Please I have an uncle that has been treating diabetes for over ten years. He was not taking his drugs in the beginning for up to 7 years so that one made his eye sight worse. Now he can't see well and read or drive. But presently he takes his drugs religiously and his blood sugar is always below 7.
He is fifty four.
His optometrist asked him to visit tulsi chanrai eye center because there are opthalmologists that can inject his eye and prevent further damage.

Please is there any other advise you can give to help restore his eyes to the way it was?

I know he has seen an optometrist before but you seem to be very knowledgeable and experienced so I think you can have better advice for us.

diabetes could come with a number of eye complications . If he's having a diabetic retinopathy already , it's actually a good advise he sees an ophthalmogist for management. The management approach depends on the stage of the disease. Vision may improve but there's no guarantee to the extent of improvement and the prognosis depends on quite a number of factors. It's a good thing he's trying to control his sugar but he definitely needs to see an ophthalmogist. as soon as he can . I wish him good luck

there are a number of conditions that might be responsible for these symptoms. We ll have to rule out a latent refractive error , dry eye disease; possibly evaporative , then assess your anterior chamber angle . I strongly suspect either of the first two . You should visit another clinic and get a second opinion

This type of person would never want people under them to be better . Every human is deserving of respect . Life happens to her and she is a maid doesn't make you more of a human than she is. If you were good and you treated her well , she wouldn't have issues still respecting you even while married to your father inlaw. You are a proud person , go work on it . Please my eyes ache a lot when exposed to bright light
I get pain in front of the eyes and headaches too. The eyes also tear up easily when this ache comes. Eye pain can also just come up randomly even inside house like yesterday it was not there until afternoon or just started randomly.
There is also redness too severe redness and I see rainbow around light. My eye pressure is ok, the last optometrist I saw told me my eye pressure is ok and my back of eye is ok. They have me malvidex and diclogenta but the symptoms go away temporarily and return again.

Please what can be the problem?

when these happen, do you get nauseated aswel? do you come down with headaches when you stay on your phone and computers for a while? How about when you read? Does your eye feel peppery/ burning? Does it feel like it's dry sometimes?

there's no cure to glaucoma . It can only be managed so there isn't further loss of vision from the disease. The management varies depending on the type of glaucoma and stage of the disease

the sun may not really have a direct effect on what you are experiencing . It may be you are having a binocular vision problem . You should visit an eye clinic to have it looked at

You are rather promoting single parenting without considering its impact on the child , i think a study on the effect of single parenting on child raising should be done if it hasn't. It's quite challenging for both parent to raise a child how much more when it's done by just one parent . In the end the society suffers largerly from the effect of poorly raised kids. I know it's quite challenging for people approaching menopause and unmarried but there are responsible men out there that wouldn't mind raising a family with such persons if they care to lower their standards a bit . There are responsible men out there that would want to get married but can't , majorly for economic reasons . I ll also like to advise ladies in their prime to settle down with a responsible man if raising a family is quite important to them rather than wasting their time in purposeless relationships all in the name of flexing. Poverty is a major problem in Nigeria and people are trying to manage resources ;so, they go for the cheapest option if at all they are not doing self help. Govt should come up with health insurance scheme that can accommodate the poor or better still, improve the standard of primary health care and make primary health care free but i know this is too much for nigerian politicians to provide for the people . May God raise men and women that would sanitize the political space and give Nigerians good leadership and he he also give the majority of nigerians sense so they do not remain foolish when electing their leaders

well, cataract surgery is advised if it's causing significant dusturbance to her vision already. If she gets a skilled surgeon , she ll do well after surgery still .
