Family › Re: Why Are Wives Often Blamed For Their Husbands' Failures? by Outstrip(f): 6:33pm On Oct 12, 2009
That's the same with many Nigerian marriages in the US but of course they spin it around to say the woman got egotistical after she got a job as a nurse etc. They want their wives to go out there and work 16 hours a day 7 days a week and then they will keep the paycheck. Why can't you be a nurse yourself since nursing is so intoxicating to these men. My mom was 45 when she moved to the states and was working as a nurse within a year. So they can go to school and improve their lives. My mom was able to take classes and study for her board exams with 5 children and a husband (a very loving and understanding husband I must say LOL)

How well did you know her. Why did you have to go to Nigeria to bring a wife. I don't want to say anything until I know why you crossed oceans to find a wife when there are women where you live
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Permissible To Adapt Secular Music For Worship?? by Outstrip(f): 6:17pm On Oct 12, 2009
Ordinarily I would agree because eventually the line will be crossed and people will be popping their butts in church like some music video but I heard
"Because you loved me" on a christian station and if Celine Dion never sang that song you would never say it was secular
Romance › Re: Spirit Husband! by Outstrip(f): 6:11pm On Oct 12, 2009
Doesn't anybody here feel at least a little bit silly. Why do Nigerians like to live in bondage. Has anybody asked him what the things he did that failed entailed? How do you know that he is not a lazy person? (Not saying the poster is lazy but we do not know him personally). He comes on here and says she had a baby in her dream and now she should be responsible for all his failures. Please you people should FREE YOURSELVES. christ has already redeemed you. FREE YOUR DOGGONE SELVES. People are already prescribing deliverance. Doctors of spirituality. Please poster leave the girl alone since she is so bad. Don't go and fill her head with your nonsense and then move on with your life but she is left with the thoughts and lies you put in her mind.

If it is just in general conversation and I am asked then I will say Nigeria. If it is for business I will not say Nigeria. Usually Nigeria and if they ask what part then I will say west Africa if they still insist then I will say Nigeria. I will never say another country though. I actually started to do the whole africa thing last year. Nigerians are not making it easier either. As far as associating with other Nigerians that just started recently when I moved and joined the RCCG in my area and so far it has been exactly as I feared it would be. Aside from my family and a few people I grew up with I just do not jive with most Nigerians in the US

Actually women are not as complicated as you men think. Most women just want to be loved and know that he feels that she is precious. It's as simple as that

Sincerely I normallly pity the African lady she is always the victim and the society doe nothing to protect it!!! I think it has more to do with our laws and I sincerely believe a law should be promugated to preserve this rare piece of ingenuity (the african lady)!
The woman needs to be willing to help herself too though. It still baffles me that in this day and age there are still women whose husbands die that his mother and brothers will come in and tell her that they will get back to her on how she and her husbands assets are divided. Most of these women end up having a hard time educating their children. I have seen many women just sit back and expect that things will work out if they play dumb.

Kind of like well done. Like you guys say Una Kushe. Yorubas can say EKushe(not sure of the spelling) o like Una welldone o. Maybe a yoruba person can better explain it. It is a greeting too like hello

vislabraye:
@poster
I'm sure you are a woman, not a man.

Behind the success of every man is a woman, vice versa should be the case. smiley. You women want to take the credit but not the blame.

Making absolute statements and blaming men is not the solution. Women (and men also) should be mindful of who they choose as their spouse. It's not after choosing a jerk that  you start whining, " why are men like this? why are men like that?" There are also cases of evil women marrying to good men. It's a two way thing. I know of a tribe here in Nigeria where most of the women are widows. They kill their husbands, inherit his properties and they become land ladies. It's that same tribe that export their daughters to Italy to do,  ( fill in the gap).

So before posting, make a good research. At the end of the day, most of you girls( or mamas which ever) would marry a Nigerian man
And you stand here arguing for yourself but proving the point of the original poster. Any Nigerian knows that if the man is successful his family says that the woman is "eating their brother's money". They never call it the woman's  money and you proved that by saying that the women kill their husbands and inherit "his" money. It was not and will never be just his money. It is their marriage. It is their house. They are their children etc. This is the point we are all making. African culture does not value women. You men (including you as you have admitted) see the woman as an attachment not an equal. If a woman made that statement you would be the first to say she is a pompous woman that wants to turn her husband into a houseboy because she has the money.

Aishaf you are s right. You took it right out of my mouth. I have said this again and again. When you raise people like this they tend not to be able to function as adults. I see so many cases where the man is so utterly useless but the woman is still expected to take care of the children and of this grown man.
Family › Re: Fg Okays 16-wk Maternity Leave For Workers by Outstrip(f): 8:27pm On Oct 09, 2009
Many companies here in the US grant paternity leave. Though it is usually 2 weeks or something. I know also that if a couple adopts a child they get some sort of maternity leave comparable to if she actually gave birth to the child. So if a single man adopts a child he might get maternity grin grin grin
Politics › Re: Our Lawmakers Want To Be Above The Law by Outstrip(f): 3:15am On Oct 09, 2009
Apart from the part where he says that they should basically get the approval of their senior colleauges before an arrest can be made should this not be the case for every Nigerian. You should not be arrested without evidence and we all know that warrants in Nigeria almost mean nothing when it comes to the rights of the common man. They should be talking about this for every Nigerian. These pompous overfed idiots really get on my nerves
Celebrities › Re: A Passionate Appeal 2 My Superstar - Monalisa Chinda by Outstrip(f): 10:16pm On Oct 08, 2009
Iyk you really need to stop this. How can you say I hurt your feelings by what I wrote? Is it because I asked you to be quiet. Do you know how many people were offended by your insensitive comments. You are blaming a victim of abuse for her abuse. Do you know how many women have died in the hands of people who think like this. You need to apologize for your own behavior. I cannot even believe you opened a thread about it. I asked you before to show me where I insulted you. You did not instead you started a thread about it to get more attention.
Celebrities › Re: A Passionate Appeal 2 My Superstar - Monalisa Chinda by Outstrip(f): 3:18pm On Oct 08, 2009
Where did I insult you? Is it where I said be quiet. I stand by that. I mean even her husband that was beating her black and blue said she was a faithful and loving wife but you came up here to tarnish her image. Even if she wears pasties on her nipples and walks out of the house why should it be an issue. Furthermore she was even playing a role. Do you want her to wear buba and wrapper to play the hottest girl on campus. Abeg. No apologies for you. You will just have to get over it
