this wanton destruction of man and nature from the cancerous hands of evil? |
I have it on good authority that all these desert apples, foreign grapes and the guava-like pears that currently flood our markets and go for abominably high prices are all genetically modified foods brought in from South Africa. |
Abagworo, i am glad to tell you that i am not lying. Even the one single school he has built in the heart of town is not comparable to any of these ones in Rivers state because utility was obviously considered first rather than political motivations. Amaechi thought of everything- playgrounds, classroom convenience , school materials, security, updated teachers, etc. Rochas thought of political convenience and overbuilt a piece of land just to impress passers by. All the other places where you see the prefabricated structures, they stand as skeletons beside dilapidated structures of yesteryears. They are just there to make people believe that their governor is working for them. There is no genuine education reform going on in my dear state. FULLSTOP. |
Abagworo, Abagworo, Abagworo, how many times did i call you? Please look before you leap into wrong conclusions. Agbaa mbu, ya atuo n'ogwe, a gbaa abuo, ya atuo n'ogwe, e kworo ogwe pia aku? Why must our governor always be in the news for such acts of brigandage? If he is not slapping a protocol officer to a fellow governor, he is ordering the beating up of a senator's driver. He flagrantly abuses traffic rules, beats up the gate man for not opening the gate fast enough. HABA! It seems we enthroned Lawlessness the day Okorocha was sworn in as governor. Rather than cook up lies for damage control, his supporters should try to reach him and advise him to grow up and act like the first citizen of the state and not like a street tout. |
Imo state ha only one school building to show the world. Teachers still have to buy their chalk in most public schools. No textbooks used in the classrooms. I wonder why you mention the state alongside others that are experiencing educational reforms. |
I thought Edo was faring better under Oshiomhole. My own lamentations go out for Imo state where empty noise is drowning the truth: where hollowness is traded for concrete achievements. Kudos to Amaechi. Please can someone show us the ultramodern health centres he built? |

Africa would have been fine without the white locusts invading us. Who told you they came with the right God? Think well, my friend and stop looking at the world through the lenses of the whiteman. |
Debrain20, please use your brain. It's not for fancy. If this mistake called Okorocha rules Imo again, i weep for the Eastern Heartland. |
COOLDUN, you talk like a paid agent. Tell your master. the comedian in chief of Imo state that his antics will not be enough to deceive Imo people again. By the way, is this what leadership is all about? Are you aware that the People of Imo state are living in abject poverty while his extended family members and cronies are smiling to the banks. If you are not a pathetic bootlicker, then endeavour to open your eyes and your thinking facilities and help save Imo from the most deceitful and exploitative leadership ever. |
The more you look, the less you see! Since his campaign days when he lifted some cripples as a show of love, can someone tell us what positive thing he has done for the disabled in the state? They even had to stage a world-class protest to express their anger. What has he done for the thousands of youths who have to chase moving vehicles to sell their wares? What program has he conceived to get the crowd of beggars off the streets? What about the multitude of strange sicknesses that are on display and which some uniformed people now use to make money on the streets of Owerri? Understanding the antics of Rochas is the only thing that will save the suffering and smiling masses of Imo state. For those who are deceived by cheap shows, it's a pity. Does that corn roaster not deserve a better life THAN STAYING BY A FLY-INFESTED GUTTER all day long? My dear governor uses everything as showbiz. PITY! |
In Imo, the rule of thumb is that the more you look, the less you see. I advise all those who are dreaming of seeing Rochas in the Douglas house beyond 2015 to try and look beyond the surface. The raw truth is that Imo state is burning while the world cheers. Virtually every sector of the state is in coma. The citizens are groaning under the burden of hardship. The public service is getting set for another strike action to press for their rightful entitlements which have been put in the cooler since the rescue mission madness started. Imo workers receive about the lowest salary in the country, but the world has been made to think differently. All the communities in the state are embroiled in crises because of the so-called community govt council. No single system is working except road construction in some selected areas. Imolites must shine their eyes because something really sinister is happening in the government house right now. |
Does megalomania have a cure? |
Yes, he understands the importance of agriculture by talking about it. Where are these farms where the youths will work? What practical steps has Rochas taken to show he has a passion for agricultural development? The only thriving agricultural establishment that he could have revamped and made to employ young people, he destroyed by the so-called privatization, the consequence of which was mass sack of workers in Adapalm. Avutu poultry is still begging for attention. There is no single CGC FARM THAT HE HAS DEVELOPED, so why deceive Imo youths? No wonder the umbrella body of youth groups in the state shunned his call and warned their members not to go for the senseless show. They went out of desperation, and no one is better for it. |
I laugh in Arabic. The sword is turning inwards after getting drunk on Biafran blood. The war front has changed location because the gods of justice are awake. I feel sorry for the poor people of Northen Nigeria, but it appears that payback time has come. |
Some areas of Imo state observed the sit-at-home order, but there was activity in most parts of the state. |
The level of compliance shows that Igbo people can act in one accord given the right direction. MASSOB should step up their game and provide correct leadership and watch more Igbo people fall in line. I congratulate the sons of the rising sun and urge them to do more in the path of self actualization without infringing on other people's rights. Onyeaghalanwanneya! Igbo kwenu! |
Nation building is all about creating functional systems. The human body works because all the organs are structured to form systems that perform specific functions. Without the essential communication and co-ordination between all the organs, there will be no human organism. The same applies to building a healthy society. Many people have expressed the desire that the Imo state governor is qualified to be the president of Nigeria, or at least deserves a second tenure as governor. Please, can you assess his performance so far on the basis of functional systems, viz: Education, health, waste management, workers' welfare, water generation and distribution, conflict resolution, management of state resources, harnessing human resources, human development, etc. Objective and unbiased comments will help to enthrone the truth, which alone can set us free. |
NAFDAC under Dora Akunyili and the NAFDAC of today, which one has more bite? I find myself wishing for a return of those days when the name Dora sent hot shivers down the spines of evil men who made it their profession to slowly kill people with all kinds of adulterated products. What is NAFDAC up to in this dispensation? |
What is happening to Imo Concord Hotel? There are strong indications that the hotel has hit the rocks after several months of neglect and abuse. A guest who lodged in the hotel had to call relatives outside to get him water for a bath. He also requested for some candles because for days now, the hotel is at the mercy of the merciless PHCN. Though the immediate neighbours of Concord are happy to be spared the unbearable noise of those monstrous generators, but one cannot help wondering how the mighty have fallen in the rescue mission state. |
The voice of men is the voice of God. No sentiments, the law of karma is very potent till tomorrow. You can gloat and boast of all you have acquired by breaking people's hearts, but remember that you MUST pay for every drop of tear that people shed because of you. You will pay for every agony you caused. If i were you, i would be ashamed to say i own this and that by defrauding people. Shame on any decent woman that condescends to marry a known crook, unless of course you also tricked her into such a cursed union. |
I like what Shokoloko said about destroying cans after use. It may shock you to know that even products like Milo, Bournvita and powdered milk are produced in people's backyards once they can lay hands on the empty cans. Someone once pointed out to me the difference between original and fake Peak choco sachets. He said he knows where they make those fake ones in Aba. Orlu is also notorious for fake products ranging from drugs, cosmetics, wines, soft drinks and other beverages. We need to do more than destroy empty cans to stop this menace. |
I was shocked to learn from a very reliable source, that palm oil sold in our markets is heavily adulterated with some reddish substances. The so-called vegetable oils are even worse. Who knows whether saw dust is mixed into our garri? What about the bread we consume that is made with poisonous chemicals? The point is that NAFDAC and other regulatory agencies should save Nigerians from the hands of greedy men who value money above life. Matters of this nature are not left to people's consciences because unscrupulous men must be stopped by uncompromising agents of the law. Share what you know about this practice in your area. |
VERY BEAUTIFUL POEM. GOD SAVE MAIDUGURI! |
I can't help wondering why the issue of gay marriage is treated like a political or diplomatic issue. Why on earth should foreign powers pressurize countries that need aid to legalize gay marriage as a condition for any kind of assistance? Please can someone throw more light on this? |
Why did the acting VC of IMSU quickly get rid of the end product of the miseducation that is going on at the university? Is it not obvious that it takes half-baked lecturers to produce half-baked students. It also takes corrupt school administrators to condone corrupt lecturers who are better described as marks merchants. The students of IMSU and many other universities in this country are misguided, drifting, wasting, but remember, they are victims of a bad system. Let things be done right and the students will act right. If no lecturer accepts sorting, no student will sort. They will be forced to read. I will be happy to hear that 10 lecturers of IMSU have been sacked because they were caught selling books to students at exorbitant prices, or forcing young girls to sleep with them for marks. Prof., start from the head and not at the tail. |
Thank you, my dear but basin cannot be udu(musical instrument or water pot) . Even bucket is not ite by any stretch of the imagination. cheers |
