Hello doc, good morning. I had a fight with someone about 6 weeks ago which i had a bruised left eye from. A week after, i started experiencing gritty / sand like feeling in my left eye, pain when exposed to bright lights, red eye and blurry vision, all on that particular eye. I visited a reputable pharmacy and was given eye drops (allerex & diclofenac), fleming, vitamin c and multivitamin (visionace). After a month of usage, my bruised eye feels fine and the blurry vision is almost gone. But i noticed for a week now, i started seeing single streak/ray of light from street lights at night on my other unaffected eye.. what could be the problem?? It doesn't hurt though i feel like my eyes are a little dry when i wake up most times. Thanks

the best advice i can give you is that you go for an eye check . Something bad you aint aware of may be developing. Sometimes it takes a while for the aftermath effects of trauma to the eyes to be noticed. Please do visit an eye clinic

I haven't gone for appointment since the last strike started and ended. But i still use the "Duosopt" eye drop the opthamologist recommended months ago after i was told to stop using Betaxolol.

try see your doc as soon as you can to identify the likely cause of your saggy eye lid

Please does anti-glaucoma eye drops affect the elasticity of the eye lid? My eye lid is sagging.

prostaglandin analogues can cause that but not very common side effect . I am good . How have you been ?

The woman only used him to accomplish her set goal which was 'getting married': she never saw him as a partner to grow with. I do not know if the guy married her for her money too. Guys should realize that at a certain age, gettin married is a top priority for most ladies and because it is their personal goal, they wouldn't mind agreeing to certain things which they were never comfortable with so as to achieve their set goal which is; ''getting married'' . Guys should be careful when choosing a spouse especially if they intended marrying in a broke state. Women are not natural providers no matter how much they earn; rather, they are nurturers (just give them the resources and they ll take care of you and the family) . it isnt their natural role to provide for the family and making them do this for too long would make them start to resent and loose regard for you since you are not meeting up with your primary responsibility (which is to protect and provide for the family). Failing in your primary duty of providing sends the interpretation that you are a weak man and not capable of leading the family. They step in and begin to assume headship of the family ; and at this point, it's either the man succumbs to her or the family unit scatters. My advice to guys marrying in a broke state is , you should have a plan to level up in the first few years (either by increasing your hustle, or using her resources / connections at your disposal ). Do not marry a woman that would put more financial pressure on you ( for instance, making you live a lifestyle that is above your means eg getting an appartment your income cannot pay its rent and the likes of such ); so you could have resources to help you grow while married to her . If getting married doesn't make your life easier , it tells you married the wrong person.
On the other hand, some men get too comfortable and become relaxed when the woman does the provision for the family and hope it remains that way. It's not gonna last for too long before she starts sending you the signals that you aint worthy of being the head of the home.
Only a few women would not make it a big deal and still regard you well as head when they are providers
Lastly be a good man to your woman o especially if they are supportive . Please treat them well by all means

So doctor I thought IOP test is enough to know if ocular pressure is too low.
Does corneal thickness has to be measured to establish low IOP? In spite of IOP being 5mmHg in the affected eye?

corneal thickness does influence iop results. When the cornea is thicker than normal , it gives a higher reading than the actual iop and when it's thinner, it gives a lower result than the actual pressure in the eye. Measuring the corneal thickness helps u to know the true iop

He was referred so he could be tested to check for any systemic disorders or anomalies, like blood sugar or cholesterol levels. Or any type of inflammation because the man himself kept saying he doesn't feel sick or unwell in any way.
I believe blood work and other necessary tests will reveal what is actually going on with him.

I honestly thought hypotony was the reason for the accelerated cataract formation.

what was the iop in that eye ? Was the corneal thickness measured before establishing an ocular hypotony ? Could it be he had a blunt trauma to that eye a long time ago and he possibly had forgotten ? you guys should have him do a Bscan to rule out an ocular tumour too. I wish you guys success as you find answers to your uncle's predicament

HIs concerns aren't invalid though but since you are naturally intoverted, I think it's a very valid explanation to why it is you appear not to be close to them. if you look behind the pupil, it is very clearly opaque. Even without use of instrument. The whiteness of the lens is visible.

He said he wasn't sick and didn't suffer any type of ocular trauma and wasn't on drugs before it started.
He just noticed one eye getting progressively worse, he was thinking its something that will resolve on own until it became completely cloudy that's when he got worried

then we may start considering the possibility of a tumour having ruled out other possible causes

It's definitely cataract. But in one eye.

no it doesn't. I only recommended doing a lipid profile test because of the corneal arcus. I feel he's a little too young to have developed it by now . it isn't very common to see it in people of that age from clinical experience. Is the cataract mature ? You didnt provide answers to the other questions

Good day . HOw do you know the cloudiness is caused by cataract?unless the cataract is mature, there's no way you can tell except you examine the eye with an instrument. iF it is cataract , you cannot be too sure that it's in just one eye. It could be in both eyes but probably worse in one eye. Any history use of steroidal drug ? what's the nature of the person's job? Any thing spectacular happen to the eyes; probably an inflammation?Have him do a lipid profile test aswell . However , much cannot be done online unless he's examined in person

I am not a vet but in relating it to the human eye , it seems to be a corneal ulcer and it could take a while to get better even with the right antibiotics. Make sure you act fast and ensure it's a knowledgeable vet you are using so he / she prescribes you the right med

Her use of fowl languages on you tells that she doesn't really respect you. If you can endure such in marriage and overlook such, by all means , go ahead but know that people do not really change after marriage. i tire o. She's having a problem because of this status issue in the head of many nigerians. There should only be a problem if the guy is an irresponsible person and with questionable character. He being a driver doesn't make him less of a human than you are . Even the person forming class /status today could loose everything if life happens to him or her ( it has happened and would continue to happen) . We should practice whatever religion we favour as private worship and, most importantly, let others do same.

Our relationship with religion in Nigeria is hypocritical, fraudulent and ineffective.

Ultimately, in this day and age, religion is not essential to the success or failure of a man. His his life or his environment.

the problem is when people put religion above humanity. I think this is the major problem in the way we practice our religion(s) in this part of the world
