Billyonaire: Motor Cycle was not invented as a means of transportation. It should be banned totally. When one door closes another one opens. Sincere 9gerian: All these BLOOD SHED is another calculated attempt by the hausa-fulanis to bomb their way into Aso Rock. The hausa-fulanis cannot survive for one second outside of free govt money. The boko haram onslaught is calculated to create a fertile ground for a military COUP. We have passed this road before. The pogrom over what they called "Igbo coup", the civil war and other series of events that ended up giving power to the hausa-fulanis on a platter. Today, the police, army, customs and other armed forces are dominated by hausa-fulanis courtesy of the long period of military rule. Their domination of the armed forces resulted in INCOMPETENT armed forces. Can you imagine ordinary rats that call themselves boko haram having the audacity to attack a facility in a military barrack? This is a big SHAME. Every Nigerian solder should bow his or her head in shame. Even an ordinary person without military training but who is security conscious would have done better.
But I have a message for the hausa-fulanis. You succeeded in killing your way to the seat of power in years past but you can NEVER succeed this time. Any attempt to forcefully seize power at the centre will result in CATASTROPHIC civil war that will bring Nigeria to an end. No ethnic group has monopoly of violence. The scenerio that played out in Mali recently cannot work here. Nobody can bomb us to submission. Other ethnic groups cannot be slaves to hausa-fulanis.
The FOOLS on NL who still joke about the onslaught by the hausa-fulanis should better wake-up. This is not about Jonathan's incompetence. This is about a tribe that believes it must be in power at ALL COST. This is about a tribe that believes it has MONOPOLY of violence. We all saw what played out in Mali. The democratically elected govt was overthrown in a coup by officers who believed the president wasn't doing much to stop islamic militants in the north of Mali (the SAME WAY SOME BELIEVE JONATHAN HASN'T DONE ENOUGH TO STOP BOKO HARAM). What happened after the coup? The same coup plotters who removed the sitting president could not stop the Islamic militants either. In fact under their watch, the militants effectively over-run and took COMPLETE control of Northern Mali. This is why I said, this onslaught by Boko haram is not about incompetence of GEJ. What really can GEJ do? GEJ can only work with the tool he has on ground, which is the INCOMPETENT armed forces, populated by hausa-fulanis, many of which are sympathetic to boko haram political agenda. However, every other tribe in Nigeria must rise and condemn this current onslaught by hausa-fulanis, or else we'r in danger of being slaves in our own country.

As we talk about the issue of unity in the country, a Fulani chief, Alhaji Gidado Ibrahim, the Ardo Fulani of Suleja, has called for inter-tribal marriages among youth corps members to foster unity among Nigerians. Ibrahim made the call in an interview when he visited the NYSC 2012 batch C corps members posted to Abuja at the FCT Orientation Camp, Kubwa.

Ibrahim said inter-tribal marriages among corps members’ would bridge barriers that existed between the various Nigerian societies. According to him, the marriages must be encouraged to bring people from different sections of the country together without recourse to thinking that something will happen to the spouses in a particular section of the country.

In his words, “My first child married a Yoruba lady, they are living peacefully in Sokoto with three children and they met during their NYSC primary assignment in Oyo State in 2003… My in-laws in the South never think of their child being killed or molested during any civil strife because they know that she is safe here,’’ he said.

The Fulani chief also called for the overhaul of the new NYSC policy of posting corps members to only four sectors: health, education, agriculture and infrastructure. He said: “I pity the state NYSC offices. Like in Abuja, how many agricultural outfits do we have that can contain at least 1,000 corps members that were to be posted to agric sector for their primary assignment.’’

The ban in Delta State was Complete (in Warri and Asaba) while in Lagos, it is on "on 475 roads out of 9,000 roads". Hope you see the difference in approach.

Okada is a menace that should be gotten rid off in all major cities..

irohadis: I could not believe the number of people who were in support of the ban before now. I reasoned then that these are people who have cars and drivers, the elite. But I also knew from the nature of the infrastructure in Lagos, that the hurt will be universal. Even Fashola will not find the way to clear the cars off the road so he can pass. I am flying in a bicycle for my Magodo to Ikeja commute.

How does it even correlate anyway? Yes, no okada means longer bus queues but to say it means more traffic doesn't add up.

pythonwizpro: The Joint Task Force have killed 13 members of a gang suspected of abducting a Turkish man in an early morning raid on their hideout in oil-producing Rivers state, police said on Saturday.

A 20 million naira ($127,600) ransom was paid for the release of Bayram Karakus, who worked for the Rivigo Construction company, Rivers police spokesman Ben Ugwuegbulam told a news agency.

He gave no details of what happened to the Turkish man.

“A combined team of operatives … stormed the militant camp of a notorious gang also responsible for kidnapping, armed robbery, killing of policemen and civilians in the recent past,” Ugwuegbulam said.

“In the ensuing gun battle six of the hoodlums were fatally wounded … seven of the wounded died on the way to hospital.”

Ugwuegbulam said the police recovered N98,900, the bags used to deliver the ransom, six AK 47 rifles and ammunition in the raid on Friday.

The raid was said to be carried out around 2:50 AM in Kaani community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
