The Government field at Nsukka, Enugu State has been renamed Sullivan Iheanacho Chime square by the Nsukka Local Government Council.

The Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, Hon. Charles Ugwu, who made the announcement during the Peoples Democratic Party’s campaign rally in the area said the gesture was in appreciation of the Governor’s exceptional achievements in office and his government’s support to the Enugu North Senatorial zone,

Ugwu said apart from ensuring that the governorship position was zoned to Nsukka, Governor Chime equally endeared himself to the people of the area through his developmental strides and support for the creation of Adada State.

Reacting to the honour, Governor Chime described it as “a pleasant surprise”.

While thanking the people of Nsukka for their support to his administration and for the PDP, he urged them to replicate same for the incoming administration.

Presenting the PDP guber candidate in Enugu State Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Chime described him as a fit and proper person to succeed him adding that he had full confidence in him (Ugwuanyi) as he would all that is necessary to provide the best for Enugu people.

He urged the people to ensure that the collected their permanent voters’ cards to enable them vote for PDP candidates during the forthcoming elections.

In a speech at the rally, the PDP guber candidate Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said the renaming of the Stadium after Governor Chime was just one of the many things lined up by the people of the area in order to thank Chime for his kind gestures.

He said the people of Enugu North Senatorial Zone will remain ever grateful to the Governor Chime adding that a different scenario would have played out, if the Governor had not insisted that power should shift to the zone after the two other zones in the state had held the position for eight years each.

Ugwuanyi said, “In and out of office, Sullivan Chime will remain my leader, he has shown love to our people by ensuring we got our fair share of political positions in Enugu State. He has also extended developmental projects to our people and we must make out time to celebrate him”

Source: The Citizens online.
A leader with the type of Sullivan Chime's character is a comet that comes once every thousand years.
He deserves to be immortalized and even more.
He not only worked so hard for the birth of a modern Enugu state, he sacrificed personal career for the good of the state.

PoliticsRe: The Jonathan Must Stay In Power Strategy by OreMI22: 1:31pm On Feb 08, 2015
Haykay80:
THE JONATHAN MUST STAY IN POWER STRATEGY
PHASE 1: Do nothing. There is no serious challenger. You
have good luck.
PHASE 2: Ensure GEJ is the only aspirant contesting the PDP
primaries.
PHASE 3: Persuade the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria to go
on strike to "prevent the Court of Appeal and the Supreme
Court from pronouncing on the eligibility of Mr. President to
run the election in 2015 and to also shutout politicians, who
may be dissatisfied with the outcome of the PDP primaries
and might want to initiate pre-election suit."
PHASE 4: Attack Buhari (Part 1)
Aim: To discredit him before the masses.
Action points:
* Tell them his is a fanatic. (This was effective last time)
* Tell them he is old.
* Tell them he is sick and may die in office.
* Tell them he has no certificate.
* Recruit pastors, General Overseers and Keepers of the Gates
of Hell to campaign against him.
If Phase 4 fails, continue to phase 5.
PHASE 5: Attack Buhari (Part 2)
Aim: Ensure Buhari doesn't get to the polls.
Action points:
* Persuade the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria to call off the
strike in order to allow for suits to be filed in order to use the
courts to (under pressure) disqualify Buhari.
* Mount pressure on INEC to postpone the election in order to
allow enough time for the courts to sit and on the PDP-
sponsored court cases against Buhari and disqualify him.
* If INEC is proving stubborn, get the Nigerian Army to
withdraw support for the elections.
* Once INEC confirms postponement of the election, go back
to the court and strongarm them into disqualifying him.
* If postponement of the election causes widespread
reactions, demonstrations and possible violence, set the
stage for military clampdown on the whole country and cancel
elections altogether.
* This will lead to more violence and instability. Jonathan
will remain in power to "return the country to peace before
conducting elections again." This process may take "as long
as necessary."
PHASE 6: Worst case scenario
Aim: Prevent any election whatsoever.
Action points:
* Hand over to the military. It is better to hand over to a
corrupt military than to have an incorruptible civilian win any
election that may be organised. At least the corrupt military
will appreciate us for handing over to them and they will
protect us and what we have stolen. After all, we are partners
in crime.
There is almost absolutely nothing this administration has
done that is in the interest of the common man. This has been
a government that is 100% for Jonathan himself and his
league of vampires and megalomaniacs.
The same army that cannot secure elections is busy blocking
streets in Lagos in order to prevent anti-postponement
rallies.
My advice to fellow Nigerians is, don't resort to any violence
whatsoever. Get your PVCs and wait. They can postpone
FeBuhari 14, but they cannot postpone May 29, 2015. To do
that, they need gross violence. Don't give them that. We will
still vote out this gross incompetence and despotism.
The constitution allows a maximum of 6 weeks for
postponement. That lands us in March and # GMB will surely
# MarchToAsoRock.

Kudos GEJ
I am really praying that as the airport continues to grow and the state government will resist the urge to allow further encroachment on the land around the airport. The entire area reserved for airport expansion should be guarded jealously from land developers who would want to build tall hotels and residential homes in the area. Then when the airport grow and gets busy, and thus requires a second runway, there would be no space left for expansion.

Right now, the airport still has land for expansion close to Ekulu river for a second runway when the need arises. I hope they keep it that way.

PoliticsRe: 123 Boko Haram, 3 Soldiers Killed In Failed Assault On Chadian Forces In Fotokol by OreMI22: 3:48pm On Jan 31, 2015
papaejima1:
Three soldiers and 123 Boko Haram militants were killed when the militant Islamist group attacked a Chadian army contingent in northern Cameroon, Chad's military said Friday. Twelve other soldiers were wounded in the attacks.

Chad sent a convoy of troops and military vehicles into neighbouring Cameroon on January 17 to deal with the growing threat Boko Haram poses to the region. The Islamists launched the attacks Thursday and Friday near the border town of Fotokol, according to a televised military statement.

"The enemy was repelled by our defensive forces," the general staff's statement said, adding that the troops had "routed" the Islamists in the second attack.

The soldiers were killed by improvised explosive devices, the statement said.

Boko Haram frequently stages attacks on Fotokol from their base in the Nigerian town of Gamboru, which is just 500 metres (550 yards) away.

Chad has called on countries in the region to form a broad coalition in the fight against the Islamist group. The country has already deployed its army along the border as well as sending the additional contingent into Cameroon.

The African Union called Friday for a regional five-nation force of 7,500 troops to defeat the "horrendous" rise of Boko Haram.

"Terrorism, in particular the brutality of Boko Haram against our people, [is] a threat to our collective safety, security and development. This has now spread to the region beyond Nigeria and requires a collective, effective and decisive response," AU commission chair Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said in a speech opening the summit.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told African leaders that Boko Haram was "a clear danger to national, regional and international peace and security".

The group's uprising has become a regional crisis, with the four directly affected countries – Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria – agreeing, along with Benin, to boost cooperation to contain the threat and to form a Multinational Joint Task Force.

More than 13,000 people have been killed and more than one million made homeless by Boko Haram violence since it launched a violent insurgency in earnest in 2009.

I am so proud and grateful to Chad for stepping up to tackle the Boko Haram threat.

Nigerian army had largely refused to engage Boko Haram out of the fact that some officers were making money through this insurgency as alleged by some junior officers, and the fact that so many moles exist in the Nigerian army.

Chad has neither of those problems and therefore, Boko Haram have finally met a disciplined enemy.

Namibia poor? Don't say that again o. If not because of the black man's corruption mentality, Namibia should be among the most comfortable countries to live in worldwide. Their income per capita is high even morethan some European countries. Though the wealth of the country is controlled by a greedy few while majority live in poverty. The population of the country is very small, even smaller than Anambra state but they have a lot of wealth from natural resources like Diamond or so.
You are right, Namibia's population is small.
But Namibia is still not a rich country. Its budget is scarcely above the budget of Nigerian richest states. Yet, non of those states have a real city close to windhoek.Lagos is what it is because it had been the Federal Capital of Nigeria.

Yet, Namibia also has an armed forces, Police and embassies around the world which it supports. While non of these Nigerian states need to worry about that.

PoliticsRe: Opinion:General Buhari To Release Certificate Close To Election in Febuary by OreMI22: 2:22pm On Jan 31, 2015
Medley:
Politics as we all know is all about saving the best for last. I think one of the major points that has been used by the major ruling party to try to obliterate or malign the chances of GMB is to either spuriously paint the idea that he is not qualified based on the minimum qualification for education.

These are the reasons why i think he may be saving the result to be released when the election is closest.

1. The election clearly puts that the candidate are to be cleared by their party and that sole responsibility is theirs and not of INEC, this provides an opportunity for them to create a situation that will catch the attention of the populace.

2. The party knows the blow of not having this minimum requirements and yet decided to field GMB.

3. The plan that GMB will not affix his certificate with the originally submitted form was part of APCs game plan from outset.

4. GMB could have applied for his results directly from cambridge but he decided to apply to his school in katsina. So that the questions about his results will keep coming up from the opposition. Is it that no one head of the party know about this means of soliciting for original result.

5. The constitution did not state that the candidate must submit a WASSCE or WAEC result but that the minimum requirement is a WASSCE certificate, GMB has higher result but he decided to go for the minimum requirement that will be seen has a pre-requisite he should have atleast possessed.

6.This will give the impression to a larger part of the country's population that atleast have a WASSCE certificate, that he should release the result and when the result is released he will have a large part of this population that are yet undecided on who to vote follow him.

7. The party leaders know that even though the case will be taken to courts, but once he becomes the president the judgement might be pinned on some form of impunity for perjury. Or atleast they are ready for whatever the court case will be

8. Many Nigerians at this election that will be tightly contended are confused and undecided on who to vote, when the Certificate is released by the party close to the election(they are saving the best for last),they will surely win a lot of sympathy vote for the general, for what he was put through on the certificate issue.

Disclaimer: this will not be the case if the result is truly not available with Cambridge.

Now to you all, can this be the pan of the APC party leaders. Lets do politics!
