Even with what you have said (though I stopped at the point you said she walked up to you and said that you should never send her errands) I still see you as not doing what you are not supposed to do. You are behaving like an 11 year old kid. When an 11 year old under your care talks to you that way you give her consequences. Not whine over how she is insolent. Unless she has attacked you physically I am not sure what you concern is. You seem to be one of those women that want to portray to in laws that you are good so you will not talk but the whole time you are boiling like a volacano that is about to erupt. Now the child is the one that will receive the frustration. Even if an in law that is older than me comes to my house and acts that way it will not be long before they understand what's up. She is a child for christ's sake. Discipline her and if her mother has a problem with it then she can come take her child. A situation like this does not even necessarily need yoru husbands input. You are the woman of the house. I don't think you understand that. I don't think this child even feels that you are a day older than her. Not with the way you are carrying on. You need to re strategize. There are rules in every home and they need to be obeyed or there will be consequences

Is her husband still against it? If he is what are his reasons? What is she going to study that cannot be studied in a local university? Honestly if she is 5 hours a way then she should be able to see her kids almost every week.

Honestly for what Beyonce is worth this is nothing. She has made almost 200 million dollars on her own in the last 2 years alone. She has even out earned Jay Z in at least one of those years I think. She will not need tat money even if they divorce

what would you do to your insolent 11 year old sister? Why are you not giving her consequences? I highly doubt that an 11 year old would just be buck wide crazy enough to be that stubborn especially when there will be consequences. Give one example of something she did wrong and how you handled it?

also the police should man up and do a better job protecting women and children in nigeria.
there is a functioning 911 in the USA for anyone. you dial it opari. you don't even have to give them your address. they will locate where the call came in from. i just want nigeria to be able to do the same.
protect yourself, learn tae kwondo. don't take any nonsense, just a pinch is enough for you to show the man that he 'jam' gbagbati

i hate woman beater. i will never hestitate to call the cop for any man born of a woman who dare pinches me no matter how much i love him.
The police are too busy beating their own wives to have time to save someone else's. It is a cultural thing. mutter said on this forum that her ex husband beat her visciously in public and when she jumped out of the car and ran into the arms of the police they turned her around and handed her back to the man. There you have it. Nigerian police at their finest

^^ See you, I was having a little argument(on politics) with my mum when I visited naija late last year. This woman gave me the look and started one of her numerous sermon. . . . . ''Don't insult my intelligence woman, when did all this arguments start, are you arguing Nigerian politics with me living here in Nigeria? se'ori'e kpe gan?(don't know if I got the spelling right grin) or you think you've grown so big I cannot twist your mouth abi? don't think I have abandoned the disciplinary part of me to old age. '' . I just looked at her and kept quiet jare. I no get time for her wahala

Funny how she scolds us in yoruba grin grin grin grin
She should have pulled your bottom lip over your head (my mother actually tried that before). How can you be arguing with mommy that lives in Nigeria when you are in the US or UK somewhere. These kids of nowadays LOL

On to this topic. I believe it can be done without spanking. I do spank my boys though it is few and far between. I have considered not spanking because the last thing I want is for them to fear me. In fact I remember a day that my son turned on the TV and was scrolling through the channels even though I had told him in the past that he is limited to Nick Jr and Disney Jr. He like cartoon network, nick and the regualr disney. He is only four and I don't think those ones are age appropriate. I got upset and walked up to him to grab the remote control and my baby fliched. I felt sick. He honestly thought he was going to get swatted.

I will still use spanking were necessary but not right on the spot. Let the moment pass then come back to him and discuss it and then spank him. That way it is not coming from a place of anger. My 4 year old is tough even at age four he is very opinionated and he likes to reason things out logically so I know he will listen. My 5 year old is an angel. He knows when he has done something wrong and typically will try to correct it. two very different kids and usually I discipline them differently

I agree but if they were my friends I wouldbe happy to see those pictures. I would honestly think that they deserve to have that time. I can understand the boss' thought but after an explanation it should not have been an issue at all. Mourning is a very personal thing. there are people who cannot even survive the agony of losing a child. They did what was right for them.

Ive seen that happen a lot of times. I think that they just become sensitized to the beatings and don't really care anymore.

My mum used to be the smacker and my dad never raised his hand but I tell you we had a lot more respect for our dad than our mum.

Why? . . . .because dad never smacked us, anytime we did wrong we felt that we had disappointed & failed him and we felt bad. He always got his change back complete and no inflated book lists grin

As for our mum we just chopped the cane jeje and went on to the next mischief. No wahala grin
That was exactly the way it was in our home. My mom was a terrorist. I remember peeing on myself once when I heard her car pull in at the gate. It was totally unnessasary. I feared my mother but respected my father. A smile from him made my day. Even till today I do not want to dissapoint my dad. I always find it hard to say daddy you are wrong even though I am very outspoken. Aww. I love my dad. My mom n the other hand annoyed me the other day and I told her I would throw her out of my fathers house LMAO. It was over the phone so she could not slap me

CrimeRe: Rabi Ismail (actress) To Die By Hanging by Outstrip(f): 9:23pm On Jul 10, 2011
I am comparing the evidence dayo not how the person died. This is what I read about the man that killed his banker wife and this is what I read about the actress that killed her boyfriend. The evidence. Afterall that is what she is being hanged for. The evidence had to have proven that she indeed killed him. Poisoned eclairs does not prove that she did it and that she drowned him after.
CrimeRe: Rabi Ismail (actress) To Die By Hanging by Outstrip(f): 7:41pm On Jul 10, 2011
According to the news that man mutilated his wife. he claims she stabbed herself. How does someone stab themselves and take out an organ and gorge out her eys. That's like saying someone committed suicide by shooting themselves in the head three times. How can you even compare the evidence that has been made public. It's like you people are playing moomoo just to prove a point. They said she poisoned some food he ate. That's not enough evidence. When you see a man with blood all over him jump a fence and then comes back and says she mutilated herslef before she died and you compare it to this it is very hard to take you seriously

Thank you Godalone. there are many men like you. I have men in my family that I can say the same about. I think when people are a certain way they assume the rest of the world is the same. FamilyRe: by Outstrip(f): 4:28pm On Jul 10, 2011
chaircover I think any human being might cheat if the opportunity presents itself and they know they will not get caught. Someone who cheats a few months into his marriage should not have married at all. It has nothing to do with the fact that he is a man and that men are not monogamous by nature. That is just not true. he is just a bad person. I also believe that it also part of an overall lifestyle. So a man that will do such cannot be trusted either inother aspects of life. Integrity, honour, loyalty etc those sort of things are not important to such a person. I honestly believe that through the course of a marriage that a woman will probably have as much opportunities to cheat as a man and I even believe that women cheat probably as much as the average man, in other parts of the world LOL.
If you feel that you are not monogamous by nature then do not expect to have someone to be loyal to only just you. Be an untrustworthy, lying SOB but expect to have a disloyal and untrustworthy partner.

Everybody that has called for her blood without even bothering to see any evidence or even if there is any evidence (besides this story about her injecting the eclairs with this very potent poison) stand by your word and pray that you take the same punishment the man that kills her will take. Pray that if she is innocent you pay for spilling the blood of the innocent. Say Amen to that prayer and go on about your day.

notwithstanding his history with the bank, they still got him locked up and he lost his car and job. personally i think he shoulda got a white lawyer. use them against each other. i dont see him getting no 25 million though. about 1 million is what he will likely receive for damages and inconvenience.
Was about to say the same thing and then I saw your post. You are right. When the man gets ready to sue he will not be suing because they closed his account. he will be suing for his being locked up, loss of livelihood, he lost his car and of course damages that only God knows what other clever thing his lawyer will come up with. They will throw the book at Chase.

Wouldn't it be easier to keep it private if she went to the hospital on her own without alerting him at all?
Have people just stopped thinking? undecided
Actually you are over analyzing and very narrowly I might add. Why would a woman who is 9 months pregnant and not feeling well not first ask for assistance from someone. would that someone not logically be the husband? You are simply over analyzing what she said. That was her thought on it and if you go with that line of thinking then it actually makes some sense.

I'm Pretty much indifferent. I think sometimes some people deserve death so I don't object to their sentencing, but at the same time Im not so comfortable with using killing as a deterrent for killing. Seems somewhat hypocritical. And then there is the possibility of wrongful convictions leading to execution of innocents.

My issue in previous post was the warped logic the posters were applying and their condescending tone. Anyways, who died and made me boss grin
Yeah. I share your concern. But it seems they had a confession in this case. Not sure under what conditions it was made though. It also seems that the issue most have with it is the sentence, and not the guilty verdict.
I totally understand what you are saying. The confession part makes me more concerned. A confession from someone in Nigeria in police custody might as well be treated as no confession at all.

How did you come to that conclusion? If she didn't want him to be privy to the information, why will she call him and then wait all day for him to come and take her to the hospital? Does that make any sense to you?
Some people just pull trash out of their anus and post so they can be counted present. undecided
Wouldn't it be easier to keep it private if she was not using his company's hospital. I am almost certain that her husband will not go into the examining room with her. Especially when it is the kind of man that is okay with his landlord taking his pregnant wife to the hospital. IMO I think that you should go with a doctor you are comfortable with. I find it hard to believe that a woman wold go to a quack hospital that is expensive than one that is 5 star and not as expensive.
