I think the record is pretty lame. With our level of oil wealth, our airports should stand out. Enugu airport is pretty mediocre for an “international” airport. Abuja and Lagos ones are just not it. Imagine an airport saying “ keep walking or pay 5000 fine.”

Addis Ababa airport beats all that we have. See photo 1 and 2.

Our leaders often build cheap to have enough to nick

Both countries shows that taxation is not the same thing as good or bad governance....My point still stands, taxation is a mandate, what they do with such taxes is another thing. You can pay all the taxes you want and still suffer(North Korea), you can pay and enjoy (South Korea).
If you have ran a business in this country then you’d understand what multiple taxation means. 20 -35% import duty plus 7.5% VAT, 5% ETL and 7% surcharge. It’s crazy! Then you pay VAT again at FIRS and the another “agbero” tax ( over 100k) to access the road. Doesn’t it read like madness?

In SKorea you mentioned, export tax is applicable, however you can apply to get a rebate from government .

What I Was Offered By An Occultist While Preaching In A Bus Park

.
Brother, good morning.

I sincerely hope you could use your effort to emancipate the minds of our people from dwelling so much on inanities.

Since I was born, people talked about God in this part of the world. How they saw God in dreams and God speaking to them. These are the easy parts of the gospel. The most difficult part, and this is the part that would affect us all, is UNDERSTANDING THE WORKS OF GOD.

You spent 40 days in the wilderness, but men have toiled their life time trying to understand the works of God; how are cells formed? What’s the common disease in Africa pathogenesis? Why is pile prevalent in Nigeria? how do we stop cancer? How do we increase rice yield to feed our growing population? Can we make yam grow bigger? Science is understanding the works of God

The reason why I am drawing your attention to these aspects of God and his work is that they matter so much in the quality of life while on earth.

Occultist you mentioned does not know a common solution to prevalent typhoid fever. He has no clue at all what salmonella is. And he claims to know the gods with a small g? Understanding these men or these occultist don’t know Jack. Yaba might be of help to them.

let’s spend some time evaluating why are our lives so difficult in this parts of the world. Doesn’t God love us? Ain’t we praying enough? Is a 9-day fast good enough?

Are these pertinent questions?

How productive are we?
What can that piece of land in front of my house grow, vegetables?
Why do I need a third child when I am living on a minimum wage?
Is this extra handbag necessary when my old mother at the village needs a derica of beans

Use the effort to emancipate our people. Same with the men of smooth clothes who stand the pulpit and drive G-Wagon

Now I am asking these questions for those youths who would want to explore the opportunities in Georgia.

As a student, what salary can our boys expect working off school hours? Can this money be enough to sustain their feeding, housing and save a little to pay school fees and send a few bucks back home to 9ja?

If our boys decide to export their second hand “Japanese” cars to Nigeria, do you think it will be profitable business? Are there available car scrap yards for those who would like to load auto parts?

How robust is their manufacturing? What’s cheap there, soya oil, grains, aluminium sheets, tiles?

Do you consider Georgia a japa zone ? What about survivability : work, salary etc

What about business prospect, what does Georgia manufacture that you think we may need here?

Are Japanese cars predominantly used in the Georgia? How cheap?

At Tbilisi Georgia

Please is that in EU, NATO, RUSSIA OR IN ASIA?
Georgia is not an EU state; and they are not joining EU soon. It’s in the “gray zone” of conflict between NATO and Russia. It’s a potential flash point if the conflict with Abkhazia (a breakaway region) are reignited.

When seeking a “Japa” zone, you must consider availability of employment as a student and after graduation. And also the prospect of converting student visa to some Kind of residence permit. Also the strength of the student visa - does a Georgian student visa make it easy to get an EU or US visiting visa in Georgia?

She had a golden opportunity to skul abroad which millions of Nigerian are looking for, she misused it and is looking for an opportunity to apportion blame, ppl like me attended public skuls from primary to university level with very minimal supervision, cos our parents were poor, yet we manage to kip our heads above d water. She is the master or her fate and architect of her misfortune.
Somehow I really don’t feel her. Then again in life, irrespective of the circumstance some may turn out good in the wort of circumstance, other go bunkers in the best of condition. Some of us in Nigeria went through worse circumstance than she did but we didn’t come out bad. Six years in boarding school at one remote village in FCT no be beans. Another 4 years in one awful university living on meager 101. SAPA was our companion... yet we came out good. We didn’t prostitute, though many girls at delta were hawking every evening.

She had a good chance.. a chance many would fast and pray, tug God.

Do we all have a fixed destiny irrespective of our circumstance? Are some destined to fail?

Vying for senatorial seat will also not yield any dividends to his people. This is a man whose thoughts are his belly only since his days at labor.

I'm here with this story today with a sole purpose, please don't ever stop helping people, don't refuse to lend someone a hand if you're in a position to help, I understand that it's difficult to help sometimes I'm this country because of the baggages that comes with it, for example some people said I should have left him because it wasn't worth the risk that I could go to jail and the police might lie that I killed h if he dies, which is a bit far fetched to me.
Sure I knew if he died the police would have to detain me till they figure out some details, but personally I would happily spend a couple of days in jail if it means giving a human being Thier life back.

I hope if I was ever in that kind of situation someone that values life comes along and help me too
You have done well !

The part that got me angry is people gathering around and speaking in the tongues; how did we acquire this culture of absolving ourselves any responsibility and putting all to God. A situation many foreigners see in Nigeria, and shake their head in disbelief, saying TIA - this is Africa.

How can we change this awkward culture we have acquired? Saying “I am strong” when one is ill is one I found so hard to figure out. What culture upended culture is that?

A lot has to change to get this society right. People need to be taught proper norms and customs.

With the way Nigeria is running it's workers renumeration, do you think workers will be dedicated? Look at ASUU after so much time at home and an agreement reached, Govt still went ahead to pay half salaries, is that a serious govt? You forgot an ebonyi lecturer that was assassinated while doing Uber because of poor pay and strikes, how can you be a govt worker and still be looking for side hustle? Like not out of interest in the hustle but to survive and feed?

Pls be considerate when criticize govt workers.

Have you said anything about the working environment of these people? They use their money to buy chairs and tables to sit on, offices has no AC, no stationeries, no imprest to run office, official vehicles are dead and not replaced,. No staff buses.

Some are work without going on leave for years, they transfer them in-between states with no DTA, they send on course and they have to pay their own money to register and never get any course allowance, I can go on and on. Lecturers use their salaries to fund research, no research fund or grants, even when they are qualified.
Majority of them are frustrated by the system.
Don't be too fast to be critical, investigate as well.
Bro, you described a very bad working condition: half-pay, no allowance, no vacation, no research fund, no transport allowance, poor working environment, hot office,

Come to think of it, why would any educated person with skill continue work in this horrible condition,When he could use his skills and render services to millions of Nigerians directly?

Are those working in this condition nothing to offer in the private sector?

Or are they truly the educated but no skills who make the bulk of the bureaucrats playing solitaire in government offices as ValCon888 described in his piece?

In developed countries, Good system of government, social amenities, low unemployment rate, good minimum wage/earnings yet most people have 1, 2, 3 children while few have 5+... Or some want no children.

Why do people in African e.g in Nigeria with very bad system of government, no social amenities, high unemployment rate, low pay rate yet people have or give birth to more number of children Or any number yet go ahead to complain how difficult it is to take care of them? Like they don't know it requires money to do things in life huh

Can't comfortably pay the school fees of the 2 children you have yet adding more children huh So that you can have 3 or 4 children that you can't pay school fees for?

Your salary is 250k, you finish some of the months with borrowing yet adding more children hence lability undecided

The current living condition your salary is giving, you are finding it difficult to push through yet adding more children huh Hence making life more difficult or what could be the motive?

A single guy/girl finding it difficult to survive on his/her 100k salary but would go ahead and marry, pour children huh

Is it a crime to have no children or the number of children your salary can afford?

In my opinion, here we don't value children, human life and the basic wellbeing of the children we give birth to. Hence you see people even in their state of abject poverty adding more children or those that are doing a little better adding more children just to fulfill their desire of having X number of children even when the ones they already have is difficult to maintain.

Another reason is that people don't think or reason for themselves. They just follow the societal norms like zombies and do what everyone is doing.

These things always makes me wonder.
Isn’t the problem here an extensive belief that God will take care of our problems. I guess that’s what the churches have been preaching since my birth, absolving our responsibilities: Make more, God go provide.

Your analysis is only feasible on paper. You are so sure of your theoretical analysis. I don't think the CBN Governor can be as sure as you are as regards monetary policies.
The key part the analyst failed to comprehend is that the man who changed and held USD has retained value and will comfortably exchange his USD holding for naira when stability returns in January. Regardless of the cashless policy in January, he can exchange for Naira in parallel market and get credited in his account via bank transfers. Aboki FX can operate via bank transfer

Key facts:
There isn’t enough dollars earnings by CBN. So the effect of this shortage are Airlines like emirates threatening to quit Nigeria due backlog of FX remittance

DMBs don’t have enough FX holding to satisfy demand via FOrm Q, Form A. so it’s natural the value of USD will rise with many Naira chasing Dollar

Falling foreign reserve.

Currency color change By December 15.. Stashed/stolen funds that can’t be deposited in DMB is chasing limited USD
